Overview

What the Endorsal Zapier integration actually does

It links your Endorsal account to the rest of your tools through Zapier. One side listens: when a customer submits a testimonial on one of your properties, Zapier picks it up. The other side writes: Zapier can add a contact, create a SuperLink or submit a testimonial in Endorsal for you.

Three results people usually build. First, a team alert: New Testimonial Submission feeds a chat message, so sales sees fresh praise the same day. Second, a request pipeline: a paid order in your shop runs Create a New Contact, and that customer becomes someone Endorsal can ask for a review. Third, a single home for feedback: praise collected elsewhere goes into Endorsal through Submit a New Testimonial, next to everything else.

Now the limits. There is no search step for this app, so a Zap cannot look up an existing contact or testimonial before acting. Updating or deleting anything is not offered either: three actions, all of them create something. And the only trigger works by polling (Zapier checks on a timer), so nothing here is instant, whatever plan you pay for.

If you are weighing tools, the Endorsal Make integration page covers the same app on the other platform, while Make vs Zapier compares the two.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven terms come back on this page. Here is each one in plain English.

Zap
A small automation you assemble on Zapier: something happens, like a testimonial arriving, and the steps you lined up behind it run on their own.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap, here a new testimonial in Endorsal. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
A step that does the work after the start. On this page, that means creating a contact, a SuperLink or a testimonial in Endorsal, or posting elsewhere.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action that completed successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
Polling means Zapier asks the app for new items on a timer. Instant means the app calls Zapier the moment it happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived matches your condition. Anything else stops right there.
Connection
Your Endorsal account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that talks to Endorsal.
Cost

What it really costs to run

Endorsal is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill depends on actions, not on checks.

  • Premium appNo, free plan works
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Trigger cost0 tasks
  • Per successful action1 task

The trigger never costs a task, however often Zapier looks. Each action that succeeds counts once; a failed one counts nothing. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and checks every 15 minutes, but only two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. In short: a testimonial alert costs one task per testimonial, and a Zap with three actions costs three.

Connect

Connect Endorsal to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your Apps page

In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need an Endorsal account first, plus access to any property you did not create yourself but want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Find Endorsal

Type Endorsal in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Endorsal side, where the rest of the setup happens.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to Endorsal in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection then shows on your Apps page, and every Endorsal step you build later reuses it.

First Zap

Your first Zap: selected testimonials go to Airtable

GoalA marketing agency logs the testimonials it wants to reuse in client case material into an Airtable base.

  1. 01

    Start the Zap

Create a new Zap, pick Endorsal and the New Testimonial Submission event, then choose the property and the form. Run the test: Zapier pulls the three latest testimonials so you map on a real one.

  2. 02

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, and set the field, the rule and the value. Pick a value you spotted in the test testimonial. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is required.

  3. 03

    Add the Airtable action

Add Airtable with Create Record, choose the base and the table, then map the customer name and the testimonial text into the matching columns.

  4. 04

    Test the action

Run the step once and open Airtable to check the record really appeared. If the filter lets nothing through, check the rule type: text rules for text, number rules for numbers.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Testimonials received before that moment stay out; the Zap only reacts to what comes next.

Triggers

The Endorsal trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Endorsal. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Testimonial Submission

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new testimonial is submitted to your property.”

Starts your Zap each time a customer sends a testimonial to one of your Endorsal properties. The content becomes available to the next steps, so you can route praise wherever your team actually looks.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a support lead wants every new review posted in a shared channel without logging in to Endorsal.
Watch out
you must choose both a property and a form, so one Zap watches one form; a second form needs its own Zap.
Actions

The three Endorsal actions

Endorsal gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create a New Contact

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new contact to send a testimonial request to.”

Adds a person to Endorsal so the app can later send them a testimonial request. It is the entry door for customers coming from a shop, a CRM or a booking tool.

When to use it
right after a sale or a finished project, while the experience is fresh.
Watch out
the property is required, so decide upfront which property collects these requests.
3

Submit a New Testimonial

Action

In Zapier“Automatically submit a new testimonial to Endorsal.”

Writes a testimonial straight into Endorsal. You give the customer name and their words, pick the property and the EndoForm, and choose whether it is approved automatically.

When to use it
praise arrives through a survey or a form outside Endorsal and you want it in one place.
Watch out
leaving auto-approve on marks the text as approved without anyone reading it first.
When it breaks

When it breaks

Zapier links no help article to Endorsal, so the known failures are the general ones. They still bite.

  • Old testimonials never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Testimonials already in Endorsal are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.
  • The Zap triggers itself in a loop

Pair New Testimonial Submission with Submit a New Testimonial on the same form and each write sets the Zap off again, eating tasks fast.
  • A big import goes quiet

When the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.
  • No duplicates, by design

Zapier remembers which testimonials it has already seen, so the same one never starts the Zap twice. A missing run is not a duplicate filter gone wrong.

FAQ

Endorsal and Zapier: common questions

01Is the Endorsal Zapier integration free?
Yes, within the free plan's limits. Endorsal is not a premium app, so it runs on the free Zapier plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and checks for new items every 15 minutes. The catch is the shape of the Zap: free Zaps have two steps only, one trigger and one action. As soon as you add a filter or a second action, the Zap is multi-step and Zapier asks for a paid plan. A simple alert from a new testimonial to a chat tool fits for free.
02How many tasks does an Endorsal Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. Zapier can check Endorsal for new testimonials as often as your plan allows without spending anything. Only completed actions are billed. A Zap that creates one Endorsal contact per order spends one task per order. A Zap with three actions spends three times as much on each run. An action that fails is not counted against your plan, so errors do not drain the allowance, they just leave work undone.
03Does Endorsal trigger Zapier in real time?
No. New Testimonial Submission is a polling trigger: Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan. On the free plan that is every 15 minutes, on Professional every 2 minutes, and on Team or Enterprise every minute. The type comes from the app itself and cannot be switched in the editor. On paid plans you can also run a check by hand from the editor when you are testing and do not want to wait.
04What do you need to connect Endorsal?
An Endorsal account, and access to the properties the Zap will use. The connection takes three moves: open Apps in Zapier, add a connection for Endorsal, then sign in and allow access. After that, every Endorsal step reuses it. Before building, check that the account has at least one property, because every operation asks for one. Two actions also need an EndoForm, so create one first if you plan to make SuperLinks or submit testimonials.
05Can a testimonial be approved without review?
Yes, and that is the trap. Submit a New Testimonial has an auto-approve option. Turned on, whatever the Zap sends lands as an approved testimonial with no human reading it first. That is fine for text you already checked, risky for raw survey answers. A safer pattern is to leave auto-approve off and let someone approve in Endorsal, or add a filter before the action so only answers that pass a condition you set get through.
06What if the Endorsal operation you want is missing?
Then Zapier alone will not do it for this app. The integration offers one trigger and three create actions, with no search, no update and no delete. If the job needs to find an existing contact or edit a testimonial, a Zap cannot reach it through these steps. Check the operation list in the Zapier editor first, since the app page lists what is visible today. If it is not there, the work has to happen in Endorsal or through another route.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Endorsal?
Decide on criteria, not on a ranking. On Zapier, Endorsal offers one polling trigger and three actions, works on the free plan, and costs one task per successful action. Ask whether those four operations cover the job, whether a 15-minute delay is acceptable, and whether a two-step Zap is enough or you need filters, which means paying. Then check the same points on the other platform's Endorsal page before committing, because the list of operations is set by each platform.
