Overview

What the Launch27 Zapier integration does for a service business

The integration lets a Zap (an automation that runs a set of steps every time something happens in an app) react to the life of each booking in Launch27, the online booking tool used by local service businesses. It works one way: Launch27 sends events out, nothing is written back.

Three results service owners actually get. A schedule everyone can read: New Booking, Booking Updated and Booking Cancelled keep a shared sheet or calendar in step with Launch27, so the office stops answering the same question about tomorrow's jobs. Crews who know before they leave: Booking Assignment Changed can message the person who just got a job, and the one who lost it. Customers followed up at the right time: Booking Completed can send the review request, Quote Created can start a follow-up sequence, and New Customer feeds your email list.

All nine triggers are instant: Launch27 warns Zapier itself, so the polling interval of your plan never delays them, even on the free plan.

What Zapier does not do here. There is no action and no search for Launch27. A Zap cannot create a booking, change a time slot, assign a crew or look up a customer inside Launch27: every write happens in the apps that come after the trigger. If you are comparing platforms, see our Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier comparisons.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back on every Zapier screen. Plain definitions first; the rest of the page then uses them as is.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap, like a new booking in Launch27. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something in another app. Launch27 offers none.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action the Zap completes successfully. Your plan's monthly allowance counts those and nothing else.
Polling vs instant
Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, which is how all nine Launch27 triggers work.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when the incoming data meets a rule you set, such as a booking for one service type.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What it really costs

Launch27 is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. Zapier bills in tasks, and only completed actions count.

  • Launch27 triggers0 tasks, instant on every plan
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
  • Premium appNo

A Launch27 trigger never costs a task: a booking, a customer or a quote reaching Zapier is free. You pay for what follows, one task per successful action in other apps. Log each booking in a sheet and text the assigned crew, and every booking costs two tasks. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only, so that second action already needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to polling triggers in other apps, never to Launch27.

Connect

Connect Launch27 to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. All your connections are kept here, so you link Launch27 once and every Zap reuses it.

  2. 02

    Pick Launch27

Type Launch27 in the search box of the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Launch27 side so you can finish linking the two accounts.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to Launch27 in that tab and allow Zapier to access the account. Use the owner login, or one that can see every booking, customer and quote the Zap should react to.

First Zap

Your first Zap: new Launch27 bookings into a job sheet

GoalEvery new booking appears as a row the office and the crews can check.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick Launch27

Start a new Zap, choose Launch27 as the trigger app and New Booking as the event, then select the Launch27 connection you set up.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent bookings of the connected account. Pick a real one, so the fields you map next match an actual job.

  3. 03

    Add the sheet action

Add your spreadsheet app as the action, choose the file and the tab, then map the booking fields you need into the matching columns.

  4. 04

    Test the action

Run the action once and open the sheet to confirm that the row arrived with the right values in the right columns before you go further.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Each new booking now reaches the sheet as soon as it is made, and this two-step Zap stays on the free plan.

Triggers

Launch27 triggers in Zapier

9 events start a Zap when something happens in Launch27, and 9 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Booking Assignment Changed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggered when L27 Booking's team assignment changes.”

Reacts when the team assigned to a Launch27 booking changes, so the people who just gained or lost the job hear about it without the dispatcher calling round.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you reshuffle crews the evening before, and each person should get a text with the jobs that are now theirs.
Watch out
it reports the change of team only, so a new time or address on the same booking needs Booking Updated instead.
2

Booking Cancelled

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggered when Launch27 Booking is cancelled.”

Fires when a booking is cancelled in Launch27, giving the next steps what they need to free the slot everywhere else it was recorded.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want the shared calendar cleared and the crew told, so nobody drives to an empty house.
Watch out
a cancelled job can come back, so pair this Zap with one on Booking Restored, or your other tools will stay out of date.
3

Booking Completed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Booking is completed.”

Starts the Zap once a job is marked as done in Launch27, which makes it the natural moment for anything that should follow the visit.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you send a review request or a thank-you email while the result is still fresh in the customer's mind.
Watch out
the Zap runs only if the crew or the office actually marks the job as completed; a job left open never starts it.
4

New Booking

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Booking is created.”

Hands every freshly created Launch27 booking to the rest of your tools, whether the customer booked online or the office entered it by hand.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want each new job in your scheduling sheet and a heads-up in the team chat as soon as the booking is in.
Watch out
later edits to that booking do not start this Zap again, so changes need their own Zap on Booking Updated.
5

Booking Restored

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggered when Launch27 Booking is restored.”

Catches the moment a cancelled booking is brought back in Launch27, so a job that came back to life is not missing from the tools that had already dropped it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a customer cancels then changes their mind, and the calendar entry and the crew notice removed earlier must reappear.
Watch out
this trigger only makes sense next to a Zap on Booking Cancelled; on its own it repairs nothing.
6

Booking Updated

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Booking is updated.”

Signals any change to an existing booking in Launch27, so a new date, a different address or an extra service is carried to every copy of that job.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
the office moves a job to next week and the shared calendar plus the crew's job list should follow on their own.
Watch out
it can fire often on busy days, and every action it runs costs a task, so add a filter if only some changes matter.
7

New Customer

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Customer is created.”

Passes each customer record created in Launch27 to the next steps, so the person who just booked also exists in your CRM or your mailing tool.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want every new client added to your newsletter list.
Watch out
customers created before the Zap was published are not sent, so import your existing client base once by hand.
8

Customer Updated

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Customer is updated.”

Reports edits to a customer record in Launch27, such as a new phone number or a changed email, so the other systems that hold that customer stay accurate.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
your CRM is where sales follows up, and it must hold the same contact details as the booking system.
Watch out
the target tool has to find the matching contact itself, since Launch27 offers no search step in Zapier.
9

Quote Created

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggered when Quote is created.”

Launches the Zap whenever a quote is created in Launch27, which gives you a hook for following up with prospects who asked for a price but have not booked yet.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want each quote logged in a pipeline sheet and a reminder sent to the salesperson.
Watch out
nothing here tells Zapier when the quote turns into a booking, so watch New Booking too if you close the loop.
When it breaks

When the Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Launch27 and lists no limit specific to it. What breaks comes from how Zaps behave in general, and a busy booking calendar shows it fast.

Read the four cases below before switching the Zap on, and check the run history whenever a booking is missing downstream. For repairs, see our Zapier troubleshooting page.

  • Existing bookings are not sent

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. Bookings, customers and quotes from before stay out, and moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A bulk change gets held back

Importing customers or editing many bookings at once makes the trigger send a huge batch, and Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
  • A filter turns the Zap paid

Reacting only to one service type or one crew needs a filter, and a filter makes the Zap multi-step. On the free plan it cannot be published.
  • Busy weeks drain the task count

Booking Updated can fire many times per job. Each action it runs costs a task, so the 100 of the free plan can run out before the month ends.

FAQ

Launch27 Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Launch27 Zapier integration free?
Yes, for simple Zaps. Launch27 is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month. The limit that is rarely spelled out is the size of the Zap: the free plan allows one trigger and one action, nothing more. As soon as you add a filter, for instance to react only to one service type, or a second action after the first, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. Check Zapier's current grid, because prices change often.
02How many tasks does it use?
Nothing for the trigger, one task per successful action after it. A booking, a customer or a quote reaching Zapier costs nothing. If the Zap then adds a row to a sheet, that row is one task; add a text to the crew and it becomes two per booking. An action that fails is not counted. Watch Booking Updated in particular: a job that is edited several times starts the Zap each time, and each run bills its actions again.
03Does it run in real time?
Yes. All nine Launch27 triggers are instant: Launch27 tells Zapier the moment a booking, a customer or a quote changes, and the Zap starts right away whatever your plan. The polling interval, 15 minutes on Free, does not apply to them. It only matters for other apps in your workflow whose triggers work by polling. In the Zapier editor, a lightning bolt on the Zap confirms that it is built on an instant trigger.
04What is needed to connect a Launch27 account?
A Launch27 account and three quick steps. Open Apps in Zapier, click + Add connection, search for Launch27 and confirm with Add connection, then sign in to Launch27 in the tab that opens and grant access. The account you connect must see every booking, customer and quote the Zap should react to, so the owner login is the safest choice. The connection is saved once and reused by all your Launch27 Zaps.
05Why does a restored booking not reappear in the calendar?
Because a cancellation and a restoration are two separate triggers in Launch27. A Zap built on Booking Cancelled removes or marks the job elsewhere, but nothing puts it back unless a second Zap listens to Booking Restored and recreates the entry. Build both together whenever you sync cancellations, and test the pair with a dummy booking. Each Zap stays at two steps, so the pair still works on the free plan.
06What if the Launch27 operation you want does not exist?
Launch27 offers nine triggers on Zapier but no action and no search, so a Zap can never create a booking, change a slot or assign a crew in Launch27. If the workflow needs Zapier to write into the booking system, the realistic options are to ask Launch27 whether actions are planned, or to compare what other automation platforms expose for it before building. For anything that only reads events, the nine triggers already cover bookings, customers and quotes.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Launch27?
It depends on criteria, not on a single winner. On Zapier, Launch27 offers nine instant triggers, works on the free plan for two-step Zaps, and connects in three steps without code, but writes nothing back. Compare which Launch27 operations each platform exposes, how each one bills a run, whether the triggers are instant there too, and who on your team will maintain the workflows once the booking volume climbs. Neither option wins in the abstract.
