Claude GoDaddy connectorWhat Claude can do in your GoDaddy account.
The Claude GoDaddy connector exposes 2 tools. 2 read, 0 write, 0 left undocumented. Oddly for a connector, it never opens your GoDaddy account: it searches public domain data. Here is what it checks, what it refuses, and who can switch it off.

What changes when you name a project
Naming something usually means a pile of registrar tabs open side by side. With the connector plugged in, you brainstorm with Claude and it checks each idea against live GoDaddy data as you go, then proposes alternatives when your favourite is taken. The whole back-and-forth stays in one conversation.
Kill dead ideas fast. You are torn between three names for a coffee brand. check_domain tells Claude whether each exact address can be registered right now, so the shortlist only keeps what is actually free.
Get a fresh batch when you are stuck. Describe the business in a sentence, say a bike repair shop in Leeds, and suggest_domains returns available names built from those keywords.
Stress-test a rebrand before the meeting. Ask Claude for variations around a name the board likes, then have it check the top picks one by one, so you walk in with options that exist.
Now what it will not do. GoDaddy is explicit: the connector cannot register a domain, touch DNS records, transfer a name, change account settings or pay for anything. Buying still happens on godaddy.com. It never signs in to your account either, since it only uses public data. And nothing runs in the background: Claude will not watch a taken name and warn you the day it frees up. If you need scheduled steps around your domains, that is a job for an automation tool; our GoDaddy Make integration page covers that side, a different job rather than a better or worse one.
The vocabulary in one minute
Five words you will meet while plugging GoDaddy in.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and an outside service, so Claude can use that service while it answers you.
- Tool
- One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the tools it needs by itself; the directory lists them by name.
- Authorization
- The service's own sign-in screen, where you grant the access Claude uses afterwards. Given once per person, and revocable.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that changes an account, shown in the chat when it matters.
- MCP
- The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Plug GoDaddy into Claude in three steps
- 01
Find GoDaddy in Claude
In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for GoDaddy in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to switch the connector on before members can use it.
- 02
Start the connection
Click Connect on its row. For most services a sign-in window from the service itself opens next, and you log in there; if the link ever breaks, use Disconnect and plug it back in.
- 03
Read what you are agreeing to
If the service shows an authorization screen, read it before you accept: it belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it sets what the access covers. Access granted there can also be withdrawn later from the service side.
The 2 tools, sorted by what they do
GoDaddy gives Claude 2 tools: 2 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.
Both tools read public domain data. Their names stay in English, exactly as Claude shows them.
- 2 read
What Claude reads (2)
2 toolsTwo lookups on public domain data. Neither touches an account.
check_domain
Claude asks GoDaddy whether one precise address, extension included, can be registered at this moment, and tells you yes or no in the chat.
suggest_domains
Hand it keywords, a product idea or a one-line business description, and it comes back with names that are still free to register.
What Claude asks before acting
By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before every action it takes on an account on your behalf. Here that rule has little to catch: both tools only read public data.
On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members may let some actions through without being asked each time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organisation, keeping reads and closing writes for instance, and nobody overrides that from their own account. Claude also works with the rights of the person connected and nothing more: what you cannot reach yourself, it cannot reach either.
Which plans include it
Out of 819 sheets in the official directory, none shows availability by plan. The connector-by-connector answer is published nowhere; that is a real gap in the catalogue.
The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns the connector on for the organisation before each member can use it. For the current state, the GoDaddy sheet in the official directory is the one place to check.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing fires when a domain expires or becomes free again.
By default the sheet only exposes reads, and that is a floor, not a promise: an admin can open actions that no public sheet shows. The directory's partner badge is not a security audit either, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes. Everything on this page comes from GoDaddy's own documentation; neither Claude's help centre nor Anthropic's developer docs cover this connector. Other apps and platforms are listed on our Integrations page.
