Overview

What changes once Claude can open your research

Listen Labs holds your user studies, their interview transcripts and AI-generated analysis reports. With the connector on, you stop clicking through the dashboard study by study: you ask Claude which studies mention onboarding friction, and it finds them, opens the report or the transcripts, and works from that material inside the chat.

Find the study you half remember. list_studies brings up the studies you can access, and search_across_studies runs a keyword search across them when you only recall a theme.

Start from the analysis, not from zero. Once a study's analysis has run, get_study_analysis fetches the AI report so you start from that report and its sourced quotes instead of rereading everything.

Go back to what people actually said. get_study_responses pulls interview transcripts page by page, and get_response zooms in on one respondent when a quote needs its context.

What Claude will not do with this connector as listed: the directory sheet shows reading only, so creating, editing or launching a study is not among its tools, even though Listen Labs' own docs describe those actions (more on that in the limits). It cannot read an analysis that has not run yet. And nothing happens on its own: no tool wakes up when new responses arrive. For the rest of our connector pages, start from the Integrations hub.

Vocabulary

Five words before you connect

The vocabulary around this connector, short and plain.

Connector
A link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can use it while answering you.
Tool
One named capability the connector hands Claude. Claude chooses which to call as it answers; the directory lists each by name.
Authorization
The service's own sign-in screen, where you grant Claude the access it will use. Granted once per person, and revocable.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before doing something that changes an account, shown in the chat at that moment.
MCP
The shared standard behind connectors, the layer that lets an assistant such as Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Connect Listen Labs to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Locate Listen Labs

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and search for Listen Labs. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector first; members then sign in one by one.

  2. 02

    Run the sign-in

Click Connect on its row and log in to Listen Labs in the window the service opens. You need an account with access to at least one organization. If the link breaks later, use Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Read the permission screen

Go through the authorization screen before you accept. It is Listen Labs' screen, not Claude's, and it decides what the access covers. You can withdraw that access later from the Listen Labs side too.

Tools

The 5 tools, all on the reading side

Listen Labs gives Claude 5 tools: 5 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.

Five tools, each described in Listen Labs' research skill, linked from its documentation. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

list_studies

Brings back the studies you can access, with filters on title, status or folder, response counts and whether an analysis is ready. Name a study and Claude narrows the list to it.

When it helps
you remember the "pricing page" study from last quarter but not its exact title.
Watch out
check the analysis-ready flag here before asking for a report.

get_study_responses

Pulls respondent interview transcripts for a study, in pages, with filters, and with links back to Listen Labs. Claude reads them to quote people or spot patterns across interviews.

When it helps
a product manager wants every mention of a competitor in last month's churn interviews.
Watch out
only completed transcripts are readable.

get_response

Opens a single respondent in depth. It needs the respondent ID that the transcripts tool hands back, so Claude usually runs that one first.

When it helps
one sharp quote in a summary needs the full conversation around it before it goes into a slide.

get_study_analysis

Fetches the AI-generated analysis report of a study, in markdown with sourced quotes, with its quotes sourced.

When it helps
leadership asks for three takeaways before tomorrow's roadmap review.
Watch out
a new or running study may have no report yet; this tool returns nothing useful until the analysis has completed.

search_across_studies

Runs a keyword search over all the studies you can reach, matching titles, goals, classifications and analysis themes. Claude gets a list of hits to open next.

When it helps
before launching new research on checkout, you want to know whether a past study already covered it.

Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account on someone's behalf.

All five Listen Labs tools read, and no source says whether Claude asks before running any of them, so the default rule is the reference. On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members may let certain actions run without a prompt each time, and they can cap what a connector does for the whole organization. Listen Labs adds its own layer: the integration acts as you, with the same permissions as the web app, and read-only tools need at least view access on a study.

Plans

Which plans this works on

Nobody publishes plan availability connector by connector: 0 of the 819 directory sheets shows it.

The general rule is what exists. Remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns the connector on for the organization before members connect. Listen Labs' documentation says nothing about Claude plans. The connector's sheet in the official directory is the only place showing its current state for your account.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers, so a finished interview or a fresh report does not reach you unless you ask.

By default the sheet lists reading only. That is an observed floor, not a ceiling: an administrator can open actions that appear on no public sheet. This connector is documented by its publisher alone, with no Claude help page. Listen Labs states that the integration acts as you, with the same permissions as its web app. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on each sheet that it does not pick a publisher's tools or vouch for them.

Two official sources disagree

Can Claude create, edit or launch a Listen Labs study?

What this page followsNothing says which one is newer for the directory connector. The sheet lists five reading tools; the publisher's docs, and its research skill, describe study creation and launch on top. This page sticks to the five listed tools: check the tool list shown on your own account.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Listen Labs connector

01What can Claude do with the Listen Labs connector?
With this connector, Claude browses and reads your Listen Labs research from the conversation. Its five listed tools list the studies you can access, run a keyword search across them, fetch a study's AI analysis report, pull interview transcripts page by page and open a single respondent in depth. All of it stays within the studies your own Listen Labs user can already see, with at least view access. Transcripts keep deep links back to Listen Labs.
02Can Claude create or launch a study through this connector?
Not with the tools the directory sheet lists: all five read. Listen Labs' documentation does describe creating, editing and launching studies from an AI client, and its research skill names tools for that, but none of them appears on the sheet. A read-only list is also a floor, since an administrator can open actions no public sheet shows. Check the tools listed on your own account before counting on either version.
03Does Claude ask before it uses Listen Labs?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone. No source describes a specific confirmation for any of the five Listen Labs tools, so that default is the rule to rely on. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether members may skip the prompt for certain actions, and they can restrict what the connector does across the organization in a way members cannot undo.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability for a single connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule opens remote connectors to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. Listen Labs' own documentation says nothing about Claude plans. The connector's sheet in the directory, opened from your account, gives its current state.
05Does Claude see every study in our Listen Labs account?
No. The integration acts as you and respects the same permissions as the Listen Labs web app, so Claude only sees studies your own user can already access, in organizations you belong to. Reading needs at least view access on a study. A colleague with broader rights would get broader results from the same question. On top of that, an owner on a Team or Enterprise workspace can narrow what the connector may do for everyone.
06Why does Claude find no analysis for my study?
Because the analysis tool needs a completed analysis run, and new or in-progress studies may not have one yet. Listen Labs suggests checking the study list first, where each study shows whether its analysis is ready. Until then, Claude can still read the completed transcripts and work from those directly, then come back to the report once the analysis has finished on the Listen Labs side. The report itself is generated by Listen Labs, not by Claude.
07Should I use Claude or an automation tool with Listen Labs?
They solve different problems, so choose by use, not by ranking. Claude fits the moment you want to question your research in plain words: find a study, read the report, check a quote. An automation tool fits work that should run unattended, such as reacting when something changes. The Listen Labs connector does not do that on its own, because Claude calls its tools only while answering you. New responses to a study reach the chat only when you ask for them.
