What is the best farm management software in 2026?

The one built for what you grow and how big you are. A homestead, a 2,000-acre grain operation and a cattle feeder need three different tools.

You want your field records, spray logs and costs out of notebooks and spreadsheets. The trouble is that most lists of farm software put a backyard homestead app next to enterprise platforms sold through a sales team. They don't solve the same problem, and they don't price the same way.

The short answer: MyEasyFarm is the best pick for crop farms with connected ISOBUS machinery, at a flat €470 a year. Agroptima is the easiest to use from your phone when you farm many small blocks (vineyards, orchards, vegetables). Farmbrite is the best all-in-one for small and diversified farms, from $29 a month. AGRIVI fits large operations, food companies and input suppliers that need a scoped enterprise rollout. Breedr is the specialist for livestock weight gain.

We ranked them by farm profile first, then by price model. That's the only fair way to compare tools when two of the five never publish a price.

How we scored

How we compared and scored

The top results for this search are software directories and vendor blogs. They list fifteen or twenty tools, mix homestead apps with enterprise platforms, and rarely say what you'll actually pay. Some are written by a vendor that ranks itself first.

We read each vendor's official pricing and product pages, then user reviews on public review sites, looking hardest for complaints: weak mobile apps, add-on fees, auto-renewals, prices you can't see before a sales call.

Granular and Trimble's farm software are left out. We couldn't read a public price for either, and Trimble's farm tools now sit under the PTx brand and are sold through dealers. We don't rank a tool without a verified price model. Mes Parcelles and Smag Farmer, the market leaders in France, are left out too: they're sold through French farm advisory bodies and co-ops.

Features weigh most, because a missing spray record or a wrong nutrient plan costs more than a subscription. Support weighs as much as price: your first season depends on onboarding.

By farm profile

Pick your software by farm profile

Start with what you produce and how big you are. Features come second, because every tool here keeps field records. What differs is who it's built for.

01

Grain and row crops with modern machinery: MyEasyFarm

Profile 1

If your tractors run ISOBUS terminals, pick the software that talks to them. MyEasyFarm sends variable-rate maps to the cab and pulls back what was actually applied. At €470 a year, the price is known before you call anyone.

Crops and herd on the same farm: two tools

Profile 6

One tool rarely does both well. On a small farm, Farmbrite's Complete plan ($59 a month) covers crops and livestock. On a bigger one, keep a crop tool for fields and add Breedr for the herd.

Best for connected machinery

MyEasyFarm

4.1/5

MyEasyFarm is a French farm software company, ISOBUS certified since 2018. In practice, your software talks to the tractor terminal: you build a variable-rate map in the office, it goes to the cab, and the as-applied data comes back. It also connects through agrirouter, the data exchange platform shared by several machinery brands.

Its pricing is refreshingly simple: €470 a year before VAT for the Farmer plan. That covers automated records and reports, staff management, planning, map analysis and cost tracking. Farm advisory chambers in eastern France picked it for their members, which says something about its compliance side.

The limit: it's built for crops and machinery. A livestock farm or a market garden will use a fraction of what it pays for. Prices are in euros, and support comes from the vendor, not from a local agronomist.

Tip: check your terminal's compatibility during the 30-day trial, before you pay. Custom operators should ask for the Contractor plan, with a driver app, work orders and live tracking.

Standout features
  • ISOBUS certified
  • Flat €470 a year
  • Plan for custom operators
+Pros
  • ✓Variable-rate maps sent to the tractor
  • ✓Staff management included
  • ✓30-day trial without a card
−Cons
  • ✗Less useful without connected machinery
  • ✗Weak for livestock
  • ✗Priced in euros
Verdict

The best pick if your tractors are connected and you want a price you know upfront. Without ISOBUS machinery, Agroptima is simpler.

Easiest from your phone

Agroptima

4.1/5

Agroptima is a Spanish vendor built around its mobile app, with offers in Spain and France. Every plan counts fields without limit and includes the app, spray records and inventory. Pro adds nutrient planning, spray alerts and income and expense tracking. In Spain, the John Deere Operations Center connection is available from the Basic plan.

Reviewers praise the support above all, rated 4.7 out of 5 on Spanish review sites, and the help with subsidy paperwork. One account can hold several farms. There's no long-term commitment in Spain, and you can export your data.

The limit is price visibility. Everything is quoted, and some users regret that the cost module is an add-on. It's also built around European compliance records, so a US farm won't use part of what it pays for.

Tip: come to the quote with three numbers: your acreage, your number of users and the plan you need. If cost tracking matters, ask for Pro directly instead of adding a module later.

Standout features
  • Unlimited fields
  • Highly rated support
  • John Deere connection
+Pros
  • ✓Fast to learn on a phone
  • ✓Inventory and spray records from Basic
  • ✓Several farms in one account
−Cons
  • ✗Quote only
  • ✗Cost module costs extra
  • ✗Built for European compliance
Verdict

The easiest app for logging work in the field when you farm many small blocks. For a flat price and tractor maps, MyEasyFarm is ahead.

Best for small farms

Farmbrite

3.9/5

Farmbrite is a US farm management tool built for small and diversified farms. It tracks animals, crops, tasks, sales and expenses, with a year-end profit and loss report that users single out. Its reviews are strong: 4.7 out of 5 on a major software review site, from a small number of reviews.

Do the yearly math. Complete Essentials costs $590 a year against $708 paid monthly, a $118 difference. But the annual plan renews automatically, so cancel before the renewal date if you're unsure.

The limits are real. The entry tier caps you at 300 active animals. Users want a better mobile app, with receipt photos from the phone, and find expense entry slow. It also fits large row-crop acreage poorly.

Tip: start with Crops or Livestock alone and move to Complete only when you actually run both. The jump from $29 to $59 a month is easy to make for features you won't use.

Standout features
  • Public pricing
  • Detailed animal records
  • Year-end P&L report
+Pros
  • ✓Animals, crops and sales together
  • ✓14-day trial without a card
  • ✓Simple accounting module
−Cons
  • ✗Limited mobile app
  • ✗300 active animals on the entry tier
  • ✗Weak for large crop acreage
Verdict

The best all-in-one for a small or diversified farm. For a large herd focused on weight gain, Breedr goes deeper.

4
Best for enterprise rollouts

AGRIVI

3.8/5

AGRIVI 360 is a farm management platform for organizations, not for a single family farm. It covers farms, growers, fields and seasons, crop planning, work orders, workforce, machinery and input inventory. It adds weather, satellite data, scouting and pest risk, then harvest records, yield analysis and budget against actual costs by crop, field and acre.

Two points stand out. Traceability can run from field practices to a consumer QR code. And the mobile data collection works offline, which matters on remote fields. There are also APIs for integration with your other systems.

The limits are just as clear. There's no public price: AGRIVI sells through a scoped proposal. The vendor also says plainly that it doesn't replace an ERP, and that its compliance records don't certify you.

Tip: use the vendor's ROI calculator as a conversation starter, not a promise, and ask for the scope in writing before the proposal.

Standout features
  • Traceability to a consumer QR code
  • Offline mobile data collection
  • APIs for integration
+Pros
  • ✓Built for many growers
  • ✓Budget against actual cost per field
  • ✓Weather and satellite data
−Cons
  • ✗No public price
  • ✗Too big for a single farm
  • ✗Doesn't replace an ERP
Verdict

The right fit for a food company or a large operation running a grower program. A single farm is better served by MyEasyFarm or Farmbrite.

Best for livestock performance

Breedr

3.7/5

Breedr is a livestock tool, not a whole-farm system. It's built around weighing animals by EID tag and keeping treatment records, so you can see which animals are gaining and which aren't. Pricing follows herd size, which is easy to budget: $35 a month covers 300 head, so $420 a year.

The Trial plan, at $2 a month for up to 50 head, is the cheapest way in this ranking to replace a paper herd book. You can grow into Pro and Premium as the herd grows, up to 2,000 head.

The limit is scope. Breedr won't handle your fields, inputs or crop records. On a mixed farm, it sits next to a crop tool.

Tip: count your peak head count, not your average, before you pick a tier. A feeder that fills up in autumn can cross the 300-head line for a few months.

Standout features
  • EID tag weighing
  • Price by herd size
  • Tier at $2 a month
+Pros
  • ✓Weight gain per animal
  • ✓Treatment records
  • ✓Easy to budget
−Cons
  • ✗No crop or field records
  • ✗Needs EID equipment to shine
  • ✗Separate tool on a mixed farm
Verdict

The specialist for livestock performance. For a few animals alongside vegetables, Farmbrite covers more in one place.

Real cost

What farm software really costs

Three price models. A flat yearly fee (MyEasyFarm), a monthly plan by size (Farmbrite by tier, Breedr by head), or a quote (Agroptima, AGRIVI). The same farm can pay very different amounts depending on the model.

The prices you can read

Breedr Trial: $24 a year for 50 head. Farmbrite Crops or Livestock: $290 a year. Breedr Plus for 300 head: $420 a year. MyEasyFarm Farmer: €470 a year before VAT. Farmbrite Complete Essentials: $590 a year. Everything else is a quote.

The hidden costs

Add-on modules (cost tracking at Agroptima). Herd or animal caps that push you up a tier (300 animals at Farmbrite's entry level, 300 head on Breedr Plus). Annual plans that renew on their own (Farmbrite). Tractor compatibility you only check after paying.

What the software won't do

None of these tools replace your accounting software or your payroll. Farmbrite's accounting module suits a small farm; for anything bigger, budget a real accounting tool on top.
  • Write down your acreage, peak head count and number of users before any sales call.
  • Ask whether the mobile app works offline, then check it in airplane mode.
  • List the modules you really need: cost tracking, staff, inventory.
  • Check your tractor terminal's compatibility during the trial.
  • Make sure you can export your records to a spreadsheet.
  • Put the renewal date and the cancellation notice in your calendar.

Six steps to make it pay off this season

Farm software pays for itself through daily logging. These steps come from what users say goes wrong most often.

01

Map your fields once, at the desk

Before

Draw or import your field boundaries on a big screen at the start of the season. Once that's done, every job can be logged from your phone.

When
Start of season
02

Enter your starting input inventory

Before

Seed, fertilizer, chemicals: without a starting stock, the software can't count down what you apply or warn you before you run out. An hour in the shed with your phone does it.

Time
1 hour
03

Log the job at the field edge

During

By evening you've forgotten the rate or the time. Log it while the sprayer fills, and check the field's acreage before you set the rate.

Rule

04

Weigh on a fixed rhythm

During

Weight gain only shows if you weigh at regular intervals. Pick a rhythm that matches your handling days and stick to it.

05

Export your records every quarter

After

Export your spray and input records to a spreadsheet and keep a copy outside the software. If you switch tools or face an audit, your data is in hand.

06

Review cost per field after harvest

Cost per field and yield per field are where the software earns its fee. Sit down with the numbers before you plan next year's rotation.

FAQ · 8 questions

Best farm management software · FAQ

  • Is there free farm management software?
Not among the tools in this ranking. What you get instead is a free trial: 30 days at MyEasyFarm, 15 days at Agroptima and 14 days at Farmbrite. MyEasyFarm and Farmbrite don't ask for a card. Breedr's Trial plan costs $2 a month for up to 50 head, the cheapest way to keep records on a small herd.
  • What is the best farm management software for a small farm or homestead?
Farmbrite. It tracks animals, crops, tasks, sales and expenses in one place, with public prices starting at $29 a month. The annual plan saves money (Complete Essentials is $590 a year instead of $708 month to month), but it renews on its own, so cancel before the renewal date if you change your mind.
  • Do I need separate software for crops and livestock?
Often, yes. Crop tools like MyEasyFarm and Agroptima handle fields, inputs and spray records well and herds poorly. Farmbrite's Complete plan covers both on a small farm. For weight gain on a larger herd, Breedr is built around EID tag weighing and treatment records.
  • How much does farm management software cost?
For a small farm, from $24 a year (Breedr Trial, 50 head) to $1,090 a year (Farmbrite's top Complete tier). MyEasyFarm Farmer is €470 a year before VAT, and Breedr Premium for 2,000 head is $235 a month. Agroptima and AGRIVI quote on request, and the quote depends on your acreage, your users or your whole organization.
  • Can I log field work without cell coverage?
With AGRIVI, yes: its mobile data collection works offline and syncs later. For any other tool, ask for a demo in airplane mode before you sign. Logging a spray pass in a dead zone, then syncing it, tells you more than any feature list.
  • Does farm management software connect to my tractor?
MyEasyFarm does it best in this ranking. It has been ISOBUS certified since 2018, sends variable-rate maps to the tractor terminal and connects through agrirouter. Agroptima connects to the John Deere Operations Center on its Premium plan in France, and from its Basic plan in Spain.
  • Will farm software replace my accounting tool?
Usually not. Farmbrite has a simple accounting module ($119 a year on its own) and a year-end profit and loss report, which works for a small farm. Crop record tools track costs per field, not your books. Keep a real accounting tool for taxes and payroll.
  • What do farmers complain about most?
Hidden costs and weak mobile apps. Farmbrite users miss receipt photos from the phone and find expense entry slow. Agroptima users regret paying extra for the cost module. Enterprise tools like AGRIVI never show a price. Read the plan limits, like Farmbrite's 300 active animals on its entry tier, before you commit.
