What is the best upsell app for ecommerce in 2026?
The one that covers the moment your customer hesitates, without billing you for every order in the store. On Shopify, ReConvert covers every placement for $39.99 at most up to 500 orders; on WooCommerce, pick FunnelKit; on PrestaShop, the HiPresta module.
An upsell app shows the extra offer at the right spot: the product page, the cart drawer, the checkout, or right after payment, when the card is already on file and one click adds the item. Upsell means the bigger size or the better version; cross-sell means the matching product. Most apps here do both.
We compared nine apps using their official pricing pages, their docs and the one-star reviews merchants leave. The first trap is not in the feature list. It is in the bill: half these apps count every order your store takes, including the ones where nobody saw an offer. The second trap is that Shopify never shows a post-purchase offer to a buyer paying with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna or Afterpay.
Our ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link ever changes a score.

The 9 upsell apps compared
The full ranking. The "bill at 500 orders" column shows what a store doing 500 orders a month pays each month, before payment gateway fees. It says nothing about what the app earns you: that depends on your margin and your offers.

How we compared and scored
Almost every top result for this query is written by an app vendor that ranks its own app first. They cover Shopify only, quote old prices (ReConvert at $4.99 plus 0.75% is gone), and never say what the bill is based on. None of them list the payment methods that block post-purchase offers.
We read the official price grids, Shopify's developer docs on post-purchase offers, the one-star reviews of four apps, and Shopify Community threads. Every price is brought back to two stores: 500 and 2,000 orders a month. For AfterSell and UpCart, scores and prices match our full Labs reviews.
Three apps are not ranked. Rebuy is on sale from $25 a month per module, but its Shopify App Store listing has shown it as unavailable and the install path is unclear, so we will wait. Bold Upsell charges a cut of the revenue it generates, but its new price grid is not published. CartFlows, on WooCommerce, does not show readable prices on its official pricing page.
Value for money weighs the most. An upsell app is judged by its sixth-month bill against the margin it actually added.

ReConvert
ReConvert, built by Upsell.com in New York since 2018, is the most reviewed app in this list with 3,128 reviews on the Shopify App Store. It covers the product page, the cart, the one-click post-purchase offer, the thank-you page and the order status page. AI recommendations, frequently-bought-together bundles and A/B tests come with every plan.
Pricing needs care, because two official grids coexist. The Shopify App Store listing, which is what bills you, shows a free plan up to 50 orders or $50 of upsell revenue, then $9.99 up to 100 orders, $19.99 up to 200 and $39.99 up to 500. The vendor's own site shows Growth free up to 2,000 orders, then Scale from $299. Check the plan offered at install: that is the one you will pay. Either way, the basis is the higher of two numbers, your orders or your upsell revenue. Plenty of roundups still show the old $4.99 plus 0.75% plan, which no longer exists.
One-star reviews describe charges after uninstalling or after the trial, automatic moves to a higher tier, and refused refunds. One merchant says the app made $40 while costing $150. Others report offers from other brands showing up without consent.
- $39.99 max up to 500 orders
- Same features on every plan
- Custom order status page
- ✓Widest free plan in the ranking
- ✓Five placements, from product page to order tracking
- ✓AI recommendations and A/B tests included
- ✗Two different official grids: check at install
- ✗Billing complaints after uninstalling
- ✗In-checkout offers need Shopify Plus
The first app to try for a Shopify store under 500 orders a month: every placement for $39.99 at most, and a 14-day trial to learn whether your buyers take an offer. Read the plan Shopify shows you before approving. Watch your counter before a big sale month, and check your Shopify bill after any uninstall.
Candy Rack
Candy Rack, from Digismoothie in Prague, bets on the moment a shopper clicks add to cart. A pop-up offers the accessory, the extended warranty or the upgrade. It covers eight placements in total across product page, cart, checkout and post-purchase. The cart drawer is included, so are quantity discounts, and the storefront runs in 13 languages.
Pricing follows online orders: $29.99 up to 50, $39.99 up to 200, $59.99 up to 500. There is no free plan for a live store. Upsell revenue is never billed, though, and Digismoothie refunds within 60 days: the longest guarantee in this ranking. AI mode, powered by Gemini, picks products, and A/B tests run through Intelligems.
The catch: Digismoothie also publishes one of the best-ranked upsell roundups, which puts Candy Rack first. Nothing wrong with that, but read it knowing who wrote it. Negative reviews mostly target the free plan terms, which only apply to development stores.
- 60-day refund window
- Cart drawer included
- 13 storefront languages
- ✓Upsell revenue never billed
- ✓Polished add-to-cart pop-up
- ✓AI mode and quantity breaks
- ✗No free plan for live stores
- ✗Already $59.99 at 500 orders
- ✗Short 8-day trial
The right pick if your upsell happens on the product page: options, accessories, warranties. Use the 60-day refund window to measure average order value over a full month before you commit.
Zipify OneClickUpsell
Zipify OneClickUpsell, or OCU, comes from Zipify, the US maker of Shopify sales pages. Its home turf is the one-click offer right after checkout, with funnels: if the buyer says no, a cheaper downsell steps in. It also covers the cart, product page, cart drawer, thank-you page and, on Shopify Plus, the checkout itself.
Its grid is the fairest here on one point: order volume is never billed. You pay $9.95 a month while upsells bring in under $200, $25 up to $2,500, then $149 rising with revenue, never above $999. If nobody accepts your offers, you pay the minimum. It plugs into Klaviyo, Omnisend, Recharge and Skio.
One-star reviews report offers that never fire, upsell payments not captured, duplicate orders, and a free-shipping promo switched on without warning. Larger stores call it too expensive once revenue climbs. One merchant says they paid for three years with zero revenue: uninstall what you no longer use.
- Orders never billed
- Downsell when the buyer declines
- 30-day trial
- ✓You pay on what upsells earn
- ✓Deep post-purchase funnels
- ✓Works with Klaviyo, Recharge, Skio
- ✗Bill can climb to $999 when upsells perform
- ✗Reported bugs: duplicates, offers not firing
- ✗No free plan
The best pricing model for high order volume with a small cart: AfterSell or UpCart would bill every order, Zipify only the added revenue. Place two test orders after every offer change.
Frequently Bought Together
Frequently Bought Together, by Code Black Belt, uses a recipe every shopper knows: under the product, two or three items others bought with it, a checkbox and a discount. The app's AI learns pairings from your sales, and you can override them by hand. It has been around since 2017 and has 1,214 reviews.
Pricing is low and easy to read: free for three manual bundles, then $9.99 a month up to 50 orders, $24.99 up to 500 and $39.99 above. Four discount types are available: percentage, fixed amount, free item or free shipping. Ratings from Judge.me, Loox or Yotpo show inside the bundle, which builds trust.
The limit is clear: no post-purchase offer and no checkout placement. It is a product page and cart tool. If you want post-purchase too, you need a second app and a second bill.
- Free plan for 3 bundles
- Four bundle discount types
- Shows Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo ratings
- ✓Capped at $39.99 past 500 orders
- ✓Recommendations learned from your sales
- ✓Live in minutes
- ✗No post-purchase offer
- ✗No checkout placement
- ✗Limited bundle styling
The best price-to-result ratio for raising cart value on product pages. Pair it with free ReConvert for post-purchase: together they stay under $40 a month.
Selleasy
Selleasy, by Logbase, is the most generous app on paper: its free plan allows unlimited orders and five campaigns. Paid plans never count orders either. Starter at $9 unlocks unlimited campaigns, Pro at $29 adds in-checkout offers for Shopify Plus, and Max at $59 adds a rules engine. Paying yearly saves around 15%.
It covers the product page (add-ons and frequently bought together), cart and cart drawer, the one-click post-purchase offer and the thank-you page. It has 2,765 reviews.
A security incident hit the app in 2026. Someone gained access to an internal vendor tool and injected a script that sent shoppers to a fake payment page. Logbase says it removed the script and locked the custom JavaScript setting. The app can be installed again. Some merchants left over how the incident was handled.
- Unlimited orders even on free
- No order-based billing
- 30-day trial on paid plans
- ✓Bill never tied to volume
- ✓Product page, cart and post-purchase
- ✓About 15% off yearly
- ✗Security incident in 2026
- ✗AI limits on lower plans
- ✗In-checkout offers need Shopify Plus
Unbeatable on price for a fast-growing store. Before installing, read the recent reviews on how the incident was handled, and never enable custom code you did not write yourself.
FunnelKit
On WordPress, FunnelKit is the most complete upsell plugin. It swaps WooCommerce's checkout for its own, adds an order bump right before payment, then the one-click post-purchase offer. Rules decide which shopper sees which offer. More than fifteen gateways support the single click, including Stripe, PayPal, Mollie and Braintree.
You pay yearly with no percentage on sales. Watch the entry plan: Basic, at $99.50 a year on sale, does not include one-click upsells. You need Plus, $149.50 a year on sale ($299 full price), about $12.50 a month. Professional and Elite add email automation and more sites.
The catch: you now own your checkout. A WooCommerce, theme or gateway update can break the funnel, and someone has to watch it. The sale prices on the page do not state the renewal rate: ask before you pay.
- No percentage on sales
- 15+ gateways for one-click
- Fully editable checkout
- ✓Cheapest at high volume
- ✓Order bumps and post-purchase offers
- ✓Fine-grained display rules
- ✗No one-click upsells on Basic
- ✗Renewal price to confirm
- ✗Needs someone to watch updates
The obvious choice for a WooCommerce store that wants what ReConvert or AfterSell do on Shopify. Go straight to Plus, and test your funnel after every WooCommerce update.
AfterSell
AfterSell launched in 2019 in Vancouver and has belonged to Rokt since 2024. It is the reference for one-click post-purchase offers: smart funnels with a downsell, a custom thank-you page, multivariate tests. The Pre-Purchase plan adds a cart drawer, product page offers and a free-shipping progress bar. Merchants rate it 4.9 across 1,113 reviews.
The price takes some math. Post-Purchase is $34.99 a month, then $0.05 per order past 500. That is $109.99 at 2,000 orders. And every order in your store counts, not just those that saw an offer. Rokt Thanks shows other brands' offers on your thank-you page: on the Earn & Save plan, what it earns comes off your AfterSell bill.
One-star reviews talk money: a $267.05 bill in one month from a per-order fee the merchant had not understood, years paid without use, a price hike without notice. They also talk payments: Apple Pay and Google Pay buyers never see the offer, and neither do multi-currency stores.
- Smart funnels with downsell
- Rokt Thanks can offset the bill
- 30-day trial
- ✓Most complete post-purchase offer
- ✓Cart and product page on Pre-Purchase
- ✓Responsive onboarding support
- ✗Every store order is billed
- ✗Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna excluded
- ✗Shopify only
The strongest post-purchase app, and the priciest at equal volume. Before the trial, check what share of your orders use wallets or buy now, pay later: if it is high, free ReConvert or revenue-based Zipify will do better. Full review on our AfterSell page.
UpCart
UpCart, from the same Rokt group as AfterSell, does one thing: it replaces the Shopify cart with a slide-out drawer. Inside: cross-sells picked by AI or rules, a rewards bar with up to four tiers (free shipping, discount, gift), one-click add-ons like shipping protection, and an automatic free gift. The design module goes all the way to custom code.
Every feature is on every plan. Only order count changes the price: $29.99 up to 200, $34.99 up to 500, $89.99 from 1,001 to 2,000, and up to $199.99 past 5,000. Here too, every store order counts.
Negative reviews mention charges after uninstalling, an annoying cart zoom on iPhone, duplicated gifts, add-to-cart events not reaching Klaviyo, and a clash with Shopify's latest default theme. Support starts with a bot.
- Rewards bar with up to 4 tiers
- Every feature on every plan
- Design editable down to code
- ✓Richest cart drawer here
- ✓Automatic free gift
- ✓Pairs with AfterSell for post-purchase
- ✗Billed on every order
- ✗Bot-first support
- ✗No post-purchase or product page offers
Worth it if the cart is your weak spot and you want it on-brand. Test it on an iPhone before going live. Details in our UpCart review.
Upsell & Cross Selling PRO (HiPresta)
PrestaShop has no one-click post-purchase offer like Shopify. HiPresta's Upsell & Cross Selling PRO module covers the rest: recommended product lists per product, cart blocks, a pop-up after add to cart, a cart drawer and, most useful, an offer page shown right before payment.
You pay €97.99 once and that is it: no subscription, no per-order fee. Percentage or fixed discounts are built in. It runs on PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9. The vendor site does not say whether the price includes VAT, so ask first.
Two limits. The pre-payment offer page shows once per cart, tracked by a browser cookie: a buyer who declines will not see it again. And there is no AI: you set the pairings yourself.
- One-time payment
- Offer page before payment
- PrestaShop 1.7 to 9
- ✓Cheapest over time
- ✓Product page, cart and pre-payment
- ✓Percentage or fixed discounts
- ✗No post-purchase offer
- ✗Manual pairings
- ✗VAT status not stated
The module to pick on PrestaShop. Set pairings on your twenty best sellers before switching it on: that is where most of the gain is.
What your upsell app really costs, and why the offer does not show
Three questions matter more than the feature list: what the bill is based on, which buyers actually see your offer, and what happens when you want to leave.
What the bill is based on
Buyers who see nothing
Leaving
- Work out your bill at your real volume, and at your busiest sale month.
- Check what share of orders use Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna before installing a post-purchase app.
- Get PayPal reference transactions approved so PayPal buyers see the offer.
- Place two test orders, one by card and one with Apple Pay.
- Uninstall the old app before switching on a new one.
- Check your Shopify bill on the cycle after any uninstall.
Six settings that actually lift order value
Merchants disappointed by upsells rarely picked the wrong app. They measured wrong, or offered too much. Here is what keeps coming up in Shopify Community threads.
The settings
Measure by payment method
MeasurementYour post-purchase offer skips part of your orders, and the admin does not say which. Group your last 100 orders by gateway, then compute your take rate on card and Shop Pay orders only. Many merchants call the offer a flop when it works fine wherever it shows.
- Excluded payments
- 6 wallets and BNPL methods
Keep the offer under 40% of the cart
ConversionAfter checkout, the buyer has already said yes once. An expensive offer breaks that momentum. Stay under 40% of their order, and add a cheaper downsell if they decline. A lower offer can earn more in total because more people take it. Stick to one offer plus one downsell.
- Max accepted offers
- 3 per checkout on Shopify
Set free shipping just above your AOV
CartA cart progress bar works when the goal is within reach. Set it slightly above your average order value, not at double. A close threshold nudges buyers to add a small item; a far one makes them give up on the idea.
- UpCart reward tiers
- up to 4
Watch page speed
PerformanceEvery app adds code to product and cart pages. A cart drawer packed with offers slows click response, which Google tracks as INP. Record it in Search Console before installing and again four weeks later. Never stack two apps that do the same job.
- Metric to track
- INP on product and cart
Compare flat fee and commission
PricingA cut of upsell revenue feels safe at first: you pay only if it works. Once upsells bring in several hundred dollars a month, a flat fee often comes out cheaper. Rerun the math each quarter with your real numbers, and switch plans when needed.
- Zipify above $2,500
- $149, capped at $999
Treat every script as a door
SecurityThe Selleasy incident in 2026 made it clear: an app that injects code into your store can be used to divert your buyers. Keep your app list current, remove what you no longer use, and never paste custom code someone else handed you.
- Habit
- uninstall what you do not use

Upsell apps · FAQ
What is the best upsell app for Shopify?
ReConvert for most stores under 500 orders a month: it covers every placement for $39.99 at most per its App Store listing. AfterSell remains the most complete post-purchase app, but it bills every order: $109.99 at 2,000 orders. If your upsell happens on the product page, look at Candy Rack.Is there a free upsell app for Shopify?
Yes, three serious ones. ReConvert is free up to 50 orders per its App Store listing (up to 2,000 per the vendor site: check at install), Selleasy free with unlimited orders and five campaigns, Frequently Bought Together free for three bundles. Beware of free plans limited to development stores, like AfterSell's, UpCart's and Candy Rack's: they do not work on a live store.Do I need Shopify Plus for upsells?
No, except for offers inside the checkout itself, at the information, shipping and payment steps. Shopify reserves those for Plus since checkout.liquid was shut down for those pages. Product page, cart, post-purchase and thank-you page offers work on every plan. Why is my post-purchase upsell not showing?
Because the buyer paid with a method Shopify excludes: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, a gift card, or PayPal without approved reference transactions. It also skips multi-currency orders, orders with duties, local delivery, and orders under $0.50.Can I run two upsell apps at once?
Yes, if they cover different spots. A product page app and a post-purchase app sit together fine. But Shopify allows only one active post-purchase app, and two cart drawers will clash. Each app also adds code that slows your pages. Is a commission or a flat fee better for upsell apps?
A cut of upsell revenue is safer at the start; a flat fee wins once upsells earn well. Be most careful with flat fees based on every store order: during a sale, the bill climbs even if nobody accepts. Zipify, Selleasy, FunnelKit and HiPresta never count your orders. What is the difference between upsell, cross-sell and bundles?
An upsell offers a pricier version or a larger quantity of the same product. A cross-sell offers a matching product. A bundle groups several products at a discount. The apps here do all three, but Frequently Bought Together specializes in bundles. What upsell rate should I aim for after checkout?
Measure it on offers shown, not on all orders, or wallets and buy now, pay later will drag the number down. Keep the offer under 40% of the original order and add a downsell: a cheaper offer often earns more in total because more buyers accept it.What is the best upsell plugin for WooCommerce?
FunnelKit, from its Plus plan at $149.50 a year on sale: order bumps at checkout and one-click post-purchase offers across more than fifteen gateways. Avoid its Basic plan if you want one-click upsells, since it does not include them.
