Overview

What the Digital Influencers Zapier integration does for you

The Digital Influencers Zapier integration ties the AI calling agents you run on Digital Influencers to the rest of your tools. A finished call, or a decision the agent takes mid-call, can start a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier). Any other app can also hand Digital Influencers a contact to store or a number to dial.

Three outcomes cover most of what people build with it. First, a call log nobody types: New Call fires when a conversation ends, and the next step writes it into your CRM or a spreadsheet. Second, an alert before the call is over: Agent Trigger fires the moment the agent decides something, so your team can react while the prospect is still on the line. Third, an agent that calls back on its own: a form, a booking or a new row feeds Add or Update Contact, then Make a Call has the agent dial that person.

Now the limits, because they matter as much. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an existing Digital Influencers contact before acting on it. The only way to touch an existing record is Add or Update Contact, which matches on the phone number. Nothing here edits an agent, ends a call or pulls old call history either: the four operations are all there is.

Comparing tools? The Digital Influencers Make integration covers the same app on Make, and the Make vs Zapier comparison sets the two platforms side by side. If Zapier itself is new to you, the Zapier review is a good place to start.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Eight terms, each used on this page without a reminder once it has been explained here.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier simply waits for that event to occur.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Connection
Your Digital Influencers account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that works with that app.
Cost

What a Digital Influencers Zap really costs

Digital Influencers is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill depends on actions, never on calls received.

  • Trigger0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
  • Premium appNo

The trigger costs nothing, however many of your calls end in a day. Each action that succeeds counts as one task, and a failed one is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month but only two-step Zaps: Make a Call after Add or Update Contact, or any filter, already needs a paid plan. The interval grid below only concerns polling triggers; both triggers here are instant, so it does not apply to them.

Connect

Connect Digital Influencers to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need an existing Digital Influencers account first; Zapier links to it, it does not create one.

  2. 02

    Pick Digital Influencers

Type the app's name in the search dialog, select Digital Influencers in the results, then click Add connection. That button starts the sign-in for this one account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Digital Influencers in the tab that opens, then grant Zapier access to the account. If the Zap will touch agents or contacts you do not own, make sure your login has read or write access to them.

First Zap

Your first Zap: turn agent decisions into deals

GoalA real estate agency wants every decision its AI agent takes during a call to open a deal in HubSpot and ping the sales channel, while the caller is still talking.

  1. 01

    Build the trigger

Create a Zap and pick Digital Influencers with Agent Trigger. Place a test call, then test the step: Zapier brings back the three most recent items so you map fields on a real one.

  2. 02

    Open the deal

Add HubSpot with Create Deal. Map what the sample shows about the caller into the deal name and contact fields, so the rep opens a deal that already says who called.

  3. 03

    Ping the team

Add Slack with Send Channel Message and pick the channel your property agents watch. Put the caller's details in the message so nobody has to open HubSpot to react.

  4. 04

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back before going further. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. Three steps make it a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan is required.

Triggers

Digital Influencers triggers

2 events start a Zap when something happens in Digital Influencers, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Agent Trigger

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when the agent decides during a call.”

This one starts your Zap while the conversation is still going: it fires when the Digital Influencers agent makes a decision during a call. You no longer wait for the hang-up to act on what the agent concluded.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a prospect agrees to a viewing halfway through the call, and the sales rep should get a Slack ping before the call ends.
Watch out
the call is still running when it fires, so anything that needs the whole conversation belongs on New Call instead.
2

New Call

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a call is finished.”

Use New Call when the whole conversation matters: it fires once a call handled by your agent is finished. It is the natural starting point for anything that happens afterwards, from logging the call to planning a follow-up.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
every completed call should land as a note in your CRM, without anyone copying it over by hand.
Watch out
a Zap that starts on New Call and ends with Make a Call sets itself off again, because each call it places finishes and fires the trigger once more.
Actions

Digital Influencers actions

Digital Influencers gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Make a Call

Action

In Zapier“Initiate a call with a contact”

Make a Call has one of your AI agents dial someone for you. You choose the agent by its Agent ID, then map the person's name and phone number from an earlier step.

When to use it
a lead fills in your website form and should hear from the agent while the interest is still fresh.
Watch out
the phone number has to include the country code.
2

Add or Update Contact

Action

In Zapier“Add or update a contact based on their phone number.”

Keep the agent's contact list in step with another tool. The phone number is the key: a number already known gets updated, a new one becomes a fresh contact.

When to use it
a client books through your scheduling tool and should already sit in Digital Influencers before any call goes out.
Watch out
Name and Phone are both required, so feed them from a step that always carries them, phone with country code.
When it breaks

When a Digital Influencers Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to this app, so the traps below are the general ones that hit calling Zaps hardest.

None of them throws a dramatic error. They show up as a missing call, a phone that keeps ringing, or a batch that simply stalls. Each is cheap to avoid once you know it exists, and the Zapier troubleshooting page is there when one slips through.

  • Past calls never show up

A Zap only reacts to calls that end after you switch it on. Everything finished before that stays out, and moving the backlog is a separate job.
  • The agent keeps calling back

New Call feeding Make a Call is a loop: every call placed ends, fires the trigger and places another one, burning tasks fast.
  • A sudden burst gets held back

After a bulk import or a migration, a trigger that returns a huge batch at once can be slowed down by Zapier's flood protection.
  • Numbers without a country code

Both actions expect the phone number with its country code. A local format copied from a form is the first thing to check when a call goes nowhere.

FAQ

Digital Influencers and Zapier: common questions

01Is the Digital Influencers Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the free plan, with one real limit. Digital Influencers is not a premium app, so you can connect it without paying. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap is capped at two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap that saves a contact and then places a call has two actions, so it needs a paid plan. The same goes for any Zap that holds a filter. A simple Zap such as New Call followed by a Slack message stays free, as long as the monthly task count holds.
02How many tasks does a Digital Influencers Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. A call that ends and starts your Zap costs zero by itself. If the Zap then writes a row in a spreadsheet, that is one task. If it saves a contact and then asks the agent to call, that is two tasks for that one run. An action that fails is not counted against the plan. So the count follows the number of runs multiplied by the number of actions, which is worth estimating before you pick a plan if your agents handle many calls.
03Is the Digital Influencers trigger real time?
Yes, both of them. Agent Trigger and New Call are instant triggers: Digital Influencers tells Zapier the moment the event happens, instead of Zapier checking on a timer. That means the plan's polling interval does not apply, and a free account reacts as fast as an Enterprise one. This type is decided by the app itself and cannot be changed in the editor. In practice, a decision taken by the agent can reach your team while the call is still running, and a finished call can be logged right after the hang-up.
04What does it take to connect Digital Influencers to Zapier?
An existing Digital Influencers account and a Zapier account, nothing more for the connection itself. You open the Apps page in Zapier, click Add connection, pick the app, sign in and grant access. If the Zap will touch agents or contacts that someone else owns, your login needs read or write access on them. To use Make a Call, you also need at least one agent already set up, because the step asks for its Agent ID. Phone numbers must carry their country code in both actions.
05Why would a Zap keep calling the same contact again and again?
Because the Zap is feeding its own trigger. If New Call starts the Zap and the last step is Make a Call, each call the agent places will finish, fire New Call again and launch yet another call. Nothing stops this loop on its own, and every round costs a task while annoying the person on the other end. The fix is structural: never let a Zap write into the place its trigger watches. Start the call from another app instead, such as a form, a booking or a new row.
06What if the operation you need is not in the list?
Then it does not exist on Zapier for now, and no setting will reveal it. The app offers exactly two triggers, two actions and no search step. That means a Zap cannot look up an existing contact or past call before acting. Add or Update Contact partly covers the lookup, since it matches records by phone number. For anything else, such as editing an agent or ending a call, the request has to go to Digital Influencers, which decides what its Zapier listing exposes.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Digital Influencers?
Decide on criteria, not on a ranking. On Zapier, both Digital Influencers triggers are instant whatever the plan, so speed is not a reason to pay. What weighs more is the shape of your Zaps: a free account stops at two steps, and calling flows often need three. The billing model matters too, since every successful action counts as a task, and a busy calling agent can multiply runs. Check how many actions per run your flow needs and how many calls a month you expect, then compare those numbers across platforms.
