Overview

What the Flaree Zapier integration actually does

Flaree is an employee engagement tool built around recognition: a manager sends a card, the teammate receives points. Hooked to Zapier, that gesture can run on its own. Another app reports the event, and Zapier sends the Flaree for you. There is exactly one operation, so the whole question is what starts it.

Three results people usually build with Send Flaree. First, a recognition sent the day a row lands in a tracking sheet: a closed deal, a finished onboarding, a support milestone. Second, points handed out from a form a manager fills in, so nobody has to log into Flaree to say thanks. Third, a fixed reward for a recurring achievement, with the card name and the points amount set once in the Zap and reused every time.

What the listing leaves unsaid: Zapier cannot listen to Flaree at all. With no trigger, nothing that happens inside Flaree will ever start a Zap. It cannot look up a teammate in Flaree either, since there is no search. And it cannot invent who gives the card: the giver has to be a real Flaree user with the right permission (more on that in the connection tip).

So Flaree always sits at the end of a Zap, never at the start. If you are still weighing the platform itself, the Zapier review covers it, and the Flaree Make integration page exists for the same app on Make.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back on this page. Here is what each one means in plain terms.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every single time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Flaree has none, so another app plays this role.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something. Send Flaree is the only action this app offers.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan is a count of those successful actions.
Polling vs instant
Checked on a timer (polling) or pushed by the app at once (instant). Here only the starting app's trigger has a type, never Flaree.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Connection
Your Flaree account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that needs Flaree, in every Zap you build.
Cost

What a Flaree Zap really costs

Flaree is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill comes from tasks, not from the app.

  • Premium appNo, available on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks per month, two-step Zaps only
  • BilledEach Flaree sent successfully
  • Not billedThe trigger, the checks, failed sends

Each Flaree sent successfully counts as one task. The trigger never costs anything, and neither does Zapier checking for new data. A send that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two steps per Zap: one trigger, one action. Add a filter and you have a multi-step Zap (anything beyond trigger plus one action), which needs a paid plan, however few cards it sends.

Connect

Connect your Flaree account in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Have your Flaree login ready, along with the address of a user allowed to give cards in Flaree.

  2. 02

    Find Flaree and confirm

Type Flaree in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab then opens on the Flaree side, where the sign-in happens.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to Flaree in that tab and allow Zapier to act on the account. The connection then shows up in your list, ready for every Zap that sends a Flaree.

First Zap

Your first Flaree Zap, step by step

GoalEach new row in a sales tracking sheet marked as won sends a 50-point Flaree to the rep named on that row.

  1. 01

    Pick the starting event

Create a Zap and choose Google Sheets as the trigger app, with the sheet where reps log their deals. Test it: Zapier pulls the three most recent rows so you map on real data.

  2. 02

    Add the filter

From the plus icon, add Filter. Pick the status value you spotted in the test row, choose a text rule, type Won. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan.

  3. 03

    Set up Send Flaree

Add Flaree as the action and pick Send Flaree. Map the rep email from the row into Receiver Email, type the manager address in Giver Email, name the card, enter 50 points.

  4. 04

    Test, then publish

Run the action test once and check in Flaree that the card arrived for the right person. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. Only rows added after that moment count.

Actions

The Flaree action available in Zapier

Flaree gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Send Flaree

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Flaree with points to a team member”

Hands a recognition card with a points amount to a teammate, from a giver you name. Four fields are required: who gives, who receives, the card name, and how many points.

When to use it
a win logged in another tool deserves a thank-you that nobody should have to remember to send.
Watch out
the giver needs giver permissions in Flaree and the receiver must already be in your organization.
When it breaks

When a Flaree Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Flaree, so the traps below are the general ones, read through a recognition use case.

Most failures come from the starting app, not from Flaree. If you get stuck, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Past wins get nothing

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. Rows already in your sheet will never trigger a Flaree. Old achievements need to be thanked by hand.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Paste a big batch of rows at once, after a migration for example, and Zapier's flood protection may hold the trigger back instead of firing a card for each one.
  • The same row fires once

On a polling trigger such as a new spreadsheet row, Zapier keeps track of the rows it has already seen, so the same row never starts the Zap twice or sends a duplicate Flaree.
  • Wrong person, failed send

A giver without giver permissions, or a receiver missing from your Flaree organization, makes the action fail. Failed sends cost no task, but nobody gets thanked.

FAQ

Flaree Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the Flaree Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the free plan, because Flaree is not a premium app. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch? Shape. Two steps only, one trigger and one action, so a Zap that starts in Google Sheets and sends a Flaree on every new row fits without trouble. Add a filter to keep only some rows and the Zap becomes multi-step, which is reserved to paid plans. So free works for a simple rule that fires on every new item, not for a selective one.
02How many tasks does sending a Flaree use?
One task per Flaree sent successfully. The trigger that starts the Zap costs nothing, and neither do the checks Zapier runs to look for new data. A send that fails, for example because the receiver is not in your Flaree organization, is not counted. If your Zap carries other actions after Send Flaree, each successful one counts on its own, so a Zap with three actions uses three tasks per run. Do the math on how many wins you expect per month.
03Does Flaree work in real time with Zapier?
It depends entirely on the app that starts the Zap, since Flaree has no trigger of its own. If that app offers an instant trigger, it reports the event to Zapier straight away, whatever your plan. If it uses a polling trigger, Zapier checks at an interval set by your plan: every 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. Not sure which kind yours is? The app page on Zapier labels every trigger, so one click settles it. After that, Send Flaree runs right away.
04What do you need to connect Flaree to Zapier?
An existing Flaree account, nothing more on the Zapier side. You open Apps, click Add connection, pick Flaree, sign in and grant access. The real prerequisite shows up at the first send: the person in the Giver Email field must be a Flaree user with giver permissions, and the person in Receiver Email must already be added to your Flaree organization. Without that, the connection works but every send fails. Check permissions with whoever manages Flaree before building the Zap.
05Why does Send Flaree fail when the Zap looks right?
Usually one of the two email fields points to the wrong person. Send Flaree requires four fields: Giver Email, Receiver Email, Flaree Name and Points. The giver must hold giver permissions in Flaree, and the receiver must be part of your organization there. A typo, a personal address instead of a work one, or a newcomer not yet added to Flaree is enough to block the send. Test with a known pair first, then map the dynamic email.
06What if the Flaree operation you want is not in Zapier?
Then it is not available through this integration, and the page lists everything that is: one action, Send Flaree. Zapier offers no trigger and no search for Flaree, so reacting to a card received or looking up a user cannot be done here. Workarounds stay on the other side: start the Zap from the tool where the event happens, and keep Flaree as the last step. For anything Flaree itself does not expose, ask its team whether more operations are planned.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Flaree?
Pick by criteria, not by brand. On Zapier, Flaree offers a single action, works on the free plan and needs no premium access, which suits a two-step rule that sends a card on every new item. The limits that matter are the two-step cap on Free and the absence of any Flaree trigger or search. If you need filters or several steps, compare what each platform charges for multi-step workflows and check that the starting app you rely on is supported there too.
