What you can automate

What can the FillFaster Make integration do?

The FillFaster Make integration links your FillFaster account to Make, a no-code tool where you chain apps into a scenario (the automation you build). Once linked, Make can spot new form submissions, send submission links, produce PDFs and check where a submission stands, then pass the result to any other app you use.

Signed paperwork that files itself. Start with Watch New Form Submissions, add Get a Submission PDF, and send the file to your storage or your inbox app. Nobody has to download anything by hand when a client finishes a form.

A form link sent at the right moment. When a deal closes in your CRM or a row appears in a sheet, Create a Submission Link prepares a link for that person, and the next module mails it. Pair it with Get a Submission Status to see later whether the form came back.

Documents built from your own data. Generate a PDF turns data coming from another app into a document, ready to archive or share.

Be clear on the limits: the official documentation lists these modules with no descriptions, so what each one expects is something you confirm in the editor. Make an API Call covers what the listed modules leave out. If you are weighing tools, our n8n vs Make page lays out the differences, the Make pricing page explains plans, and Make troubleshooting helps when a run fails.

Connect

How do you connect FillFaster to Make?

  1. 01

    Copy your FillFaster API key

Log in to FillFaster, open the developer area from your dashboard and copy the API key shown there. Make needs this key to act on your account, so keep it somewhere safe while you set things up.

  2. 02

    Add a FillFaster module

In a Make scenario, add any FillFaster module and click Create a connection. A connection is your FillFaster account linked to Make once, then reused by every FillFaster module you add later.

  3. 03

    Paste the key and save

Give the connection a name in Connection name if you like (it helps when you manage several accounts), paste the API key you copied, and confirm. The module is now ready to use.

First scenario

Your first scenario with FillFaster

GoalWhen someone submits a FillFaster form, Make fetches the PDF of that submission so you can send it wherever you need it.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Go to the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the big + to add the first module. That first module is the one that starts everything.

  2. 02

    Add the trigger

Search for FillFaster, pick Watch New Form Submissions and link your account with Create a connection. Then fill the module fields; Make lists what it can read once the connection exists.

  3. 03

    Fetch the PDF

Click the + on the right of the trigger and add Get a Submission PDF. Map the submission coming from the trigger into it, so Make knows which PDF to fetch for each new bundle.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Submit a test form in FillFaster, then click Run once. Read the bundles each module received and check that the right submission came through.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

Open the clock on the first module to set the schedule (every 15 minutes by default) and switch the scenario on. From then on Make checks for new submissions by itself.

Triggers

What starts a FillFaster scenario

1 module starts a scenario when something happens in FillFaster. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by FillFaster as soon as it happens.

FillFaster1Watch New Form Submissions

Watch New Form Submissions

triggerIn the docs only

You get each new form submission as a bundle (one item passed from module to module), so the rest of your scenario can act on it without anyone checking FillFaster by hand.

How it fires
scheduled. Make checks the app on the scenario's schedule, so a submission shows up at the next check rather than instantly. On the Free plan the shortest gap between checks is 15 minutes; paid plans go down to 1 minute.
When to use it
whenever a completed form should lead to something else, such as filing its PDF or alerting the person in charge.
Watch out
the documentation gives no description of this module, so run it once on a test submission to see what it returns.
Modules

What FillFaster can do in Make

FillFaster gives you 5 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

FillFaster2

Generate a PDF

ActionIn the docs only

This action gives you a PDF produced by FillFaster from inside your scenario, going by its name. It fits when the data comes from elsewhere, say a CRM record or a spreadsheet row, rather than from a submitted form.

When to use it
when you need a document built on demand, not one tied to a submission that already exists.
Watch out
nothing in the documentation says which inputs it takes, so read the module fields and test with Run once.
FillFaster3

Get a Submission PDF

ActionIn the docs only

You receive the PDF of a submission that already exists, ready to hand to a storage or email module. Choose it over Generate a PDF whenever the form has been filled and you simply want its file.

When to use it
right after Watch New Form Submissions, to archive each completed form automatically.
Watch out
on the Free plan Make handles files up to 5 MB, so large PDFs may call for a paid plan.
FillFaster4

Get a Submission Status

ActionIn the docs only

As its name suggests, you learn where a given submission stands, which lets the scenario decide what comes next instead of you checking by hand. It pairs well with a link sent earlier through Create a Submission Link.

When to use it
to follow up only with the people who have not finished, or to move on once a form is done.
Watch out
the documentation lists no status values, so look at a real result with Run once before building filters on it.
FillFaster5

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

You reach any endpoint of the FillFaster API from your scenario, using the same connection as the other modules. It is the way out when none of the listed modules covers what you need.

When to use it
when your use case goes beyond submissions, links and PDFs, and the FillFaster API offers the call you are after.
Watch out
you write the request yourself, so keep the FillFaster API reference open while you set it up.

FAQ

FillFaster and Make: common questions

01Is the FillFaster Make integration free?
Yes, on the Make side. FillFaster is a standard app, so its modules are available from the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams, Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute and remove the cap on active scenarios. You still need your own active FillFaster account, whose price depends on FillFaster.
02What do you need to connect FillFaster to Make?
An active FillFaster account and its API key. You find the key in the developer area of your FillFaster dashboard and copy it from the screen. In Make, add any FillFaster module, click Create a connection, give the connection a name if you want, and paste the key. That connection is then reused by every FillFaster module in your scenarios, so you only do this setup once per account, even across many scenarios.
03Does the FillFaster trigger react in real time?
No. Watch New Form Submissions is a scheduled trigger: Make checks FillFaster on the scenario's schedule instead of being called the moment a form arrives. A new scenario checks every 15 minutes by default. On the Free plan 15 minutes is also the shortest interval, while paid plans can check every minute. If a short delay after each submission is acceptable, the scheduled trigger does the job well for most form workflows.
04What if a FillFaster module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. The FillFaster app includes this module, and it lets you call any endpoint of the FillFaster API from your scenario with the same connection as the other modules. It takes a bit more setup, since you build the request yourself from the FillFaster API reference. The official documentation also notes that its content is generated from FillFaster's own documentation, so confirm anything important with FillFaster directly.
05Should you use Make or n8n for FillFaster?
It depends on the tool your team already works in. This page covers Make, where FillFaster offers 1 trigger and 5 actions, including a module for calls the others do not cover. n8n often has a node for the same app, but this page does not confirm one for FillFaster, so check its catalog before choosing. The n8n vs Make comparison linked earlier on this page sets out how the two tools differ, without ranking them.
