Overview

What changes when you vet a French company

Checking a supplier, prepping for a meeting, or picking a company name in France usually means several lookups across directories. With this connector, you ask Claude in plain language. It queries official data from the Registre national des entreprises, France's national business register kept by INPI, and answers with the profile, establishments, or mandates you asked for.

Vet a partner before you sign. search_company finds the company by name or SIREN, the French company ID, then get_company returns its legal form, share capital, registered office, APE activity code, status, and directors.

Map out a person or a group. get_dirigeant_companies lists the companies someone runs or has run, and get_etablissements details a company's establishments with their SIRET site numbers.

Test a name before incorporating. check_name_availability looks for registered company names that match exactly or come close, before you pay for any filing.

What Claude won't do here: it doesn't alter the register, doesn't file any paperwork, and doesn't run a trademark clearance search. By default, the sheet only exposes reading. Nothing runs on its own either: no alert goes out when a company gets a new director. For that kind of watch you need an automation tool, a different job covered on the Integrations hub.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words before you plug in Contract-Factory.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an outside service, so Claude can use it while it answers you.
Tool
A named capability the connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
The consent you give for Claude to use the service, once per person, which you can take back by switching the connector off.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before completing anything that changes an account, shown in the conversation at the right moment.
MCP

Connect

Plug Contract-Factory into Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find the connector

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Contract-Factory in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables it for the organization first.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row and follow the window that opens. If the connector ever stops responding, use Disconnect, then connect it again from that same row.

  3. 03

    Read what you accept

Read the authorization screen before you confirm: that screen, not Claude, sets what the access covers. Here, the publisher says no account and no key are needed on its side.

5 tools

Five tools that query the register without touching anything.

check_name_availability

Checks whether a company name is already registered, surfacing exact matches and close ones. Claude tells you whether the path looks clear or crowded.

When it helps
you're setting up a company in France and torn between three names before drafting the bylaws.
Watch out
this isn't an INPI trademark clearance search, only registered companies.

get_company

Returns a company's full profile from its nine-digit SIREN: legal name, head-office SIRET, EU VAT number, legal form, share capital, registered office, APE code, status, and directors.

When it helps
before signing with a new French supplier, you want to confirm it's active and see who runs it.
Watch out
without a SIREN, Claude first has to go through the name search.

get_dirigeant_companies

Lists the companies someone runs or has run, with their role and the status of each mandate. A last name is enough; a first name narrows it down.

When it helps
you're prepping for a meeting and want to know where else your contact holds a mandate.
Watch out
answers are capped at 30 directors, and a namesake can slip into the list.

get_etablissements

Details a company's establishments, head office, main, and secondary sites, with their SIRET, role, open or closed status, address, and activities.

When it helps
a client gives you a branch SIRET and you want to confirm it matches an open site.
Watch out
the list stops at 20 establishments for companies with many sites.

search_company

Finds companies from a name or a SIREN, ten results per page. It's often the starting point when all you have is a name.

When it helps
a prospect reaches out under a trade name and you want the legal entity behind it.
Watch out
past ten results, ask for the next page or sharpen the name.

Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before any action it takes on an account for you. Here, the publisher describes a service that only looks things up.

On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member can let certain actions through without being asked again. They can also cap what a connector does for the whole organization, for example keeping reads and blocking writes, and nobody bypasses that setting from their own account. On the publisher's side, the service knows neither your identity nor your account, since no sign-up is required.

Plans

Which plans it's available on

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan. A connector-by-connector answer isn't published anywhere.

The general rule is sourced: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop, and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization before each member connects. The publisher says something different, laid side by side in the limits section. For the current status, check the connector's sheet in the official directory.

Limits

Where Contract-Factory stops

A connector isn't an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing fires when a company changes directors or closes a site.

Only the publisher documents this connector: neither Claude's help center nor Anthropic's documentation has a page about it. Its data comes from France's national business register, kept by INPI, under the same terms as the publisher's public directory. The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise, and the directory badge isn't a security audit. The same reading grid applies to other sheets, such as the Claude affinity connector page.

Two official sources disagree

Do you need a specific Claude plan for this connector?

What this page followsThe two texts don't clash head-on, and neither is outdated. Anthropic's rule covers every connector, while the publisher's line targets this one, but it's the publisher speaking, not Anthropic. Check the directory sheet from your own account.

FAQ

Claude Contract-Factory connector FAQ

01What can Claude do with the Contract-Factory connector?
Claude can look up official data on French companies while it answers you. Its five tools find a company by name or SIREN, return its full profile with legal form, share capital, registered office, APE code, status, and directors, detail its establishments with their SIRET numbers, list the companies a person runs or has run, and check whether a name is already registered. The data comes from France's national business register, kept by INPI.
02Can Claude change data through Contract-Factory?
No, per the publisher, its service only looks things up: it never creates, modifies, or deletes any data. The five tools query the register and report what they find, nothing more. No company filing goes through this connector either. Keep the usual caveat in mind, though: a sheet that only shows reading is an observed floor, not a guarantee, since an admin can open capabilities that appear on no public page.
03Does Claude ask before using Contract-Factory?
By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before any action it takes on an account for you. For this connector, the publisher notes that Claude may ask permission to use the tool on your first question, and recommends accepting. No confirmation specific to any of the five tools is described beyond that general rule. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether a member can let certain actions through without a new prompt.
04Which plans is the Contract-Factory connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop, and mobile, with an Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. The publisher claims something different, laid side by side in the limits section. Only the directory sheet shows the current status for your account.
05Does Claude see an account in my name at Contract-Factory?
No, there's no account to see. The publisher says its connector knows neither your identity nor your account, and asks for no key and no sign-up: Claude queries a public register, the same one behind the publisher's online directory. Personal data of sole traders who opted out of sharing stays masked. On the organization side, an owner of a Team or Enterprise workspace can remove the connector or restrict it for everyone.
06Why doesn't Claude find every company or every director?
Because the publisher caps each answer: ten search results per page, 30 directors, and 20 establishments at most. To go further, sharpen the name or ask for the next page. The service also throttles traffic to 60 requests per minute and 2,000 per day per calling IP address. Finally, sole traders who opted out don't show up in the clear, and a namesake can slip into a search by name.
07Claude or an automation tool to monitor companies?
They don't do the same job. With Claude, you query the register on demand, in the flow of a conversation: a profile, a list of mandates, a name to test. After that, nothing happens until you type again. The connector doesn't watch any company and doesn't warn anyone about a new director or a deregistration. For that ongoing watch, you want an automation tool. To check fast before a decision, the connector does the work.
