Overview

What the LeadMeUp Zapier integration actually does

LeadMeUp is a marketing tool built to automate how you bring in new leads. Connecting it to Zapier lets those leads travel. A new lead in LeadMeUp can start work in another tool, and a contact captured elsewhere can land in LeadMeUp as a lead, without anyone retyping it.

Three results come out of this connection. First, a copy of every new lead somewhere else: the Neuer Lead trigger fires as each lead appears, and the next step writes it into the tool your team already reads. Second, a lead created from an outside source: Lead Erstellen builds a full lead record, and its switches decide whether emails go to the owner, whether a PDF market analysis is produced, and whether the lead joins the queue. Third, a lead brought in with its figures already set: Lead Importieren takes the lead as you give it, valuation results included, and checks nothing.

Now the honest part. Zapier offers no search for LeadMeUp, so a Zap cannot look up an existing lead before acting. There is no update action either: once a lead is in, Zapier cannot change it. And every field of both actions is marked required, including the property details (living area, rooms, year built, floors), so a source that does not carry them will stall the Zap.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One action that completes successfully is one task, and your plan is a count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it there otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a LeadMeUp Zap really costs

The trigger is free. Only actions that go through are billed, one task each, and an action that fails is not counted.

  • TriggerCosts nothing, ever
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan

LeadMeUp is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, but only two steps per Zap (one trigger, one action). Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Every action counts on its own, so a Zap with three actions uses three tasks per lead. The Neuer Lead trigger is instant, so the polling grid below never slows it down, whatever your plan.

Connect

Connect your LeadMeUp account in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your LeadMeUp account linked once, then reused by every step that touches LeadMeUp.

  2. 02

    Find LeadMeUp

Type LeadMeUp in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection. A new browser tab then opens on the LeadMeUp side, ready for you to sign in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to LeadMeUp in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. You need a LeadMeUp account, plus read or write rights on anything you do not own and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: log each new LeadMeUp lead

GoalEach new lead in LeadMeUp lands as a row in your team spreadsheet, but only when it passes your condition.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap and choose LeadMeUp as the app that starts it, with Neuer Lead as the event. Pick the connection you set up earlier.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of your account, so you map the next steps on a real lead, not on an empty shell.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then fill the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, and the value. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet step

Add your spreadsheet as the action and map the lead fields into its columns. This Zap now has three steps, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. When the row looks right, click Publish: the Zap is on, and the next new lead flows through it right away.

Triggers

LeadMeUp trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in LeadMeUp, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Neuer Lead

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when there's a new Lead. (Wird ausgelöst, wenn es einen neuen Lead gibt).”

Starts your Zap each time a new lead shows up in LeadMeUp, and hands the lead's details to the steps that follow. The label stays in German in the editor, exactly as LeadMeUp named it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
when the rest of your team works in another tool and should see each lead without opening LeadMeUp.
Watch out
do not pair it with a LeadMeUp action that creates a lead, or each run will set the Zap off again.
Actions

LeadMeUp actions

LeadMeUp gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Lead Erstellen

Action

In Zapier“Einen neuen Lead in der Marketing-Cloud erstellen”

Builds a complete new lead in LeadMeUp from what an earlier step carries: contact details plus the property data (living area, rooms, year built, floors).

When to use it
when a contact arrives from a form or a sheet and should become a lead that LeadMeUp works on itself.
Watch out
three yes/no fields are required too. Emails go to the owner, a PDF market analysis is created and the lead joins the queue only when each is set to true.
2

Lead Importieren

Action

Drops a lead into LeadMeUp as is: nothing gets checked or validated, and no property is valued. You bring the results yourself, overall and per square metre, each with its minimum and maximum.

When to use it
when the valuation already exists somewhere else and only needs to sit next to the lead.
Watch out
a wrong figure goes in unchallenged, since this action trusts every value you map.
When it breaks

When a LeadMeUp Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to LeadMeUp, so the traps below are the general ones, the kind that hit any Zap built on this app.

None of them shows up during the test. They appear later, once the Zap is live and real leads start flowing. If a Zap still misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Old leads are never picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Leads that existed before publishing stay where they are; moving them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

If a Zap started by Neuer Lead also creates a lead in LeadMeUp, each run starts the next one, and the task count drains fast.
  • A bulk import gets held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a mass import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the Zap back.
  • A required field arrives empty

Both actions require every field, property data included. If the earlier step does not carry one of them, the action cannot go through.

FAQ

LeadMeUp and Zapier: common questions

01Is the LeadMeUp Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as the Zap stays at two steps. LeadMeUp is not a premium app, so the free plan accepts it, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is the shape of the Zap: the free plan only builds one trigger followed by one action. The moment you add a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. No price is quoted here, because plan pricing changes too often to stay accurate.
02How many tasks does a LeadMeUp Zap use?
One task for each action that completes successfully, and nothing else. The Neuer Lead trigger itself never costs a task, and neither does Zapier waiting for new leads. A Zap with one action uses one task per lead. A Zap with three actions uses three per lead, because each successful action is counted on its own. An action that fails is not billed against your plan, so a broken run does not eat your monthly allowance.
03Does LeadMeUp send new leads to Zapier in real time?
Yes. Neuer Lead is an instant trigger: LeadMeUp tells Zapier the moment a lead appears, and the Zap starts right away. The polling interval that depends on your plan, every 15 minutes on the free one, does not apply to it. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. This is the main reason the free plan works well here: you get immediate runs without paying for a faster check interval.
04What do you need to connect LeadMeUp to Zapier?
A LeadMeUp account, and read or write rights on any data you do not own but want the Zap to use. The connection itself happens from the Apps page of your Zapier account: add a connection, search LeadMeUp, sign in to it in the tab that opens, then grant Zapier access. Once done, every step that uses LeadMeUp reuses that same connection, so you only do it once per account.
05Why does Lead Erstellen keep asking for property details?
Because every one of its fields is marked required, property data included. Living area, rooms, year built and floors sit next to the usual contact fields, along with three yes/no switches: sending emails to the owner, creating a PDF market analysis, and adding the lead to the queue. If the step before it does not carry one of these values, the action cannot run. Check your source before building, not after the first failed run.
06What if the LeadMeUp operation you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do it for this app today. The list is short: one trigger for new leads, one action that creates a lead, one that imports a lead with its figures. There is no search to find an existing lead and no action to update or delete one. Zapier shows only what LeadMeUp has published, and an option missing from the editor cannot be added from your side, whatever your plan.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for LeadMeUp?
It depends on your criteria, not on a winner. On Zapier, LeadMeUp offers an instant trigger and two lead actions, and it runs on the free plan as long as the Zap stays at two steps. The deciding points are elsewhere: how many runs you expect each month, whether you need conditions and branches, who will maintain the flows, and whether self-hosting matters to you. Compare those criteria against your own setup before choosing.
