Claude DocuSeal connectorWhat Claude can do in your DocuSeal account.
The Claude DocuSeal connector exposes 4 tools. 2 of them read your templates and submissions, 2 change something in your account, and none is left undocumented. Below: what Claude finds, what it can send to real signers, and what nobody has written down yet.

What changes for the person who chases signatures
Instead of opening DocuSeal, hunting for the right template and copying signer emails by hand, you tell Claude who needs to sign what. It looks up the template, prepares the send and reports back in the conversation which submissions are still waiting. The whole loop stays in one chat window.
Send a contract without leaving the chat. An office manager needs a lease addendum signed by two tenants: search_templates finds the addendum by name, then send_documents emails each signer a personal signing link.
Turn a fresh PDF into a signable form. A new supplier agreement arrives as a PDF. With create_template, Claude builds a template from the file link, and DocuSeal detects the signature and form fields on its own.
Know who is still pending. Before a Friday review, search_documents pulls signed and pending submissions by signer name, email, phone or template, with their status.
Now what the connector does not do. Its sheet lists four tools and no more: DocuSeal documents a fifth one for loading a template with its fields and roles, but it is absent from the directory sheet, so do not count on it. Nothing runs on its own either; no tool wakes up when someone signs. For that kind of event-driven follow-up, an automation tool is the right job, and our DocuSeal Make integration page covers that side.
The vocabulary in one minute
Five words you will meet while plugging DocuSeal into Claude.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work in it while answering you.
- Tool
- One named action a connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs by itself; the directory lists each by name.
- Authorization
- The sign-in screen of the service itself, where you hand Claude its access. Granted once per person, and you can take it back.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes through with something that changes your account, shown right in the chat.
- MCP
- The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant such as Claude talk to an outside service.
Plug DocuSeal into Claude in three steps
- 01
Find DocuSeal in Claude
In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for DocuSeal in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to switch the connector on first so each member can sign in.
- 02
Start the connection
Click Connect on its row, then sign in to DocuSeal in the window that DocuSeal opens itself. If the link ever breaks, use Disconnect and plug it back in.
- 03
Read the authorization screen
Read DocuSeal's authorization screen before you accept. It belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it is what decides what the access covers. You can also withdraw that access later from your DocuSeal account.
The 4 tools, sorted by what they do
DocuSeal gives Claude 4 tools: 2 that read your account, 2 that change something in it.
Two groups: what Claude reads and what it changes. Tool names stay exactly as Claude shows them, in English.

What Claude reads (2)
2 toolsTwo tools that look through templates and submissions without touching them.
search_templates
Looks up your DocuSeal templates by name and returns the matches with their IDs, so Claude knows exactly which document you mean.
search_documents
Finds signed or pending submissions by the signer's name, email, phone or the template used, and shows each one's status with the signer details.
What Claude changes (2)
2 toolsTwo tools that act on your DocuSeal account. No source spells out their confirmation, so the general rule below applies.
create_template
Approval: see the ruleBuilds a new template from a PDF or DOCX link, or an empty one with only a name plus a link to finish uploading in DocuSeal. Signature and form fields are detected automatically.
send_documents
Approval: see the ruleSends a template out for signature to the people you name. Each signer receives an email with a personal link, so this action reaches real inboxes outside your account.
What Claude asks before it acts
By default, Claude stops and asks you before any action it takes on an account on your behalf. The request shows up in the conversation, at the moment it matters.
On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organization, for instance keeping reading open and closing writing. That setting applies to everyone and nobody gets around it from their own account. Finally, Claude works with your rights and nothing beyond: a template you cannot open in DocuSeal stays closed to it too.
Which plans include it
None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. The answer per connector is published nowhere, and that is a real hole in the catalog rather than a gap in our reading.
The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner opens a connector for the organization before members can each sign in. For the live state of this one, go to DocuSeal's sheet in the directory, the only place that shows it.
Where the Claude DocuSeal connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing starts when a document is signed or a submission expires.
This connector is documented only by its publisher: neither Claude's help center nor Anthropic's developer docs have a page for it, so everything here comes from the directory sheet and DocuSeal's own guide. The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise, since an administrator can open actions that appear on no public sheet. The partner badge is not a security audit either, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it does not control which tools a publisher exposes. For a wider view of the other families, see the Integrations hub.
