What does the Innform Make integration actually do?

The Innform Make integration links your Innform account to Make, a no-code tool where you chain apps into a scenario, meaning an automation that runs by itself. Make can notice when an assignment is completed or overdue, and it can manage the users of your academy: invite them, update them, freeze them, look them up or delete them.

Every new hire gets their training access. When your HR tool or a signup form records a new employee, the Invite a User module sends them into Innform. Nobody has to copy names from one screen to another, and the invite leaves with the details your other app already holds.

Late learners get a nudge from the right place. Watch Overdue Assignments picks up assignments past their due date. Add Get a User to pull the learner's details, then send a message through your chat or email app, so managers hear about delays without opening Innform.

Departures are handled cleanly. When a contract ends in another system, Freeze a User or Delete a User can follow automatically. Freezing keeps the door open, since Unfreeze a user reverses it later.

What the listed modules do not cover can still be reached with Make an API Call, which uses the same connection. How do you connect Innform to Make?

    Find your API key in Innform

    Log in to Innform, open the Profile icon, then Account Settings and the Integrations tab. Your API key sits there. Copy it and keep it somewhere safe, because Make needs it in a moment.

    Add a connection in Make

    In your scenario, insert any Innform module and click Add next to the Connection field. A connection is your Innform account linked to Make once and reused by every Innform module you add later.

    Paste the key and save

    Type a label in Connection name, for example the name of your academy, then paste the key into the API Key field and click Save. Make now reads your Innform data.

    Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + to add the first module. Search for Innform and pick Watch Overdue Assignments.

    Click Add next to the connection field and paste your API key, as described above. The trigger is now ready to read your assignments.

    Add Get a User

    Click the + on the right of the trigger, choose Innform again, then Get a User. Map the learner from the overdue assignment into it so Make knows who to look up.

    Send the reminder

    Add a third module from your email or chat app and map the learner's details into the message. Each bundle, one overdue assignment, becomes one reminder.

01Is the Innform Make integration free?
Yes, Innform is a standard app in Make, so you can use it from the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) bring the interval down to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and count usage in operations each month. An operation is one module running on one bundle. Your Innform subscription is a separate matter.
02What do you need to connect Innform to Make?
You need an Innform account and its API key. In Innform, click the Profile icon, then Account Settings, then Integrations, and copy the key. In Make, add any Innform module, click Add next to the Connection field, give the connection a name, paste the key into API Key and click Save. The documentation lists no other prerequisite. The connection is created once and reused by every Innform module in your scenarios.
03Do the Innform triggers work in real time?
No. Both Innform triggers, Watch Completed Assignment and Watch Overdue Assignments, are scheduled. Make checks Innform on the scenario's schedule, which is every 15 minutes by default. On the Free plan that is also the shortest interval, while paid plans can go down to 1 minute. Each run collects what happened since the previous check. For reminders about late training or follow-ups after a course, that pace is usually enough, but it is not instant.
04What if the Innform module you need is missing?
It depends on the task. Innform has a Make an API Call module that calls any endpoint of the Innform API with the connection you already created, so anything the API offers stays within reach even without a dedicated module. You write the request yourself and check the result with Run once. The Make documentation gives no numeric limit for Innform, so no specific cap is known from that source. If the API does not offer what you need, another app in your scenario may cover that step.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Innform?
