What the Agency Razz Zapier integration actually does
Agency Razz is where insurance agents collect and track client applications. Linking it to Zapier means one thing: each time a client sends a new submission, a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier, made of one trigger and one or more actions) starts and carries that submission somewhere else, without anyone copying it by hand.
Three results people usually build from that single event. A running log: New Submission adds a line to a spreadsheet the agency principal reviews, so nobody has to copy applications over by hand. A heads-up for the producer: the same trigger posts a short message in the team chat, so the agent who owns the lead sees it while the client is still reachable. A follow-up task: a project tool gets a to-do for the new application, and the account manager works from that list instead of from an inbox.
Now the limits, because they shape everything. On Zapier, Agency Razz only speaks; it never listens. There is no action to create, update or close anything inside Agency Razz, and no search to look up an existing application. Every Zap built here starts in Agency Razz and ends in another tool. If your plan was to push quotes or statuses back into Agency Razz, Zapier cannot do it with what the app exposes today.
Before choosing a platform, the Make vs Zapier comparison is the next read: it weighs the two tools side by side, which matters here because an app with a single trigger leaves little to automate on either.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- An automation on Zapier: one event that starts it, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts a Zap. Here it is New Submission in Agency Razz; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: it writes, sends or moves something in another app on your behalf.
- Task
- What Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. Your plan's monthly allowance counts these, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer. An instant trigger is pushed by the app the moment the event happens. Agency Razz is instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Agency Razz account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that needs it, without signing in again.
What it really costs
Agency Razz is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan.
- Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps
- Free plan steps1 trigger + 1 action
- Premium appNo
- New SubmissionInstant, the grid below does not apply
The trigger never costs a task, and Zapier listening for submissions costs nothing either. Only a completed action is billed: one submission sent to one sheet is one task, sent to three tools is three. A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month but only two-step Zaps; adding a filter or a second action makes it a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. Same submission, same trigger: only the number of actions behind it changes the bill.
Connect Agency Razz to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
From your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box; type Agency Razz and pick it from the list of results.
- 02
Sign in to Agency Razz
Click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on Agency Razz: sign in with the account that receives the submissions you want to automate, not a personal test account.
- 03
Grant access
Approve the access request in that tab. The connection then shows up in your Apps list, and every future Zap using Agency Razz can pick it without asking you to log in again.
Your first Zap: log every submission and ping the producer
GoalEach new Agency Razz submission becomes a row in a Google Sheets log, and only the ones that pass a filter alert the producer in Slack.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap, choose Agency Razz as the app that starts it and New Submission as the event. Pick the connection you added earlier.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent submissions of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real application instead of a blank one.
- 03
Add the sheet
Add Google Sheets as the first action and map the submission details into the row. On the free plan, stop here: one trigger plus one action is the whole Zap.
- 04
Filter, then alert
On a paid plan, add a Filter from the plus icon, set the field, the rule and the value, then add the Slack message after it. Pick a text rule for text fields, or it never passes.
- 05
Test and publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When every step looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, it fires on each new submission.
Agency Razz triggers on Zapier
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Agency Razz, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Submission
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when there is a new submission.”
Fires each time a client sends a new application through Agency Razz, and hands that submission to the next step of your Zap. It is the only door between Agency Razz and the rest of your tools on Zapier, so every workflow on this page starts here.
When the Agency Razz Zap breaks
Zapier publishes no help article specific to Agency Razz. The failures below are the general ones, and they all apply here.
Most problems show up in the first week, when the Zap meets real volume or an old habit. Read these four before you publish, and check the Zapier troubleshooting guide when a run turns red.
Old applications never arrive
A Zap only sees submissions created after it was switched on. Anything already in Agency Razz stays there; moving the history is a separate job.A bulk import gets held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a migration for example, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of running the Zap on every item. The Zap feeds itself
If a later step writes into the place the trigger watches, the Zap sets itself off again and again and burns through your task count fast. The filter never lets anything through
Filter rules are typed. A text rule on a number, or the reverse, never passes, so the Slack step stays silent while the sheet keeps filling.
