AddToWallet Zapier integrationAutomate AddToWallet with Zapier.

The AddToWallet Zapier integration comes with 1 action, 1 search and 0 triggers. The action builds a digital pass that opens in both Apple and Google Wallet; the search picks an existing pass. Something else always starts the Zap, since AddToWallet has nothing to report on its own.

Overview

What the AddToWallet Zapier integration does for you

It turns a record from another app into a pass your customer can keep on the phone. AddToWallet is a platform for Apple and Google Wallet passes (coupons, loyalty cards, memberships), and in Zapier it acts on demand: another app sends the details, AddToWallet produces the pass and hands back its link.

Three results come out of it. A membership card on sign-up: a yoga studio sends each new form entry to Create Digital Wallet Pass, with the member's name as the card title and the membership dates as the start and end values. A coupon for every new subscriber: a newsletter tool feeds the same action, and a chat or email step after it delivers the link. One design reused everywhere: Select a Pass fetches the list of passes already set up in AddToWallet so a Zap can work with the one you picked instead of starting from a blank.

What Zapier does not do here: AddToWallet has no trigger, so a pass being saved, scanned or deleted never starts a Zap. The listing has no action to update or remove a pass after it exists, and no find-or-create shortcut. The pass link also goes nowhere by itself; a later step has to send it to the customer.

Since this flow usually grows past two steps, weigh the platforms in n8n vs Zapier before you commit.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

These words come back on every line below. Each gets one plain explanation.

Zap
An automation you build in Zapier: one event kicks it off, then one or more steps run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts a Zap, such as a new form entry. AddToWallet has none, so another app always fills this slot.
Action
A step that does something once the Zap is running. Creating a wallet pass is the only AddToWallet action.
Task
The unit on your Zapier bill: one action that completes successfully. Plans are sized in tasks per month.
Polling vs instant
Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer. An instant trigger is pushed by the app itself the moment the event occurs.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your rule, say only paid memberships.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists in an app so later steps can use it. Select a Pass is one.
Cost

What an AddToWallet Zap costs in tasks

Two numbers decide it: how many steps your Zap has, and how many passes actually get created.

  • TriggerNever billed
  • Each pass created1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two steps per Zap
  • Premium appNo

The trigger from your form or shop never costs a task, however often Zapier checks it. Each pass that AddToWallet creates successfully counts as one task, and a failed attempt is not billed. AddToWallet is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps. The limit is the two-step cap. A form plus Create Digital Wallet Pass fits. Add a step that emails the link, a filter, or the Select a Pass search, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan.

Connect

Connect AddToWallet to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Start from the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. You need an AddToWallet account first, with access to the passes you want the Zap to work with.

  2. 02

    Pick AddToWallet

Search for AddToWallet in the dialog that appears, select it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens so you can sign in on the AddToWallet side.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to AddToWallet in that tab and let Zapier use the account. The pass designs stored in that account are the ones Select a Pass can offer later, so sign in with the account that owns them.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a membership pass for every sign-up

GoalA new form entry becomes a wallet pass, and the team hears about it in a chat channel.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick the form

Start a new Zap with the form app as the trigger, since AddToWallet cannot start one. Choose the sign-up form whose entries should become passes.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier pulls the three most recent entries, so you map the name and dates from a real sign-up instead of guessing at field names.

  3. 03

    Add Create Digital Wallet Pass

Choose AddToWallet and the Create Digital Wallet Pass action. Map the member name to the card title and fill the logo, hero image, colors and labels.

  4. 04

Add the message step and test

Add the chat step, drop in the pass link from the previous step, then test each step once and read what came back before going further.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish. With three steps, this Zap needs a paid plan. Only sign-ups that arrive after publishing get a pass; earlier entries are left alone.

Actions

The AddToWallet action in Zapier

AddToWallet gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Digital Wallet Pass

Action

In Zapier“Creates a digital Pass and get the dynamic pass link compatible with both apple and google”

This builds a new digital pass from the values you map, and gives back a link that works in both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, ready to pass to a message step.

When to use it
a loyalty card, coupon or membership that should land on the customer's phone right after they sign up or buy.
Watch out
all ten listed fields are mandatory, from the card title to the end label value, so an empty column on the source side stops the step.
Searches

The AddToWallet search in Zapier

1 search step looks for data that already exists in AddToWallet, so a later step can use it.

A search step looks up something that already exists and passes it to the next steps. In the action list, searches sit at the bottom under their own SEARCH heading. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not a clean single match.

1

Select a Pass

Search

In Zapier“Fetches a list of passes and allows users to configure a pass for future use.”

It fetches the passes already set up in your AddToWallet account and lets you settle on one, so a Zap can keep working with that pass later.

When to use it
several campaigns run off the same coupon or loyalty design, and you want the Zap to target that design rather than a new one.
Watch out
the pass ID is required, and adding this search makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and the steps after it are skipped. Switch it on and the Zap goes on with nothing in hand.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
This box turns a search into find-or-create. Select a Pass does not offer it, so a missing pass cannot be created from the search itself.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
When several items match, the Zap keeps the first one by default; it can also stop, or hand on all the matches together.
When it breaks

When an AddToWallet Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to AddToWallet, so these are the general failure modes, seen through a pass-issuing Zap.

The four cases below are not AddToWallet bugs: they come from the app in front of it. They weigh more here, because a pass that went out by mistake already sits in a customer's wallet. For anything not listed, see Zapier troubleshooting.

  • Existing members get no pass

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. People who signed up before publishing never receive a pass from it; that backlog is a separate job.
  • The Zap triggers itself

If a later step writes the pass link back into the very sheet or form the trigger watches, each write can restart the Zap and drain your tasks quickly.
  • A bulk import is held back

Load a large list of customers at once and Zapier's flood protection can hold the trigger back rather than create every pass in one burst.
  • No double passes from polling

On a polling trigger Zapier remembers what it already processed, so the same entry does not create a second pass on the next check.

FAQ

AddToWallet Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the AddToWallet Zapier integration free?
On the Zapier side, it can be. AddToWallet is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is that the free plan stops at two steps: one trigger and one action. A form entry that creates a pass fits. As soon as you add a step to send the pass link, a filter, or the Select a Pass search, the Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan. Whatever your AddToWallet account costs is separate and not covered here.
02How many tasks does creating a wallet pass use?
One task for each pass created successfully. The trigger that brings in the customer data costs nothing, however often Zapier checks it, and a failed pass creation is not counted. Each further action that succeeds counts on its own, so a Zap that creates the pass and then emails the link uses two tasks per customer. The Select a Pass search adds a step too. Some apps and actions take more than one task, so check the task history after your first live run to see the real figure.
03Does AddToWallet run in real time in Zapier?
Partly. AddToWallet has no trigger, so the wait never comes from it: the pass is built as soon as the Zap reaches that step. The delay a customer feels comes from the app in front. If that app reports a sign-up instantly, the pass link can follow straight away. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier only looks every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 minutes on Professional and every minute on Team and Enterprise, so a customer at the counter may wait for the next check. A lightning bolt in the editor marks instant triggers.
04What does it take to connect AddToWallet to Zapier?
An AddToWallet account and a Zapier account. In Zapier, open Apps, click + Add connection, search for AddToWallet, then sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. That one connection serves every Zap afterwards. The real preparation is the pass design: Create Digital Wallet Pass requires a logo URL, a hero image, a header, a hex background color, an Apple font color, a card title and two labels with their values. Have those ready, or the first test will stop on a missing field.
05Can a Zap update or delete an AddToWallet pass?
Not from the Zapier listing as it stands. AddToWallet offers one action, which creates a pass, and one search, Select a Pass, which picks an existing pass from your account. Nothing updates a pass after it exists, nothing removes one, and AddToWallet has no trigger to tell Zapier when a customer saves or uses a pass. If your process needs those moves, they happen in AddToWallet itself, outside the Zap. Plan the Zap around issuing passes, which is the part Zapier actually covers.
06What if the AddToWallet operation you need is not in Zapier?
Then the Zapier editor will not offer it: one action and one search are the whole catalog. Two routes remain. Rework the flow with what exists, for instance issuing a fresh pass rather than editing an old one, and leaving the follow-up message to another app's action. Or keep that move inside AddToWallet itself and use the Zap only for issuing. Before switching platforms over a missing step, check that the alternative really reaches AddToWallet beyond these two operations.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for AddToWallet?
Pick by criterion, not by a ranking. Zapier gives you the create action and the pass search ready to use, which suits a team that wants passes going out without writing code. A useful AddToWallet Zap usually has three steps or more (trigger, pass, message), so compare how each platform prices multi-step workflows. If you need operations the Zapier listing lacks, such as updating a pass, compare which tool reaches AddToWallet beyond the create action and the search. Decide which of those matters most, then choose.
