Claude Files.com connectorWhat Claude can do in your Files.com account.
The Claude Files.com connector exposes 61 tools. 40 read your site (files, share links, users, logs), 21 change it (copy, move, delete, share, manage accounts), and none is left undescribed. Below: what Claude does, what it asks first, and what your key allows.

What changes when Claude can work on your Files.com site
Files.com presents itself as a secure file orchestration platform; your site there holds folders, share links, users and their logs. With the connector, you stop clicking through the admin screens to answer "who has access" or "did the file arrive". You ask Claude, it calls the right tool, and it works with exactly the permissions of the account you connected.
Answer access questions fast. List_Permission shows who may reach which folder, and List_User gives the accounts on the site. Before an audit, that is the inventory in one question.
Check a transfer without digging. A partner's SFTP drop is missing: List_Sftp_Action_Log shows what came in, and List_For_Folder shows what sits in the folder now.
Share and clean up. Create_Bundle makes a share link for an outside contact, and Delete_Bundle closes it when the job is done. Move_File and Zip_File tidy the folder behind it.
What it will not do: run or edit an automation, change a remote server, or restore a deleted file, none of which appear in the listed tools. With a non-administrator key, Files.com closes the site administration functions, so account and group management may be refused. And nothing starts on its own; Claude calls these tools while it answers. For scheduled file flows on the same platform, the Files.com Make integration covers that use, since it runs on its own schedule.
The vocabulary in one minute
Six words you will meet while connecting Files.com.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
- Tool
- One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
- Authorization
- The Files.com sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use afterwards. Given once per person, and reversible.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that changes your site, shown in the chat when it matters.
- Share link
- What Files.com's tools call a bundle: a link that gives someone outside your team access to chosen files.
- MCP
- The shared standard connectors are built on, which is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Files.com.
Connect Files.com to Claude in three steps
- 01
Find Files.com in the connector list
In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Files.com. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector first; each member then connects on their own.
- 02
Start the connection
Click Connect on its row, then sign in to your Files.com site in the browser window it opens. The account you use there sets everything Claude can reach.
- 03
Review the authorization screen
Read the screen before you approve. It belongs to Files.com, not to Claude, and it decides what the access covers. If the link breaks, Disconnect and connect again.
The 61 tools, sorted by what they do
Files.com gives Claude 61 tools: 40 that read your account, 21 that change something in it.
Two groups: what Claude reads and what it changes. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them; each description comes from Files.com's own tool reference.

What Claude asks before it acts
By default, Claude stops and asks before any action it takes on your behalf. The request shows up in the chat, at the moment it matters.
On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether members can let some actions through without a prompt each time, and they can limit what a connector does for the whole organization, for example keeping lookups open and closing deletions. Files.com adds its own layer: Claude works with the permissions of the connected account, and its actions are logged like those of any other API client, so they stay auditable.
Which plans include it
None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan. That answer, connector by connector, is not published anywhere; it is a real gap in the catalogue.
The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector for the organization before members connect. The Files.com sheet in the official directory shows the current status. Everything specific here comes from Files.com alone.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you; nothing happens on its own when a file lands, even though Files.com itself runs automations.
The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: an administrator can open actions that no public sheet shows. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic writes on every sheet that it does not choose a publisher's tools or guarantee how they behave. Files.com's own documentation, not Anthropic's, is the source for this connector. Anthropic has no page on it. Other connector pages sit in the Integrations hub.
