What you can automate

What can the Feishu Drive Make integration do for you?

The Feishu Drive Make integration lets a Make scenario (the automation you build, a chain of modules) create folders, upload, copy, move and delete files, and search cloud documents in your Feishu Drive, with no code. Each module is one brick of that chain, and your account is linked once through a connection.

A client folder that builds itself. When a deal closes in your CRM or a form comes in, Create a Folder opens a folder for that client and Upload a File drops the first documents inside. Nobody has to remember the naming or the location.

Files that move to the right place. Pair Get a File Metadata with Move a File or Copy a File to read a file's details, then route it to an archive or share a copy with another team.

Documents ready before the meeting. Create a Cloud Document starts a document from data another app sends, and Search a Cloud Document finds the ones that already exist so you don't duplicate them.

Know the limits before you start. Feishu Drive has no trigger module, so a scenario starts from another app or from Make's schedule. Make's own documentation for this app is short, and it says so openly. When a listed module falls short, Make an API Call reaches other endpoints with the same connection. If you also weigh n8n, read our n8n vs Make comparison, and check Make pricing before you scale. For a guided start, the Make training walks through your first builds.

Connect

How do you connect Feishu Drive to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a Feishu Drive module

In your scenario, click the +, search for Feishu Drive and pick any module, for example Create a Folder. In the module panel, click Create a connection. The connection is your Feishu Drive account linked to Make once, then reused by every module of the app.

  2. 02

    Name the connection

Give the connection a name you will recognize later, such as the workspace or the team it belongs to. This step is optional, but it helps when several people or several accounts share the same Make organization.

  3. 03

    Authorize Make and save

Make opens the Feishu page where you approve access, or asks for the key Feishu gives you. Confirm, then click Save. Back in the module, Make can now list the folders and files your account can read.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Feishu Drive

GoalWhen another app hands over a new file, Make creates a folder in Feishu Drive and uploads the file into it.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. Since Feishu Drive has no trigger, pick the module of the app where files show up first, such as your form tool or your inbox.

  2. 02

    Add Create a Folder

Click the + on the right of that first module, search for Feishu Drive and choose Create a Folder. Select your connection, then map the folder name from the data the first module received.

  3. 03

    Add Upload a File

Add Upload a File after the folder module. Map the file coming from the first app, and point the destination to the folder that Create a Folder just returned, so each file lands in its own place.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once to execute the scenario a single time. Open the bubble above each module to read the bundles it received (a bundle is one item, here one file), then check Feishu Drive for the new folder.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

On the first module, open Scheduling: a new scenario runs every 15 minutes by default, and the Free plan cannot go below that. Adjust if needed, then switch the scenario on.

Modules

What each Feishu Drive module does

Feishu Drive gives you 12 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Feishu Drive1

Copy a File

ActionIn the docs only

You get a second version of a file in another place while the original stays exactly where it was. That suits a template you duplicate for each new project, or a report you share with a team without giving up your own version.

When to use it
a signed contract should stay in the sales folder and also reach the finance folder.
Watch out
two copies then live their own lives, so an edit to one does not reach the other.
Feishu Drive2

Create a Cloud Document

ActionIn the docs only

This one hands you a fresh Feishu cloud document, started by the scenario instead of by a person. Data from another app, like a client name or a ticket subject, can feed it, so the document is waiting before anyone opens it.

When to use it
a meeting gets booked and the team wants a notes document ready for it.
Watch out
run Search a Cloud Document first if the scenario might fire twice for the same event.
Feishu Drive3

Create a Folder

ActionIn the docs only

A new folder appears in your Feishu Drive, named from the data the scenario carries. It is usually the first Feishu Drive brick of a flow, because the modules after it can drop files straight into the folder it returns.

When to use it
a new client, project or hire needs its own space the moment it is recorded elsewhere.
Watch out
map a name that is unique per record, or folders with the same name will pile up.
Feishu Drive4

Delete a File or Folder

ActionIn the docs only

Clutter disappears without a manual cleanup: the module removes the file or folder you point it to. It pairs well with a filter placed before it, so only the items that match your rule ever reach it.

When to use it
a temporary export has been copied elsewhere and the original is no longer needed.
Watch out
test it with Run once on a throwaway file before you point it at real folders, since the scenario deletes without asking you first.
Feishu Drive5

Download a File

ActionIn the docs only

The file's content becomes available to the rest of your scenario, so another app can receive it as an attachment or a stored copy. It is the step to add whenever the next app needs the file's content rather than its location.

When to use it
a quote stored in Feishu Drive has to go out by email or land in another storage tool.
Watch out
on the Free plan Make handles files up to 5 MB, so large files can stop the run.
Feishu Drive6

Get a File

ActionIn the docs only

You retrieve one specific file so the next modules can work on it. Reach for it when you already know which file you want, for instance because an earlier module or another app gave you its identifier.

When to use it
a record in your CRM stores the Feishu Drive file linked to a deal, and the scenario needs that exact file.
Watch out
Make's documentation stays thin on what this module returns, so read its output after a first Run once.
Feishu Drive7

Get a File Metadata

ActionIn the docs only

Instead of the file itself, you get its details, which is enough to make a decision further down the scenario. Reading details is lighter than moving the full content around when all you need is to know what the file is.

When to use it
before Move a File, to route a document based on what its details tell you.
Watch out
the documentation does not list the returned details, so check them in the bundle before you build a filter on them.
Feishu Drive8

Get a Folder Metadata

ActionIn the docs only

The scenario learns about a folder before it acts on it. That check helps when a flow depends on a folder that someone may have renamed or reorganized since the scenario was built.

When to use it
ahead of an upload, to confirm the destination folder is the one you expect.
Watch out
like the file version, this module is barely documented by Make, so a Run once shows you what it actually returns.
Feishu Drive9

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Any endpoint of the Feishu Drive API becomes reachable from your scenario, with the connection you already set up. It is the way out when none of the eleven other modules covers what you need.

When to use it
you found an operation in the Feishu API reference that no listed module offers.
Watch out
you write the request yourself, so this module asks for more care than the others and is the least beginner friendly of the set.
Feishu Drive10

Move a File

ActionIn the docs only

A file changes folder without leaving a copy behind, which keeps your drive tidy as work moves forward. Think of it as the step that files a document once its status has changed somewhere else.

When to use it
an invoice gets paid in your accounting tool and its file should leave the pending folder for the archive.
Watch out
map the destination folder carefully, because the file leaves its old folder instead of being duplicated there.
Feishu Drive11

Search a Cloud Document

SearchIn the docs only

You find the cloud documents that already exist before creating or updating anything. As a search, it can return zero, one or several results, and each result travels to the next module as its own bundle.

When to use it
checking whether a client document is already there before Create a Cloud Document runs.
Watch out
several results mean the next modules run once per result, and each run counts as an operation on your plan.
Feishu Drive12

Upload a File

ActionIn the docs only

A file coming from another app lands in your Feishu Drive, ready for the team. Attachments, form uploads and generated exports all fit, as long as an earlier module passes the actual file along.

When to use it
a customer sends a document through a form and it belongs in their client folder.
Watch out
the Free plan caps files at 5 MB and total data transfer at 512 MB, so heavy uploads may need a paid plan.

FAQ

Feishu Drive and Make: common questions

01Is the Feishu Drive Make integration free?
Yes. Feishu Drive is a standard app in Make, so its modules work from the Free plan. That plan comes with limits worth knowing: 2 active scenarios, at least 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lift those limits, with runs as close as 1 minute apart and 40 minutes of execution. Usage is counted in operations, one per module run on one bundle.
02What do you need to connect Feishu Drive to Make?
A Feishu account with access to the drive you want to automate, and a Make account. Make's documentation lists no special prerequisite for this app and gives no dedicated connection steps, so the standard flow applies: add a Feishu Drive module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, approve access on the Feishu page or paste the key Feishu provides, then save. The connection is created once and every Feishu Drive module in your scenarios reuses it.
03Does the Feishu Drive Make integration react in real time?
No, because Feishu Drive has no trigger module in Make. A scenario that uses it has to start another way. The first option is a trigger from another app, such as a form tool or a CRM, with Feishu Drive modules placed after it. The second is Make's own schedule: a new scenario runs every 15 minutes by default, 15 minutes being the floor on the Free plan and 1 minute on paid plans. Either way, the Feishu Drive modules act as soon as the scenario reaches them.
04What if a Feishu Drive module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It calls any endpoint of the Feishu Drive API with the connection you already have, which covers operations the eleven other modules leave out. It does ask you to build the request yourself, so keep it for cases no listed module handles. Also note that Make describes its own documentation for this app as limited, so test each module with Run once and read what it returns before you rely on it in a live scenario.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Feishu Drive?
It depends on the tool your team already works in. Make gives Feishu Drive 12 ready modules, Make an API Call included, a visual editor and a Free plan to start on. n8n often offers a node for the same app, so check its catalog for Feishu Drive before you decide. Compare the actions each side covers for your use case, then pick the editor your team will actually maintain. A short test on each side, with your own files, remains the most reliable way to choose.
