Agorapulse alternatives: where to go, and how to switch without losing anything

Ten destinations, one per reason to leave, and a seven-step migration plan.

The short answer: SocialPilot or Sendible if your bill grows every time someone joins the team, Buffer if you post alone to three or four networks, Metricool if you want a free plan that actually works, Vista Social if you run client accounts at an agency, Sprout Social if you want deeper reporting rather than a lower bill. One thing to know first: Agorapulse exports your calendar to CSV, but that file can't be imported back as is, and it carries neither your analytics nor your inbox. We compared the ten destinations in this guide and checked their pricing pages in 2026.

The real reasons

Why teams leave Agorapulse, and what they give up

To be fair: Agorapulse is still one of the best-rated tools for its shared inbox (comments, DMs and mentions in one place) and for support that answers in under 6 hours even on the entry plan. The company is French, based in Paris. People leave for other reasons: the pricing model, limits that show up as the team grows, and what stays locked inside when you go. Six reasons, checked against the vendor's own pages and user reviews in 2026.

Every seat pays full price

Agorapulse charges per user, per month: $79 on Standard billed yearly ($99 monthly), $119 on Professional ($149), $149 on Advanced ($199). Its help center says it plainly: each additional user costs the same as the first. Two people on monthly Standard pay $198 a month; five on Professional pay $745. In Reddit threads about the tool, the complaint is less the sticker price than the multiplication. The price on the page is the price of one person.

10 profiles, whatever the plan

Standard, Professional and Advanced all include 10 social profiles. Upgrading buys you features, not headroom. Those 10 profiles are shared by the whole team, so adding a colleague adds no profiles. An agency running four clients on three networks (12 profiles) is already over the cap and pays an add-on. Only the quote-based Custom plan removes the limit.

X (Twitter) is an add-on

Posting to X needs a paid add-on: X Lite for publishing, X Plus for inbox and analytics. The pricing page says "contact us" with no amount. The last prices Agorapulse published were $29 and $69 per month per X profile. If X matters to you, that add-on can outweigh the gap between two plans.

The classic free plan is gone

In 2026, Agorapulse closed its free plan, which gave you 3 profiles, 1 user and 10 scheduled posts. What replaced it is a free tier built around Archie, its AI assistant: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, 10 credits a month, and new posts created only through the assistant. Some competitor pages still mention a "limited free plan", which is out of date. The 30-day trial with no credit card is still there.

Limits buried in the lower plans

You won't see them at a glance. Analytics history is kept for 6 months on Standard, 12 on Professional, 24 on Advanced. The content library stops at 10 images and 2 videos on both Standard and Professional. Professional has no shared calendars (Advanced gets 5). Automated moderation is limited to one free rule per profile, with a single condition, outside Custom.

Missed posts, and a locked exit

Negative reviews tell a similar story: network connections that drop, scheduled posts that don't go out or go out twice, reports that are hard to customize below the top plans. On the contract side, monthly plans are never refunded, and yearly plans only get a partial refund within 30 days after a renewal. Add an export that can't be re-imported, and leaving takes some planning.

The 10 alternatives

Agorapulse alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why move there, who it's for, its limit, how to migrate from Agorapulse, and what it costs. Prices are the ones the vendors list in 2026, in dollars unless the vendor only shows euros. Statusbrew, Planable and Publer also come up in user threads; we couldn't confirm their pricing on the vendor's own page, so they stay out of this ranking.

01

SocialPilot: lots of accounts for little money

Best value for teams

Why move to SocialPilot. It's the opposite of the Agorapulse model. Standard bundles 15 accounts and 3 users for $42.50 a month billed yearly. A team of three pays under $15 per person and gets 50% more accounts than Agorapulse allows.

Who it's for. Small agencies and SMBs posting to many accounts that want a price they can read at a glance.

Who it's not for. A customer care team that lives in the inbox and wants support answers within the hour. That's where Agorapulse keeps its edge.

Its limit. Plans go up in steps: Essentials at $25.50 (7 accounts, 1 user), Premium at $85 (25 accounts, 6 users), Ultimate at $170 (50 accounts). Monthly billing adds about 15%. An extra account costs $4, an extra user $5. There's no free plan.

How to migrate. Ultimate includes migration and onboarding. If you run 30 accounts or more, that plan saves you from rebuilding everything by hand. Otherwise the 14-day trial is enough to reconnect profiles and load a month of posts.

02

Sendible: unlimited users on every plan

Large teams

Why move to Sendible. Sendible doesn't count people. Every plan includes unlimited users; you pay for workspaces and profiles instead. For a team of five sharing a few brands, the bill no longer moves each time someone joins.

Who it's for. Agencies and marketing teams where many people touch social, including clients or interns who log in to approve a post.

Who it's not for. A team running 10 profiles on the entry plan: Core stops at 6 profiles. There's no free plan either.

Its limit. Core starts at $35 a month for 1 workspace and 6 profiles. Elite starts at $349 a month (15 workspaces, 90 profiles), Enterprise at $800. The middle tiers, Plus (3 workspaces, 18 profiles) and Premium (7 workspaces, 42 profiles), don't show a readable price, so ask for a quote. Paying yearly takes 15% off.

How to migrate. Create one workspace per client or brand, the way you grouped profiles in Agorapulse, then invite the whole team at no extra cost. The 14-day trial needs no card.

Buffer: pay per channel when you work alone

Solo

Why move to Buffer. As a one-person Agorapulse account you paid at least $79 a month. Buffer charges per channel: $5 per network per month billed yearly on Essentials. Four networks cost $20. The free plan still covers 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel.

Who it's for. Freelancers, creators and small brands posting alone to three to six networks.

Who it's not for. A team answering dozens of comments and DMs a day. Buffer schedules very well, but the inbox isn't the heart of the product.

Its limit. Essentials has one user. Team, with unlimited users, costs $10 per channel per month billed yearly: $100 a month at 10 channels. That still beats Agorapulse from two people up, but the gap shrinks as you add networks.

How to migrate. Buffer's bulk upload takes up to 100 posts per channel on paid plans, with text and images. Reshape your Agorapulse export to that template, one network at a time. Our switch from Buffer guide shows its limits from the inside.

Metricool: a free plan to replace the one you lost

Useful free plan

Why move to Metricool. If you were on Agorapulse's old free plan, this is the closest landing spot. Metricool, built in Spain, keeps a free plan: 1 brand, 20 posts a month, 30 days of analytics and 5 competitors tracked. Paid plans count brands, not users: Starter covers 5 brands from $20 a month billed yearly.

Who it's for. Freelancers, shop owners, creators and small agencies that want to schedule and measure in one place without paying per head.

Who it's not for. A team that needs roles and approvals. Those only come with Advanced, from $53 a month billed yearly for 15 brands.

Its limit. The free plan doesn't post to LinkedIn or X. Starter is $25 on monthly billing ($36 billed yearly for 10 brands), Advanced $67 monthly. Prices exclude tax; Metricool advertises savings of up to 24% on yearly billing.

How to migrate. Start on the free plan with your main brand to check your networks are covered. If LinkedIn or X matter, go straight to Starter, then rebuild your upcoming posts from your CSV export.

Vista Social: room to grow for agencies

Agencies

Why move to Vista Social. The 10-profile cap is the first wall an agency hits on Agorapulse. Vista Social gives you 15 on Professional, with 2 users, for $99 a month on monthly billing, about $79 billed yearly. Scheduling, a shared inbox and reports sit in one dashboard. Our score: 3.9/5.

Who it's for. Agencies and marketing teams running several brands that want clients to approve posts.

Who it's not for. A solo marketer on three networks: Buffer will cost about a fifth as much.

Its limit. X costs $29 a month extra, roughly the last price Agorapulse published for X Lite. Advanced is $199 and Scale $449 a month on monthly billing.

How to migrate. Rebuild your client profile groups first, then your approval flows, and only then reload the post queue. Our Vista Social review covers its strengths, and the Vista Social pricing page lists the add-ons.

Sprout Social: trade up at the same entry price

Premium reporting

Why move to Sprout Social. If you're leaving because Agorapulse reports no longer cut it, Sprout is the logical step up. Essentials costs $79 per seat per month billed yearly ($99 monthly), exactly the price of Agorapulse Standard. The difference shows higher up: Standard at $199, Professional at $299, Advanced at $399 per seat.

Who it's for. Structured marketing teams that report to leadership and have the budget to match.

Who it's not for. Anyone leaving Agorapulse to pay less. From the second tier up, Sprout costs more per person.

Its limit. Essentials manages only 5 profiles, half of what Agorapulse gives at the same price. It's still seat-based, so the bill grows with the team, as before.

How to migrate. The 30-day trial gives you time to run both tools side by side through a full reporting cycle. Our switch from Sprout Social guide shows what you'd face if you ever leave it.

SocialBee: recycle content by category

Evergreen content

Why move to SocialBee. SocialBee sorts your posts into categories (tips, offers, testimonials) and republishes them on a schedule. If your Agorapulse calendar was a loop of recurring content, you'll save hours. Bootstrap costs $29 a month for 5 profiles. Our score: 3.8/5.

Who it's for. Freelancers, coaches and small businesses that post often with little new content.

Who it's not for. A team: Bootstrap has a single seat, and you need Pro at $99 for 3 seats and 25 profiles.

Its limit. No free plan. Accelerate is $49 (10 profiles); agency plans run from $179 to $449.

How to migrate. Sort your CSV export by theme before importing: each theme becomes a category. Our SocialBee review and the SocialBee vs Vista Social comparison help you decide.

Hootsuite: the big name, at a bigger price

Enterprise

Why move to Hootsuite. Rarely for the price. Standard costs $99 per user per month billed yearly, $20 more than Agorapulse Standard, with the same 10-account cap. People choose it for its wide ecosystem and for upper plans built for large teams.

Who it's for. Large companies that already use Hootsuite elsewhere in the group.

Who it's not for. An SMB running from per-seat pricing: it's the same model, only more expensive. There's no free plan.

Its limit. Professional is $199 and Advanced $399 per user per month billed yearly. The trial lasts 14 days.

How to migrate. Hootsuite's bulk composer takes up to 350 messages per file, so reshape your Agorapulse export to its template. Our switch from Hootsuite guide covers the opposite move, handy for comparison.

Later: built for Instagram and TikTok

Visual-first

Why move to Later. If your Agorapulse calendar was mostly Instagram and TikTok, Later is priced for that: Starter costs $18.75 a month billed yearly for one social set (a bundle of profiles for one brand). Our score: 3/5.

Who it's for. Creators, shops and brands whose social life is visual.

Who it's not for. A team that needs a real free plan or heavy inbox moderation.

Its limit. Growth costs $37.50 and Scale $82.50 a month billed yearly. Extras add up: $11.25 per additional social set, $3.75 per extra user. There's no real free plan.

How to migrate. Move your visual queue first and keep your images in a shared cloud folder with public links during the switch. The Vista Social vs Later comparison helps if you manage clients, and our Later pricing page breaks down the add-ons.

Iconosquare: when analytics come first

Analytics

Why move to Iconosquare. If you mostly used Agorapulse for reports and the 6-month retention on Standard bothers you, Iconosquare puts analytics at the center, with a low entry price: Starter is €9 a month billed yearly for 3 profiles (the vendor lists euros). Our score: 3.7/5.

Who it's for. Visual brands and marketers who deliver a monthly social report.

Who it's not for. A team handling a busy inbox. That's not its main job.

Its limit. Price climbs with profiles: Launch is €33, Scale €69 for 3 users, and Custom starts at €116 a month.

How to migrate. Export your Agorapulse reports to PDF before you leave, since Iconosquare can't recover history it never stored. The 14-day trial needs no card. Our Iconosquare review goes deeper.

All 10 alternatives side by side

Take a team of three on 10 profiles, billed yearly. Agorapulse Standard costs 3 × $79 = $237 a month. Hootsuite Standard comes to $297. Sprout Essentials is also $237, but for only 5 profiles. On the other side, SocialPilot Standard is $42.50, Buffer Team $100 for 10 channels, Metricool Advanced from $53. Sendible Core is $35 with unlimited users, though it covers only 6 profiles. Agorapulse only wins on cost for a solo user, or when its inbox and fast support matter more than anything else. Move off Agorapulse in seven steps

Order matters. Each step protects something: your scheduled posts, your analytics history, your money when you cancel.

01

List everything that's running

Day 1

Write down your connected profiles, users and their roles, post labels, automated moderation rules, scheduled reports and integrations. Note your billing cycle end date too: it sets your whole timeline.

If Agorapulse is wired to other apps, list each automation. Our Agorapulse and Zapier page shows what can connect to it, which tells you what will break when you leave.

Time
about an hour
Risk if rushed
a forgotten integration
02

Export your reports before they expire

History

Agorapulse keeps analytics for 6 months on Standard, 12 on Professional, 24 on Advanced. Your new tool won't pull that history in. Export your reports to PDF or PowerPoint, period by period, and store them outside the tool.

Tip: export everything your plan keeps (6, 12 or 24 months), one month at a time. That's what someone will ask for in six months when they want a before-and-after.

Format
PDF or PowerPoint
Keep
all available history
03

Export your calendar to CSV

Posts

From the calendar, in Month view, filter by profile and date range, then export to CSV. The file holds date, time, type, status, text, links, labels and the URL of published posts. It holds no analytics and no inbox messages.

Watch out: the export only exists on current plans, not on legacy ones. If you're on an old plan, screenshot your upcoming posts.

Includes
posts, text, links, labels
Excludes
analytics, messages
04

Reshape the file for your new tool

Gotcha

Agorapulse's help center is clear: the exported CSV can't be bulk-imported back, not even into Agorapulse. Open it in a spreadsheet and copy the columns into your destination's import template. Buffer takes up to 100 posts per channel, Hootsuite 350 messages per file.

For images, most importers pull them from a public URL. Drop your visuals into a shared cloud folder and paste those links into the file.

Buffer
100 posts per channel
Hootsuite
350 messages per file
05

Reconnect your profiles, and check X

Connections

Connect each page and account from an admin login (not a former intern's). Check what X costs before you reconnect it: $29 a month at Vista Social, and Metricool's free plan doesn't post to X at all.

Schedule one test post per network and check it goes out on time.

X add-on $29/mo

06

Run both tools for a week

Safety net

Keep Agorapulse until the end of the paid cycle; cancelling leaves your access on until then. Stop scheduling there, but keep replying to open conversations. Meanwhile, the new queue runs in the destination.

After a week with no missed post, you can switch off.

Cancel at the right time, from the right account

Money

Only the organization Owner can cancel, from Subscription settings at the bottom of the page. Monthly payments are never refunded. On yearly plans, a partial refund is only possible if you cancel within 30 days after a renewal, never on a first purchase. Custom plans need 60 days' notice before renewal, through your account manager.

Migration pitfalls

What makes an Agorapulse exit go wrong

None of these mistakes is technical. They're calendar and math slips, and each one costs more than the ten minutes it would have taken to avoid.

Cancelling without checking the renewal date

On yearly plans, the partial refund window only opens for 30 days after renewal. Cancelling the day before renewal or three months after gets you the same thing: nothing back. Put the date in your calendar today.

Assuming the export re-imports

The Agorapulse CSV is a record, not a moving box. Budget an hour of spreadsheet work to match your destination's format, and start with the next two weeks of posts.

Losing your analytics history

Retention stops at 6, 12 or 24 months depending on plan, and access ends with the cycle. Without PDF exports, your annual report has nothing to compare against.

Comparing prices that count different things

Agorapulse counts users, Buffer channels, Metricool brands, Sendible workspaces and profiles. Write down three numbers: people, profiles, and whether you need X. Then price every option on those three.

Forgetting X pricing at the destination

You escape the Agorapulse X add-on and meet another one: $29 a month at Vista Social, missing from Metricool's free plan. Check before you sign.

Choosing on scheduling alone

Every tool here schedules posts. If your team spends its day in the Agorapulse inbox, look at how the destination handles comments and DMs first. For broader rankings, see our best tools for agencies, small businesses and community managers.

FAQ · 8 questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Does Agorapulse still have a free plan?

Not really. In 2026 Agorapulse closed its classic free plan (3 profiles, 1 user, 10 scheduled posts). What's left is a 30-day trial with no card and a free tier limited to its AI assistant, Archie, with 10 credits a month. For a real free scheduler, Metricool or Buffer take over.

  • What is the cheapest Agorapulse alternative?

For a team, SocialPilot Standard: $42.50 a month billed yearly for 3 users and 15 accounts. For a solo user, Buffer Essentials at $5 per channel, or Metricool's free plan if one brand and 20 posts a month are enough.

  • How much does Agorapulse cost for a team of five?

Multiply the plan by five. Billed yearly, that's $395 a month on Standard, $595 on Professional and $745 on Advanced. On monthly billing, Professional also lands at $745. The team still shares the same 10 profiles.

  • Agorapulse vs Hootsuite: which should you keep?

Agorapulse, if those are your only two options. Both charge per user with 10 accounts to start, but Hootsuite Standard is $99 per person billed yearly against $79. Hootsuite has no free tier at all, not even a limited one. Switching between them won't fix a pricing problem.

  • Which Agorapulse alternative has the best social inbox?

Sprout Social is the upgrade path if the inbox and reports drive your choice, starting at $79 per seat. Vista Social also bundles a shared inbox with 15 profiles. Most cheaper schedulers focus on publishing, so check how they handle comments and DMs before you move a care team.

  • Can you export scheduled posts from Agorapulse?

Yes, through the calendar's CSV export in Month view, profile by profile. The file keeps text, links, dates and labels, not analytics. You'll need to reshape it, because it can't be imported back as is. Do it before your cycle ends, since access ends with it.

  • Will Agorapulse refund me if I cancel?

Rarely. Monthly plans are never refunded. On yearly plans, a partial refund is possible only within 30 days after a renewal, never on a first purchase. Custom plans need 60 days' notice before renewal.

  • What's the best Agorapulse alternative for agencies?

Vista Social for lots of profiles and client approvals: 15 profiles from about $79 a month billed yearly. Sendible if many people need to log in, since users are unlimited. SocialPilot if budget leads: Premium gives 25 accounts and 6 users for $85. Our agency ranking goes further.
