What you can automate

What can the Tiime Expert Make integration do for you?

The Tiime Expert Make integration links your Tiime account to Make so that client files, contacts and accounting entries can move between Tiime and your other apps on their own. You build a scenario, which is the automation itself: a chain of modules, each one a single brick that acts on one app.

Entries posted from another tool. When a sales or expense app produces data, the module Envoi d'écritures comptables dans Tiime Expert sends the accounting entries, with their attachments, straight into the right client file. Nobody copies lines from one screen to another.

New clients set up once. A signed engagement in your CRM can trigger Création de dossier, then Création de contact on that new file, so the Tiime side of onboarding follows the commercial side.

Exports and reference data on demand. Récupération d'un fichier type FEC pulls an FEC-style file, while the search modules read a file's fiscal years, journals and chart of accounts, useful before you post anything.

Know the limits before you start. Tiime Expert has no trigger in Make, so a scenario never starts from an event inside Tiime: it starts from another app or from a schedule. The documentation lists the modules without grouping them and gives no figure on volumes. If you also look at n8n, the n8n vs Make comparison sets the two tools side by side, and the Make training covers the editor from the first module.

Connect

How do you connect Tiime Expert to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a Tiime Expert module

Open your scenario, click the +, search for Tiime Expert and pick any of its modules. In the module panel, click Create a connection. A connection is your Tiime account linked to Make once, then reused by every Tiime Expert module.

  2. 02

    Name the connection

The Connection name field is optional. A clear name still helps when your firm uses several Tiime logins, for example one per team, because every module then shows which account it acts on.

  3. 03

    Save and sign in

Click Save, then type the address and password of your Tiime account in the Email and Password fields to authenticate. Once accepted, Make can read your client files and offer them in the module fields.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Tiime Expert

GoalWhen another app hands Make a batch of accounting data, Make finds the matching client file and posts the entries in Tiime Expert.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

On the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. Pick the app that holds your source data as the first module, since Tiime Expert has no trigger of its own.

  2. 02

    Find the client file

Click the + on the right, search for Tiime Expert and choose Récupération des dossiers. Create the connection if this is your first Tiime module, then spot, among the files it returns, the one that matches the data.

  3. 03

    Post the entries

Add Envoi d'écritures comptables dans Tiime Expert after the search. Map the file it returned and the lines coming from the first module into the fields Make displays. Each item passed along is a bundle.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once. Make runs the scenario a single time and shows the bundles each module received, so you can check in Tiime that the entries reached the right file.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

Open the clock on the first module to set Scheduling, every 15 minutes by default, then switch the scenario on. Each module run on one bundle counts as one operation on your plan.

Modules

The 10 Tiime Expert modules in Make

Tiime Expert gives you 10 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Tiime Expert1

Création de contact

Action

In Make“Créer un contact sur un dossier”

Adds a contact to an existing client file in Tiime Expert, so the people behind a company are recorded where your accountants work.

When to use it
right after a file is created, or when your CRM gains a new decision maker for a client you already manage.
Watch out
the contact is attached to one file, so place a search for that file before this module.
Tiime Expert2

Création de dossier

Action

In Make“Créer un dossier comptable”

Opens a new accounting file in Tiime Expert, which gives a freshly signed client a home in the firm's workspace without manual setup.

When to use it
when an engagement letter is signed in another tool and you want the Tiime file to exist the same day.
Watch out
run a search on your files first if the same client may come through twice, to avoid a duplicate file.
Tiime Expert3

[Déprécié] Récupération du détail d’une connexion

Action

In Make“Récupérer le détail d’une connexion.”

Returns the details of a connection. Make flags this module as deprecated, which means it stays visible for older scenarios but is no longer the recommended path.

When to use it
only to keep an existing scenario running while you plan its replacement.
Watch out
do not build a new scenario on it, since a deprecated module can stop being offered.
Tiime Expert4

Envoi d'écritures comptables dans Tiime Expert

Action

In Make“Envoyer des écritures comptables et des pièces jointes dans Tiime Expert”

Sends accounting entries and their attachments into Tiime Expert, so bookkeeping data produced elsewhere shows up in the client file with its supporting documents.

When to use it
when invoices, receipts or bank lines already exist in another app and you want them booked without retyping.
Watch out
check the journals and chart of accounts of the file first, with the search modules, so each entry points to accounts that exist.
Tiime Expert5

Récupération d'un fichier type FEC

Action

In Make“Récupérer un fichier type FEC”

Fetches an FEC-style file from Tiime Expert, the standard listing of a company's accounting entries, and hands it to the next module of your scenario.

When to use it
when a client, an auditor or another tool asks for the export and you would rather send it from a scenario than download it by hand.
Watch out
the next module receives a file, so pick a destination able to store one.
Tiime Expert6

Requête API Tiime

Action

In Make“Requêter directement l'API de Tiime”

Queries the Tiime API directly, through the connection you already set up. It covers what the nine other modules do not offer.

When to use it
when the operation you need has no dedicated module and you know which API call Tiime expects.
Watch out
the documentation says nothing more about this module, so test it with Run once on a test file before touching real client data.
Tiime Expert7

Récupération des dossiers

Search

In Make“Récupérer ses dossiers comptables”

Lists the accounting files your Tiime account can see. As a search, it can return none, one or many files, each as its own bundle.

When to use it
as the first Tiime step in most scenarios, to find the file that the following modules will act on.
Watch out
several files can match, and every module placed after it then runs once for each of them.
Tiime Expert8

Récupération des exercices comptables d'un dossier

Search

In Make“Récupérer les exercices comptables d'un dossier”

Reads the fiscal years of one client file, which tells your scenario which periods exist before it books or exports anything.

When to use it
ahead of posting entries or pulling an FEC-style file, when the target period depends on the date of the incoming data.
Watch out
it needs a file to read from, so place Récupération des dossiers before it.
Tiime Expert9

Récupération des journaux d'un dossier

Search

In Make“Récupérer les journaux d'un dossier”

Returns the journals set up in a client file, such as the ones used for purchases, sales or bank, so your entries can be routed to the correct one.

When to use it
when entries from several sources feed the same file and each source belongs in a different journal.
Watch out
journals differ from one file to another, so read them per file instead of reusing a list.
Tiime Expert10

Récupération du plan comptable d'un dossier

Search

In Make“Récupérer le plan comptable d'un dossier”

Brings back the chart of accounts of one client file, the reference your scenario needs to pick valid account numbers.

When to use it
before sending entries built by another app, to check that the accounts they use really exist in that file.
Watch out
a chart can be long, so filter the returned bundles rather than passing every account down the scenario.

FAQ

Tiime Expert and Make: frequent questions

01Is the Tiime Expert Make integration free?
Yes, Tiime Expert is a standard app in Make, so it works from the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and allow 40 minutes of execution. Usage is counted in operations each month. Your Tiime subscription is a separate matter.
02What do you need to connect Tiime Expert to Make?
A Tiime account and its login details. In any Tiime Expert module, click Create a connection, give it a name if you like, click Save, then enter the email and password of your Tiime account to authenticate. The documentation lists no other prerequisite. The connection is then reused by every Tiime Expert module in your scenarios, so you only do this once per account. Use a login that can see the client files you plan to work on.
03Does Tiime Expert have a trigger in Make?
No. All 10 modules are actions or searches, so nothing inside Tiime Expert can start a scenario. You start it in one of two ways: put a module from another app first, such as the tool where invoices or new clients appear, or let the first module run on the scenario's schedule, every 15 minutes by default and never more often than every 15 minutes on the Free plan. The Tiime modules then run as soon as the scenario reaches them.
04What if a Tiime Expert module is missing in Make?
It depends on what you need. Tiime Expert has no generic Make an API Call module, but it has its own Requête API Tiime module, which queries the Tiime API directly through your connection. The documentation gives no detail on how to fill it, so test it on a test file first. If that still does not cover your case, another app in your stack may hold the data, or the team can look at the setup with you.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Tiime Expert?
It depends on the tool your team already uses. In Make, Tiime Expert offers 10 ready modules for client files, contacts, entries and FEC-style exports, and connects with a simple email and password. Many apps also have an n8n node, so check whether one exists for Tiime before you choose. Base the decision on the modules you need and on where your other automations already live, since maintaining one tool is easier than two.
