What is the best corporate entity management software in 2026?
Five platforms compared on the job a legal team actually does: keeping a clean record of every entity, its officers, its owners and its board.
The short answer: for a group with dozens of subsidiaries and a board to run, DiliTrust pairs an entity repository with a board portal that drafts the minutes for you. For a legal team that wants a dedicated entity platform priced by the number of entities, Athennian is the one users rate highest. If you already sit in the Wolters Kluwer world, Legisway Entities draws ownership charts with beneficial owners. MinuteBox publishes the clearest scope: you know how many entities and write users each tier covers before you call sales. And if your group owns French companies, Axiocap keeps their statutory registers the French way.
Entity management software is the system of record for your legal entities: who the directors and officers are, who owns what, which filings and meetings are coming up, and where the signed resolutions live. We compared the vendors' official pages, the pricing they publish (almost none publish a number) and the few public user reviews.

The 5 entity management platforms compared
Every tool in this table keeps a central record of multiple legal entities, which is the core of this category. The rank follows fit with entity management first, then the score, so a higher score can sit lower. The extra column says what each one does better than the rest. Click a tool to read its card.

How we compared and ranked
We started from a legal ops week in a group with forty entities: a bank asking for a certified list of directors by Friday, a subsidiary in another country whose annual filing is due, a board meeting to prepare, and an acquirer's due diligence list that wants every resolution signed since incorporation. For each platform, we checked one thing on the vendor's own pages first: does it keep a central, maintained record of many entities, and is it scoped or priced by entity? Then we looked at governance (board meetings, minutes, ownership).
A tool only enters the ranking if that core is confirmed on an official page. Diligent Entities, CSC Entity Management, Carta and Pulley are well known, but we could only read their features or prices on third-party directories, so they stay out of the ranking. The rank follows fit with the entity management job first, then the score. That's why Axiocap, with a higher score, sits fifth here: it is the best tool for French companies, and only relevant to you if you own some. A tool keeps the same score across all our pages; for DiliTrust and Legisway, the score covers the vendor's whole suite.
The weights are not equal. Features weigh the most, because a platform that can't hold your entity data cleanly won't survive the first due diligence.

DiliTrust
DiliTrust is a French vendor of legal software, and two of its modules matter here: entity management and the Board Portal. The score you see is the one we give the whole DiliTrust suite, identical on every page where it appears.
The entity module keeps a single, up-to-date repository of your companies, with history: who ran which subsidiary, and since when. For a group of thirty entities, that replaces the spreadsheet three lawyers update on their own. The Board Portal handles the meeting side: agenda, board pack, the meeting itself, voting, and minutes generated automatically. DiliTrust shows ISO 27001 certification, two-factor authentication and encryption on its site, and ships an AI assistant called Lini. It also bought DoeLegal, a US enterprise legal management vendor, which signals a push into the American market.
The limit: the official page doesn't detail shareholder registers, equity ledgers or statutory filings per jurisdiction. DiliTrust is strongest on the board and the group map. Ask to see a subsidiary's full record and its filing calendar in the demo. And it is an enterprise platform on custom quote, so it's heavy for a company with three entities.
- Entity repository with history
- Board Portal with voting and auto-generated minutes
- ISO 27001, two-factor authentication
- Same vendor for contracts and entities
- ✓The most complete board workflow in this list
- ✓One vendor for entities, board and contracts
- ✓Security credentials stated on the official site
- ✗No public pricing
- ✗Shareholder registers not detailed on the official page
- ✗Oversized for a small group
Our top pick for a group that runs a real board and wants entity data next to it. If you have no board to speak of, a dedicated entity platform like Athennian is a better fit.
Athennian
Athennian is a Canadian platform built for one job: entity management. Unlike DiliTrust or Legisway, it isn't a module in a wider legal suite, which shows in how users talk about it. Public user reviews give it 4.8 out of 5 across 43 reviews (their score, not ours: ours is 4.2), where most competitors have a handful. Its official site describes a single source of truth for complex global entity structures: directors, officers, ownership charts and the minute book.
The pricing page is honest about how you'll be charged: by the number of entities you manage, on request. That's the right unit for this kind of tool. A team with 80 entities and a team with 800 don't do the same work, and seat-based pricing would hide that.
Two limits come up again and again in reviews. Migrating your data out of the old system (spreadsheets, a legacy tool, paper minute books) is hard, and some users report friction with electronic filing. There is no free trial either. Budget time for the migration and ask the vendor who does the data loading, and at what cost.
- Built only for entity management
- Priced by number of entities
- Strong public user ratings
- Serves in-house teams and law firms
- ✓Focused product, not a module in a suite
- ✓Billing unit that matches the work
- ✓Users praise the day-to-day experience
- ✗No published price
- ✗Data migration from a legacy system is the pain point users cite
- ✗No free trial
The pick for a team whose daily work is entity records, not board meetings. Get the migration scoped in writing before you sign.
Legisway
Legisway is Wolters Kluwer's suite for in-house legal teams, and its Entities module handles the group structure. You centralize subsidiaries, branches, joint ventures, holding companies and foreign entities. The tool draws exportable org charts with ownership percentages and beneficial owners, links each entity to its contracts, disputes and financial documents, alerts you before deadlines and keeps an audit trail. It's built for multiple jurisdictions and group consolidation.
For meetings, Wolters Kluwer bought easyQuorum in 2021 and attached it to Legisway: board meetings, shareholder meetings, electronic voting, and a Microsoft Teams integration. The score shown is the one we give the Legisway suite, the same on all our pages.
The limit: users say they depend on support for simple admin tasks such as adding or removing a user, and that connecting it to other software is hard. Some review sites still list it under its old name, Effacts, so search both names.
- Ownership charts with beneficial owners
- Entities linked to contracts and disputes
- Multi-jurisdiction, audit trail
- Board and shareholder meetings with easyQuorum
- ✓Best ownership visualization in this list
- ✓Backed by a major legal publisher
- ✓Entity, contract and dispute data in one place
- ✗No public pricing
- ✗User admin relies on support
- ✗Integrations with other tools reported as difficult
The right tool when regulators, banks or auditors keep asking for your ownership chart. If board meetings are the bigger headache, DiliTrust goes further.
MinuteBox
MinuteBox is another Canadian entity management platform (global entity management, minute books, statutory registers), and its pricing page is the most useful one in this category even though it shows no dollar amount. Each tier spells out how many entities and how many write users it covers. That lets you size your tier before you talk to anyone.
For corporate legal teams, Starter covers 50 entities and 2 write users, Starter Plus 400 entities and 3 users, Small Enterprise 1,000 entities and 5 users, and Enterprise starts at 1,250 entities with 10 users. Law firms get their own ladder (300, 700, 4,000 and more than 4,000 entities) with unlimited users, which suits a firm that keeps the records of many client companies. Everything is billed annually.
The limit: the write-user caps on corporate tiers are tight. Two people who can edit records is fine for a small team, not for a legal ops function with five paralegals. We also found fewer public reviews than for Athennian, so ask for references in your own sector.
- Entity and write-user limits listed per tier
- Separate law firm tiers with unlimited users
- Scales from 50 to 4,000+ entities
- Annual billing
- ✓You can size your tier before talking to sales
- ✓Law firm offer with unlimited users
- ✓Pricing unit tied to entities
- ✗No dollar amount published
- ✗Only 2 to 5 write users on the smaller corporate tiers
- ✗Fewer public reviews than Athennian
A good pick for a law firm that keeps client minute books, thanks to unlimited users. For a corporate team, count your editors first: the write-user cap decides your tier as much as the entity count.
Axiocap
French companies come with paperwork a US or UK entity tool doesn't handle: a register of shareholder decisions, an attendance register and, for SAS and SA companies, a register of share transfers. Axiocap (formerly MonJuridique.infogreffe) keeps all of them online. Infogreffe, the network of French commercial court registries, holds a stake in the company, and company data flows in from it.
The platform runs shareholder meetings end to end: electronic notice, online voting, attendance sheet, digital minutes and advanced electronic signature. Its securities management module keeps the share transfer register online, and the vendor announces blockchain time-stamping for it. Pricing is based on the number of companies you manage.
Why fifth with a 4.4? Because this ranking is about managing entities in general, and Axiocap only makes sense if you own French companies. If you do, it's the most complete tool for them. If you don't, skip it. Few public reviews exist, so judge the service in a demo.
- French statutory registers online
- Shareholder meetings with online voting and signed minutes
- Company data from the French registries
- Priced by number of companies
- ✓The most complete tool for French corporate housekeeping
- ✓Backed by the French registry network
- ✓Built for multi-company groups
- ✗Only relevant for French companies
- ✗No amount on the pricing page
- ✗Very few public reviews
Add it next to your main entity platform if your group owns French SAS or SA companies. On its own, it won't cover your US or UK entities.
Before you buy: entity management, cap table or board portal?
The category is muddled, and most buying mistakes come from mixing three different tools. Entity management keeps the record of each company. A cap table tool tracks equity, option grants and investors. A board portal runs meetings. Some vendors do two of the three; none of the platforms we compared is equally strong on all of them.
You have many entities and few board meetings
You need a clean system of record above all. Athennian or MinuteBox, priced by entity count. Use MinuteBox's published tiers to size your need, then get quotes from both.
Your board is the hard part
Board packs, votes and minutes take most of your time. DiliTrust combines the entity repository with a Board Portal that generates the minutes, so the record and the meeting stay linked.
Ownership is what people keep asking for
Banks, auditors and regulators want your ownership chart and beneficial owners. Legisway Entities draws and exports it, and easyQuorum covers shareholder meetings in the same suite.
You track investors and option grants
That's a cap table job, not entity management. See our cap table ranking, and keep your entity platform for the corporate record.
- The billing unit: per entity, per write user, or per module? Model the cost at your entity count in three years.
- Who loads your existing data, in what format, and at what price.
- How many people can edit records on the tier you are quoted.
- Which jurisdictions the vendor actually supports for filings and registers.
- A full export of records and documents if you leave.
- Whether the security certification (ISO 27001 or SOC 2) is stated on the vendor's own site.
Six tips to roll out entity management without the usual pain
Most complaints we found are not about features. They're about migration, tier ceilings and renamed products. Here's what avoids them.
The tips
Scope the data migration before you sign
RolloutUsers of entity platforms name migration from the old system as the hardest part of the project. Before signing, list what has to move: entities, officers and directors with dates, ownership history, past resolutions as PDFs. Ask the vendor to quote the loading work in writing, with a date. A cheaper licence with a painful migration is not cheaper.
- To quote
- Entities, officers, ownership history, documents
Count your editors, not just your entities
PricingMinuteBox's corporate tiers cap write users at 2, 3, 5 and 10. Two editors is fine for a small team, not for legal ops with several paralegals. List who will change records and who will only read them, then pick the tier on the larger of the two constraints.
- MinuteBox Starter
- 50 entities, 2 write users
Keep the cap table in its own tool
ScopeUsers have moved from Carta to Pulley over price and support responsiveness, which shows how separate that market is. An entity platform that also claims to run your option plan is rarely the best at both. Keep the corporate record in the entity tool and the equity in a cap table tool, and agree on which one is the source of truth for share counts.
- Rule
- One source of truth per data type
Search old product names before comparing
ResearchThis market renames products often. Diligent Entities was Blueprint OneWorld, Legisway was Effacts on some review sites, easyQuorum now lives inside Legisway and Axiocap used to be MonJuridique.infogreffe. Search both names to find every review, and ask what happens to customers of the old product.
- Blueprint OneWorld
- now Diligent Entities
- Effacts
- now Legisway
Read vendor ROI studies for what they are
BuyingYou'll see figures like a 318% return on investment in this category. That one comes from a study commissioned by the vendor. It may be useful as a list of benefits to check, but build your own case from your hours spent on filings, board packs and due diligence requests.
- Trust
- Your own numbers first
Add a local tool for French subsidiaries
InternationalA global entity platform tracks your French subsidiary's officers and filings. It won't keep the French registers of decisions and share transfers that the law requires there. If you own French SAS or SA companies, either your local counsel keeps them, or you add Axiocap for those entities only.
- French registers
- Decisions, attendance, share transfers

Frequently asked questions about entity management software
What does entity management software do?
It keeps the official record of every legal entity you own: officers and directors, ownership, key dates, filings and signed documents. Good platforms add deadline alerts and an audit trail, so you can answer a bank or an auditor in minutes instead of days.
How much does entity management software cost?
None of the five vendors we compared publishes a dollar price. Athennian and MinuteBox price by number of entities, Axiocap by number of companies, DiliTrust and Legisway on custom quote. MinuteBox at least lists what each tier covers, which helps you ask for the right quote.
What is the difference between entity management and a board portal?
Entity management holds the record of each company. A board portal runs the meetings: board pack, voting, minutes. DiliTrust offers both, Legisway pairs its Entities module with easyQuorum for meetings. Most groups need the record before the portal.
Is a cap table tool enough for entity management?
No. A cap table tracks equity and grants inside one company; it doesn't track officers, filings or subsidiaries across jurisdictions. Use both if you have investors and several entities, with a clear source of truth for share counts.
How long does it take to move to an entity management platform?
It depends mostly on your data, and migration is the step users complain about most. Ask the vendor to quote the data loading separately, and start with the entities that face the most filings or the next due diligence.
Why is Diligent Entities not in this ranking?
Because we could only read its features and price on third-party directories, not on a Diligent page we could verify. It is a known name for large international groups. Ask for a demo and a written quote if it's on your shortlist.
Can I manage French subsidiaries in a US entity platform?
You can track their officers and filings, but not the French statutory registers of decisions and share transfers. For those, a French tool such as Axiocap, or your local counsel, still does the job.
