Claude Fantastical connectorWhat Claude can do in your Fantastical account.
The Claude Fantastical connector exposes 5 tools. 1 reads your events, 3 change your calendar (create, reschedule, delete), and 1 is documented nowhere. Below: what Claude finds, what it can move or remove, and how you set each tool to ask first.

What changes when Claude can work in your calendar
You stop switching between the chat and Fantastical to check a date or book a slot. You ask Claude in plain words, it searches the events in your current calendar set, and it can add, rename, reschedule or remove one for you. Flexibits says the same phrasing its own parser understands, like "after lunch" or "sometime Thursday", works in the conversation.
Find the meeting you half remember. A client call from last month, name forgotten, date vague. queryCalendarItems searches events by name or by date and brings back what matches, so Claude can tell you when it was and what it was called.
Book it without opening the app. You tell Claude to set up a review with the design team next week, end of the day. createCalendarItem puts the new event in Fantastical. If the request is unclear, Flexibits says Claude asks a quick follow-up instead of guessing.
Move or cancel on the fly. The standup slips by an hour: modifyCalendarItem renames or reschedules it. The offsite is off: deleteCalendarItem removes the event.
What it will not do: the directory sheet mentions tasks, but Flexibits' help page only describes events, so do not count on it for your to-do list. It runs only in Claude Desktop on a Mac, and nothing fires on its own: Claude calls these tools while it answers you. To compare with a connector on a work account, see the Claude asana connector page.
The vocabulary in one minute
Five words you will run into while adding Fantastical to Claude.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and an app you already use, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
- Tool
- One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that changes your calendar, shown in the chat when it matters.
- Directory
- The official catalogue where each connector has its sheet: publisher, purpose, and the tools it exposes.
- MCP
- The shared standard connectors are built on, which is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside app such as Fantastical.
Add Fantastical to Claude in three steps
- 01
Find Fantastical in Claude's settings
In Claude Desktop, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Fantastical in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector first, then each member can use it.
- 02
Start the setup from its row
Launch the installation from the Fantastical row. If a sign-in window from the service appears, that is where you grant access. If the link breaks later, use Disconnect and add it again.
- 03
Check what you are granting
Read the access screen before you confirm. It belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it sets what the access covers. Anything you grant there can be taken back the same way.
The 5 tools, sorted by what they do
Fantastical gives Claude 5 tools: 1 that read your account, 3 that change something in it, and 1 no official source describes.
Three groups: what Claude reads, what it changes, and the one tool no official source describes. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them.
- 1 read
- 3 write
- 1 not documented
What Claude reads (1)
1 toolOne tool that looks through your events without changing them.
queryCalendarItems
Looks up events in Fantastical by name or by date and returns what it finds, so Claude can answer from your real schedule instead of assuming.
What Claude changes (3)
3 toolsThree tools that alter your calendar. No source gives them a confirmation of their own, so the general rule below applies.
createCalendarItem
Approval: see the ruleAdds a new event to Fantastical from what you type in the chat, with the date parsed the way Fantastical reads natural phrasing.
deleteCalendarItem
Approval: see the ruleRemoves an existing event from Fantastical.
modifyCalendarItem
Approval: see the ruleChanges an event that already exists: its title, or its time. You keep the same entry, only moved or relabelled.
Undocumented (1)
1 toolThe directory publishes this name and nothing else. No official text says what it does, and we will not guess from a name.
queryCalendars
No official source describes this tool: the directory lists its name, and Flexibits' help page, which counts four tools, does not mention it. Its effect is undocumented.
What Claude asks before it acts
By default, Claude stops and asks before any action it takes on your behalf. The request shows up in the chat, at the moment it matters.
Flexibits adds a control of its own: each Fantastical tool can be set to Always allow, Needs Approval (it asks every time) or Blocked (never used). On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners also decide whether members may let some actions through without a prompt, and they can limit what a connector does for everyone, keeping search open and closing changes. Claude works with your access and nothing more.
Which plans include it
None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan. That answer, connector by connector, is published nowhere; it is a real gap in the catalogue.
The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and desktop extensions like this one install on Claude Desktop. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector before members connect. For the current status, the Fantastical sheet in the official directory is the reference. Only Flexibits documents this connector; Anthropic has no page on it.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you; nothing happens on its own when an invitation arrives or an event starts.
The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: an administrator can open actions that appear on no public sheet. The partner badge is not a security audit either, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not pick the tools a publisher exposes and does not guarantee they behave as described. Install what comes from a publisher you trust, here Flexibits. More connector pages sit in the Integrations hub.
