What you can automate

What can the Q7Leader Make integration automate?

The Q7Leader Make integration links your Q7Leader account to Make, a no-code tool where you build a scenario: an automation made of modules, each one a brick that acts on one app. With it, data about members, departments, objectives and cycles moves between Q7Leader and your other tools without copy and paste.

Onboarding without retyping. When a hire is confirmed in your HR software or a form, Create a Member adds the person to Q7Leader, after List Members has checked they are not already there.

An org chart that stays current. List Departments and List Members send each item as a bundle, one element passed from module to module, straight into a spreadsheet the whole company can read.

Goals written once. Objectives validated in a shared document become records through Create an Objective, and later edits flow through Update an Objective.

What Make does not do here: Q7Leader has no trigger module, so a scenario starts from another app or from a schedule. The documentation is also limited, and it describes no fields; test each module with Run once before relying on it. For anything the listed modules miss, Make an API call reaches the Q7Leader API. If you are weighing tools, the n8n vs Make comparison sets out the criteria, and the Make training covers the editor from scratch.

Connect

How do you connect Q7Leader to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a Q7Leader module

Open your scenario, click the +, search for Q7Leader and pick any module, Get a Member for instance. The connection you create here, meaning your Q7Leader account linked to Make, serves all 41 modules afterward.

  2. 02

    Create the connection

Click Create a connection and give it a clear name if you plan to link more than one Q7Leader account. Depending on what the window asks, authorize Make on the Q7Leader page or paste the key Q7Leader gives you.

  3. 03

    Save and check

Click Save. Once the connection exists, Make can list the objects it reads from Q7Leader in the module fields, which is the quickest sign that the link works.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Q7Leader

GoalWhen a new hire is recorded in another app, Make adds that person to Q7Leader as a member.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

From the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + to add the first module: the trigger of the app where new hires are recorded.

  2. 02

    Add Create a Member

Click the + on the right of that first module, search for Q7Leader, choose Create a Member and select your connection. This action writes one member into Q7Leader for each bundle it receives.

  3. 03

    Map the data

Fill the module fields by mapping values from the first module. Once the connection exists, Make lists the Q7Leader objects it can read, so you pick rather than type.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once, then open the bundles each module received. Check in Q7Leader that the test member looks right before going further.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

Set the schedule on the first module, every 15 minutes by default, then switch the scenario on. From now on, each new hire reaches Q7Leader without manual entry.

Modules

What can Q7Leader do in Make?

Q7Leader gives you 41 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Q7Leader1

Create a Custom Field

ActionIn the docs only

Adds a new custom field to your Q7Leader account, so information that lives in another tool gets its own place in Q7Leader.

When to use it
A new piece of information needs tracking and you want the scenario to prepare its field before filling it.
Watch out
The documentation lists no field types, so open the module and read what Make offers before mapping anything.
Q7Leader2

Create a Cycle

ActionIn the docs only

Opens a new cycle in Q7Leader from a scenario, using values mapped from an earlier module instead of a form filled by hand.

When to use it
A new cycle is decided in a spreadsheet or a project tool and you want Q7Leader to follow without retyping it.
Watch out
The documentation is limited, so run the scenario once on a test cycle and check the result in Q7Leader.
Q7Leader3

Create a Department

ActionIn the docs only

Your department structure in Q7Leader can grow from another source: this module adds one department for each bundle it receives.

When to use it
A reorganization is recorded in another tool first and Q7Leader must mirror it.
Watch out
A list coming from a search module creates as many departments as it has items, so feed it only the ones you mean to add.
Q7Leader4

Create a Member

ActionIn the docs only

Brings a person into Q7Leader as a member, filled with data mapped from a previous module, such as a form answer or a spreadsheet row.

When to use it
A new hire is confirmed in another app and should appear in Q7Leader without anyone typing the record.
Watch out
Run List Members first when the same person may arrive twice, or you risk duplicates.
Q7Leader5

Create a RDP

ActionIn the docs only

Creates an RDP record in Q7Leader, the object the app names that way, from values mapped earlier in the scenario.

When to use it
Whatever should open an RDP happens in another tool and you want the record to follow on its own.
Watch out
The documentation says nothing about this object, so check the fields Make shows once the connection exists.
Q7Leader6

Create an Area of Activity

ActionIn the docs only

Registers a new area of activity in Q7Leader, so the list stays in step with the place where your team defines them.

When to use it
An area is approved in a shared sheet or a form and Q7Leader should receive it right after.
Watch out
Pair it with List Areas of Activity to skip names that already exist.
Q7Leader7

Create an Objective

ActionIn the docs only

Sets a new objective in Q7Leader from data another module passed along, which saves copying goals by hand between tools.

When to use it
Objectives are drafted and validated in a document or a form before they belong in Q7Leader.
Watch out
If Make asks for a related cycle or member, map its identifier from a Get or List module placed upstream.
Q7Leader8

Delete a Custom Field

ActionIn the docs only

Removes a custom field from Q7Leader for good, which keeps the account tidy when a piece of information stops mattering.

When to use it
A field has been retired in your source of truth and should disappear on the Q7Leader side too.
Watch out
A deletion does not come back, so test with Run once on a spare field first.
Q7Leader9

Delete a Cycle

ActionIn the docs only

Clears a cycle out of Q7Leader when it no longer has a reason to exist, driven by the scenario rather than a manual cleanup.

When to use it
A cycle was created by mistake or cancelled in the tool that plans it.
Watch out
Map the cycle identifier from Get a Cycle or List Cycles, never type it from memory, since nothing brings the cycle back.
Q7Leader10

Delete a Department

ActionIn the docs only

Takes a department out of Q7Leader when the source that describes your organization drops it.

When to use it
Two teams merge and the old department should vanish from Q7Leader in the same move.
Watch out
The documentation does not say what happens to the members attached to it, so try it on a test department before switching the scenario on.
Q7Leader11

Delete a Member

ActionIn the docs only

Withdraws a member from Q7Leader, useful when a departure is logged elsewhere and the account should reflect it without a reminder.

When to use it
An offboarding step is recorded in your HR software or in a form.
Watch out
Update a Member is the gentler choice if only some values change, because a deleted member is gone.
Q7Leader12

Delete a RDP

ActionIn the docs only

Removes one RDP from Q7Leader, identified by the value you map from an earlier module.

When to use it
An RDP was opened by error or cancelled in the source that created it, and keeping it would mislead the team.
Watch out
Make sure only the intended bundle reaches this module; a deletion cannot be reversed.
Q7Leader13

Delete an Area of Activity

ActionIn the docs only

Drops an area of activity from Q7Leader, keeping the list short and current.

When to use it
An activity is discontinued in the reference sheet your team maintains, and Q7Leader should follow.
Watch out
If List Areas of Activity feeds this module directly, every bundle it returns gets deleted, so think twice before chaining the two.
Q7Leader14

Delete an Objective

ActionIn the docs only

Erases an objective in Q7Leader, for goals abandoned or recorded twice.

When to use it
An objective is marked cancelled in the document where goals are discussed, and Q7Leader should be cleaned without a manual pass.
Watch out
Update an Objective is enough when only its content changes; this module leaves nothing behind.
Q7Leader15

Get a Campaign

ActionIn the docs only

Fetches one campaign from Q7Leader, so its details become data the next modules can map.

When to use it
You already hold the campaign identifier, from a previous module or from List Campaigns, and need its content for a message or a sheet.
Watch out
Q7Leader offers no module to create or edit campaigns in Make, only to read them.
Q7Leader16

Get a Custom Field

ActionIn the docs only

Reads a single custom field from Q7Leader and hands its details to the rest of the scenario.

When to use it
A later module needs to know how a field is set up before writing into it, or you want to confirm it exists.
Watch out
It expects one identifier; to find a field by browsing, start with List Custom Fields.
Q7Leader17

Get a Cycle

ActionIn the docs only

Pulls the details of one cycle out of Q7Leader, ready to be mapped into another app.

When to use it
A report or an objective refers to a cycle and you want its full information alongside.
Watch out
If the identifier is empty in the incoming bundle, the module has nothing to fetch, so check the mapping in the Run once results.
Q7Leader18

Get a Department

ActionIn the docs only

One department comes back from Q7Leader with the information the app stores about it, ready for the next module.

When to use it
A member record points to a department and the next step needs that department's details.
Watch out
For several departments at once, List Departments fits better than repeating this module.
Q7Leader19

Get a Member

ActionIn the docs only

Gives the scenario what Q7Leader holds about one member, so other tools can use it without a lookup by hand.

When to use it
An event elsewhere names a person and you want their Q7Leader data before acting.
Watch out
This module needs the member's identifier; when you do not have it yet, browse with List Members.
Q7Leader20

Get a Qprofile

ActionIn the docs only

Retrieves one Qprofile, the Q7Leader object of that name, and makes its content available to the following modules.

When to use it
A scenario needs the Qprofile data to decide what happens next.
Watch out
The documentation describes neither the Qprofile nor its contents, so read the bundle after Run once before mapping it.
Q7Leader21

Get a RDP

ActionIn the docs only

Opens one RDP from Q7Leader and exposes its content to the rest of the scenario.

When to use it
You need to copy an RDP's details into a document, a sheet or a message once you know which one.
Watch out
Each run of this module is one operation on your plan, a detail that adds up when many bundles reach it.
Q7Leader22

Get an Objective

ActionIn the docs only

Loads a single objective from Q7Leader so its details can travel to another tool.

When to use it
A review document or a dashboard sheet should show one objective in full.
Watch out
Map the identifier from Create an Objective or List Objectives rather than a fixed value, or the scenario keeps reading the same objective.
Q7Leader23

Get an Area of Activity

ActionIn the docs only

Looks up one area of activity in Q7Leader and returns its information as a bundle.

When to use it
A record elsewhere mentions an area and the scenario must read it before creating something related.
Watch out
The documentation is limited, so test with a real identifier in Run once and read what comes back.
Q7Leader24

List Areas of Activity

SearchIn the docs only

Brings back the areas of activity of your Q7Leader account, one bundle per area.

When to use it
You want the full list in a sheet, or need to compare it with another source before creating new areas.
Watch out
A search can return zero, one or many bundles, and every module after it then runs once per bundle.
Q7Leader25

List Campaigns

SearchIn the docs only

Lists the campaigns stored in Q7Leader, each arriving as its own bundle in the scenario.

When to use it
You need an overview of campaigns in a spreadsheet, or want to pick one before calling Get a Campaign.
Watch out
When the search finds nothing it returns zero bundles and the modules after it do not run, which is normal.
Q7Leader26

List Custom Fields

SearchIn the docs only

Collects the custom fields defined in Q7Leader, handy for spotting what already exists.

When to use it
Before Create a Custom Field, to avoid duplicates, or to document your setup in a shared sheet.
Watch out
Each field becomes a separate bundle, so plan how the next module handles several items.
Q7Leader27

List Cycles

SearchIn the docs only

Returns the cycles in Q7Leader as separate bundles, which lets the scenario work on each one in turn.

When to use it
You want to find the right cycle before Create an Objective, or keep a planning sheet aligned with Q7Leader.
Watch out
Every returned cycle counts toward the operations of the modules that follow.
Q7Leader28

List Departments

SearchIn the docs only

Retrieves every department Q7Leader knows, one bundle each, so the whole structure can travel to another tool.

When to use it
Rebuilding an org chart in a spreadsheet, or picking the right department before Create a Member.
Watch out
When you need one department and already have its identifier, Get a Department does the job with a single bundle.
Q7Leader29

List Members

SearchIn the docs only

Every member of your Q7Leader account enters the scenario through this search, one bundle per person.

When to use it
Checking whether someone already exists before Create a Member, or exporting the team to another tool.
Watch out
On a large team, many bundles mean many operations for the modules placed after this search.
Q7Leader30

List Objectives

SearchIn the docs only

Shows the objectives stored in Q7Leader as a stream of bundles the scenario can copy elsewhere, a sheet or a message for instance.

When to use it
A progress sheet or a message to managers should list the current objectives.
Watch out
Every objective returned runs the next modules once, so keep an eye on your operations.
Q7Leader31

List RDPs

SearchIn the docs only

All the RDPs recorded in Q7Leader come back through this search, each as its own bundle.

When to use it
You want a complete export of RDPs in a sheet, or need to find one before Update a RDP or Delete a RDP.
Watch out
The documentation gives no detail on this object, so run the search once and read the bundles before building on them.
Q7Leader32

List Roles

SearchIn the docs only

Reads the roles available in Q7Leader and passes them along one by one.

When to use it
A scenario about members may need a valid role to choose from, or you want the roles written down in a shared document.
Watch out
Q7Leader offers no module to create roles through Make, only this search.
Q7Leader33

List Users

SearchIn the docs only

Here the scenario reads the users of the Q7Leader account, one bundle per user.

When to use it
Reviewing the users in a sheet, or copying the list into another tool.
Watch out
Q7Leader has both List Users and List Members in Make and the documentation does not explain the difference, so compare their bundles after Run once.
Q7Leader34

Make an API call

ActionIn the docs only

Calls any endpoint of the Q7Leader API from your scenario, with the connection you already set up.

When to use it
None of the 40 other modules does what you need, for example an operation the Q7Leader API offers but Make does not list.
Watch out
You describe the request yourself here, so keep it for the gaps the listed modules leave.
Q7Leader35

Update a Custom Field

ActionIn the docs only

Changes an existing custom field in Q7Leader without recreating it, so the data already stored stays where it is.

When to use it
A field is renamed or adjusted in your reference tool and Q7Leader should match.
Watch out
Identify the field with List Custom Fields or Get a Custom Field first; updating the wrong one overwrites it without warning.
Q7Leader36

Update a Cycle

ActionIn the docs only

Edits a cycle already in Q7Leader, so changes made upstream reach it without manual work.

When to use it
The details of a cycle change in the tool where your team plans.
Watch out
The documentation does not say whether an empty mapped value clears the existing one, so test with Run once.
Q7Leader37

Update a Department

ActionIn the docs only

Refreshes a department's information in Q7Leader from the latest data another module provides, so both tools tell the same story.

When to use it
A department is renamed or reorganized in the spreadsheet or HR software your team treats as the source of truth.
Watch out
Run it once on a single department and compare before and after in Q7Leader.
Q7Leader38

Update a Member

ActionIn the docs only

Keeps a member's record in Q7Leader current by writing new values from another tool.

When to use it
Someone changes department or job in your HR software and Q7Leader should reflect it.
Watch out
It acts on one member per bundle; to update several, place List Members or a spreadsheet module before it.
Q7Leader39

Update a RDP

ActionIn the docs only

Modifies an existing RDP in Q7Leader with values mapped from earlier modules.

When to use it
The information behind an RDP changes in another app and the record must follow.
Watch out
The documentation describes neither the RDP nor its fields, so check in Q7Leader after the first Run once that the right values moved.
Q7Leader40

Update an Objective

ActionIn the docs only

Rewrites parts of an objective in Q7Leader, so wording or details decided elsewhere land there too.

When to use it
An objective is revised in a meeting document or a form and the change should reach Q7Leader.
Watch out
Pick the objective with Get an Objective or List Objectives first, then map only the values you mean to change.
Q7Leader41

Update an Area of Activity

ActionIn the docs only

Changes an area of activity that already exists in Q7Leader, so the list follows your reorganizations without a duplicate entry.

When to use it
The area is still there but its details changed in another app; for a brand-new area, Create an Area of Activity is the right pick.
Watch out
Place List Areas of Activity or Get an Area of Activity just before it, then click Run once to see which bundle reaches the update.

FAQ

Q7Leader and Make: frequent questions

01Is the Q7Leader Make integration free?
Yes, Q7Leader is a standard app, available from the Free plan of Make. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute, lift the cap on active scenarios and count usage in operations, one per module run on one bundle. Starting on Free is enough to test a first scenario before deciding on a paid plan.
02What do you need to connect Q7Leader to Make?
A Q7Leader account and a Make account are enough to start, since the documentation lists no other prerequisite. You add any Q7Leader module, click Create a connection, name it if you wish, then authorize Make on the Q7Leader page or paste the key the app gives you, and click Save. That single connection is reused by the 41 modules of the app, so the setup happens once per account and every new module you add simply picks it from the list.
03Does Q7Leader trigger scenarios in real time in Make?
No, because Q7Leader has no trigger module in Make, neither scheduled nor instant. A scenario that uses it therefore starts another way: from the trigger of another app, such as a form or HR tool, or from the schedule set on the first module, every 15 minutes by default and down to 1 minute on paid plans. The Q7Leader modules then run as actions or searches further down the chain, once for each bundle they receive.
04What if a Q7Leader module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API call. With this module, any endpoint of the Q7Leader API can be called from the scenario, using the same connection as the other 40 modules. Keep in mind that Make's documentation for Q7Leader is marked as limited and describes no fields, so test each call with Run once and read the bundle that comes back before mapping it into later modules. The same connection means no extra setup is needed.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Q7Leader?
It depends on the tool your team already runs. On Make, Q7Leader offers 41 ready modules, 31 actions and 10 searches, plus Make an API call for the rest. Many apps also have an n8n node, so check whether one exists for Q7Leader and compare the operations it covers with your needs. Pick the platform where your other scenarios already live, since a single place is easier to maintain. The comparison linked higher on this page lays out the other criteria.
