Google Ads Training 2026: the 7 best courses for marketers and teams

We compared Google Ads training for companies and their staff: price per person, length, live or self-paced format, certificate, and options for training a whole team.

The short answer, depending on who you are training:

  • You want live, instructor-led training in the US: Noble Desktop's Google Ads Bootcamp. $650 for 12 hours, in New York or live online, with a free retake within a year.
  • You need to train a UK marketing team of five or more: Jellyfish, one day on Search fundamentals at £499 per person, or a private session for your team.
  • You want small classes and two levels: Media Training, Intro and Advanced days from £349 + VAT, eight people at most in the room.
  • You learn best on your own schedule: the Modern Marketing Institute's Ultimate Google Ads Course, 24 hours of video for $249.99.
  • You want the official credential without paying: Google Skillshop, free courses and the Google Ads certification.

A Google Ads course is only as good as what your team changes in the account the week after: campaign structure, negative keywords, conversion tracking, bidding. So we compared curricula, formats, published prices, certificates and team options across fourteen providers, then ranked seven courses from seven of them; the buyer's guide explains why the others are not here. A one-day class costs between £349 and £499 per person in London. A 12-hour live bootcamp costs $650 in the US. And one thing surprises most buyers: the credential employers ask for, the Google Ads certification, is free and has to be renewed every year.

Best live Google Ads course in the US

Noble Desktop · Google Ads Bootcamp

4.0/5

Noble Desktop runs its Google Ads Bootcamp as 12 hours of live, project-based training led by working practitioners. You can attend in person at 185 Madison Avenue in New York or join live online, and a self-paced version exists if your calendar will not allow live sessions.

The value is in the format. You build campaigns during class and can ask questions as you go, which is what most self-paced courses cannot offer. Full tuition is $650, paid before the class starts. If you want to sit the class again, the retake is free within one year: useful when Google changes its campaign types, which it does often.

At the end you get a verified digital certificate of completion. It shows you finished the class; it is not the Google Ads certification, which you still take for free on Skillshop. For companies, Noble Desktop offers private training at your location and group class vouchers. Students rate the bootcamp 4.8 stars, a score based on 19 students, so read it as a signal rather than proof.

Standout features
  • Free retake within one year
  • Live in New York or online
  • Private onsite training for companies
  • 4.8 stars from 19 students
+Pros
  • ✓Real campaigns built during class
  • ✓A clear price, published on the page
  • ✓A retake that keeps you current as Google changes
−Cons
  • ✗The 4.8 rating rests on only 19 students
  • ✗A certificate of completion, not an industry credential
  • ✗Live sessions run on US time zones
Verdict

The best pick if you want a live instructor and a hands-on class in the US. If you only need the theory, Skillshop covers it for free.

Best Google Ads course for training a UK team

Jellyfish · Google Ads Search: Fundamentals

3.9/5

Jellyfish is a digital marketing agency that also runs a training arm, and its Google Ads Search: Fundamentals course is a single day, from 10am to 5pm. You can take it in person at The Shard in London, live online from anywhere in the UK, or book it as a private session.

The agenda covers the basics of pay-per-click advertising, keywords and match types, how the Google Ads auction and Quality Score work (Quality Score is the rating Google gives each keyword based on ad relevance and landing page), campaign and ad group structure, ad copy and extensions, optimization, and an optimization schedule to keep using after the course. No Google Ads experience is required, and you do not need a live campaign to attend.

The price is £499 per person, excluding VAT. Public classes suit solo learners or teams of up to four. For five people or more, Jellyfish recommends a private, tailored session. You leave with a Jellyfish certificate of attendance, which is separate from the Google Ads certifications on Skillshop.

Standout features
  • A private, tailored session for teams of five or more
  • No prior Google Ads experience needed
  • An optimization schedule to apply after the course
  • In person, online or private
+Pros
  • ✓Clear guidance on when a private session makes sense
  • ✓Taught by an agency that runs campaigns
  • ✓A complete Search foundation in one day
−Cons
  • ✗One day covers Search only, not Performance Max or Shopping
  • ✗£499 is the highest day rate in this ranking
  • ✗The private session price is not published
Verdict

The best pick for getting a UK team started on Search in one day, especially as a private session. Teams already running campaigns should look at Media Training's Advanced day.

Best small-group Google Ads classes

Media Training · Google Ads Intro and Google Ads Advanced

3.8/5

Media Training is a London training company that splits Google Ads into two one-day courses. Google Ads Intro is for marketers and business owners new to paid search. Google Ads Advanced is for existing Google Ads users who want better campaign performance. You can take each one in person at its Islington center or live online over Zoom.

The groups are small: eight people at most in the room, six online. That matters more than it sounds. In a group of eight, the trainer can look at your questions about your own account; in a webinar of fifty, nobody will.

Each course starts from £349 + VAT, the lowest day rate in our ranking. You get a certificate of attendance. Private team training is offered at the center, at your office or online, but the price is on quote. Across its Google Ads courses, Media Training shows 456 reviews, 9.7 out of 10 satisfaction and 100% who recommend it.

Standout features
  • Groups of eight in the room, six online
  • Two levels you can take in sequence
  • 456 reviews at 9.7 out of 10
  • From £349 + VAT per day
+Pros
  • ✓The lowest published day rate in this ranking
  • ✓A clear path from Intro to Advanced
  • ✓Small classes that leave room for your questions
−Cons
  • ✗Private team pricing is not published
  • ✗Live online requires your own computer and software
  • ✗A certificate of attendance only
Verdict

The best pick for a small UK team that wants two clear levels and real attention from the trainer. US teams will find live hours closer to home at Noble Desktop.

Best self-paced paid Google Ads course

Modern Marketing Institute · The Ultimate 2026 Google Ads Course

3.7/5

The Modern Marketing Institute is the course business of Isaac Rudansky, founder of the agency AdVenture Media Group, whose Google Ads course is one of the most cited in the comparisons we read. The Ultimate 2026 Google Ads Course packs 24 hours of content into 91 lessons of on-demand video, with guides, templates and calculators you can reuse on your own account.

You can watch on mobile, computer or TV and stop whenever you need to. That is the strength and the limit: nobody checks your work, and nobody answers a question about your account. For a disciplined learner, though, 24 hours is more depth than any one-day class in this ranking.

The price is $249.99, with a certificate of completion. The institute also sells a separate Google Ads Paid Search Certification, listed at 24 hours and 136 lessons. A team training page exists, but it gives no details, so ask before buying seats for a team.

Standout features
  • 24 hours and 91 lessons
  • Templates and calculators to reuse
  • Taught by the founder of a Google Ads agency
  • $249.99
+Pros
  • ✓The most depth for the money among paid courses
  • ✓Learn at your own pace
  • ✓Material you can reuse on real accounts
−Cons
  • ✗No live instructor or feedback on your account
  • ✗Testimonials on the page, but no aggregate rating
  • ✗The course page was last updated in 2023, despite the 2026 title
  • ✗No published team pricing
Verdict

The best pick for a self-directed marketer who wants depth without a classroom. If you need someone to review your campaigns, a live class will serve you better.

Best one-day live Google Ads class across the US

ONLC Training Centers · Google Ads Introduction

3.7/5

ONLC is a US training company with a network of training centers, and its Google Ads Introduction is a single instructor-led day. You attend it from one of its centers or from your own desk through what ONLC calls Remote Classroom Instruction: the same live class, the same instructor, and you can ask questions as you go.

The outline covers the basics a newcomer needs, in order: how Google Ads is organised (account structure, campaign types, Quality Score and Ad Rank), how to build a campaign (goals and settings, keyword research, ad groups, ad copy), how to manage bids and budgets, and how to read performance with KPIs and the analysis tools. ONLC aims it at online marketers, media analysts, web analysts and business owners, asks only for basic computer and Chrome skills, and strongly encourages you to bring your own Ads account.

The fee is $395 when you book early and $445 for a late registration, a surcharge ONLC says covers book shipping and setup. A Google Ads Advanced day follows it for people who already know the basics. For a team, ONLC runs the class privately, onsite or online, on quote.

Standout features
  • One live day from $395
  • Attend from a center or from your office
  • Private group delivery on request
+Pros
  • ✓Lowest published price for a live class here
  • ✓A follow-up Advanced day for the next step
  • ✓Prerequisites kept to basic computer skills
−Cons
  • ✗One day only: less practice than a multi-day bootcamp
  • ✗The course page mentions no Google certification prep
  • ✗Group pricing is quote-only
Verdict

A short, cheap, live first step for a US marketer. A team that wants several days of hands-on work should look at Noble Desktop instead.

Best structured self-paced course with instructor support

Loves Data · Google Ads Fundamentals Course

3.6/5

Loves Data is the training business of Benjamin Mangold, who has worked with Google Ads and Google Analytics for over 15 years. The Google Ads Fundamentals Course is self-paced: it starts when you join and you decide when you finish. Loves Data suggests three to four weeks, so you have time to apply each lesson to a real account.

The eleven modules cover the foundations, objectives, keywords and match types, campaign structure and bidding, Performance Max, ads and assets, targeting, optimization and experiments, conversion tracking with Google Analytics, Display and remarketing, landing pages and account management.

The price is $225 USD as a one-time payment, or three payments of $85. Access does not expire and updates are included. During the first 30 days, the instructor offers personal help if you get stuck, and a private community stays open after that. You get a course certificate when you finish the lessons and quizzes.

Loves Data is also the first Google result for Google Ads training, and that page leads to this same online course: what you see there is what is ranked here.

Standout features
  • $225 USD, no course expiry
  • Eleven modules including Performance Max and conversions
  • Personal help from the instructor in the first 30 days
  • Course certificate
+Pros
  • ✓Clear, complete structure for a beginner
  • ✓Cheaper than the live classes in this ranking
  • ✓Lessons updated at no extra cost
−Cons
  • ✗No live class or review of your own campaigns after the first month
  • ✗No published team pricing
  • ✗The certificate is not a Google certification
Verdict

A good middle ground between the free Skillshop modules and a live class: a structured course at $225, with a month of support from the instructor.

Best free Google Ads training

Google Skillshop · Google Ads courses and certifications

3.5/5

Skillshop is Google's own training platform. For Google Ads it offers free courses, each leading to a certification: Search, Display, Measurement, Video and Shopping. New campaign features show up there first, which no third-party course can match.

To pass a certification, you need 80% or more on an assessment that lasts 75 minutes. If you fail, you can retake it one day later. The certification stays valid for one year, then you take it again. Agencies in the Google Partners program need certified staff, which is why recruiters often ask for it.

Its limit for a company is what it does not do. It teaches what Google wants you to do, not always what serves your budget: nobody will tell you when to turn down an automatic recommendation. Use it as the base, then add a live class or a mentor if your team runs real budgets.

Standout features
  • Free courses and certifications
  • The official Google Ads certification
  • One track per campaign type
  • New Google features first
+Pros
  • ✓No cost, even for a whole team
  • ✓The credential agencies and recruiters ask for
  • ✓The ideal test before paying for training
−Cons
  • ✗No trainer and no review of your account
  • ✗Must be renewed every year
  • ✗Teaches Google's view, not an independent one
Verdict

Where every team should start, and the right test before paying for training. It will not replace a trainer who looks at your actual campaigns.

By role and team

Which Google Ads training for your role, team size and level?

By role

  • Small business owner running your own ads: start with Skillshop to learn the vocabulary, then take Noble Desktop's live bootcamp if you are in the US or Media Training's Intro day in the UK.
  • Marketing manager training a team: a private Jellyfish session for five people or more, or Noble Desktop's onsite private training in the US.
  • PPC specialist or acquisition manager: Media Training's Advanced day for a live tune-up, or the 24 hours of the Modern Marketing Institute for depth.
  • Agency account manager: the Skillshop certifications, since Google Partners agencies need certified staff, plus a live class to handle client questions.
  • Manager who oversees an agency: Skillshop's free Search course is enough to understand what you are paying for.
  • SEO specialist moving into paid search: read our ranking of SEO training to see how the two skill sets connect.

By team size and level

  • The whole company, for a shared foundation: Skillshop, then the Search certification for anyone who touches the account.
  • Five people or more: a private Jellyfish session in the UK, or private onsite training from Noble Desktop in the US.
  • One or two people: a public class (from £349 + VAT at Media Training, £499 at Jellyfish, $395 for a day at ONLC if booked early, $650 at Noble Desktop) or the $249.99 self-paced course.
  • Beginners: Jellyfish, Media Training Intro or Noble Desktop. Experienced users: Media Training Advanced or the Modern Marketing Institute.
  • Someone who needs a credential: the free Google Ads certification. Completion certificates from paid courses prove attendance, not skill.
  • A marketing team that needs the bigger picture: our ranking of digital marketing training covers social ads and SEO too.
Buyer's guide

How to choose Google Ads training, and get it paid for

Before comparing curricula, answer three questions: how many people need training, what level they start from, and whether they need a live trainer or can learn alone. Here is what we noticed comparing the offers, and the traps that come up again and again.

The Google Ads certification is free, and it expires

The credential recruiters and agencies ask for is the Google Ads certification on Skillshop. It is free. You need 80% on a 75-minute assessment, you can retake it the next day, and it stays valid for one year. Paid courses give you a certificate of completion or attendance: it proves you showed up, not that you passed Google's exam. Our tip: have your team take the free certification on top of any paid course.

Live or self-paced: decide on who reviews the work

The real difference between a $249.99 video course and a $650 live bootcamp is not the content, it is feedback. In a live class of eight, a trainer can look at your account. In a video course, nobody does. If your team spends real money every month, the live hours pay for themselves the first time a trainer spots a wasted budget. If you are learning before you spend, self-paced is fine.

Training a team: when a private session makes sense

Jellyfish draws the line clearly: public classes for up to four people from one company, a private session from five. Media Training and Noble Desktop also offer private training at your office or online, on quote. A private session lets the trainer work on your own account and your own campaigns. Ask for that explicitly in the quote.

Buying for a team

Count heads before you compare prices. Up to four people from one company can join a Jellyfish public class at £499 each ex VAT; from five, Jellyfish sells a private session. Media Training keeps its classes small, eight people at most in London and six online, and also trains in private. Noble Desktop has a Corporate Training offer on quote. Ask each one for a single invoice to the company and a session built on your own account.

Getting your employer to pay

In the US, employer-sponsored training can be tax-free for you up to $5,250 a year under a Section 127 educational assistance program. Bring a short business case: the course page, the price, the dates, and what you will change in the account afterwards. A live bootcamp with a free retake, like Noble Desktop's, is easy to justify because the company buys a year of updates, not one class.

Spotting a course that just repeats Skillshop

A paid course should give you what Skillshop does not: a trainer, real cases, and an independent view of Google's automatic recommendations. Before you buy, check whether exercises run on a real account, whether Performance Max and conversion tracking are covered, and whether the course was updated recently. A course that only walks through the interface is not worth paying for.

Udemy, CXL, Growth Tribe: why they are not ranked

You will see them in search results. Udemy is a marketplace: the price shown on a course changes with its frequent promotions, so there is no stable price to compare, and its certificate of completion has no value as a certification. Isaac Rudansky's best-known Google Ads course sits there; his own Modern Marketing Institute course, with a fixed price, is ranked instead. CXL's Google Ads course page does not show a standalone price, which appears only on third-party sites. Webucator does not publish a price on its course page; Loves Data, which does ($225 USD), is now ranked. Growth Tribe's course page redirected in a loop. ClickMinded's course page returned an error.
  • How many people need training
  • Their starting level
  • Live trainer or self-paced
  • Exercises on a real account

FAQ

Google Ads training: the questions people ask

  • What is the best Google Ads training?

It depends on who you train. For a live class in the US, Noble Desktop's bootcamp ($650 for 12 hours). For a UK team, Jellyfish's one-day course (£499 per person) or a private session. For self-paced depth, the Modern Marketing Institute ($249.99 for 24 hours). Tip: have everyone take Skillshop first, then pick the paid course based on the gaps it reveals.

  • How much does Google Ads training cost?

From free (Google Skillshop) to $225 to $249.99 for a self-paced course (Loves Data, Modern Marketing Institute), £349 to £499 + VAT for a one-day class in London, and $650 for a 12-hour live bootcamp in the US. Private team sessions are priced on quote.

  • Is the Google Ads certification free?

Yes. Skillshop's courses and certifications are free. You need 80% or more on a 75-minute assessment, and the certification stays valid for one year.

  • How long does it take to learn Google Ads?

One day to understand Search (Jellyfish, Media Training), 12 hours of live training to run campaigns (Noble Desktop), and 24 hours of video for real depth (Modern Marketing Institute). Tip: block one hour a week for a month after the course to apply what you learned, or it fades.

  • Is a Google Ads certificate worth it for a job?

The Google Ads certification is: it is free and recruiters know it. A paid course certificate of completion proves attendance, not skill. What really counts is the results you can show from an account you managed.

  • Can I take Google Ads training online?

Yes. Noble Desktop, Jellyfish, Media Training and ONLC run live online classes, and the Modern Marketing Institute and Skillshop are entirely self-paced.

  • How do I get my employer to pay for Google Ads training?

In the US, an employer can pay up to $5,250 a year of your education tax-free under an educational assistance program (Section 127). In the UK, Jellyfish and Media Training sell private sessions invoiced to the company, so one quote can cover the whole team. Bring a short business case to your manager: the course page, the price, and what you will change in the account afterwards.

  • Is Google Skillshop enough to learn Google Ads?

To learn the vocabulary and get certified, yes. To manage a real budget, usually not: nobody reviews your account or tells you which automatic recommendation to turn down. That is what a trainer or a mentor adds.
