Yotpo alternatives: where to go next, and how to move your reviews without losing any

Seven apps matched to your reason for leaving, an eight-step migration plan, and the export traps nobody mentions.

The short answer: Judge.me if you want unlimited product reviews for next to nothing, Okendo if you want reviews and loyalty in one suite without Yotpo's bill, Loox if your store sells on customer photos, and Smile.io to replace Yotpo Loyalty from $15 a month. If Yotpo's Email and SMS shutdown is what pushed you to rethink the whole setup, this is the right moment to split reviews and loyalty into two cheaper tools. One thing to know before you pick: Yotpo exports your reviews as a CSV with links to your photos, but not your Q&A. You copy those by hand or lose them. We compared these seven destinations, their pricing and their import paths in 2026.

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

The real reasons

Why stores outgrow Yotpo, and why leaving feels risky

Yotpo is a capable product, and merchants rate its Shopify app 4.8 out of 5 across more than 4,600 reviews. People don't leave because it's broken. They leave because the bill follows their sales, loyalty costs real money from the first paid tier, and support can be hard to reach. Six reasons, all checked in 2026.

Your bill grows with every order

Yotpo charges in US dollars, monthly, based on your store's order volume. Reviews Starter is $15 up to 99 orders, $59 at 200 to 299, and $129 at 600 to 999. Reviews Pro starts at $119 and climbs to $379 at 4,000 to 5,999 orders, then goes to a custom quote. A strong holiday season can push you up a tier without you changing a thing.

Loyalty starts at $199 a month

Yotpo Loyalty's free plan is generous on volume (up to 4,999 orders a month) but limited to basic points and referrals. Loyalty Pro is $199 a month up to 599 orders and reaches $599 around 5,000 orders. Smile.io's first paid plan is $15. The Reviews plus Loyalty bundle starts at $199 and tops out at $973 a month near 5,000 orders.

Pricing that's hard to read

The pricing page shows Starter at $89 and Pro at $169 "up to 500 orders", while its own FAQ says "from $15". Both are true: $89 and $169 are the 300 to 599 order tier. On the Shopify listing, Yotpo also notes it may bill external charges outside your Shopify invoice. One merchant says they only found out about the smaller plans after signing an annual contract.

Support that starts with a bot

One-star reviews on the Shopify App Store keep coming back to the same story: an AI chatbot that promises a ticket, then a reply that takes longer than promised. On Trustpilot, Yotpo sits at 1.7 out of 5 across 233 reviews, 35% of them one-star, with no visible replies to negative reviews. Email support only comes with the Pro plan.

Email and SMS are gone

Yotpo shut down its Email and SMS products at the end of 2025 to focus entirely on reviews and loyalty, and pointed customers to Attentive and Omnisend. If you bought Yotpo as an all-in-one, part of your migration has already happened. The real question now is whether the remaining pieces are worth what you pay.

Leaving takes some prep

Review export works on every plan, but you get a CSV link by email (it can take up to an hour). Q&A can't be exported, reviews tied to both a product and the store come out twice, and reviews from the last 24 hours may be missing. Some merchants report getting empty files several times in a row. None of this is a dealbreaker, as long as you deal with it before you cancel.

The 7 alternatives

Yotpo alternatives, app by app

For each app: why move to it, who it's for, its limit, how to migrate from Yotpo, and what it costs. Prices are the ones listed in 2026, in US dollars. The score out of 5 comes from our Labs pages and is the same everywhere on the site.

01

Judge.me: the same job for a fraction of the price

Cheapest

Why move to Judge.me. With Yotpo, every order tier costs more. With Judge.me, the price doesn't move with your sales. The free plan, with no time limit, already covers unlimited product and store reviews, photos and videos, rich snippets (the stars under your link in Google), Google reviews sync and an importer. The Awesome plan, at $15 a month, adds AI help, Q&A, reminders, thank-you coupons, stars in Google Shopping and 130+ integrations, Klaviyo and Gorgias among them.

Who it's for. Shopify stores of any size that want solid product reviews without a bill tied to revenue. A store paying $269 a month on Yotpo Pro would pay $15 on Judge.me Awesome.

Who it's not for. A brand that wants reviews and loyalty in one tool: Judge.me has no points program, so you'd pair it with Smile.io. And stores off Shopify: the app is built for Shopify first.

Its limit. The admin is dense, with a lot of settings, and the widgets take some work to match your theme. Merchants still give it 5 out of 5 across close to 50,000 reviews.

How to migrate. Judge.me has a native importer that takes a Yotpo export. Export from Yotpo, load the file into Judge.me's importer, then spot-check a handful of products. Use the 15-day Awesome trial to import everything and connect Google Shopping before you pay.

Okendo: the reviews and loyalty suite, minus Yotpo's pricing

Full suite

Why move to Okendo. It's the closest thing to Yotpo in spirit: reviews, loyalty, referrals, surveys and quizzes in one suite. If you used Yotpo to tie reviews and points together, Okendo saves you from splitting into two tools. It also has a free plan up to 50 orders a month, the same ceiling as Yotpo Reviews Free.

Who it's for. Growing Shopify brands doing roughly 200 to 3,500 orders a month that want one suite and one dashboard.

Who it's not for. A small store that just needs reviews: Judge.me does that for less. And a large brand past 3,500 orders that wants a public price: you'll need a quote.

Its limit. Price jumps fast by tier. Essential is $19 a month up to 200 orders, Growth $119 up to 1,500 (AI summaries, TikTok Shop, Q&A), Power $299 up to 3,500 (campaigns, email and SMS integrations, onboarding). Okendo's own pricing page says its Platform and Bundle plans normally require annual terms, and overages are paid in credits.

How to migrate. Start from your Yotpo export and ask for the import during the 14-day trial. Okendo lists an 8 to 11% discount for annual billing: only lock that in once the import checks out.

Loox: when customer photos close the sale

Photo reviews

Why move to Loox. Loox is built around photo and video reviews. For fashion, jewelry or home decor, a gallery of real customers sells better than a star rating. Its free plan covers up to 500 orders a month, ten times Yotpo Reviews Free.

Who it's for. Visual Shopify stores that want photo reviews front and center without fiddly setup.

Who it's not for. A store that quickly passes 300 orders and wants a stable bill: beyond that, the price climbs in steps. And a brand that wants built-in loyalty.

Its limit. Convert costs $49.99 a month for 300 orders, then $50 more for each extra block of 300. Unlimited is $299.99 a month. One merchant on the App Store complains about plan changes made without notice. Merchant ratings are still excellent: 4.9 across more than 10,000 reviews.

How to migrate. Loox documents the Yotpo import step by step: export the CSV from Yotpo, then in Loox go to Manage Reviews, Import Reviews, and pick Yotpo. The key tip: upload the file exactly as Yotpo exported it, without opening it in a spreadsheet. Loox emails you a summary plus a CSV of failed rows. Fix only that file and re-import it.

Smile.io: replace Yotpo Loyalty for a lot less

Loyalty

Why move to Smile.io. If loyalty is the heavy line on your invoice, this is the biggest saving on the page. Yotpo Loyalty Pro starts at $199 a month. Smile.io is free up to 200 orders, then Essential at $15 (500 orders), Standard at $79 (1,000 orders) and Growth at $199 (2,500 orders, demo required). Pair it with Judge.me for reviews and you've rebuilt Yotpo for a fraction of the price.

Who it's for. Stores that want points, referrals and VIP tiers without paying for a full suite.

Who it's not for. A brand that wants one tool for reviews and loyalty: Smile.io doesn't collect reviews. Look at Okendo instead.

Its limit. Smile.io counts orders per calendar month, refunded orders included. A big sale can bump you up a tier. Past 2,500 orders, Smile Plus is $999 a month, billed annually.

How to migrate. Export your customers' point balances from Yotpo, then import them into Smile.io by CSV. Do this before you announce the switch: a customer who sees a zero balance emails support, and sometimes doesn't come back.

REVIEWS.io: product and brand reviews on a small budget

Brand reviews

Why move to REVIEWS.io. REVIEWS.io collects both product reviews and company reviews, with a public page hosted by a third party. That helps if you also sell outside Shopify, or if shoppers check your brand's reputation before they buy.

Who it's for. Brands that want an independent home for their reviews without Trustpilot's price.

Who it's not for. A store that sends lots of review requests and wants to stay free: the free plan stops at 25 invites a month.

Its limit. Launch is $19 a month for 50 invites and already includes Google seller ratings. Launch Plus, at $45, goes to 500 invites and adds Q&A and surveys. That makes it one of the cheapest ways to keep your stars in Google ads after leaving Yotpo Pro. The free tier is really a trial run, not a plan you can live on.

How to migrate. Start from your Yotpo export and use the 14-day trial to run the import and check how reviews look on a few product pages. Keep both tools running until new reviews are flowing again.

Trustpilot: name recognition, at an annual-contract price

Brand trust

Why move to Trustpilot. Trustpilot isn't a product review app. It's a company review platform that shoppers already know. If your main problem is trust (young brand, high basket), a Trustpilot profile reassures more than stars under a product.

Who it's for. Brands with higher price points or several markets that want a review page independent of their own site.

Who it's not for. Anyone leaving Yotpo to pay less: it's the most expensive option on this page.

Its limit. The free plan allows 50 invites a month. Plus starts at $319 a month per domain and Premium at $799, with a 12-month commitment. For product reviews you still need a second tool, Judge.me for example.

How to migrate. Your Yotpo product reviews don't move to Trustpilot: they're a different kind of review. Keep product reviews in a Shopify app and start Trustpilot collection on new orders. Our guide to switching from Trustpilot breaks down its contract, worth reading before you sign.

Stamped: reviews and loyalty with gentler tiers than Yotpo

Shopify and WooCommerce

Why move to Stamped. Stamped covers reviews and loyalty like Yotpo, and it also runs on WooCommerce. Its first plan is $23 a month up to 200 orders, with no contract, billed every 30 days.

Who it's for. Stores that want a tool in the same family as Yotpo, with a lower bill at high volume.

Who it's not for. A small store: Stamped has no free plan anymore, and the jump from $23 to $99 at order 201 stings.

Its limit. The next tiers are $199 (5,000 orders) and $399 (20,000 orders). Loyalty is billed separately, from $279 a month for 1,500 orders. Our Stamped review scores it 3.7 out of 5.

How to migrate. Install Stamped before removing Yotpo, import your export, check the display, and only then switch Yotpo off. Ask Stamped support which import format it expects before paying the first month. The full price grid is on our Stamped pricing page.

The comparison

Yotpo and its 7 alternatives side by side

Our default pick: Judge.me for reviews, Smile.io if you also need loyalty, Okendo if you'd rather keep one suite. For a sense of scale, take a store doing 700 orders a month. Yotpo Reviews Pro costs $269 a month. Okendo Growth costs $119. Judge.me Awesome costs $15, and Loox Convert comes to about $149.99 ($49.99 plus two $50 blocks). One row per app: the free plan on the left, the first paid price and the migration path on the right.

Move off Yotpo in eight steps

Order matters. Each step protects something: your reviews, your photos, your customers' points, your stars in Google. Plan on one working day for an average store, plus one to two weeks with both tools running side by side.

01

List everything Yotpo does for you

Day 1

Write down every active module: review widgets on product pages, carousels, badges, review request emails, Q&A, loyalty program, referrals, Google stars. Add the integrations plugged in (Klaviyo, Gorgias, your theme). If you were still relying on Yotpo Email or SMS, those were shut down at the end of 2025, so that part should already live somewhere else.

Next to each line, write its replacement in the new tool. That list is your checklist for switch day.

Time
about an hour
Risk if rushed

02

Export your reviews before you cancel

Day 1

In Yotpo, go to Manage, Reviews, then Export. The CSV link arrives by email, usually within an hour, at the account's address. The file holds rating, title, text, date, customer email, product, and links to photos and videos.

Three tips. Don't use the search bar as a filter: that filter doesn't carry into the export. Wait 24 hours after your latest reviews, or they may be missing. And if the file comes back empty, try exporting again, possibly over a shorter period, before you cancel anything.

Format
CSV by email
Available
on every plan
03

Save your Q&A by hand

Trap

Yotpo can't export Q&A. If your product pages have questions and answers, open each page and copy the ones that actually help (sizing, compatibility, care). Let the rest go: a question without a useful answer helps nobody.

Tip: the best answers can move into your product description. They stay there whatever review app you use next.

Yotpo export
not available for Q&A
04

Clean the file without breaking it

Quality

Reviews tied to both a product and the store come out twice. Spot them before importing, or your store rating counts the same customers twice. Keep an untouched copy of the original file.

Careful with Loox: it wants the file exactly as Yotpo exported it. Only clean the file if your destination accepts edits; otherwise let it handle duplicates.

Keep
a raw copy of the CSV
05

Bring customer photos and videos across

Before cancelling

In the export, photos and videos are links to Yotpo's servers, not files. Once your account closes, those links may stop working. Import into your new tool while Yotpo is still active, then confirm the photos are served by the new tool, not by Yotpo.

Risk
photos lost after closing
06

Import into the new app and verify

Day 2

Judge.me has an importer that recognizes Yotpo exports. Loox has a dedicated screen (Manage Reviews, Import Reviews, Yotpo) and emails you a CSV of errors. For the others, use their CSV import and ask support for the exact format during the trial.

After import, compare three numbers: total review count, the average rating of three best sellers, and the number of photo reviews. A gap of more than a few percent means the import needs another pass.

Check
total, ratings, photos
07

Carry over loyalty point balances

Customers

Export your customers' point balances from Yotpo Loyalty, then import them into the new tool (Smile.io takes a CSV). Map your VIP tiers if you had any.

Tell customers by email once balances are live, not before. A plain message ("your points balance hasn't changed, only the rewards page has") heads off a wave of support tickets.

Format
CSV of balances
Announce

08

Move your Google stars, remove Yotpo, then cancel

Last day

If your Google seller ratings came from Yotpo Pro, make sure your destination feeds them too (Judge.me Awesome for Google Shopping, REVIEWS.io from its Launch plan, Trustpilot). Google generally wants around 100 reviews over the past 24 months to show stars, so a tool that starts from zero can make them disappear for a while.

Then remove Yotpo's widgets and code from your theme so product pages don't show two sets of stars. Cancel last. Yotpo doesn't publish contract length or notice periods on its pricing pages: reread your contract and get written confirmation of the cancellation.

Migration pitfalls

What makes a Yotpo migration go wrong

The same mistakes show up in merchant reviews and in the vendors' own import guides. None of them is technical. They're oversights, and each one costs reviews, stars or loyal customers.

Cancelling before you export

Yotpo's export goes through email and can take a few tries. A closed account means no export. Keep Yotpo active until the import is verified in the new tool.

Assuming everything is in the export

Q&A doesn't export, and photos are only links. Find that out after cancelling and it's too late. Copy the useful Q&A and confirm photos load from the new app before you switch off.

Editing the CSV in a spreadsheet

Opening the export in a spreadsheet and saving it can change character encoding and date formats. Loox asks for the file exactly as Yotpo exported it. Work on a copy and import the original.

Losing Google stars along the way

Seller ratings depend on a Google-approved partner and a volume of recent reviews. A destination that isn't connected to Google, or an import Google doesn't recognize, can strip your ads of stars for weeks. Check this before you choose, not after: REVIEWS.io handles it from $19, Judge.me on its Awesome plan. Our review management software ranking shows who handles it.

Leaving two widgets on one page

If Yotpo's code stays in your theme, product pages show two star blocks, sometimes with two different ratings. Remove every Yotpo widget on switch day, then check a product page on mobile.

Comparing prices without counting orders

Yotpo, Okendo, Loox and Smile.io all price on orders, each with its own tiers. Use your busiest month from last year, not an average one, and run the numbers in each tool. Judge.me is the only app on this list whose price stays flat whatever your volume. For Stamped users, our Stamped alternatives page runs the same math.

FAQ · 8 questions

Yotpo alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • What is the best free alternative to Yotpo?

Judge.me, for almost every Shopify store: its free plan keeps reviews unlimited with no order cap. Loox is free up to 500 orders a month, Okendo up to 50. For loyalty, Smile.io is free up to 200 orders.

  • Is Yotpo free?

Partly. Yotpo Reviews has a free plan capped at 50 orders a month, with 200 starter credits in the first month. Yotpo Loyalty is free up to 4,999 orders, but limited to basic points and referrals. Google seller ratings require the Pro plan.

  • How much does Yotpo cost per month?

Reviews Starter runs $15 to $129 a month depending on orders, Reviews Pro $119 to $379, then custom pricing past 6,000 orders. Loyalty Pro starts at $199. On the Shopify listing, annual billing brings Starter to $144 a year and Pro to $1,068.

  • Can I switch review apps without losing my reviews?

Yes, for the reviews themselves: Yotpo exports them as a CSV, and Judge.me or Loox import them directly. What you lose without prep is your Q&A (not exportable) and sometimes photos, which stay hosted on Yotpo. Import everything before you close the account.

  • Which Yotpo alternative also handles loyalty?

Okendo, if you want one suite for reviews, loyalty and referrals. Stamped too, but its loyalty starts at $279 a month. Otherwise, Judge.me for reviews plus Smile.io for loyalty costs $30 a month on their first paid plans.

  • What should replace Yotpo Email and SMS?

Yotpo shut both products down at the end of 2025 and pointed customers to Attentive and Omnisend. For a Shopify store, Klaviyo is the other big option: our guide to switching from Klaviyo covers its alternatives, and our Shopify email marketing ranking compares them.

  • Is Okendo or Judge.me better than Yotpo?

For price, Judge.me wins easily: $15 a month flat against Yotpo Pro's $119 and up. For an all-in-one suite, Okendo is the closer match, with reviews from $19 and loyalty in the same suite. Yotpo keeps an edge for very large brands that want retail syndication and a dedicated success manager on Premium.

  • How long does a Yotpo migration take?

One working day for export, import and checks, plus one to two weeks with both tools running. The slowest part is often getting a complete export: plan for several attempts if your catalog is large.
