Ecologi Zapier integrationAutomate Ecologi with Zapier.
The Ecologi Zapier integration has 0 triggers, 2 actions and 0 searches. Ecologi never starts a Zap on its own: another app does, and Ecologi then plants trees or buys carbon offsets on your account, once per event, with no copy-paste.

What the Ecologi Zapier integration does for you
The Ecologi Zapier integration links your Ecologi account to the other tools you run, so that a business event pays for climate action by itself. Zapier is the go-between: it watches one app, and when something happens there, it tells Ecologi to plant trees or buy carbon offsets. You set the rule once.
Three results people build with it. A tree per sale: every new order in your shop runs Plant Trees with the number you chose, so the promise on your checkout page is kept without anyone remembering it. An offset per shipment or trip: a logistics or travel tool reports an event, and Buy Carbon Offsets funds credits in the unit and amount you set. A pledge per sign-up: a form or a booking tool starts the Zap, and each new participant adds trees to the tally.
Now the limits, because they shape everything. Ecologi has no trigger on Zapier, so nothing that happens inside Ecologi can start a Zap: no alert when trees are planted, no report sent on to a spreadsheet. It has no search either, so a Zap cannot look up your running total. The two actions only write. Each run plants or buys, and that is it.
The same app exists on Make, with its own page: the Ecologi Make integration. If Zapier itself is new to you, the Zapier training covers the editor from the start.
Zapier words, in one minute
Seven words come back all over this page. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- One automation on Zapier. With Ecologi it always has the same shape: an event in another app, then an Ecologi step that plants or buys, each time.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap. Ecologi offers none, so the trigger always comes from another tool: a new order, a booking, a form entry.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. Both Ecologi operations are actions.
- Task
- What Zapier bills: one action completed without error. With Ecologi, that is one planting or one offset purchase that went through.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer for new items. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A checkpoint before the Ecologi step: only events that meet your rule go through, so trees are planted for the orders you picked and no others.
- Connection
- Your Ecologi account linked to Zapier one time, then reused by every step that uses Ecologi, in every Zap you build.
What it really costs in tasks
Ecologi is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only actions make one.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Free plan Zap size2 steps: one trigger, one action
- EcologiNot premium, available on Free
- Failed actionNot counted
The trigger from your other app costs nothing, however often Zapier checks it. Each successful Plant Trees or Buy Carbon Offsets counts one task; a failed one counts zero. The free plan stops at two steps, though: add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. On the free plan, that gives at most 100 Ecologi runs a month. Size the trigger volume with that ceiling in mind.
Connect Ecologi to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need an Ecologi account first: Zapier links an existing account, it does not create one for you.
- 02
Pick Ecologi
Type Ecologi in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Ecologi side, where the sign-in to your account happens.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Ecologi with the account that should pay for the trees and offsets, then allow Zapier to act on it. The connection is now saved and shows up in every Zap that uses Ecologi.
Your first Zap: trees for bigger orders
GoalEach Shopify order above a value you choose plants trees on your Ecologi account.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and pick Shopify with New Order as the event that starts it. Ecologi cannot go first, since it has no trigger.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent orders from your shop, so you work on a real one and see which values it carries.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter. Pick the value you spotted in the test, a number rule, then your threshold. This step makes it a multi-step Zap, on a paid plan.
- 04
Add Plant Trees
Add Ecologi with
Plant Treesand type the Number of Trees, the only required field. A fixed number per order keeps the spend easy to forecast. - 05
Test and publish
Test the Ecologi step once and read what comes back before going further. If it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The 2 Ecologi actions
Ecologi gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Buy Carbon Offsets
ActionIn Zapier“Buy some carbon offsets”
Funds certified carbon credits on your Ecologi account every time the Zap runs. You pick the unit, then how many of that unit to buy per run; both fields are required.
Plant Trees
ActionIn Zapier“Plant some trees”
Orders a given number of trees on Ecologi, charged at the standard tree rate for the currency of your account. The single required field is the Number of Trees.
When it breaks
Zapier ties no help article to Ecologi, and no Ecologi-specific limit is on record. What breaks comes from how Zapier itself works.
Four cases are worth knowing before the first real run. None of them is a bug: each one is how a Zap is designed to behave, and two of them change what your account pays for.
Past orders are not planted
Switching the Zap on today does nothing for the orders of last month: only new events plant trees. If your pledge covers the backlog, plant those trees by hand, as a separate job.A sudden batch gets held back
Importing a catalogue of old orders or moving to a new shop can make the trigger return a huge batch at once. Zapier's flood protection may hold it back rather than plant for every line.Duplicates on a polling trigger
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same order does not plant trees twice even if the shop lists it again. Two actions, two tasks
Plant Trees and Buy Carbon Offsets in the same Zap count separately. Every success is a task, so the Zap uses twice as many as a one-action version.
