What you can automate

What does the Audiense Insights Make integration do?

The Audiense Insights Make integration lets a Make scenario, the automation you build in Make, read what an Audiense Insights report found: who the audience is, what content it engages with and which influencers matter to it. Each step of that scenario is a module, one brick that does one job, and none of it needs code.

A status check before anything else. Get Report Information tells you whether a report is finished or failed, and once it is finished it returns details about the full audience and its segments. That makes it the natural first brick: the rest of the scenario only runs on a report that is ready.

An influencer shortlist for a campaign. Get Segment Influencers ranks the influencers of one segment by affinity, while Get Segment Most Unique Influencers compares them with a baseline and sorts them by uniqueness. Send either list to a spreadsheet and your partnerships team starts from real audience data instead of follower counts.

A content brief for the editorial team. Get Full Audience Content Insights and Get Segment Content Insights return the content the audience engages with. Pushed into a document or a chat message, they become the starting point of the next brief.

Two limits are worth knowing before you start. The app has no trigger, so a scenario starts on a schedule or on another app. And the Make documentation for this app says its content is AI-generated and may contain mistakes, so check important details with Audiense Insights directly. The same app may also exist as an n8n node; the n8n vs Make comparison helps you pick, and the Make training covers the editor from scratch.

Connect

How do you connect Audiense Insights to Make?

  1. 01

    Check both accounts first

The documentation asks for an active paid account on Audiense and on Talkwalker, with API keys for each platform. Without them the connection, your Audiense Insights account linked to Make once and reused by every module, cannot be created.

  2. 02

    Open the connection window

In your scenario, add any Audiense Insights module and click Create a connection. The Connection name field is optional, but a clear name helps when several people or projects share the same Make account.

  3. 03

    Paste your OAuth2 credentials

In Audiense Insights, go to Settings, then Project Settings and Connected Accounts. Copy the Client ID and the Client secret, paste them into Make, and follow the on-screen instructions to finish.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Audiense Insights

GoalWhen the scenario runs on its schedule, Make checks an Audiense Insights report and, once it is finished, pulls the influencers of a segment.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

From the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + to add the first module. Search for Audiense Insights and pick Get Report Information.

  2. 02

    Link your account

Click Create a connection and use the credentials from the previous section. Once the connection exists, fill the module fields so it points at the report you care about.

  3. 03

    Add the influencer search

Click the + on the right of the first module and add Get Segment Influencers. Map the data returned by Get Report Information so the search reads the same report.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once. Make executes the scenario one time and shows the bundles, the items passed from one module to the next, that each module received. Check the influencer list looks right.

  5. 05

Schedule it and switch it on

Open the clock on the first module to set the schedule. A new scenario runs every 15 minutes by default, which is also the shortest interval on the Free plan. Then switch the scenario on.

Modules

What can Audiense Insights do in Make?

Audiense Insights gives you 10 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Audiense Insights1

Get Full Audience Content Insights

Action

In Make“Get the relevant content that the full audience members are engaging with”

This action hands you the content the whole audience of a report engages with, so your editorial team works from what people actually read and share. It looks at every member of the report, not one slice.

When to use it
a new report just finished and you want one overview of topics to feed a content plan.
Watch out
for a single segment, the segment version gives a sharper picture than this broad one.
Audiense Insights2

Get Full Audience Insights

Action

In Make“Get the aggregated insights of all members of the full audience of the report”

Here you get the aggregated insights of every member of the report's full audience, a portrait of the whole group in one call. It answers the question of who these people are, before you look at what they read or who they follow.

When to use it
you want to archive the profile of a finished report in a sheet or a database.
Watch out
the result describes the full audience; segments need Get Segment Insights.
Audiense Insights3

Get Report Information

Action

In Make“Return Intelligence report and status: finished/failed and if finished it returns some metadata such as the details about the full audience and the segments.”

This module tells you if a report is finished or failed, and on a finished report it adds metadata about the full audience and its segments. It is the gatekeeper of most Audiense Insights scenarios.

When to use it
put it first in the scenario, so you read the status of the report before any other module asks for its data.
Watch out
a failed report returns no audience details, so plan what the scenario does in that case.
Audiense Insights4

Get Segment Content Insights

Action

In Make“Get the relevant content that the audience members are engaging with”

With this action you see the content one segment of the audience engages with, which makes it easier to write for a precise group rather than for everyone at once. The output is narrower than the full audience version, and usually more actionable.

When to use it
a campaign targets one segment and the copywriter needs to know what that group already reads.
Watch out
run it once per segment you care about.
Audiense Insights5

Get Segment Insights

Action

In Make“Get the aggregated insights of all members of an audience of a segment”

This action returns the aggregated insights of every member of one segment, so you can describe a sub group without reading the whole report again. Pair it with Get Report Information, which lists the segments of a finished report.

When to use it
sales or product teams want the profile of one segment sent to the tool they already use.
Watch out
pick the segment carefully, since each call covers only one.
Audiense Insights6

Make an API Call

Action

In Make“Performs an arbitrary authorized API call.”

When none of the listed modules covers what you need, this action calls any endpoint of the Audiense Insights API with the connection you already set up. It is the escape hatch of the integration, useful once you know the API well.

When to use it
the endpoint you need exists in the API but has no dedicated module in Make.
Watch out
you write the request yourself, so keep the Audiense Insights API documentation open next to Make.
Audiense Insights7

Get Full Audience Influencers

Search

In Make“Get the list of influencers of the full audience sorted by affinity”

This search lists the influencers of the full audience, sorted by affinity, which gives you the voices the whole group already listens to. Like every search in Make, it can return zero, one or many bundles, one per influencer.

When to use it
you need a broad partner list for a brand wide campaign.
Watch out
each influencer becomes its own bundle, so every module after it runs once per influencer and counts operations.
Audiense Insights8

Get Full Audience Most Unique Influencers

Search

In Make“Compare the influencers of the full audience audience with the influencers of a baseline and sort them by uniqueness.”

Instead of the most followed names, this search compares the full audience's influencers with a baseline and sorts them by uniqueness. You find the accounts that set this audience apart, not the ones everybody follows anyway.

When to use it
the affinity list is full of generic names and you want niche partners.
Watch out
the ranking depends on the baseline, so check which one the report uses before you share the result.
Audiense Insights9

Get Segment Influencers

Search

In Make“Get the list of influencers of a segment sorted by affinity”

Pick one segment and this search returns its influencers sorted by affinity, a ready shortlist for a targeted outreach. It is the most direct way to turn a segment into names your team can contact.

When to use it
a campaign aims at one segment and needs creators that group trusts.
Watch out
a search can return many bundles; add an aggregator if you want one message with the whole list rather than one message per influencer.
Audiense Insights10

Get Segment Most Unique Influencers

Search

In Make“Compare the influencers of the segment audience compared to the influencers of a baseline and sort them by uniqueness.”

This search sets the influencers of one segment against a baseline and ranks them by uniqueness, so the names that only this segment cares about come first. It is the precise tool for a niche audience.

When to use it
Get Segment Influencers returns the same big accounts for every segment and you need to tell segments apart.
Watch out
compare the result with the affinity list before you drop a well known name from a plan.

FAQ

Audiense Insights and Make: frequent questions

01Is the Audiense Insights Make integration free?
Yes on the Make side: Audiense Insights is a standard app, available from the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute and count usage in credits each month. Audiense Insights itself is another matter: the documentation requires active paid accounts on Audiense and Talkwalker.
02What do you need to connect Audiense Insights to Make?
You need an active paid account on both Audiense and Talkwalker, API keys for each platform, and an Audiense Insights account. In Make, add a module and click Create a connection. Your OAuth2 credentials sit in Audiense Insights under Settings, Project Settings, then Connected Accounts: copy the Client ID and the Client secret. If a callback URI is requested, use the address given in the Make documentation. The connection is created once and every Audiense Insights module reuses it.
03Can an Audiense Insights scenario start on its own?
Not from Audiense Insights, because the app has no trigger module. A scenario still starts in two ways. The first is scheduling: the clock on the first module runs the scenario at an interval, every 15 minutes by default on a new scenario, with 15 minutes as the minimum on the Free plan and 1 minute on paid plans. The second is to open the scenario on a trigger from another app, then add Get Report Information to check that the report is finished before the other modules run.
04What if an Audiense Insights module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It calls any endpoint of the Audiense Insights API with the connection you already have, so it covers what the 10 listed modules do not. You write the request yourself, which means reading the vendor's API documentation first. Keep in mind that the Make documentation for this app is AI-generated and may contain mistakes; when a detail matters, confirm it with Audiense Insights directly before you build on it.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Audiense Insights?
It depends on the tool your team already knows. On Make, Audiense Insights has 10 modules, 6 actions and 4 searches, plus Make an API Call for anything else, and the app is available from the Free plan. The same app often has an n8n node as well. Compare the modules each tool offers for the reports, segments and influencer lists you actually need, then build a small test scenario before you commit a whole workflow to one of them.
