What the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud Zapier integration does for a service provider
It links your Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud account to Zapier so that something happening in Acronis (an alert, a new tenant, a new user) starts a Zap. A Zap is the automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that event shows up. It also works the other way, with Acronis receiving tenants and users built from other tools.
A new client goes live without a checklist. When sales closes a deal and the tenant is created, New Customer Tenant Created picks it up and Enable Offering Items switches on the service the client bought. Nobody has to remember the second half of the onboarding.
A trial becomes a paying account on cue. A form in your billing tool marks a prospect as signed, and Switch Customer Tenant to Production flips the matching trial tenant into production mode.
A help desk ticket for every new alert. New/Updated Alert feeds your ticketing app, so the technician on duty sees the alert where the rest of the queue lives, and can later close it with Dismiss Alert.
What Zapier does not do here: there is no instant trigger, so every trigger waits for the next scheduled check. There is no search step either, which means a Zap cannot look up an existing tenant or user by itself. And nothing in the list deletes a tenant or a user, or edits one after creation. If those gaps decide the project, the n8n vs Zapier comparison is worth a read before you build.
Zapier words, in one minute
Seven terms come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier sits and waits for that event to happen.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that creates, sends or changes something in an app for you.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap finished without failing; your plan counts those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer. It asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only unseen ones.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens. Acronis has none on Zapier today.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the data meets a condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Acronis account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that talks to Acronis.
What it really costs to run
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works on the free plan.
- Premium appNo, free plan works
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Trigger checksNever billed
The trigger never costs a task, and neither do the checks Zapier runs to look for new alerts or tenants. You pay one task per action that goes through; an action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only: one trigger, one action. Add a second action or a filter and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. Your Zaps are unlimited in number on every plan.
Connect Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your app connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need an Acronis account first, with rights on any tenant you do not own but want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud
Type the app name in the dialog, select Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud from the results, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the Acronis side.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Acronis in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. The connection then shows up in your list and every future Acronis step can reuse it without asking again.
Your first Zap: switch on services for every new tenant
GoalEach new customer tenant created in Acronis gets its offering item enabled, but only for tenants whose name matches your managed-client convention.
- 01
Build: choose the trigger
Create a Zap, pick Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud as the app and New Customer Tenant Created as the event, then select the connection you added earlier.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent tenants of the account, so you map the next steps on a real one rather than on guesswork.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter and set the tenant name, a text rule and your prefix. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is required.
- 04
Add the action
Add Acronis again with Enable Offering Items. Fill Customer name from the trigger and type the API name of the offering item to switch on.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and check the tenant in Acronis. If the item is on, click Publish to switch the Zap on for every tenant created from now.
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud triggers

When the Acronis Zap breaks
Zapier lists no help article for this app, so the traps below are the general ones that hit Acronis Zaps hardest.
Most failures come from timing and loops, not from the connection itself. If a Zap still misbehaves after these checks, the Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the editor's run history.
Old tenants never show up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Tenants, users and alerts that existed before are not picked up, and moving them is a separate job.A tenant Zap that feeds itself
Create Customer Tenant inside a Zap triggered by New Customer Tenant Created starts the Zap again and again, and the task count drains fast.A bulk import goes quiet
When a migration creates many users at once, the trigger returns a huge batch and Zapier's flood protection can hold it back. The same alert twice
Zapier remembers what a polling trigger already saw, so a new alert never fires twice. An updated alert, though, is a new event and can.
