How much does CallHippo cost?
The real price of the cloud phone system, plan by plan, add-ons and usage fees included.
Short answer: CallHippo costs $18 per user per month on Starter billed annually, $30 on Professional and $42 on Ultimate, with local taxes added on top. The $0 Basic plan only lasts 6 months before you have to move to Starter. Add AI Copilot ($10 per user) and a fully equipped Professional seat comes to $40. The bigger surprises sit in the billing rules: every seat you buy is billed even when nobody uses it, and auto-renewal can't be switched off.

CallHippo also sells a Call Center suite (Bronze, Silver, Platinum) whose price list only shows in rupees: ask for the dollar price during your trial before comparing.
Add-ons and fees billed on top
A plan covers the line. AI, the voice agent, WhatsApp and part of your usage are billed separately. Here is every extra that CallHippo prices in dollars, before tax.
AI Copilot: $10 per user per month
Copilot adds sentiment analysis, talk ratio, auto call disposition and post-call summaries. Basic call transcription already ships with Professional, so only pay for Copilot if your managers actually read the analysis. For 5 reps, that's $50 a month.
AI Voice Agent: $45 per agent per month
The voice agent that answers for you costs $45 per agent per month, with 100 free minutes and 5 concurrent calls. After that, every minute costs $0.23 plus telephony. Run the numbers: 1,000 minutes a month means about $207 in call charges on top of the $45 (900 minutes × $0.23).
WhatsApp, texting and extra numbers
The WhatsApp Business API costs $20 per channel per month, plus message charges. Turning on SMS takes a $20 one-time fee per account and 2 to 4 weeks of approval, and US/Canada A2P charges may apply. Each standard number beyond the one included per user costs from $1 a month, depending on the country.
Usage beyond your plan
Once included minutes run out, each incoming minute on a standard number costs $0.02, and each incoming text beyond fair use $0.01. Everything runs on prepaid credit that auto-recharges when it drops below $5, so watch that recharge during your first months.
- One business line with no AI: Starter at $18 is enough.
- Unlimited US and Canada calling: Professional at $30.
- Call analysis for coaching: add $10 per user.
- A voice agent: budget $45 plus $0.23 per minute beyond 100.
- International calls: plan for calling credit on top of the plan.
How we work out the real cost
We compared CallHippo's official pricing page, its billing help articles and customer feedback posted on review sites. A price makes it onto this page only if CallHippo shows it in dollars. Rupee-only amounts and prices quoted by competitors stay in our research file. For the "equipped seat", we start from Professional billed annually and add the one AI add-on most sales teams switch on.
- Professional seatUnlimited US/Canada calling, recording, transcription$30
- AI CopilotSentiment, summaries, auto disposition$10
- Local taxesEvery listed price is before taxextra
- Total per userExcluding international calling credit$40
Budgets assume a team that mostly calls the US and Canada. If you call Europe or elsewhere, add calling credit for your destinations.

So, is CallHippo expensive?
Our take after comparing: the price list is fair, it's the billing rules that cost you when you don't know them. Here's when CallHippo is worth it, and when to look elsewhere.
Good math if…
You mostly call the US and Canada with a small team that doesn't need AI. At $30, Professional gives you unlimited calling to both countries, recording and transcription. Aircall needs at least $90 for its three entry licenses.
Bad math if…
You want a voice agent that picks up a lot of calls: at $0.23 per minute beyond 100, the bill follows your volume. And if you might shrink the team mid-year, annual billing locks you in. Several customers say they got no refund after cutting seats.
Our advice
Start on Starter or Professional billed monthly for a month or two, buy exactly the seats you need, then switch to annual. Keep an eye on the credit auto-recharge. CallHippo scores 3.1/5 in our full review, mostly because of billing.
- Count every seat: the account owner takes one.
- Cancel at least one day before your renewal date.
- Start with no AI add-on, add it only if it gets used.
- Check number prices for the countries you call before paying.
- Compare with KrispCall pricing and Aircall pricing.

CallHippo pricing FAQ
How much does CallHippo cost per month?
CallHippo costs $18 per user per month on Starter billed annually, $30 on Professional and $42 on Ultimate. Billed monthly, CallHippo's help center uses a Starter example at $25 per seat. Local taxes come on top of every price. For a 3-person team on Professional, budget $90 a month before calling credit. Is the CallHippo Basic plan really free?
Yes, but only for 6 months. Basic costs $0 per user and you only pay for your numbers. It includes no minutes and no texts, so every call draws on your credit. After 6 months, CallHippo's fair usage policy moves you to Starter at $18 per user billed annually. Why am I paying for a seat nobody uses?
Because CallHippo bills purchased seats, not active users. Buy 4 seats with 2 people calling and you still pay for 4. The account owner also takes a paid seat. To save money, lower your seat count under "Plan and Billing" before the next billing date. Can you turn off CallHippo auto-renewal?
No. CallHippo's help center says auto-renewal can't be disabled, and a primary payment method has to stay on file. To stop paying you have to cancel. Several customers report being charged on renewal day despite a cancellation request, so send yours at least a day early and keep written confirmation. How much does the CallHippo AI voice agent cost?
The AI Voice Agent costs $45 per agent per month, with 100 minutes and 5 concurrent calls included. Beyond that, each minute costs $0.23 plus telephony. At 500 minutes a month, that's about $45 + $92, so $137 before telephony. The first 100 minutes are included free.Does CallHippo charge per minute?
Inside the US and Canada, mostly no: Starter includes 1,000 minutes and Professional and Ultimate are unlimited. Outside that, yes. International calls, toll-free and premium numbers draw on prepaid credit at each country's rate, and incoming minutes beyond your allowance cost $0.02 on a standard number. Unused credit carries over to the next cycle. Are internal calls free on CallHippo?
Yes, calls between agents on the same CallHippo account are free. Incoming calls do count: once included minutes run out, each incoming minute on a standard number costs $0.02. On Starter, the 1,000 included minutes cover both inbound and outbound US and Canada calls. How much does WhatsApp cost with CallHippo?
CallHippo charges $20 per channel per month for the WhatsApp Business API, plus per-message charges set by WhatsApp. One channel equals one WhatsApp number. If you only reply to a handful of customers, the Basic omnichannel inbox stays free for up to 3 users.Does CallHippo refund annual plans?
Rarely, judging by customer feedback. Several reviews describe refunds refused after annual payment, even with no usage, and one customer got a free 6-month extension instead of a refund after cutting seats. If you're unsure, use the 10-day free trial, then pay monthly for a month or two before committing. Is there a CallHippo promo code?
CallHippo shows no promo code on its pricing page. Discount sites advertise 20% off for new customers, but the offer doesn't appear on CallHippo's side. The real saving is annual billing: Starter drops from $25 per seat monthly to $18 annually, which is $84 less per seat over a year.
