Happierleads Zapier integrationAutomate Happierleads with Zapier.
The Happierleads Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 0 actions and 0 searches. One door out, then: each lead Happierleads identifies on your website can start a workflow in another app. Here is what that door does, what it costs, and where it jams.

What the Happierleads Zapier integration actually does
Happierleads watches your website traffic and works out which businesses are behind the visits, then lists them as leads. Connecting it to Zapier means one thing: every time a new lead shows up in Happierleads, a Zap can pick it up and pass it to another tool, without anyone copying it over by hand.
Three outcomes come up again and again, and all three rest on the one trigger, New Lead. A fresh contact in your CRM, created the moment the lead lands, so a rep can follow up while the visit is still recent. A ping in your team chat, so nobody has to keep Happierleads open all day. And a growing row-by-row log in a spreadsheet, handy when you want to sort and count leads outside the tool.
Now the limits, because they shape everything. The integration only reads. There is no action for Happierleads in Zapier, so a Zap can never write back into it: no tagging a lead, no updating it, no deleting it. There is no search either, so a later step cannot go and look a lead up. Everything a Zap knows about a lead comes from that one trigger.
The trigger is not instant. Zapier checks Happierleads on a timer, so a lead can sit for a few minutes before the Zap runs (the exact gap depends on your plan, covered below). If you are weighing other platforms, the Happierleads Make integration page covers the same app on Make, and our Zapier review looks at the tool as a whole.
Zapier words, one line each
You will see these terms on every screen. Here is what they mean in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts a Zap. Here, Happierleads identifying a new lead. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that creates, sends or writes something in another app for you.
- Task
- What Zapier bills you for: one action that completes successfully. Your plan's allowance is counted in tasks.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer by Zapier. An instant one is pushed by the app the moment it happens. New Lead is polling.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming lead matches a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Happierleads account, linked to Zapier a single time, then reused by every Zap that needs it.
What it really costs
Happierleads is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill depends on your actions, not on the trigger.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Trigger cost0 tasks
- Filter or extra stepPaid plan needed
Zapier checking for new leads costs nothing, however often it looks, and the trigger never counts as a task. Each action that succeeds counts once: a Zap with two actions spends twice as much per lead. A failed action is not billed. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only, one trigger plus one action. Add a filter or a second action and you have a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
Connect your Happierleads account
- 01
Open your connections
You need a Happierleads account first. In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A dialog then opens with a search box.
- 02
Pick Happierleads
Type the name in the dialog, select Happierleads from the results, then click Add connection. Zapier opens a new tab where you sign in to Happierleads with your usual login.
- 03
Grant access
Approve the access request so Zapier can read your leads. The connection now sits on your Apps page, and every Zap you build later reuses it instead of asking you to sign in again.
Your first Zap: hot leads to Slack
GoalA SaaS sales team wants a Slack message for the leads worth a call, and nothing for the rest.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose Happierleads as the app and New Lead as the event, then select the Happierleads connection you just made.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads from your account, so you build the rest on a real one. Read what came back.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Pick a field you spotted in the test lead. This makes the Zap multi-step: paid plan.
- 04
Add the Slack action
Add Slack, pick the channel and write the message, dropping in details from the lead. Map them from the test sample, not from memory.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each step once and check the message in your Slack channel. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on for good.
The Happierleads trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Happierleads. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Lead
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is Identified by Happierleads.”
Starts your Zap each time Happierleads identifies a new business among your website visitors. That lead becomes the raw material for every step after it, since this is the only thing the integration hands to Zapier.
When the Zap stops behaving
Zapier links no help article to Happierleads, so the failures worth knowing are the general ones. They still catch people out.
Most surprises with this integration come from timing and volume, not from Happierleads itself. If a run looks wrong, our Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the usual checks.
Old leads never show up
A Zap only picks up leads identified after it goes live. Anything already in Happierleads stays there; moving that backlog is a separate job.A sudden wave gets held back
If Happierleads suddenly returns a huge batch at once, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back instead of firing them all.The same lead twice? Not from the trigger
Zapier remembers which leads it has already seen on a polling trigger, so one lead does not start the Zap twice. The filter never lets anything through
Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. Choosing the wrong kind is the classic reason nothing passes.
