What does the Sage Business Cloud Accounting Make integration do?
The Sage Business Cloud Accounting Make integration links your Sage books to the other apps you use through scenarios: automations you build in Make as a chain of modules. A module is one brick, such as a trigger, an action or a search. Sage records travel between modules as bundles, one invoice or one customer at a time.
Invoices that follow the quote. Watch Sales Quotes spots a quote once it is saved or revised, then Create a Sales Invoice issues the bill. For a service business, that removes the retyping between the sale and the billing.
Supplier bills that reach the right person. Watch Purchase Invoices sends each new bill to whoever approves spending, and Update a Purchase Invoice writes the correction back into Sage when something was wrong.
A shop catalog that matches the books. Watch Products and Watch Stock Items push Sage changes to your store, while Update a Stock Item covers the opposite direction. Pick one reference per list, or two scenarios will keep echoing each other.
What the integration does not do: all 8 triggers are scheduled and none is instant, so Make checks Sage every 15 minutes by default instead of reacting the second a record changes. The Make documentation for this app is also flagged as AI-generated from Sage material, so verify important details with Sage. For anything the 49 modules miss, Make an API Call reaches the rest of the Sage API.
Weighing another tool? The n8n vs Make comparison sets the two side by side. To get comfortable with the editor, Make training starts from the basics, and Make pricing helps you size a plan.
How do you connect Sage Business Cloud Accounting to Make?
- 01
Register an app in Sage
Make signs in to Sage with OAuth2 credentials, which come from a developer application in your Sage account. Click Create App, name it, paste
https://www.integromat.com/oauth/cb/sage-accountingas the callback URI and click Save. - 02
Copy the two keys
Sage then displays a Client ID and a Client secret. Copy both right away and keep them somewhere safe: Make asks for them in the next step, and they are what lets it act on your Sage account.
- 03
Create the connection in Make
Add any Sage Business Cloud Accounting module to a scenario and click Create a connection. Fill Connection name if you like, then enter the two keys or follow the on-screen instructions.
Your first scenario: invoice each new order in Sage
GoalWhen a new order arrives in your shop app, Make finds the customer in Sage and creates the sales invoice.
- 01
Start the scenario
On the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. Pick the trigger of the app where your orders land, such as your shop, and connect it.
- 02
Find the customer
Click the + on the right, search for Sage Business Cloud Accounting and choose Search Customers. Create the connection, then map the customer details from the order.
- 03
Add the invoice
Add Create a Sales Invoice after the search. Map the customer Sage found and the order details into the fields Make displays once the connection works.
- 04
Test with Run once
Click Run once and read the bundles each module received. The test creates a real invoice, so use a test order you can cancel with Void a Sales Invoice.
- 05
Schedule and switch on
Open the clock on the first module. A new scenario runs every 15 minutes by default, the shortest interval on the Free plan. Adjust it, then switch the scenario on.
What can start a Sage scenario?
8 modules start a scenario when something happens in Sage Business Cloud Accounting. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by Sage Business Cloud Accounting as soon as it happens.
Watch Contact Payments
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new or updated contact payments.”
Start a scenario whenever a contact payment is recorded or edited in Sage, and receive that payment as a bundle ready to map into the next module. It is the entry point for anything that should react to money booked against a contact.
Watch Customers
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new customers.”
Pick up every customer added to Sage and hand the new contact to the rest of your scenario, so your other tools learn about the account without anyone retyping it.
Watch Products
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new or updated products.”
Get the details of any product added or edited in Sage, passed along as a bundle for the modules that follow. Your catalog elsewhere can then stay in line with the list your accountant keeps.
Watch Purchase Invoices
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new or updated purchase invoices.”
Catch supplier bills once they are entered or modified in Sage and send each one down your scenario, one bundle per bill.
Watch Sales Invoice
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new or updated sales invoices.”
Follow the invoices you issue: every new or modified sales invoice in Sage becomes a bundle your scenario can work with, from a thank-you email to a revenue dashboard.
Watch Sales Quotes
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new or updated sales quotes.”
Let a scenario react when a quote is drafted or revised in Sage, with the whole quote handed to the next module.
Watch Services
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new or updated services.”
Keep an eye on the services you bill, such as consulting hours or repairs, and forward each new or edited one to the next module.
Watch Stock Items
Scheduled triggerIn Make“Watches for new or updated stock items.”
Follow stock items as they are created or changed in Sage, so your shop or warehouse app sees the same stock records as the accountant.
