Overview

What the Agenthost.ai Zapier integration actually does

Agenthost.ai is a marketplace where people find, build and earn money from AI agents. Hooking it to Zapier lets your agents talk to the rest of your tools without you copying anything by hand. Two events in Agenthost.ai can start an automation, and one step can hand a message to an agent and wait for what it says back.

Three results people usually build with it. A support inbox that answers itself: a form or a helpdesk ticket lands elsewhere, Send Agent Message passes the question to your agent, and the Zap waits for its response before going on. A log of every conversation: New Message spots each message an agent receives, so a sales team can drop them into a spreadsheet or a chat channel and review them together. A launch checklist for each new agent: New Agent notices the agent you just created, and the Zap can ping the people who need to test it.

What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. There is no search step for this app, so a Zap cannot look up an existing agent or an old message. There is no way to edit or delete an agent from a Zap either: the only thing it can write is a message. And both triggers are checked on a timer, never instantly, so a reply always arrives with some delay on the free plan.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven words come back all over this page. Here they are in plain English, once.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for it to happen.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action that your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer for new items. An instant one is reported by the app the moment it happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Connection
Your Agenthost.ai account, linked to Zapier once and then reused by every step that talks to that app.
Cost

What it really costs

Agenthost.ai is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only some steps produce them.

  • Premium appNo, usable on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
  • Trigger checksFree, never billed
  • BilledEach successful action, once

The trigger never costs a task, however often Zapier checks for new agents or messages. Each action that goes through counts once; an action that fails is not counted. A Zap with three actions spends three times what a one-action Zap spends. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and you have a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.

Connect

Connect your Agenthost.ai account

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need an Agenthost.ai account first, plus access to any agent that is not yours and that the Zap should touch.

  2. 02

    Pick Agenthost.ai

Type Agenthost.ai in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab then opens on the Agenthost.ai side, ready for the sign-in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to Agenthost.ai in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection then shows up in your list, and every Zap that uses this app reuses it.

First Zap

Your first Zap: email the team when an agent gets a pricing question

GoalEach message an agent receives is checked, and only the ones about pricing go out by email to the sales lead.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap, pick Agenthost.ai as the app that starts it and New Message as the event, then choose the connection you made above.

  2. 02

    Point it at one agent

Paste the agent handle of the assistant you want to watch. Each Zap follows one agent, so a second agent means a second Zap.

  3. 03

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent messages of that agent, so you map the next steps on a real one rather than a blank.

  4. 04

Add the filter and the email

Add a filter that lets through only messages mentioning pricing, then a Gmail step that sends the text to your sales lead. The filter makes this a paid-plan Zap.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Test each step once and read what came back. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Only new messages from that point will run it.

Triggers

Agenthost.ai triggers

2 events start a Zap when something happens in Agenthost.ai. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Agent

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new agent is created by the user.”

Starts your Zap each time you create an agent on your Agenthost.ai account. The fresh agent becomes the starting point for whatever follows, such as warning a reviewer or logging it in a catalog.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
you publish agents regularly and want someone to test each one before customers find it in the marketplace.
Watch out
it reacts to agents created by your own user, and nothing created before the Zap was switched on will ever show up.
2

New Message

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when the agent recieves a new message.”

Wakes up whenever one of your agents receives a message. You get the conversation flowing out of Agenthost.ai and into the tools where your team already works, without anyone opening the agent dashboard.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a product manager wants every question users ask the onboarding agent copied into a spreadsheet to spot the recurring ones.
Watch out
the Agent Handle field is required, so the trigger watches one agent only, and you need that handle from the Agent Details screen.
Actions

Agenthost.ai action

Agenthost.ai gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Send Agent Message

Action

In Zapier“Sends the specified agent a message and waits for it's response”

Hands a question to the agent you name and holds the Zap until that agent responds. That makes it the one way to put your agents to work from other apps.

When to use it
a new support form arrives and you want the agent to draft a first answer before a human looks at it.
Watch out
both the message and the agent handle are required, so map both from an earlier step or type them in before you test.
When it breaks

When the Zap breaks

Zapier publishes no help article for this app and no limit of its own. What breaks is what breaks on every Zap, with a twist specific to agents that answer messages.

Four cases cover most of the trouble. Read them before you publish, and keep the Zapier troubleshooting guide open if a run goes wrong anyway.

  • The agent talks to itself

A Zap that starts on New Message and sends a message to the same agent sets itself off again and again, and drains your monthly tasks fast.
  • Old conversations never arrive

A Zap only sees what happens after you switch it on. Messages and agents that already existed stay where they are; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A burst gets held back

If a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
  • No duplicates, by design

Zapier remembers what it already saw on a polling trigger, so the same message never starts the Zap twice, even if the check runs again.

FAQ

Agenthost.ai Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the Agenthost.ai Zapier integration free?
Yes, it runs on the free plan, because Zapier does not class Agenthost.ai as a premium app. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like. The catch is size: each free Zap is two steps, one trigger and one action. A Zap that watches new messages, filters them and then sends an email has three steps, so it needs a paid plan. Start with a two-step version if you want to try the app before paying anything.
02How many tasks does an Agenthost.ai Zap use?
One task per action that completes, and nothing for the trigger. Zapier can check for new agents or messages as often as your plan allows without spending a single task. Each successful run of Send Agent Message counts one. If your Zap has two actions after the trigger, a single message costs two tasks. An action that fails is not billed, so a broken run does not eat into your monthly count, but it still needs fixing.
03Does Agenthost.ai trigger Zaps in real time?
No. Both triggers, New Agent and New Message, are polling triggers: Zapier asks Agenthost.ai for new items at a fixed interval. On the free plan that check happens every 15 minutes, on Professional every 2 minutes, and on Team or Enterprise every minute. Paid plans also let you change the interval or run a check by hand from the editor. The type is set by the app itself, so no setting can make these triggers instant.
04What does it take to connect Agenthost.ai to Zapier?
An Agenthost.ai account, and access to any agent you do not own but want the Zap to use. From the Apps page of Zapier, click + Add connection, pick Agenthost.ai, sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. Have the agent handle at hand too: New Message and Send Agent Message both require it. It sits in your workspace under Agent, then Agent Details, then Handle. Copy it once and keep it in a note.
05Why does a Zap keep sending messages to the same agent?
Because it is looping. If the Zap starts on New Message for an agent and then uses Send Agent Message on that same agent, every message it sends can count as a new message and start the Zap again. Each round costs a task, and the monthly count drains quickly. Point the action at a different agent than the one the trigger watches, and the loop stops. Before you publish, test the action once and read what came back, so you see which agent it actually wrote to.
06What if the Agenthost.ai operation you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do it with this app today. The integration has two triggers and one action, with no search and no way to edit or delete an agent. Check the operation list in the editor before you give up. For anything outside that list, another automation tool may fit better, or the gap can be covered by a different app in the same Zap, before or after the Agenthost.ai step.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Agenthost.ai?
It depends on your criteria, not on a winner. Agenthost.ai works on the Zapier free plan, but both triggers poll and multi-step Zaps need a paid plan. Make and n8n are separate tools with their own pricing and their own way of counting runs. Compare on price per run, the delay you can accept and who maintains the flow. On Zapier, a filter or a second action already makes a multi-step Zap, so price the Zap you really need, not the two-step version.
