What you can automate

What does the Lead Agent Make integration let you automate?

The Lead Agent Make integration links your Lead Agent account to Make, a visual tool where you chain apps together without writing code. You build a scenario, which is the automation itself: a row of modules, each one a single brick that watches, creates or sends something. Lead Agent brings 12 of those bricks.

Follow-up that never slips. A form tool or an event app collects a contact, Add a Lead puts that person into Lead Agent, and Create a Task reminds a salesperson to call. Nobody copies a name by hand.

Deals that show up in the pipeline. When a lead is worth money, Create an Opportunity records it so the sales team sees it next to the rest of its work. Pair it with Send a Text Email or Send a Text SMS for a first personal message.

A cleaner list. Blacklist a Lead, Trash a Lead and Untrash a Lead let another app tell Lead Agent who should no longer be contacted, or who came back by mistake.

Be clear about the limits: Make's own documentation for Lead Agent is thin, it gives no field list and no description of each module. Anything the listed modules do not cover goes through Make an API Call. The same app often has an n8n node too; the n8n vs Make comparison helps you pick, and the Make pricing page explains plans. If you would rather learn the editor properly first, see Make training.

Connect

How do you connect Lead Agent to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a Lead Agent module

In a scenario, click the +, type Lead Agent and pick any of its modules. Then click Create a connection. A connection is your Lead Agent account linked to Make once, and every Lead Agent module reuses it.

  2. 02

    Name the connection

This step is optional but handy. Give the connection a name that says whose account it is, for example the team or the client. When you run several accounts, you will pick the right one in a second instead of guessing.

  3. 03

    Authorize and save

Depending on what Lead Agent asks for, either approve Make on the Lead Agent page that opens, or paste the key Lead Agent gives you. Then click Save. The connection now appears in the module, ready to use.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Lead Agent and Make

GoalAt each scheduled check, Make looks at your Lead Agent lead groups and creates a task so someone follows up.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the big + to place your first module on the empty canvas.

  2. 02

    Place the trigger

Search for Lead Agent, choose Watch Lead Groups and pick the connection you made earlier. Make then lists what it can read from your account, so you select instead of typing.

  3. 03

    Add the task

Click the + on the right of the trigger and add Create a Task. Map data from the trigger into its fields so each task says which lead it concerns.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once. Make runs the scenario a single time and shows the bundles each module received; a bundle is one item passed along, here one lead. Check the task in Lead Agent.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

Click the clock on the first module. A new scenario checks every 15 minutes by default; the Free plan cannot go below 15, paid plans go down to 1 minute. Then switch the scenario on.

Triggers

What can start a Lead Agent scenario?

1 module starts a scenario when something happens in Lead Agent. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by Lead Agent as soon as it happens.

Lead Agent1Watch Lead Groups

Watch Lead Groups

triggerIn the docs only

This is the only Lead Agent module that can start a scenario on its own, so every flow that begins inside Lead Agent opens with it. As its name says, it keeps an eye on your lead groups and hands what it finds to the next module. Make's documentation lists the module without describing its output.

How it fires
scheduled: Make checks the app on the scenario's schedule. The type is read from the module name, since Make's directory was unavailable.
When to use it
you sort leads into groups and want the rest of your tools to react when a group changes, at the scenario's next check.
Watch out
run it once and read the bundles before building on it, so you know exactly what it returns.
Modules

What can Lead Agent do in a Make scenario?

Lead Agent gives you 11 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Lead Agent1

Add a Lead

ActionIn the docs only

Gets a new person into Lead Agent without anyone typing it, straight from whatever app collected the contact. It is the natural first action after a form, a signup or a spreadsheet row.

When to use it
a contact lands in another tool and should become a lead you can work on.
Watch out
run the scenario once with a test contact and check the lead in Lead Agent before switching it on.
Lead Agent2

Blacklist a Lead

ActionIn the docs only

Keeps someone off your outreach from now on, which protects your sender reputation and respects people who said no. Unlike trashing, the goal here is to remember the person rather than hide them.

When to use it
an unsubscribe or a complaint is logged in another tool and Lead Agent should hear about it.
Watch out
the documentation does not say how to reverse it, so test on a dummy lead first.
Lead Agent3

Create a Task

ActionIn the docs only

Turns an event into a to-do inside Lead Agent, so a follow-up has an owner instead of living in someone's head. Paired with the trigger, it is the simplest scenario on this page.

When to use it
a lead needs a human step next, such as a call or a check of their details.
Watch out
each bundle creates one task, so a trigger that returns ten items gives you ten tasks.
Lead Agent4

Create an Email Broadcast

ActionIn the docs only

Prepares a message aimed at many leads at once from Make, which saves you rebuilding the same campaign by hand. Choose it over Send a Text Email when the audience is a group rather than one person.

When to use it
content published elsewhere, like a new offer, should reach a whole segment.
Watch out
Make's documentation does not say whether the broadcast is sent or only drafted; check in Lead Agent after a test.
Lead Agent5

Create an Opportunity

ActionIn the docs only

Records a potential deal in Lead Agent the moment a signal appears elsewhere, so your pipeline reflects reality without a manual update. It moves a lead from contact to money on the table.

When to use it
a quote request, a demo booking or a reply in another app shows real buying intent.
Watch out
place a filter before it, otherwise every lead that passes becomes an opportunity.
Lead Agent6

Create an SMS Broadcast

ActionIn the docs only

Sets up a short text message for a group of leads from a scenario, useful when email is too slow for the news. It is the group counterpart of Send a Text SMS.

When to use it
a last-minute change to an event or an offer must reach many phones.
Watch out
a text lands on a personal device, so point it only at people who agreed to receive one, and test on your own number.
Lead Agent7

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Your safety net: it calls any endpoint of the Lead Agent API with the connection you already set up, so nothing is out of reach just because no ready-made module exists. It asks for more technical care than the other bricks.

When to use it
you need a read or an update that none of the 11 listed actions covers.
Watch out
you must know the endpoint from Lead Agent's own API reference, Make does not document it.
Lead Agent8

Send a Text Email

ActionIn the docs only

Sends a plain text email to one lead through Lead Agent, so a personal reply goes out without you opening your inbox. It suits personal notes better than campaigns.

When to use it
a lead does something in another app, like booking a slot, and deserves a quick personal reply.
Watch out
map the recipient from the previous module, never type a fixed address, or every run writes to the same person.
Lead Agent9

Send a Text SMS

ActionIn the docs only

Reaches a single lead on their phone straight from a scenario, handy for reminders that an inbox would bury. Pick it over Create an SMS Broadcast when the message is for one person.

When to use it
a meeting is confirmed in a calendar tool and the lead should get a short heads-up.
Watch out
every run sends a real text. Test with Run once on your own number.
Lead Agent10

Trash a Lead

ActionIn the docs only

Moves a lead out of your working list so your team stops wasting time on dead contacts. Since Untrash a Lead exists, the step can apparently be undone, which makes it softer than a hard delete.

When to use it
another tool marks a contact as a duplicate or as no longer relevant.
Watch out
add a filter before it; one wrong condition can clear out many good leads in a single run.
Lead Agent11

Untrash a Lead

ActionIn the docs only

Brings a lead back from the trash, which rescues contacts that were cleared too early. It is the mirror of Trash a Lead and mostly serves as a correction step.

When to use it
a trashed contact comes back to life, for instance by replying or filling in a new form.
Watch out
you need to identify the right lead first, usually with data mapped from an earlier module in the scenario.

FAQ

Lead Agent and Make: common questions

01Is the Lead Agent Make integration free?
Yes, Lead Agent is a standard app in Make, so you can use it on the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a scheduled run no more often than every 15 minutes, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Make counts usage in operations, one operation being one module run on one bundle. Paid plans lower the interval to 1 minute and remove the cap on active scenarios. Lead Agent's own subscription is a separate matter and is not covered here.
02What does it take to connect Lead Agent to Make?
You need a Lead Agent account and a Make account. Make's documentation lists no special prerequisite for this app. The connection follows the usual pattern: add any Lead Agent module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, then either approve Make on the Lead Agent page or paste the key Lead Agent provides, and save. Because Make says its documentation for Lead Agent is limited, keep admin access to your Lead Agent account close by in case the login asks for something unexpected.
03Does the Lead Agent trigger in Make react in real time?
No. Watch Lead Groups is a scheduled trigger: Make checks Lead Agent each time the scenario's schedule comes round, and a new scenario is set to every 15 minutes by default. On the Free plan the shortest interval is 15 minutes, on paid plans it is 1 minute. Note that Make's directory was unavailable for this app, so the scheduled type is read from the module name. There is no instant trigger in the list, meaning Lead Agent does not push events to Make on its own.
04What if a Lead Agent module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It reaches any endpoint of the Lead Agent API from your scenario, reusing the connection you already created, so you are not limited to the 11 listed actions. The catch is documentation: Make states that it cannot publish complete information on Lead Agent, and it gives no field list for the modules. You will need Lead Agent's own API reference to know which endpoint to call and what it expects, and a test with Run once before going live.
05Make or n8n: which fits Lead Agent better?
It depends on the tool your team already builds with. Make gives Lead Agent 12 ready modules, 1 trigger and 11 actions, plus Make an API Call for anything else, and works on the Free plan. The same app often has an n8n node too, so check that the actions you need exist there before choosing. There is no reason to pick one only for Lead Agent: pick the platform where the rest of your automations live, and the comparison page on this site walks through the criteria.
