Anakin Zapier integrationAutomate Anakin with Zapier.

The Anakin Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger and 21 actions. The trigger watches website monitors for changes; the actions pull data from pages, crawl sites, run AI searches and drive Wire actions. Here is what each does, and what it costs you.

Overview

What the Anakin Zapier integration is for

Anakin reads websites for you: it pulls data out of pages, watches them for changes and runs AI-powered searches. Zapier connects that to the rest of your tools, so a change on a page you care about can set off a chain of steps without you opening a browser.

A watch list that reports back. Create Monitor puts a page under watch, and New Monitor Change brings each detected change into your Zap, with an AI summary when the monitor's AI Mode is on.

Clean data from messy pages. Extract Website Data turns one URL into HTML, markdown and generated JSON; Crawl Site and Map Site do the same job at the scale of a whole domain.

Answers from the web and from AI engines. Perform AI Search answers a question with citations, and Search AI Visibility asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overview the same question to see how each one talks about your brand.

What Zapier does not do here: there is no search step, so nothing looks up an existing monitor for you; you fetch it with List Monitors, which is an action and costs a task. The only trigger is a monitor change, so a crawl or an agentic search never starts a Zap on its own when it finishes.

The same app can also be wired through the Anakin Make integration, and the Make vs Zapier comparison lays out how the two bill and build.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Six words come back all over this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. With Anakin there is one: a monitor spots a change on a page you watch.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that extracts, searches, creates or changes something for you.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully; your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer set by your plan. An instant one is reported by the app straight away.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Cost

What an Anakin Zap really costs

Anakin is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. On the Zapier side you pay in tasks.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Steps on the free plan2 (one trigger, one action)
  • Premium appNo, Anakin works on every plan
  • Anakin trigger1 polling, 0 instant

The trigger costs nothing, and Zapier checking for new changes does not either, however often it looks. Each action that succeeds counts as a task, so a Zap with three actions uses three times more than a one-action Zap. Failed actions are not counted. The free plan stops at two steps; a filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, and that needs a paid plan. New Monitor Change is a polling trigger, so the grid below sets how fast your Zap hears about a change. Anakin also bills its own credits for some actions; that bill is separate from Zapier's.

Connect

Connect your Anakin account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Anakin account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that calls it.

  2. 02

    Pick Anakin

Type Anakin in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. Zapier opens a new tab so you can sign in to your Anakin account there.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Sign in, then allow Zapier to use the account. If your Zaps will rely on monitors, sessions or Wire identities set up by a colleague, the account you connect needs access to them as well.

First Zap

Your first Zap: watch a competitor's pricing page

GoalWhen the pricing page changes and the summary mentions prices, the Zap pulls the new page.

  1. 01

    Set up the monitor

Run Create Monitor once on the pricing page, with AI Mode on so each change comes with a summary. The interval is in minutes, 15 at the very least.

  2. 02

    Build the trigger

In the Zap editor, click Build, pick Anakin and New Monitor Change, then choose your monitor in Monitor ID. No lightning bolt here: the trigger is polled, on your plan's interval.

  3. 03

    Test it

Click Test. Zapier brings back the three most recent changes of that monitor, so the next steps are set up on a real one. No change yet means nothing to pick.

  4. 04

    Filter and extract

Add a Filter on the change summary with a text rule, then Extract Website Data on the same URL. The filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Publish

Test each step, read what came back, then click Publish. Every change that passes the filter costs one task for the extraction, plus the credits Anakin charges on its side.

Triggers

The Anakin trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Anakin. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Monitor Change

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a website monitor detects a change - a diff/summary of what changed since the previous check (with the AI change summary when the monitor's AI Mode is on). Create the monitor first with the Create Monitor action, then find its ID with List Monitors.”

Brings each change spotted by one of your Anakin monitors into Zapier: a diff or summary of what moved since the previous check, plus an AI summary when the monitor runs in AI Mode. How often the page itself gets checked is a setting of the monitor, chosen in Create Monitor.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
a product marketer who wants every edit on three rivals' pricing pages posted where the team will read it.
Watch out
it needs a Monitor ID, so the monitor must exist before you build the Zap.
Actions

The 21 Anakin actions

Anakin gives you 21 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Browse Wire Catalog

Action

In Zapier“With no catalog slug, lists every supported Wire website and its action count. Pass a slug (e.g. "walmart", "amazon", "linkedin") to get that site's full action list with exact parameter schemas, each action's type (read/write), auth mode, and credit cost.”

Without a slug, lists every supported Wire website and how many actions each has; with a slug, details that site's actions.

When to use it
exploring what is possible on a marketplace before you build anything on it.
Watch out
each action listed shows its own credit cost; read it before running it at scale.
2

Control Monitor

Action

In Zapier“Controls an existing website monitor: "pause" stops scheduled checks, "resume" restarts them (may hit the plan's active-monitor cap), "run_now" triggers an immediate out-of-schedule check (billed like a normal check), and "delete" permanently removes the monitor and its history.”

Pauses, resumes, runs right now or deletes an existing monitor, depending on what you pick in Action.

When to use it
pausing the watch on a campaign page once the campaign ends in your project tool.
Watch out
delete removes the monitor and its history for good, and resume can hit your plan's cap on active monitors.
3

Crawl Site

Action

In Zapier“Bulk-fetches markdown/HTML across a site. Use for catalog ingestion or building a site-wide RAG corpus. Pair with include/exclude patterns to scope which URLs are fetched.”

Fetches markdown or HTML across a whole site from a starting URL, with include and exclude patterns to keep it to the sections you want.

When to use it
loading a supplier's full catalog into the knowledge base your support assistant reads.
Watch out
sites built in JavaScript may need Use Browser to render each page.
4

Create Monitor

Action

In Zapier“Creates a scheduled website monitor that checks a URL every N minutes (minimum 15) and records a change when the content differs - optionally alerting a webhook or email. Scope "page" (default) watches one URL; "site" crawls the site each run; "wire" runs a Wire action each check and diffs its JSON.”

Puts a URL under scheduled watch and records a change each time the content differs. The scope can be one page, a whole site, or a Wire action whose result is compared run after run.

When to use it
a new competitor appears in your CRM, and their homepage goes under watch the same minute.
Watch out
the interval is in minutes, 15 minimum, and AI Mode costs one extra Anakin credit per check.
5

Delete Session

Action

In Zapier“Permanently deletes a saved browser session and its encrypted login data. Irreversible - you must log in again through the Anakin dashboard to recreate it, and any monitors or requests referencing this Session ID will lose authenticated access. Find IDs with List Sessions.”

Removes a saved browser session and its encrypted login data for good.

When to use it
cutting access when a contractor's account on a partner site is closed.
Watch out
it cannot be undone, and every monitor or request using that Session ID loses its logged-in access.
6

Discover Wire Actions

Action

In Zapier“Finds Wire actions for a task from a natural-language intent. Wire is a catalog of pre-built automation actions across hundreds of websites (Amazon, Walmart, LinkedIn, Airbnb, Zillow, and others). Returns ranked candidate actions with their action_id, type (read/write), required/optional params, credit cost, and whether auth is needed.”

Finds ready-made Wire actions from a plain-language intent and ranks them, with type, parameters, credit cost and whether a login is needed. Wire is Anakin's catalog of prebuilt actions for many websites.

When to use it
you know the job, not the action ID.
Watch out
Query is required.
7

Extract Website Data

Action

In Zapier“Extracts structured data from any website including HTML, markdown, and generated JSON.”

Pulls structured data out of any page you give it, as HTML, markdown and generated JSON.

When to use it
grabbing the new version of a page right after a monitor flags a change on it.
Watch out
results can come from a cache; switch on Force Fresh when you need the page as it is right now.
8

Get Agentic Search Results

Action

In Zapier“Fetches current status and results for an agentic search job. Returns immediately with current state (processing, completed, or failed).”

Checks an agentic search job and returns its state (processing, completed or failed) with the results so far.

When to use it
a later step, or a second Zap started by another app, that passes the Job ID of the job launched earlier.
Watch out
it answers right away, so a job still processing comes back unfinished.
9

List AI Visibility Sources

Action

In Zapier“Lists the AI answer engines available to AI Visibility Search (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overview) - each with its slug (what you pass as Sources) and display label. Call this when you need to query a subset of engines or check what is currently enabled.”

Returns the AI answer engines that Search AI Visibility can query, each with its slug and label.

When to use it
before limiting a visibility check to a couple of engines.
Watch out
the slug, not the label, is what Search AI Visibility expects in Sources.
10

List Monitors

Action

In Zapier“Lists your website monitors, or pass a Monitor ID to fetch one monitor's full configuration and status (next/last check time, active state, per-check credit cost, alert settings). Use this to find a monitor's id before using Control Monitor or checking its changes.”

Returns your monitors, or the full setup and status of one when you give it a Monitor ID: next and last check, active state, credit cost per check, alerts.

When to use it
finding the ID you need for Control Monitor or for the trigger.
Watch out
as an action, it costs a task each time it runs.
11

List Sessions

Action

In Zapier“Lists your saved browser sessions - encrypted login states captured via the Anakin dashboard or Browser API. Each session's id is what you pass as Session ID to Extract Website Data, Crawl Site, Create Monitor, or Run Browser Task to work with login-protected pages. Optionally filter by website domain.”

Shows the saved browser sessions, the encrypted login states captured in Anakin, optionally filtered by domain.

When to use it
finding the Session ID that lets an extraction, crawl, monitor or browser task reach a members-only page.
Watch out
sessions are created in the Anakin dashboard, not from Zapier.
12

List Wire Identities

Action

In Zapier“Lists your saved Wire identities and their credentials. An identity is a named account on a site; each credential's id is the Credential ID you pass to Run Wire Read/Write Action for actions whose auth_mode is "required". Optionally filter by catalog.”

Returns your saved Wire identities, meaning named accounts on a site, with their credentials, optionally filtered by catalog.

When to use it
picking the right Credential ID when your team keeps several accounts on the same marketplace.
Watch out
only actions that require a login need a Credential ID at all.
13

Map Site

Action

In Zapier“Discovers all reachable URLs under a given site. Useful for understanding a domain's structure before crawling, or finding sub-pages to scrape.”

Lists every reachable URL under a site, without fetching their content. Subdomains and external links can be included on request.

When to use it
scoping a crawl before you spend credits on it.
Watch out
external links are collected, never followed, so the map stops at the site's borders.
14

Request a New Wire Action

Action

In Zapier“Requests a brand-new Wire action for a website that isn't in the catalog yet. Describe the site and what the action should do or extract; Wire generates and auto-tests a scraper, then publishes it. Asynchronous on Anakin's side (returns status "pending") and charges credits, refunded automatically if the build fails. Only use this after Discover Wire Actions / Browse Wire Catalog confirm no existing action covers the site.”

Asks Anakin to build a new Wire action for a site that the catalog does not cover yet, from a Goal you describe.

When to use it
after Discover Wire Actions and Browse Wire Catalog both came back empty.
Watch out
the build runs later on Anakin's side and charges credits, refunded if it fails.
15

Run Browser Task

Action

In Zapier“Runs a natural-language task in a real cloud browser driven by an AI agent: it navigates, clicks, types, scrolls, and extracts on your behalf. Use when Extract Website Data can't do the job (multi-step flows, interactions, complex navigation) and no Wire action covers the site. For login-protected tasks pass a Session ID from List Sessions - never put passwords in the prompt. Supply an Output Schema to get structured JSON back.”

Hands a plain-language task to an AI agent driving a real cloud browser: it clicks, types, scrolls and extracts on your behalf.

When to use it
a multi-step flow, like filtering a search form, that Extract Website Data cannot handle and no Wire action covers.
Watch out
never put a password in the Prompt; use a Session ID from List Sessions for logged-in pages.
16

Run Wire Read Action

Action

In Zapier“Runs a Wire READ action - one that extracts data without changing state on the target site (search listings, fetch product data, read a profile, pull dashboard metrics). Discover action_ids with Discover Wire Actions or Browse Wire Catalog first. Transparently polls until complete when the action is asynchronous.”

Runs a Wire action that reads without changing anything on the target site: listings, product data, a profile, dashboard figures.

When to use it
pulling search results from a marketplace into a sheet your buyers review.
Watch out
confirm the Action ID is of type read; the Zap waits on its own when the action is asynchronous.
17

Run Wire Write Action

Action

In Zapier“Runs a Wire WRITE action - one that performs a state-changing interaction on the target site (submit a form, add an item to a cart, post content, update account settings). Discover action_ids with Discover Wire Actions or Browse Wire Catalog first. Most write actions need auth - pass a Credential ID. Does not execute payments or transfer funds; such actions are refused by the API.”

The write side of Wire: this action changes something on the target site, such as submitting a form or posting content.

When to use it
publishing the same listing update on a site that has a write action in the catalog.
Watch out
most need a Credential ID, and payments or money transfers are refused.
19

Search AI Visibility

Action

In Zapier“Asks multiple AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overview) the same question and compares their answers. Returns one result per engine plus an AI-generated synthesis of where the engines agree and diverge. Use for brand/AI-SEO visibility checks. A "failed" run still returns the sources that did answer, plus per-source errors.”

Puts the same question to several AI answer engines and returns each answer plus a synthesis of where they agree and differ.

When to use it
checking how ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overview describe your brand on a key question.
Watch out
the Query is capped at 2000 characters, and a failed run still returns the engines that answered.
21

Sign in to a Wire Site

Action

In Zapier“Signs in to a credentials-mode Wire site and returns a credential_id usable immediately with Run Wire Read/Write Action. Provide the catalog slug and login params (the fields that catalog's login schema defines, e.g. email/password - see Browse Wire Catalog's login_input_schema). The password is never stored, only the encrypted session. Only needed for actions whose auth_mode is "required" and for catalogs that support password sign-in.”

Logs in to a Wire site that supports password sign-in and returns a Credential ID ready for the run actions. The password is never stored, only the encrypted session.

When to use it
a Wire action whose auth mode is required.
Watch out
Catalog Slug is required, and not every catalog supports password sign-in.
When it breaks

When an Anakin Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Anakin, so these cases are the general Zapier ones, read through what this app does.

Most surprises come from a Zap doing exactly what it was told, at a moment nobody expected. Read these four before you publish, and keep the Zapier troubleshooting guide nearby.

  • Past changes never show up

A Zap only reacts to changes detected after you publish it. Earlier diffs stay in Anakin; Zapier will not replay them.
  • The same change does not fire twice

Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so a change that was already picked up will not start the Zap again on a later check.
  • A loop on your own monitor

If the Zap calls Control Monitor with run_now on the monitor that triggers it, every change can lead to a new check and a new run. Tasks and credits drain fast.
  • A burst after a site-wide change

A site-scope monitor on a redesigned site can report a large batch at once, and Zapier's flood protection may hold the trigger back.

FAQ

Anakin Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the Anakin Zapier integration free?
On the Zapier side, yes for two-step Zaps. Anakin is not a premium app, so the free plan can use it, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The free plan builds one trigger and one action only; a filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step and requires a paid plan. Keep in mind that Anakin has its own credit system: several actions show a credit cost, and AI Mode on a monitor adds one credit per check. Those credits are billed by Anakin, not by Zapier.
02How many tasks does an Anakin Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. A Zap built on New Monitor Change with Extract Website Data behind it uses one task per change. Add Perform AI Search after it and every change now costs two. Zapier polling the monitor costs nothing, however often it checks, and a failed action is not counted. Watch helper actions like List Monitors or List Sessions: they look like lookups, but here they are actions, so each run counts as a task.
03Does the Anakin trigger work in real time?
No. New Monitor Change is a polling trigger: Zapier asks Anakin for new changes at a fixed interval set by your plan, 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional and 1 on Team and Enterprise. For the trigger itself, paid plans can shorten Zapier's side and also let you run a check by hand from the editor. How often Anakin checks the page itself is a separate setting, the Interval chosen in Create Monitor. In the editor, an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt; this one does not, which is the quickest way to tell. Zapier also keeps track of the changes it has already seen, so the same change never starts the Zap twice.
04What does it take to connect Anakin to Zapier?
An Anakin account you can sign in to, plus access to anything the Zap should touch that you do not own yourself. From the Apps page of your Zapier account, click + Add connection, search for Anakin, click Add connection, sign in in the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is made once and reused by every Zap. For the trigger, you also need at least one monitor, since New Monitor Change asks for its Monitor ID.
05Why can't the trigger find any monitor?
Because the trigger needs the ID of a monitor that already exists in your Anakin account. Create one first with the Create Monitor action, then use List Monitors to read its ID. If the monitor exists but the test brings nothing back, it simply has not recorded a change yet; Zapier needs a real change to show you. Check that the monitor is active, since a paused monitor stops its scheduled checks and so stops producing changes.
06What if the Anakin action you need does not exist?
Then the integration will not do it, and it is better to know before you build. Anakin on Zapier offers 21 actions around monitors, extraction, crawling, AI search and Wire, and no search step at all. If the gap is a website Wire does not cover yet, Request a New Wire Action is the built-in way out: you describe the goal, Anakin builds the action, and the credits come back if the build fails. For anything else, the honest choice is a manual step or another tool.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Anakin?
It comes down to criteria, not a winner. Billing first: on Zapier each successful action is a task, and Anakin adds its own credits on top, so count both. Timing next: the single Anakin trigger is polled, so your plan sets how fast a change reaches the Zap. Then coverage: check that the actions your flow needs exist on each tool for this app. Last, maintenance: a team that prefers menus to code settles faster on the editor it already uses.
