Overview

What changes once Claude can read your ad creative data

Motion is a creative analytics tool for Meta ads. With the connector, you stop exporting a top-ads table to paste into a chat: you ask Claude which creatives carried spend last month, and it pulls the ranking, the hooks and the demographics from your Motion workspace, then reasons about them with you.

Spot the winners and the fading ads. A performance marketer asks for the best ads of the last 30 days sorted by ROAS. Claude calls get_creative_insights, which ranks creatives by spend, CPA, CTR, hook rate and more, then explains what the top ones share.

Study a hook word by word. For a video ad, get_creative_transcript returns the spoken script with timestamps, and Motion notes that the first 1-3 seconds are the hook. Claude can compare openings across several ads.

Look over a competitor's shoulder. With search_brands and get_inspo_creatives, Claude browses any brand's ad library, even one you do not track, and summarizes its angles and formats.

What Claude will not do: Motion describes its server as read only, so by default the sheet exposes no tool that pauses an ad, edits a campaign or saves a report. It also sees Meta data only for now, and a competitor's ads come without their performance numbers. Nothing runs by itself either: no alert fires when an ad starts to fade. For hands-off flows, an automation platform does that other job; the Integrations hub lists them, and marketing teams often pair this with the Claude activecampaign connector.

Vocabulary

Five words before you connect

The vocabulary of this connector, in one minute.

Connector
A link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named action the connector hands to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own, and the directory lists them by name.
Authorization
The Motion sign-in screen where you give Claude its access. It is granted once, per person, and you can take it back the same way.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that alters your account, shown in the conversation.
MCP
The shared standard behind connectors. It is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Motion.
Connect

Connect Motion Creative Analytics to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Motion in Claude

Open Claude's settings, go to Customize, then Connectors, and look up Motion Creative Analytics. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables it first, then each member signs in individually.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then log in to Motion in the window that Motion opens itself. If the link breaks later, Disconnect and connect again, or withdraw the access from your Motion account.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Look at the screen before you accept it. It belongs to Motion, not to Claude, and it sets what the access covers. It may announce broader rights than Claude uses in practice; asking before each action stays the default.

What Claude reads (13)

13 tools

Thirteen tools that look at your ad data, your brand and other brands' libraries, and leave everything as it is.

get_auth_context

Returns the organizations and workspaces your Motion login opens. Claude calls it first in a session, and a single workspace is picked for you automatically.

When it helps
you work across several brands and want Claude to confirm which workspace it is reading before it answers.

get_creative_insights

Motion's main analytics tool: your creatives ranked by performance, sortable by spend, ROAS, purchases, CPA, CPC, CTR, hook rate or scaling status, with date and AI tag filters.

When it helps
you want the ten ads that carried last month and a plain explanation of what they have in common.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_demographic_breakdown

Splits an ad's results by age band, from 18-24 up to 65+, and by gender, with spend, ROAS, purchase value, cost per purchase and thumbstop ratio.

When it helps
a creative sells well overall and you suspect one age group is doing all the work.
Watch out
without a date range, Motion looks at the last 7 days.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_workspace_brand

Reads the positioning, voice and visual identity your team set up for the brand in Motion.

When it helps
you ask Claude for new ad concepts and want them to sound like your brand, not a generic one.
Watch out
it only returns what someone configured in Motion; an empty profile gives Claude little to work with.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_workspace_competitors

Lists the competitor brands you follow in Motion, with their domains, categories, follower counts and number of active ads.

When it helps
you start a competitive review and want the list your team already agreed on as the starting point.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

search_brands

Looks up any brand by name or domain and returns matches with IDs, logos and industry information, including brands you do not track.

When it helps
a new player shows up in your feed and you want to see its ads without adding it to your tracked list first.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_brand_by_domain

Resolves a brand from a website address or domain, so Claude can go straight to that brand's library or context.

When it helps
all you have is the URL of a rival's landing page and you want to know what ads point to it.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_inspo_brand_context

Brings back an in-depth read of another brand: positioning, voice, tone, messaging angles, product information and an analysis of its customer voice.

When it helps
you brief a copywriter on how a competitor talks to the same audience as you.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_inspo_creatives

Pulls creatives from a brand's ad library with format, copy, headline, call to action, launch date, status, days active and landing page.

When it helps
you want every video a rival launched this quarter, newest first.
Watch out
Motion shows metadata only here; performance numbers exist for your own ads, not theirs.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_creative_summary

Produces an AI-generated digest of a single creative: detected format, a plain-language summary, the strongest hook or headline, and its calls to action.

When it helps
a colleague drops an ad ID in the chat and you want to know what it does before the meeting starts.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_creative_transcript

Returns the spoken script of a video ad in timed segments, with language detection and an English translation when the ad is in another language.

When it helps
you compare the first seconds of five videos to see which hook holds attention.
Watch out
video only; a static image has no transcript to pull.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_glossary_values

Reads your workspace's AI tags, such as asset type, visual format, messaging angle, hook tactic or offer type, the categories your team works with.

When it helps
you want results grouped by the categories your team already uses rather than by labels Claude would make up.

Sourcehelp.motionapp.com · August 3, 2026 ↗

get_reports

Lists the reports saved in Motion, or opens one to read its full setup: filters, attribution windows, metrics and comparison settings.

When it helps
the weekly top-ads report exists already and you want Claude to start from it instead of rebuilding the view.

Undocumented (1)

1 tool

The directory lists this name and nothing more. Motion's article does not mention it, so this page does not guess what it does.

submit_feedback

This name appears in the directory's tool list and that is all we know. Motion's help article describes thirteen tools and never this one, and no Claude page covers it, so the page says nothing about its effect.

Watch out
whatever it does, the general approval rule applies to it.
Approvals

What Claude checks with you first

By default, Claude stops and asks before each action it takes on an account for someone. With this connector, the documented tools only read, so most sessions never reach that prompt.

On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without a prompt each time, and they can restrict what a connector may do for the whole organization. Claude also works with the rights of the person who connected and nothing more: Motion says each user signs in individually and sees the same workspaces and data they already see in the Motion app, across every organization where they have permissions.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. That answer, connector by connector, is not published anywhere.

The published rule is general: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector for the organization before members can connect. For the live state of this one, check the Motion Creative Analytics sheet in the official directory.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you, so nothing happens when an ad starts to decline or a competitor launches a campaign.

This page relies on Motion's own help article and the directory sheet: no Claude help article covers this connector. A read-only list is an observed floor, not a guarantee, since an administrator can open actions no public sheet shows. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it neither picks a publisher's tools nor guarantees their behavior. Connect it knowing it comes from Motion itself, and read the rest of this section before relying on it for a client report.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Motion Creative Analytics connector

01What can Claude do with the Motion Creative Analytics connector?
Claude can read and analyze your Meta ad data held in Motion. Thirteen documented tools cover your workspaces, creatives ranked by performance, age and gender breakdowns, one-ad summaries, video transcripts, your brand profile, tracked competitors, any brand's ad library and intelligence, your AI tags and your saved reports. Motion presents it as a way to see what works, what is fading, and what to make next. One more tool name on the directory sheet is described by no official source.
02Can Claude pause ads or change anything in Motion?
No documented tool does that. Motion describes its server as read only, and every tool it documents reads data: rankings, breakdowns, transcripts, libraries and reports. So by default, the sheet exposes no tool that pauses an ad, edits a campaign or saves a report. That is a floor observed on public pages, not a guarantee, because an administrator can open actions that no public sheet shows. The single undocumented tool stays unexplained rather than guessed.
03Does Claude ask before it acts in my Motion account?
By default, yes: Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone. Since the documented tools here only read, most questions run without reaching that point. No source describes a confirmation for the undocumented tool either, so the default rule covers it. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether members may let some actions pass without a prompt, and can restrict what any connector does for the whole organization.
04Which Claude plans is the Motion Creative Analytics connector available on?
No official source says so for a single connector: none of the 819 directory sheets shows plan availability. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and that on Team and Enterprise an Owner or Primary Owner turns a connector on for the organization first. For the current state of this one, open its sheet in the official directory while signed in to your own account.
05Can Claude see every workspace in our Motion organization?
It sees exactly what you see. Motion says each user authenticates individually, and once connected has access to all workspaces across all organizations where they have permissions, which is the same data visible in the Motion app. A workspace you cannot open stays closed to Claude as well. Roles matter too: only Owners, Admins and Collaborators can connect, while guests and partner share users cannot authenticate at all, whatever workspace they belong to.
06Why can Claude not see my TikTok or YouTube ads through Motion?
Because Motion's connection currently covers Meta only. Its help article says TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn are not available yet. Even for Meta, Claude needs real data to read: Motion recommends connecting at least one ad platform source in your workspace first, otherwise there is no performance to analyze. And when Claude looks at another brand's library, it gets formats, copy and dates, but no spend or ROAS, which Motion keeps for your own ads.
07Claude or an automation tool for Motion Creative Analytics?
They do different jobs, so this is not a ranking. Claude is for thinking with your data in a conversation: which hooks work, what a competitor is testing, what to brief next, always because you asked. An automation tool runs without you, on a schedule or an event, for example moving a weekly export somewhere. Here the connector only reads, so any repeated hands-off task belongs to automation, while analysis and ideas belong in the conversation.
