Claude Plaud connectorWhat Claude can do in your Plaud account.
The Claude Plaud connector exposes 5 tools. All 5 read your recording library, 0 write to it, 0 are undocumented. Below: what Claude pulls from a recording, what it leaves untouched, and where your audio data goes on the way.

Your recordings, answerable in a chat
A Plaud recorder captures the meeting. The work starts after: finding the right file, scrolling a transcript, pulling out who promised what. With the connector, you ask Claude in plain words and it opens the recording, the transcript or the Plaud summary itself, then answers inside the conversation.
Catch up on a meeting you missed. You name last Tuesday's standup, list_files narrows the library by name and date, and get_note brings back the summary, action items and key topics Plaud already produced.
Check who said it. A client disputes a figure from a call. get_transcript returns the full text with timestamps and speaker labels, so Claude can point you to the exact moment and the person who spoke.
Draft the follow-up. Plaud's own quick start suggests asking for a follow-up email built from a meeting's action items. Claude writes that draft in the chat, from what the note tool returned. It does not send it anywhere.
Now the part the directory sheet leaves out. By default the sheet only exposes reading: no tool renames, moves or deletes a recording. The keyword search matches recording names, not what was said inside them. And nothing runs by itself when a new recording lands. If you want that kind of background job, an automation tool does it, which is a different trade; the Integrations hub gathers that side.
The vocabulary in one minute
Five words you'll meet while plugging Plaud in.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work on it while it answers you.
- Tool
- One named action a connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
- Authorization
- The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use. Given once per person, and you can take it back.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before it finishes something that changes your account, shown in the chat when it matters.
- MCP
- The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Plaud.
Plug Plaud into Claude in three steps
- 01
Find Plaud in Claude
In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Plaud in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector first, then each member signs in on their own.
- 02
Start the connection
Click Connect on the Plaud row, then sign in to Plaud in the window Plaud opens itself. If that link ever breaks later on, use Disconnect and plug it back in.
- 03
Read the authorization screen
Read the authorization screen before you accept. It belongs to Plaud, not to Claude, and it decides what the access covers. The same access can be withdrawn later from your Plaud account.
The 5 tools, sorted by what they do
Plaud gives Claude 5 tools: 5 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.
One group only: everything this connector exposes reads. The names stay exactly as Claude shows them.
- 5 read
What Claude reads (5)
5 toolsFive tools that look into your recordings without changing them.
list_files
Browses your recording library and can narrow it with a keyword on the recording name, a start date and an end date. Without a filter, the list comes back page by page.
get_file
Pulls every detail Plaud keeps on a single recording. Beyond the basics, this is the only tool that also returns a temporary audio download link, the transcript segments and the AI notes in Markdown.
get_note
Brings back what Plaud's AI already wrote about a recording: the summary, the action items and the key topics. Claude reads Plaud's work instead of rereading the whole conversation.
get_transcript
Returns the complete transcript of a recording, with timestamps and the label of each speaker. That lets Claude quote a passage word for word, tell you at what point of the recording it was said, and name the speaker Plaud attached to it.
get_current_user
Shows the details of the Plaud account the connector is currently using. It is a quick way to confirm Claude is looking at your library and not a teammate's.
What Claude asks before acting
By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it carries out on an account for you. The request shows up in the chat, at the moment it matters.
With Plaud, the listed tools only read, so in daily use you mostly see answers, not confirmation requests. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member can let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also restrict what a connector may do for the whole organization, and nobody overrides that from their own account. And Claude works with your Plaud access, nothing more.
Which plans include it
None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan. The connector-by-connector answer is published nowhere: it is a real gap in the catalogue, not a miss in our research.
The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization before each member can sign in. For the current state, check the Plaud sheet in the official directory.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing starts when a new recording syncs or a meeting ends.
Only Plaud documents this connector; no Claude help page covers it. By default the sheet only exposes reading, which is an observed floor, not a promise: an administrator can open actions that appear on no public sheet. The directory badge is not a security audit either, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes. Plaud's docs also describe sign-in and sign-out tools that are not among the five listed. For comparison with another connector, see the Claude asana connector.
