What the Leadport Zapier integration actually does
Leadport helps a sales team call leads fast, keep up with follow-ups and log every interaction, call data included. On Zapier it works in one direction only: another app starts the Zap, and Leadport receives the lead as a GMC (Golden Moment Call) lead, ready to be called.
Three results you can build around the single action, Create GMC (Golden Moment Call) Lead:
A call queue that fills itself. Each new lead from your lead source turns into a GMC lead with its phone number, first name and surname, so nobody has to type it into Leadport.
One configuration per source. Because every Zap points at a GMC configuration, leads from two different sources can land under two different setups, one Zap each.
A sorted entry. With a filter between the trigger and the action, only leads whose field matches the value you set get created; the others never reach Leadport. That version needs a paid plan, more below.
Here is what the Zapier app page leaves out. Leadport has no trigger, so a Zap can never start from something that happens in Leadport, such as a finished call. It has no search, so it cannot check whether a lead already exists before creating it. If you are still choosing a tool, see our Make vs Zapier comparison and our Zapier review.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words you will meet in the editor. The rest of the page uses each one exactly as defined here.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. With Leadport, it lives in another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. Here, creating a GMC lead.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Instant vs polling trigger
- An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens. A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer instead.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Leadport account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step and every Zap that uses Leadport.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Leadport Zap costs you
Leadport is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The trigger in the other app costs nothing; each GMC lead Leadport creates is one task.
- Trigger (other app)Free, never counted
- Each GMC lead created1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
A task is counted only when the action goes through: a creation that fails is not counted. A Zap with three actions uses three times more than one with a single action. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps, which fits exactly one trigger plus Create GMC (Golden Moment Call) Lead. A filter turns it into a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan. How fast the lead arrives depends on the trigger app: if it polls, the grid below applies.
Connect Leadport to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. Type Leadport in the search box of the dialog that opens, then pick it from the list.
- 02
Sign in to Leadport
Click Add connection. A tab opens on Leadport: sign in with the account where your sales team works its calls. You need an account on the app for this step.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to reach the account. The connection then shows on your Apps page, and every Zap that writes to Leadport reuses it, so you go through this only once.
Your first Leadport Zap
GoalEvery new lead from your lead source becomes a GMC lead in Leadport.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Create a Zap and choose the app where your leads come in, with its new-lead event. Leadport has no trigger, so the Zap always starts in another app.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of that account, so you can pick a real lead whose phone number and name you will map later.
- 03
Add a filter if needed
Optional. From the plus icon, add a Filter and set the field to look at, the rule and the value. The Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the Leadport action
Choose Leadport and Create GMC (Golden Moment Call) Lead. Pick the GMC configuration, then map Phone, Name and Surname from the sample lead. Test the step.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each new lead in the source app reaches Leadport. Leads that came in before are not sent.
The Leadport action
Leadport gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

When a Leadport Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article and no app-specific limit to Leadport. What goes wrong comes from the way Zapier itself works.
Four situations explain most surprises with an app that only receives leads. None of them is specific to Leadport: they come from the trigger side or from your plan. If a Zap still misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Older leads never reach Leadport
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Leads your source collected before stay where they are; moving them is a separate job.A sudden batch gets held back
When the trigger returns a huge batch at once, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of creating every lead. The filter never passes
Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. The wrong type is why a filter never lets a lead through. The Zap outgrows the free plan
On the free plan a Zap stops at one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action turns it into a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
