What is the best website visitor identification software in 2026?

The one that fits your traffic, your CRM and where your buyers sit. For a team identifying about 100 companies a month, expect anywhere from $0 to roughly $1,900 a year.

Most people who land on a B2B website leave without filling in a form. Visitor identification software looks up the IP address behind each visit and matches it against a database that ties addresses to companies. When the visit comes from a corporate network, you get the company name, industry, size and the pages it read. Some US-focused tools go one step further and try to name the person.

The short answer: Snitcher is the best all-round pick if you want month-to-month billing and CRM sync on the entry tier. RB2B is the one to try first if most of your traffic is American and you want person-level profiles, with a free plan to start. Leadinfo and Albacross are strong European options priced in euros, Pipedrive Web Visitors saves Pipedrive users a separate tool, Lead Forensics suits large sales teams happy to go through a quote, and Leadfeeder keeps a useful free tier.

Every cost below assumes a site that identifies around 100 companies a month, over one year, at list price, before tax. That's a common range for a small B2B business with a few thousand monthly visits.

The full ranking. The yearly cost column shows what you pay for a site that identifies about 100 companies a month, before tax. Each vendor keeps its own currency: Snitcher, RB2B and Pipedrive list dollars, while Leadinfo, Albacross and Leadfeeder list euros, so we kept euros for them.

How we ranked

How we compared and scored

Search for this topic and the top results are almost all written by vendors ranking themselves first. They list ten or fifteen names, quote partial prices, and wave at GDPR without citing a single regulator. Hardly any of them compare tiers side by side, say whether CRM sync is in the entry plan, or mention the annual auto-renewals that dominate negative reviews.

We read the official pricing pages of all seven vendors, their documentation on match accuracy, the European Data Protection Board guidance on IP-based tracking, and public user reviews, with extra attention to the negative ones. Every price is converted to a site identifying about 100 companies a month.

Several tools sit outside the ranking. Warmly, HubSpot Breeze Intelligence (formerly Clearbit Reveal), 6sense and ZoomInfo WebSights are enterprise products without a list price we could read on their official sites, so you'll go through sales. Happierleads (from $99 a month billed yearly, person-level) targets the same need as RB2B.

1
Best overall for small B2B teams

Snitcher

4.1/5

Snitcher is a Dutch company with the easiest pricing model in the category. You pay by the number of companies identified in a month, and a company counts once per period no matter how often it comes back. The first tier, up to 50 companies, is $49 a month. At around 100 companies you're on the $69 tier, which is $828 a year on monthly billing. Going annual takes roughly 30% off.

The real draw is that everything is included from that first tier. HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive sync, the REST API, Slack and email alerts and unlimited seats aren't held back for expensive plans. With several competitors, CRM sync costs you a tier upgrade.

Snitcher also advertises no long contract and no cancellation fees. That's rare here, where most negative reviews are about annual renewals people didn't see coming.

The catch is accuracy, and the vendor's own docs are upfront about it: matching is strong on office networks, decent behind a corporate VPN and limited on residential traffic, which means remote workers. Reviewers like the quick setup and the HubSpot sync, but some still double-check companies by hand, and one finds it thinner on contact data.

Tip: the trial runs 14 days with no card. Run it alongside a second tool on the same traffic and count the companies your reps would actually call, not the raw total.

Standout features
  • CRM sync and API from $49
  • No long contract
  • Each company counted once per period
+Pros
  • ✓Clear public pricing by tier
  • ✓Unlimited seats
  • ✓14-day trial, no card
−Cons
  • ✗Weaker on residential traffic
  • ✗Thinner contact data than some rivals
  • ✗Company-level only
Verdict

The best starting point for most teams: the entry tier includes everything and nothing locks you in. Use the trial to see how much of your traffic comes from offices.

Best for US person-level identification

RB2B

4.2/5

RB2B goes past the company and tries to name the person on your site, then posts their LinkedIn profile to Slack or Teams. That person-level match only works for visitors located in the United States. Everywhere else, RB2B identifies the company like the other tools on this list.

Pricing is public. Free costs nothing for up to 150 resolutions a month, company-level only. Starter is $79 a month for 300 resolutions, or $948 a year, with LinkedIn profiles but no emails. Pro starts at $149 and adds business emails and integrations, and Pro+ starts at $199. Past your quota, each extra resolution costs 45 cents on Starter and 25 cents on Pro.

The thing to plan for is volume. As traffic grows, resolutions run out fast, and overage adds up. Reviewers praise the simple interface, but the tool also draws a fair share of complaints.

If part of your audience is in Europe, keep in mind that RB2B itself limits person-level matching to the US. Naming individual visitors in the EU runs into the privacy rules covered below.

Tip: start on Free to measure how much of your traffic is actually American. If it's a minority, a company-level tool like Snitcher will do more for you.

Standout features
  • Person-level matches in the US
  • Free plan with 150 resolutions
  • Profiles pushed to Slack or Teams
+Pros
  • ✓Low public pricing to start
  • ✓7-day trial, no card
  • ✓Very simple interface
−Cons
  • ✗Person-level is US-only
  • ✗Quota burns fast as traffic grows
  • ✗Emails only from Pro
Verdict

The pick when your buyers are American and you want names, not just logos. Watch the resolution quota, and pair it with a company-level tool for non-US traffic.

Best for European teams

Leadinfo

4.1/5

Leadinfo is a Dutch vendor that shows prices in euros, pounds, dollars and Danish kroner. We kept euros. Starter costs €69 a month for 0 to 100 companies and 3 users, which is €828 a year. The vendor's calculator goes down to €49 for 0 to 50 companies on annual billing.

Read the Starter tier carefully. Leadinfo lists 67 integrations, but on Starter you push leads to the CRM by hand. Automatic HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics sync starts on Scale, from €159 a month, or €1,908 a year. Salesforce and Marketo need Pro, from €359. If hands-off CRM sync is why you're buying, budget for Scale from day one.

Leadinfo says it identifies about 30% of visitors. That's a vendor figure, not an independent measurement, and it depends heavily on how much of your traffic comes from company networks.

Public reviews are few but consistent on two points: a cancellation notice of about a month, with another year billed if you miss it, and visits that sometimes look under-counted, which the vendor puts down to private and mobile networks. Email support gets called slow.

Tip: the trial is 14 days with no card. When you sign, put the renewal date and notice deadline in your calendar with a reminder three months out.

Standout features
  • Euro pricing
  • 67 integrations
  • HubSpot and Dynamics sync from Scale
+Pros
  • ✓Starter at €69 for 100 companies
  • ✓14-day trial, no card
  • ✓Pricing shown in four currencies
−Cons
  • ✗Manual CRM push on Starter
  • ✗Notice period to watch
  • ✗Slow email support reported
Verdict

A solid European choice if you go straight to Scale for HubSpot or Dynamics sync. On Starter you're mostly paying for a dashboard.

Lowest entry price in euros

Albacross

3.9/5

Albacross is a Swedish vendor. Its Starter tier is the cheapest euro option here: €59 a month billed yearly for 0 to 100 companies, which comes to €708 a year. Month to month it's €84. Starter includes 10 email credits and 5 phone credits a month to find a contact inside the companies you spot.

The catch is integrations. Starter only connects to Pipedrive. HubSpot comes with Professional at €149 a month billed yearly (€1,788 a year), which also raises the cap to 500 companies. Salesforce, the API and webhooks sit on Organization, by quote and on annual billing only. CSV export stays manual on Professional.

Reviewers rate it well on simplicity. The criticism is that it stays company-level, and that contact data and US coverage are weaker. If you sell mostly in Europe, that last point matters less.

Tip: on HubSpot, put Albacross Professional (€149) next to Leadinfo Scale (€159) and Snitcher, which includes HubSpot from its entry tier. The entry-price gap disappears quickly.

Standout features
  • Starter at €59 a month
  • Email and phone credits included
  • 14-day trial, no card
+Pros
  • ✓Cheapest entry in euros
  • ✓Monthly billing available
  • ✓Easy to pick up
−Cons
  • ✗HubSpot only from Professional
  • ✗Salesforce and API by quote
  • ✗Company-level only
Verdict

The best entry price for a Pipedrive team selling in Europe. On HubSpot or Salesforce, redo the math with the right tier.

Best for teams already on Pipedrive

Pipedrive Web Visitors

3.9/5

Pipedrive sells a Web Visitors add-on for its CRM, and its help center says the feature is powered by Leadfeeder. The appeal is simple: companies that visit your site show up inside Pipedrive, next to your contacts and deals, with no connector to set up.

The add-on costs $49 a month up to 200 identified organizations, or $588 a year, on top of your Pipedrive plan. The page also shows a "from $41" figure without explaining it, so budget on $49. Above that, it's $99 up to 500 organizations and $299 up to 2,000. For a site identifying around 100 companies, the first tier leaves headroom.

Two limits. It only works for Pipedrive customers, so switching CRMs means starting over. And it shows companies, not people: to get a contact you need Prospector credits, sold separately.

If you're still weighing the CRM itself, our Pipedrive review covers its strengths and gaps.

Tip: the trial runs 14 days with no card. Watch how many organizations actually get created so you pick the right tier from month one.

Standout features
  • Inside the CRM, no connector
  • $49 up to 200 organizations
  • 14-day trial, no card
+Pros
  • ✓Nothing to sync
  • ✓Generous 200-organization tier
  • ✓Same views as your deals
−Cons
  • ✗Pipedrive customers only
  • ✗Contacts cost extra credits
  • ✗Fewer filters than a dedicated tool
Verdict

The simplest option if Pipedrive is your CRM and you're staying. Otherwise, a standalone tool keeps you free to switch.

Best hands-on support for large teams

Lead Forensics

3.4/5

Lead Forensics is a UK vendor and one of the oldest in the space. It doesn't publish prices: your quote depends on traffic and the number of identified leads. You get a one-week trial, then a sales meeting. Plans are called Essentials and Automate, and seats are unlimited.

Native integrations cover the CRMs that matter: Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Pipedrive and Zoho. Support is its best-rated area in public reviews, with lots of praise for onboarding.

The flip side shows up in those same reviews again and again: a 12-month contract that renews, a 60 to 90 day notice period, and a price increase at renewal. Some users also find residential traffic useless and data weaker outside the UK and US.

Already a customer and want out? Our guide to switching from Lead Forensics covers alternatives and the contract exit.

Tip: before you sign, get the contract length, the notice deadline and a cap on renewal increases in writing. Those are the three points customers most regret not negotiating.

Standout features
  • Highly rated support
  • Unlimited users
  • Native Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics, Pipedrive, Zoho
+Pros
  • ✓Hands-on onboarding
  • ✓Broad CRM coverage
  • ✓Plans with built-in automation
−Cons
  • ✗No public pricing
  • ✗Annual contract and long notice reported
  • ✗Weaker data outside UK and US
Verdict

A solid tool for a large UK or US team that wants to be guided. Smaller teams usually get more for less with Snitcher or RB2B.

Best free plan to get started

Leadfeeder

3.3/5

Leadfeeder, now part of the Dealfront brand, is one of the best-known names here. Its Lite plan is free forever: it shows the last 100 companies identified in the month, with 7 days of history. Seats are unlimited, even on free. If you want to know whether visitor identification is worth it for your site, this is the lowest-risk way to find out.

The first paid tier costs €99 a month billed yearly for 50 identified companies, which is €1,188 a year. Leadfeeder lists its prices in euros. Above that, price rises with company volume. There's a 14-day trial.

The 3.3 out of 5 score comes from our full Leadfeeder review, and value for money and support pull it down most. Negative public reviews describe annual renewals without a reminder, an annual commitment people only noticed later, and slow support. One customer saw a Microsoft Dynamics integration assign visits to the wrong person. On the plus side, users find it useful on high-traffic sites.

For the tier details, our Leadfeeder pricing breakdown runs the numbers; for other options, see Leadfeeder alternatives.

Tip: seven days of history is short. On Lite, check the list at least once a week or visits disappear before anyone acts on them.

Standout features
  • Free Lite plan forever
  • Unlimited users
  • Part of Dealfront
+Pros
  • ✓Free for 100 companies a month
  • ✓14-day trial
  • ✓Useful on high-traffic sites
−Cons
  • ✗7-day history on Lite
  • ✗Annual renewal to watch
  • ✗Slow support reported
Verdict

The easiest way to try visitor identification without paying. Before you upgrade, compare it with Snitcher and note the renewal date.

Cost, privacy and match rate

What visitor identification costs, where the rules bite, and what it really finds

Three questions decide a purchase more than any feature list: what you'll pay at your traffic level with CRM sync, which privacy rules apply when your visitors are in Europe, and what share of visitors the tool will actually recognize. This isn't legal advice.

The real cost at 100 companies a month

Per year, before tax: Leadfeeder Lite €0, RB2B Free $0 (company-level), Pipedrive Web Visitors $588 plus your CRM plan, Albacross Starter €708, Snitcher $828 on monthly billing, Leadinfo Starter €828, RB2B Starter $948. With HubSpot sync, Albacross goes to €1,788 and Leadinfo to €1,908, while Snitcher already includes it. Lead Forensics is quote-only. Your bill follows identified companies: if traffic doubles, so does your tier.

Visitors in Europe: what the EDPB says

If you serve visitors in the EU or the UK, GDPR and the ePrivacy rules apply. The European Data Protection Board's guidelines say that tracking based on the IP address alone can fall under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive when the IP comes from the user's device, unless the business can show it doesn't. In plain terms, 'cookieless' doesn't mean out of scope. Vendors claim legitimate interest for company IP ranges; that's their position, not a regulator's. Person-level naming, which RB2B itself limits to the US, is the riskiest part for EU traffic.

A realistic match rate

No independent benchmark exists; only vendors publish numbers. Leadinfo claims about 30% of visitors identified. Snitcher's documentation explains the spread: visits from an office network match well, visits behind a corporate VPN fairly well, visits from a home connection poorly. The more your buyers work remotely, the lower your rate. Negative reviews of several tools mention under-counted visits for the same reason.
  • Estimate your volume in identified companies a month, not visitors: that's what sets your tier.
  • Check that sync with your CRM is in the tier you're buying, not just 'available'.
  • If you have EU visitors, add the tool to your consent banner and privacy policy and sign a data processing agreement.
  • Ask the vendor which countries it can match at person level before you count on names.
  • Write down the renewal date and notice period before you sign, with a reminder 90 days out.
  • Route alerts only for high-intent pages like pricing and case studies, or your reps will tune them out.
Field tips

Six ways to turn identified visitors into real pipeline

The tool doesn't do the selling. The teams that end up disappointed usually installed the script, looked at the list for two weeks, then forgot the tab. Here's what keeps coming up in user reviews and vendor docs.

01

Run two trials side by side on the same traffic

Method

Snitcher, Leadinfo and Albacross give you 14 days with no card, RB2B gives 7. Install two scripts over the same two weeks, then compare how many companies your reps would actually call. The raw total means little: it also counts internet providers and universities.

Length
7 to 14 days, no card
02

Size your tier in companies, not visitors

Budget

Every price on this page scales with identified companies (or resolutions for RB2B). A site with 5,000 visits might only identify around a hundred. Read the real number during your trial before picking a tier. On Snitcher, a company that returns ten times counts once.

Benchmark
About 100 companies a month for a small team
03

Filter out ISPs and residential traffic

Trap

Some of the 'companies' you'll see are telecom carriers, hosting providers or schools. Build a filter that excludes them before sharing the list with sales. Otherwise the first calls miss, and the team gives up on the tool.

Exclude
Carriers, hosts, schools
04

Alert on the pages that matter

Prospecting

A homepage visit says little. A visit to your pricing page or a case study, from a company in your target market, says a lot. Set Slack or email alerts on those pages only, or your team gets buried in notifications and ignores them all.

Pages to watch
Pricing, case studies, demo
05

Cap person-level spend before traffic spikes

Savings

On RB2B, every resolution past your quota costs 45 cents on Starter and 25 cents on Pro. A campaign that doubles traffic can double the bill. Exclude pages that attract job seekers or students, and check usage weekly during launches.

Overage
$0.25 to $0.45 per resolution
06

Set a reminder 90 days before renewal

Savings

Unwanted annual renewals are the top complaint for Leadfeeder, Leadinfo and Lead Forensics, with notice periods of one to three months. On signing day, put the renewal and cancellation deadline in your calendar. And stick to monthly billing until the tool has proven itself.

Notice periods reported
30 to 90 days
What's next

You know who's visiting, now the rest

Identifying a company is only step one. You still need the right contact, a clean follow-up and a setup that respects privacy rules. These pages cover what comes next. Not to be confused with visitor management software for front-desk check-ins, which is a different job.

FAQ · 9 questions

Website visitor identification · FAQ

  • How do I find out which companies visit my website?
Use a visitor identification tool, which matches the IP address of each visit against a database of company networks. You add a script to your site, and the tool shows company names, industry and the pages they read. To try it for free, Leadfeeder Lite shows the last 100 companies each month and RB2B Free covers 150 resolutions.
  • Can you identify individual website visitors, not just companies?
Only in the US, with tools like RB2B, which limits person-level matching to visitors located there. For visitors elsewhere, these tools stop at the company. To reach a person after that, you need a prospecting database or contact credits like the ones Albacross includes.
  • Is website visitor identification GDPR compliant?
It depends on how you set it up, not on the tool alone. The European Data Protection Board says tracking by IP address alone can fall under the ePrivacy consent rule when the IP comes from the user's device. If you have EU visitors, add the tool to your consent banner and privacy policy, sign a data processing agreement, and ask your privacy counsel.
  • What match rate should I expect?
No independent figure exists. Leadinfo claims about 30% of visitors, but that's a vendor number. Your real rate depends on how much traffic comes from office networks versus home connections. Run a trial on your own traffic to get your own number.
  • Are there free website visitor identification tools?
Yes, two free plans work for business use. Leadfeeder Lite shows the last 100 identified companies a month with 7 days of history, and RB2B Free covers 150 resolutions a month at company level. Snitcher, Leadinfo and Albacross have no free plan but offer 14-day trials with no card.
  • What's the difference between company-level and person-level identification?
Company-level tells you which business visited, using its IP range. Person-level tries to name the individual, and only RB2B among these tools does it, for US visitors. Company-level is enough for account-based outreach; person-level is faster to act on but narrower and riskier outside the US.
  • How much does visitor identification software cost?
From $0 to about $160 a month for a team identifying 100 companies. Snitcher starts at $49 for 50 companies, RB2B Starter is $79, Pipedrive's add-on is $49, Albacross starts at €59 billed yearly and Leadinfo at €69. Add the tier that includes your CRM sync, and note Lead Forensics is quote-only.
  • Why don't remote workers get identified?
Because their IP address belongs to their home internet provider, not their employer. Tools can't link a residential IP to a company. Behind a corporate VPN, matching works again, with fair accuracy according to Snitcher's documentation.
  • Does Google Analytics show which companies visit my site?
No. Analytics tools show pageviews, sources and countries, but not company names. To name businesses you need a dedicated tool that maps IP addresses to companies.
