HIX Bypass alternatives: get out before the next charge

What its pricing and refund policy actually say, six tools in detail, and a six-step exit.

The short answer: go with Grammarly if what you really need is more natural writing, with no promise to slip past anything. Pick QuillBot if you rework your own drafts and want a full toolkit for $8.33 a month billed yearly. Pick WriteHuman if you want to judge the output for free before paying, something HIX Bypass doesn't really let you do (it doesn't publish the size of its trial). Undetectable AI gives you more words per dollar, but it carries the same billing complaints: a bad move if billing is why you're leaving. First things first: cancel from the Billing tab and email support before your renewal date. Its policy requires it, and refunds only apply within 3 days of purchase. And if your school bans undisclosed AI, no tool is the answer. Disclosing is. We compared these tools, their prices and their terms in 2026.

The real reasons

Why people leave HIX Bypass, refund policy in hand

On Trustpilot, HIX Bypass sits at 2.4 out of 5 across 34 reviews: 65% one-star, 23% five-star. The happy users are real and specific (Sufian Ahmed says it "delivers smooth, natural-sounding text", Ms. Ramirez that "it does what it says it does"). The unhappy ones almost all tell the same story: a subscription that's hard to stop. One quick orientation point: the old bypass.hix.ai address now redirects to hixbypass.com, a separate site with a separate subscription from the HIX.AI suite. Here are the six reasons that keep coming up, checked against its pricing page and its refund policy.

Cancelling doesn't always stop the charges

This is complaint number one. Rachel Brady: "No way to remove payment. I cancelled a month ago and still charged." Carolina says the site showed her account as free and gave her no way to cancel. Kirby de Lanerolle: "HIX continues to charge me despite multiple cancellation requests". The policy adds a rule few people read: to stop auto-renewal, you have to contact support before the renewal date.

A 3-day, 1,500-word refund window

The refund policy is tight. You must ask within 3 days of purchase, with no more than 1,500 words used. It also rules out a refund if you used the account in the same calendar month as your request, and it only covers the current subscription, never past months. Alicia Thurmond sums up how that plays out: "I canceled my plan just one day after purchasing it, but I have not been issued any refund."

Standard runs out fast

Month to month, Standard costs $14.99 for 5,000 humanizer words. One long paper or three blog posts and you're done. Each input is capped at 3,000 words on Standard and Premium. And the grid leans hard on annual billing: Unlimited is $59.99 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly, a quarter of the price. Billed yearly, Unlimited costs one cent more than Premium ($14.99).

Annual renewals with no reminder

Since annual is the only plan that makes sense on this grid, the risk moves to the renewal date. On the Trustpilot page for the HIX.AI suite (same company, 3.0 out of 5 across 193 reviews), Grace Ogunjobi writes: "HIX.AI renewed my annual subscription without sending the renewal reminder I received the previous year." Miss the date and you're in for another full year.

Results that swing from one run to the next

The homepage promises a "99.5% Success Rate" up top, "99%" further down, and "100% undetectable" elsewhere. Three numbers for one claim. In the field, wedad writes: "The humanized content remains 100% detectable as AI". A forum user rated it 4 out of 10, said GPTZero flagged both of his samples as "100 percent AI generated", and noted it "kept em dashes in the text". Published third-party comparisons, often by competitors, range from 20% to 76% detection on Turnitin depending on who ran them.

No longer part of HIX.AI

HIX Bypass now lives on its own domain, and the HIX.AI pricing page doesn't mention it anymore. If you also want the suite's writing tools (chat, article writer, translator and so on), that's two subscriptions, which means two cancellations. There's no free plan on the HIX Bypass pricing page either: its FAQ mentions a trial, but the company doesn't publish how big it is.

6 alternatives

HIX Bypass alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why move to it from HIX Bypass, who it's for, its limit, how to switch, and what it costs. Prices are what the vendors showed in 2026, in US dollars; when a price comes from a third-party listing, we say so. HIX Bypass advertises 50+ languages without a full list, and Grammarly publishes its own. None of these tools guarantees your text will pass a detector, and none replaces a careful reread.

01

Grammarly: step out of the detector arms race

Most honest

Why move to Grammarly. HIX Bypass sells "100% undetectable" text. Grammarly goes the other way: its humanizer page says the tool isn't intended to bypass AI detectors. It makes text smoother and more natural, which is what most people actually need. Its Humanizer agent works in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian.

Who it's for. Writers, freelancers and non-native English speakers who want more natural prose without putting their grade or their client relationship at risk.

Who it's not for. Anyone shopping for HIX Bypass's Aggressive or Latest modes. Grammarly makes no promise about detectors, on purpose.

Its limit. The free humanizer's cap isn't published, so plan on short passages. Grammarly Pro is $12 a month billed yearly on its plans page; the monthly price wasn't shown when we checked.

How to switch. Nothing to migrate. Paste your text into the humanizer page or install the browser extension. Cancel HIX Bypass first, then try Grammarly on something you wrote yourself.

02

QuillBot: rework your own drafts, with the whole toolkit

Most tools for the money

Why move to QuillBot. A lot of people leaving HIX Bypass realize they'd need a second HIX.AI subscription to get a writer or translator too. QuillBot bundles a paraphraser, a humanizer, a grammar checker, a summarizer and a translator in one plan. Premium works out to $8.33 a month billed yearly ($99.95 a year), or $19.95 month to month; the student plan drops to $6.25 a month ($74.95 a year). One subscription means one renewal date to watch.

Who it's for. Students and writers who rework their own drafts and want a checker and translator on hand.

Who it's not for. Anyone hoping to humanize long texts for free: the free humanizer stops at 125 words per run.

Its limit. Refunds are strict here too. QuillBot only refunds where the law requires it, within a short 3-day window. Our QuillBot review gives it 3.9 out of 5.

How to switch. Start with the free version on a paragraph you used to run through HIX Bypass. Pay one month on the monthly plan, then go yearly only if it holds up on your own writing.

WriteHuman: a free trial that resets every month

Free to try

Why move to WriteHuman. With HIX Bypass, you usually pay before you've really judged the output: there's no free plan on the pricing page, and the trial size isn't published by the company. WriteHuman gives you three free 250-word requests every month, plus ten checks. That's enough to run three real texts through it before you reach for your card.

Who it's for. Content writers and freelancers who polish short pieces: product descriptions, social posts, emails.

Who it's not for. People who pasted 3,000 words at once into HIX Bypass on a cheap plan. Basic caps each request at 600 words, Pro at 1,200, and you need Ultra to get back to 3,000.

Its limit. Basic is $20 month to month or $12 a month billed yearly ($144 a year) for 80 requests; Pro is $29 or $19; Ultra is $59 or $39. Its FAQ says: "All payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund". That's stricter than HIX Bypass's 3 days. The difference: you got to judge it first.

How to switch. Keep three texts you ran through HIX Bypass, redo them in WriteHuman with your free requests, and compare side by side. Take the monthly plan for one month before committing to a year.

Undetectable AI: twice the words, the same complaints

Look closely

Why move to Undetectable AI. It's the closest thing to HIX Bypass, with two clear advantages: a 250-word trial the company advertises, and more words for less money. Starter is $9.99 month to month or $5 a month billed yearly ($60 a year) for 10,000 words, double HIX Bypass Standard. The next tier gives you 20,000 words for $19 a month.

Who it's for. People who want the same kind of tool, with readable pricing and a monthly quota that actually lasts.

Who it's not for. Anyone running from HIX Bypass because of billing. Undetectable AI sits at 3.6 out of 5 across about a thousand reviews, 40% of them one-star, and the top complaint is the same: charges after cancelling.

Its limit. Its guarantee refunds the cost of humanizing a flagged text, not your subscription, and the company reminds you subscriptions are non-refundable. We cover its weak spots on our switch from Undetectable AI page.

How to switch. Use the 250-word trial, then one month on the monthly plan. Put the renewal date in your calendar right away. That's exactly what people leaving HIX Bypass wish they'd done.

Humbot: published quotas and 7 days to change your mind

Clear quotas

Why move to Humbot. HIX Bypass gives you 3 days to ask for a refund. Humbot gives you 7. Its quotas are spelled out on its page: 3,000 basic and 1,000 advanced words a month with 500 words per request, then 30,000 and 5,000 with 1,200 words per request, then unlimited basic with 10,000 advanced words.

Who it's for. People who rework short texts on a regular basis and want to know their cap before paying.

Who it's not for. Long documents in one go: 500 to 1,200 words per request, far from HIX Bypass's 3,000. Heavy users of advanced words, too.

Its limit. The 7-day guarantee is gone once you've used more than 1,000 basic words or 300 advanced words. Its pricing page also mentions 30 days, so go by the stricter rule. Prices weren't displayed when we checked: look at the exact amount in your cart.

How to switch. Run one short text through it within the 7 days, then decide. Past 1,000 basic words, assume you've paid for good.

StealthGPT: a big quota, but nothing refundable

Sideways move

Why move to StealthGPT. If you were on Premium for its 50,000 words, StealthGPT Pro gives you the same monthly quota under its terms of service, for $29.99 a month according to a third-party listing ($299.99 a year), with a $1 intro offer for the first month.

Who it's for. Heavy users who want to stay with the same kind of humanizer and know how to keep an eye on a bill.

Who it's not for. Long texts: 1,000 words per request, against 3,000 per input on HIX Bypass. And anyone leaving over billing: there's a $6.99 weekly plan, and reviews describe hard-to-stop subscriptions.

Its limit. Section 8 of its terms is blunt: all purchases are non-refundable. That's less than HIX Bypass's 3 days. We break down its traps on our switch from StealthGPT page.

How to switch. If you take the $1 offer, set a reminder two days before it jumps to $29.99, and pick monthly, never weekly.

HIX Bypass and 6 alternatives side by side

Our default picks: Grammarly for more natural writing without chasing detectors, QuillBot for reworking your drafts with a full toolkit, WriteHuman for judging the output for free before you pay. A useful yardstick: HIX Bypass Standard is $14.99 a month for 5,000 words, so $3 per 1,000 words; Undetectable AI Starter works out to about $1 per 1,000 words month to month. Leave cleanly

Cancel HIX Bypass in six steps

Your texts are copy and paste, so there's nothing hard to export. The real risk is one more renewal, especially on an annual plan. The company's policy is clear on one point: it's on you to contact support before the renewal date. Each step closes a door.

01

Find your plan, your cycle and both accounts

Day 1

Open your dashboard and write down three things: the plan (Standard, Premium, Unlimited), the cycle (monthly or yearly) and the next charge date. Then check your bank statement. Do you also pay for HIX.AI? The two are separate now. Cancelling one doesn't touch the other.

02

Copy your texts and note your word count

Day 1

Copy anything you want to keep into a document you own. Also note your word counter: if you bought less than 3 days ago and used under 1,500 words, you may still be inside the refund window. Past that, don't count on it.

03

Cancel from the Billing tab and keep proof

Critical

The path the company gives: Dashboard, user icon, Billing, then "Need to cancel your subscription?". Screenshot the confirmation with the date visible. If the button isn't there (one reviewer's account showed up as free), go straight to the next step and do it by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid cycle, so you keep access until then. That's normal.

Email support before the renewal date

Trap

The policy asks you to contact support before auto-renewal kicks in, or the charge may go through with no refund. Send a short email: your account address, your plan, and a subject line like "Cancellation request, do not renew". Support aims to reply within 2 business days, so write at least a week before the date, never the night before.

05

Watch your statement, then push back if needed

Check your statement on the next renewal date. If a charge shows up, reply in the same email thread with your screenshot and your written request. If nothing moves, ask your bank to block payments to that merchant, then dispute the charge as a last resort. Several reviews on Trustpilot end up there: written proof makes all the difference.

Try your new tool for free, then disclose

Don't prepay somewhere else. Try Grammarly's free humanizer, WriteHuman's three requests or QuillBot's 125 words on two or three of your real texts. Reread everything that comes out and fix the formatting. If your school, university or client has an AI policy, read it and disclose your use. Owning it exposes you far less than hiding it.

Pitfalls

What makes leaving HIX Bypass go wrong

The same mistakes come up again and again in reviews. None of them is technical. They're billing rules people read too late.

Cancelling the day before renewal

Support aims for 2 business days, and the policy wants contact before the date. An email sent Friday night for a Monday renewal lands too late. Write a week ahead and keep the reply.

Counting on a refund

Three conditions at once: ask within 3 days, use no more than 1,500 words, and no usage in the same calendar month. Once you've humanized a single text, that door is almost always shut. Read the refund policy before you buy, not after.

Mixing up HIX.AI and HIX Bypass

Two sites, two subscriptions. Cancelling the HIX.AI suite doesn't stop HIX Bypass, and the reverse is true too. Check your statement: two different lines can both say HIX.

Paying for Unlimited monthly

$59.99 a month against $15 a month billed yearly: four times the price for the same plan. That doesn't mean you should jump straight to annual somewhere else. Take one month on monthly to judge your new tool, then go yearly with a reminder set a month before it renews.

Believing the "99.5%"

The same page shows 99.5%, then 99%, then "100% undetectable". No vendor number is an independent measurement, and detectors change often. For a wider ranking, read our roundup of the best AI humanizers, or our picks for writers.

Forgetting your school's or client's rules

Detectors get it wrong, including on text written by hand. OpenAI pulled its own detector in 2023 over poor accuracy, and a 2023 study found they often wrongly flag non-native English writers. But a school can still treat bypassing as misconduct. Read the policy, disclose your use, keep your drafts. Our picks for students start from there, and all our guides live on Hack'celeration Labs, including QuillBot alternatives.

FAQ · 10 questions

HIX Bypass alternatives: common questions

  • How do I cancel HIX Bypass?

In your dashboard, click the user icon, then Billing, then "Need to cancel your subscription?". Screenshot the confirmation. Also email support before your renewal date: the company's policy requires it to stop auto-renewal, and it aims to reply within 2 business days. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the cycle you've already paid for.

  • Does HIX Bypass give refunds?

Rarely. You must ask within 3 days of purchase, with no more than 1,500 words used, and the request is refused if the account was used in the same calendar month. Only the current subscription is covered, never earlier months. If you qualify, write right away and attach a screenshot of your word counter.

  • Is HIX Bypass free?

No. Its pricing page has no free plan. Its FAQ mentions a trial without saying how big it is; a third-party listing puts it at 200 words a month, a number the company doesn't confirm. The cheapest paid plan, Standard, is $14.99 a month or $9.99 a month billed yearly.

  • Is HIX Bypass still part of HIX.AI?

Not anymore. The old bypass.hix.ai address redirects to hixbypass.com, and the HIX.AI pricing page no longer lists the humanizer. That's two subscriptions and two cancellations. HIX Bypass's built-in detector is included in its own plans, but every check eats into your monthly word quota.

  • Does HIX Bypass work on Turnitin or GPTZero?

Nothing reliable proves it. The company shows a 99.5% success rate in one spot and 99% in another on the same page. Users report text that still gets flagged, one of them by GPTZero on both samples, and published comparisons range from 20% to 76% detection on Turnitin. A result from today means nothing after a detector's next update.

  • Is HIX Bypass legit?

It's a real product that works for some people: 23% of its Trustpilot reviews are five-star and praise smooth output. But the overall score is 2.4 out of 5 across 34 reviews, with 65% one-star, nearly all about cancelling and getting charged. The product splits opinion less than the way you leave it.

  • What's the best free HIX Bypass alternative?

Grammarly's free humanizer if you want more natural writing without chasing detectors. WriteHuman gives you three free 250-word requests a month, QuillBot a free 125-word rewrite per run, Undetectable AI a 250-word trial. No free tier handles a long document, but each one lets you judge before paying.

  • What if HIX Bypass charges me after I cancel?

Reply in the support email thread with your cancellation screenshot, your written request and the charge date. If nothing moves, ask your bank to block future payments to that merchant and, as a last resort, dispute the charge. Without written proof sent before the renewal date, your case carries much less weight.

  • Can I use HIX Bypass for school assignments?

Not to hide AI from your instructor. Turning in humanized text as graded work counts as misconduct nearly everywhere, and your school decides based on its own policy. If AI is allowed, disclose how you used it; if it's banned, no tool fixes that. Keep your drafts and your document history: they're your best defense against a false accusation.

  • Which HIX Bypass plan makes sense if I stay?

Billed yearly, Unlimited costs $15 a month, one cent more than Premium ($14.99), so it's the only tier worth it at that price. Month to month, the gap is huge ($59.99 vs $29.99). If you stay, note the annual renewal date and email support a week before if you don't want another year.
