Overview

What the LeagueApps Zapier integration really covers

LeagueApps is sports management software for organizers, coaches, parents and athletes. Through Zapier, its events can start work in your other tools with no code. You build a Zap (an automation: one starting event, then the steps that follow) and it runs each time that event shows up in LeagueApps.

Three results come up most. A registration log outside LeagueApps: New Registration passes every program sign-up to a spreadsheet, so the numbers are visible to people without a LeagueApps login. Announcements that reach further: New Site Announcement picks up each message posted to your whole site and relays it to a team chat or a mailing tool. A mailing list that stays clean: New Member brings in new members, and Updated Member Email flags address changes so the list follows.

Now what Zapier does not do here. There are no LeagueApps actions at all: a Zap can read from LeagueApps but never create, update or delete anything in it. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot look up a member or a team on its own. All seven triggers are polling, which means a delay, 15 minutes on the free plan. And nothing that happened before the Zap went live is picked up.

If writing back into LeagueApps is part of the plan, see our n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, explained once

Seven terms come back on this page. Each one in a plain line.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. With LeagueApps, every Zap starts on one of its seven triggers.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something. With LeagueApps, actions live in your other tools.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's quota is counted in tasks.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it there otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a LeagueApps Zap costs you

LeagueApps only provides triggers, and triggers never cost a task. The bill comes from the actions you run in other apps after them.

  • LeagueApps triggers0 tasks
  • Each successful action elsewhere1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
  • Paid plan neededNo, unless you add a filter or a second action

Zapier's regular checks of LeagueApps are free, however often they run. Each action that completes in the next app counts as one task; a failed action does not count. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps, one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is needed. Since all seven triggers are polling, the grid below sets how long a new registration or member can wait before your Zap sees it.

Connect

Connect your LeagueApps account in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a LeagueApps account first, with access to the site data you do not own yourself but want the Zap to read.

  2. 02

    Find LeagueApps

Type LeagueApps in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the LeagueApps side, where you sign in to your account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to LeagueApps in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection then shows in your list, and every LeagueApps trigger in every Zap reuses it.

First Zap

Your first LeagueApps Zap

GoalLog each new program registration in a spreadsheet, only for the registrations that pass your condition.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Create a Zap, choose LeagueApps and New Registration. It is a polling trigger, so Zapier checks for new sign-ups on the interval of your plan.

  2. 02

    Test on real registrations

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent registrations of the connected account, so you see which fields LeagueApps really sends.

  3. 03

    Add a filter

From the plus icon, add Filter and set its three boxes: the field, the rule, the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet row

Pick your spreadsheet tool and the event that adds a row. Map the registration details from the trigger into the columns you want to follow.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the row step once and check the line it wrote. If it reads right, click Publish to switch the Zap on for every new registration.

Triggers

The 7 LeagueApps triggers

7 events start a Zap when something happens in LeagueApps. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Site Announcement

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new announcement has been posted to everyone on your site.”

Starts your Zap when an announcement goes out to everyone on your LeagueApps site, and hands its content to the next steps. One post in LeagueApps can then travel to channels people actually read.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
site-wide news should also land in a team chat or a mailing tool without being posted twice.
Watch out
announcements posted before the Zap goes live are never relayed.
2

New Completed Team

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a team is set to "Completed".”

Reacts when a team in a given program is switched to Completed, the status that says the roster is done. It is the moment to tell coaches or update a planning sheet.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
a finished team should trigger a heads-up to whoever schedules the season.
Watch out
the Program field is required, so one Zap watches one program; another program needs its own Zap.
3

New Member

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new member is created.”

Fires each time a new member is created in LeagueApps and passes their details along. It is the cleanest way to get every new parent or athlete into a contact list kept elsewhere.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
new members should be added to your mailing tool the same day.
Watch out
the trigger has a Member Opted in to Newsletter? setting; check how it is set before feeding a mailing list.
4

New Program

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new program is created.”

Catches each new program created in LeagueApps, so the rest of your tools learn about it as soon as it exists on the site, without anyone copying it over.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
a new program should create an entry in a shared calendar or a planning sheet.
Watch out
programs created before you publish the Zap stay out; the Zap only sees new ones.
5

New Registration

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new program registration occurs.”

Passes on every new program registration made in LeagueApps. Most useful setups on this app start here, because sign-ups are what organizers track the most closely.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
you want a running list of registrations visible to people outside LeagueApps.
Watch out
Zapier remembers what it has seen, so the same registration never starts the Zap twice.
6

New Team

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new team is added to a program.”

Starts the Zap when a team is added to a program you pick. Unlike New Completed Team, it fires at creation, before the roster is final.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
you want to know a team exists as soon as it is created, without waiting for it to reach Completed.
Watch out
Program is a required field here too, so pick the right program before testing.
7

Updated Member Email

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a member's email address is updated.”

Watches for a member's email address changing in LeagueApps, so the copies of that address in your other tools do not go stale.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
your mailing list should follow every address change without a manual export.
Watch out
the required Mode field asks which field the trigger should watch; set it before the test.
When it breaks

When a LeagueApps Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to LeagueApps and documents no limit specific to it. What breaks comes from the way Zapier handles polling triggers.

Four cases explain most surprises. Read them before publishing; when one hits anyway, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Past registrations never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. Members, teams and registrations already in LeagueApps stay out; moving them is a separate job.
  • A slow start on the free plan

All seven triggers are polling. On the free plan, Zapier checks every 15 minutes, so a gap between a sign-up and the Zap is expected, not a fault.
  • A big batch gets held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.
  • A trigger stuck on setup

New Team and New Completed Team need a Program, Updated Member Email needs a Mode. Leave one empty and the trigger cannot be tested or published.

FAQ

LeagueApps and Zapier: common questions

01Is the LeagueApps Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as each Zap stays at two steps. LeagueApps is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. Each Zap there is one trigger and one action, nothing more. Logging every New Registration in a spreadsheet fits. Add a filter, for example to keep only some registrations, or a second action, and the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. The LeagueApps side of the bill is not covered by Zapier's pages.
02How many tasks does a LeagueApps Zap use?
Only the actions in your other apps count, one task each. LeagueApps offers triggers only, and triggers never cost a task, nor do Zapier's regular checks. So a Zap that adds a spreadsheet row for each registration uses one task per registration. If it also posts a chat message, that is two. A failed action is not counted. To estimate a month, multiply expected registrations, members or teams by the actions in the Zap.
03Do LeagueApps triggers work in real time?
No. All seven LeagueApps triggers are polling: Zapier asks LeagueApps for new items on a timer. The free plan checks every 15 minutes, Professional every 2 minutes, Team and Enterprise every minute. On paid plans you can also change the interval and run a check by hand from the editor. The trigger type is decided by the app itself, so there is no setting in Zapier that makes them instant.
04What do you need to connect LeagueApps to Zapier?
A LeagueApps account and a Zapier account. In Zapier, open Apps, click + Add connection, search for LeagueApps and confirm with Add connection. Sign in to LeagueApps in the tab that opens and grant access. If the Zap must read data you do not own yourself, your account needs access to it. For the team triggers, your account must also see at least one program, since Program is a required field.
05Why can't a Zap update anything in LeagueApps?
Because Zapier offers no LeagueApps action. The integration has seven triggers and zero actions, so data only flows out of LeagueApps. A Zap can copy registrations, members or announcements into other tools, but it cannot create a member, change a team or post an announcement in LeagueApps. Any change there still happens inside LeagueApps itself. Plan your flows one way: LeagueApps as the source, your other tools as destinations, and keep edits inside LeagueApps.
06What if the LeagueApps operation you want is missing?
Then Zapier does not offer it today. The editor lists seven LeagueApps triggers, as read on 2026-10-06, with no action and no search. There is no instant trigger and no way to write into LeagueApps. A missing operation cannot be unlocked from Zapier's editor. The choices are to work with these seven events as starting points, or to look at another automation tool for the part that needs to write or search.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for LeagueApps?
Decide on criteria, not on a winner. Zapier gives a ready LeagueApps connection with seven triggers and free two-step Zaps, which suits copying registrations or members elsewhere. If you need data faster than every 15 minutes, compare Zapier's paid plans with other tools. If you need to write back into LeagueApps, check whether each tool offers that at all. Speed of the triggers, direction of the data and budget are the three criteria.
