What the NeetoChat Zapier integration actually does
NeetoChat is a live chat tool: your customers start a conversation and your team answers them live. Connecting it to Zapier means one thing: each time a new conversation is created, NeetoChat tells Zapier, and Zapier passes it to another tool your team already watches. NeetoChat opens the Zap; it is never where the Zap writes.
Three results people build with the single Conversation trigger. Nobody misses a chat: each new conversation posts a message in your team chat, so whoever is free can jump in even when NeetoChat is not open. A record of incoming chats: each conversation adds a row to a spreadsheet, a simple list you can read back to see when people reach out. A follow-up that is not forgotten: each conversation creates a task in your task tool, so a chat that needs more work does not end with the window.
What Zapier does not do here matters as much. NeetoChat offers no action and no search on Zapier: a Zap cannot reply in a conversation, close it, assign it or look one up. The only event it reports is a conversation being created; no trigger covers a new message inside an existing one.
Timing works for you: the trigger is instant, so the interval tied to each plan never delays it, and the free plan covers a two-step Zap. If you are weighing tools, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison or our Zapier review.
Zapier words, in one minute
Eight words keep coming back on this page. Here is what each one means, without jargon.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap, here a new conversation in NeetoChat. Once the Zap is on, Zapier simply waits for it to happen.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app you have connected.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action the Zap completes successfully. The allowance on your plan is counted in those tasks.
- Instant vs polling
- An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens. A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops that run otherwise.
- Connection
- Your NeetoChat account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step and every Zap that needs to hear from NeetoChat.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search turns it into one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a NeetoChat Zap really costs
NeetoChat is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The trigger never costs a task: only an action that goes through is billed.
- TriggerFree, never counted
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, available on the free plan
A conversation that runs a Zap with two actions costs two tasks, and an action that fails is not counted against your plan. A few apps and a few actions take more than one task when they complete, so check the count after the first runs. The free plan builds two-step Zaps only: adding a filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step and calls for a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers: it does not apply to the instant NeetoChat trigger.
Connect NeetoChat to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open Apps and add a connection
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. Type NeetoChat in the search box of the dialog that opens, then pick it from the results.
- 02
Sign in to NeetoChat
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on NeetoChat: sign in there with the account whose conversations the Zap should follow. That account is the one the connection will use for every NeetoChat step afterwards.
- 03
Grant Zapier access
Approve the access request. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The connection is then reused by every NeetoChat step.
Your first Zap: announce and log every new chat
GoalEach new NeetoChat conversation posts a message in your team chat and adds a row to a spreadsheet.
- 01
Start with the trigger
Create a Zap, choose NeetoChat as the app and
Conversationas the event, then pick the NeetoChat connection you added earlier. - 02
Test it on real chats
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent conversations of the connected account, so you map fields on a real chat rather than guessing.
- 03
Write the chat message
Add an action in your team chat and place what the test returned into the message. Check at the test which conversation details NeetoChat actually sends.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet row
Add a second action that adds a row to your spreadsheet. A second action turns this into a multi-step Zap, so this step needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When everything looks right, publish the Zap to switch it on. Only conversations created from then on will run it.
The NeetoChat trigger on Zapier
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in NeetoChat, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Conversation
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new conversation is created.”
Each conversation created in NeetoChat starts the Zap through this trigger. It is the only NeetoChat operation on Zapier, so every Zap you build with NeetoChat begins here, and what happens next depends on the tools you add after it.
When a NeetoChat Zap goes wrong
No help article is attached to NeetoChat on Zapier, and no NeetoChat-specific limit is documented there. What can go wrong comes from Zapier itself.
These four cases apply to any NeetoChat Zap. If a run fails anyway, open our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Old conversations are not replayed
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Conversations that already existed stay where they are; moving them is a separate job.A Zap that sets itself off
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn through your task count fast.Bursts can be held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.A filter that never passes
Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. Picking the wrong type is why a filter never lets anything through.
