Overview

What the LassoCRM Zapier integration does for a sales team

The LassoCRM Zapier integration links LassoCRM, the CRM home sales teams use to follow buyers project by project, to the rest of your tools without code. A registrant signs up in LassoCRM, and Zapier passes them on. Or a lead lands somewhere else, and Zapier creates the registrant for you.

Three results cover most uses. First, leads from anywhere: a form, a landing page or an ad platform feeds Create Registrant, so every prospect lands on the right project with a sales rep notified. Second, a contact history that starts with the lead: in the same Zap, Create a History Item adds a first entry on the new registrant saying where it came from. Third, registrants pushed outward: New Registrant starts a Zap that adds the buyer to your email tool or a reporting sheet.

What it does not do. There is a single trigger, so nothing starts a Zap when a registrant is updated. There is no search either, which means a Zap cannot look up an existing registrant: the registrant ID has to come from the trigger or from an earlier step in the same Zap. And the trigger polls, so new registrants arrive with a delay set by your plan.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven words carry this page. Here they are once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier keeps watching for that event.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something in an app for you.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully; your plan counts nothing else.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer set by your plan. An instant trigger is pushed by the app the moment it happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Connection
Your LassoCRM account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that reads or writes in LassoCRM.
Cost

What a LassoCRM Zap really costs

LassoCRM is not a premium app, so it works on the Free plan. Zapier bills tasks, and only successful actions count.

  • Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps
  • Zap size on FreeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
  • LassoCRM trigger1 polling, 0 instant
  • Premium appNo

The trigger costs nothing, however often Zapier checks for new registrants. Each action that succeeds counts once, so a Zap that creates a registrant and then a history item spends two tasks per lead, while a failed action costs nothing. The Free plan builds two-step Zaps only: a filter or a second action needs a paid plan. And since New Registrant polls, your plan also sets how fast it reacts, from every 15 minutes on Free to every minute on Team and Enterprise.

Connect

Connect your LassoCRM account in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your LassoCRM account linked once to Zapier, then reused by every step that touches LassoCRM.

  2. 02

    Pick LassoCRM in the dialog

Type LassoCRM in the dialog's search box, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the LassoCRM sign-in page. Use an account that has access to the projects you want to automate.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to LassoCRM in that tab and allow Zapier into the account. Beyond your own records, the Zap can only read or write the projects and registrants this account already has access to.

First Zap

Your first Zap: log a history item on each new registrant

GoalEvery new registrant that meets your condition gets a first history item, so the sales rep sees at a glance where the lead came from.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap. It reads top to bottom: the app and event that start it, then the steps that follow, with fields mapped between them.

  2. 02

    Set the trigger

Pick LassoCRM, then New Registrant. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent registrants, so you map fields on a real one.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, add Filter and set the condition a registrant must meet. The filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the history action

Choose Create a History Item, map the registrant ID from the trigger, and write a short body saying how and when the lead arrived.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Run each step once and open the registrant in LassoCRM. When the history item shows, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

The LassoCRM trigger: what starts a Zap

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in LassoCRM. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Registrant

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new registrant is added.”

Starts the Zap each time a registrant, a prospective buyer signed up on one of your projects, is added to LassoCRM. The registrant's details, including the ID the history actions need, flow to the next steps.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
sending each new buyer to your email marketing tool, a reporting spreadsheet or the team chat of the sales office.
Watch out
it only sees new registrants, not edits. And a Zap that also uses Create Registrant feeds this trigger, so the two can set each other off.
Actions

LassoCRM actions: what the Zap writes

LassoCRM gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Update and Append to a History Item

Action

In Zapier“Updates and appends text to an existing history item associated with a registrant.”

Adds text to the end of a history item that already sits on a registrant, without touching what was written before.

When to use it
a follow-up call on the same topic should extend the existing entry rather than open a new one.
Watch out
it needs the registrant ID and the history item ID, and there is no search to find either, so keep both from earlier steps.
2

Create a History Item

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new history item associated with a registrant.”

Writes a new entry in a registrant's history, the timeline sales reps read before calling a buyer back.

When to use it
right after New Registrant or Create Registrant, to note where the lead came from while its ID is at hand.
Watch out
the body text and the registrant ID are both required; map the ID from New Registrant or from Create Registrant.
3

Create Registrant

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new Registrant on a project.”

Adds a new registrant to a project from a lead captured somewhere else. Zapier highlights it as the app's flagship step.

When to use it
every form or ad lead should reach LassoCRM and its sales rep without retyping.
Watch out
the sales rep notification is on by default, and the merge option can fold a duplicate into the original registrant.
When it breaks

When a LassoCRM Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to LassoCRM and lists no LassoCRM-specific rate limit. What goes wrong comes from a few defaults of the app and from how Zapier works in general.

  • Two Zaps keep feeding each other

A Zap that creates registrants in a project watched by New Registrant wakes that trigger again. Chain them carelessly and they loop, eating tasks.
  • Sales reps get an email per lead

Create Registrant sends the assignment notification to the sales rep unless you switch that option off. A bulk import then floods their inbox.
  • Older registrants never show up

A Zap only reacts to registrants added after it is switched on. Existing ones are never replayed; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A big import is held back

When the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back.

FAQ

LassoCRM and Zapier: common questions

01Is the LassoCRM Zapier integration free?
Yes, within the Free plan limits. LassoCRM is not a premium app, so it works on Free, which gives 100 tasks per month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is size: a Free Zap holds one trigger and one action. Sending web leads into Create Registrant fits. Creating the registrant and then logging a history item, or adding a filter on the project, makes the Zap multi-step, and that requires a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a LassoCRM Zap use?
One task per successful action, nothing for the trigger. A Zap that sends each new registrant to your email tool uses one task per registrant. A Zap that creates a registrant and then a history item uses two per lead. Actions that fail are not counted. With 100 tasks per month on Free, a project launch that brings in a wave of registrants can use up the month quickly, so check the volume before you scale.
03Is LassoCRM to Zapier real time?
No. New Registrant is a polling trigger: Zapier checks LassoCRM for new registrants on a timer, and how often depends on your plan. That is every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 minutes on Professional and every minute on Team and Enterprise. The actions themselves run as soon as their Zap starts, so a lead coming from an instant form trigger in another app reaches LassoCRM right away, with no wait on its side.
04What does connecting LassoCRM to Zapier require?
A LassoCRM account with access to the projects you want to automate, plus read or write rights on any records you do not own. The connection takes three moves: add it from the Apps page in Zapier, sign in to LassoCRM in the tab that opens, then grant access. After that, the same connection serves every LassoCRM step in all your Zaps, so you only do it once per account.
05Why can a LassoCRM Zap not find an existing registrant?
Because LassoCRM offers no search step on Zapier. Both history actions need a registrant ID, and the Zap can only get it from the New Registrant trigger or from a Create Registrant step earlier in the same Zap. A call logged days later in another tool therefore cannot locate the registrant by name or email. Store the ID somewhere your other tool can read it, such as a field in your phone or email system.
06What if the LassoCRM operation you need is missing?
Work with the four steps that exist, or look elsewhere for the rest. There is no trigger on updated registrants, no search, and no update action beyond appending to a history item. A common workaround is to let the event that matters start in another app, then write the outcome into LassoCRM as a history item. For anything the integration does not expose, you need another route than these Zapier steps.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for LassoCRM?
It depends on criteria, not on a ranking. Coverage: Zapier offers four ready steps for LassoCRM, which suits lead capture and history logging. Speed: the only trigger polls, so reaction time depends on your plan. Cost model: Zapier bills each successful action, so a busy project launch adds up. If you need more than these four steps, check what the other platforms expose for LassoCRM before you commit to one.
