Leal Zapier integrationAutomate Leal with Zapier.

The Leal Zapier integration gives you 3 triggers, 2 actions and 1 search. All three triggers are instant, so new customers, stamps and redeemed rewards reach your other tools as they happen. Leal is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan.

Overview

What the Leal Zapier integration does for your store

Leal is a digital loyalty platform: retail stores use it to run mobile reward cards that bring customers back. Linked to Zapier, its loyalty events can drive your other tools, and other tools can feed it, without code. You build a Zap (an automation: one starting event, then the steps that follow) and it runs on every event.

Three results come up most. A team that knows when a reward is used: Reward Redeemed fires the moment a customer claims one, and a message lands in your team chat. Customers enrolled from elsewhere: Create Customer adds them to your Leal store and, with Send Card Links switched on, sends the link to put the card in their wallet. Stamps that follow purchases made in another system: Find Customer locates the right person, for example by a Square Customer ID already linked, and Add Stamps credits the card.

What Zapier does not do here matters too. There is no action to redeem a reward, remove stamps or delete a customer. No trigger reacts to a customer being edited. And events from before the Zap was switched on are never picked up: moving that history is a separate job.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words keep coming back. Here is each one, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or changes something in an app for you.
Task
What Zapier bills: one action your Zap completed successfully. Your plan's quota is counted in tasks.
Instant vs polling
An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens. A polling one is checked by Zapier on a timer set by your plan.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists in an app, so the steps after it can reuse what it found.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter, a search or a second action makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What Leal Zaps cost in tasks

Zapier bills completed actions only. None of the three Leal triggers costs a task, however many customers sign up or stamps get earned.

  • Triggers0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
  • Paid plan neededNo, unless you add a search or filter

Each Add Stamps or Create Customer that goes through counts as one task; a failed one does not. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a Find Customer search makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The grid below only applies to polling triggers. All Leal triggers are instant, so they fire straight away on every plan.

Connect

Connect your Leal account in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Leal account first, plus access to any store data you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Pick Leal

Type Leal in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Leal side, where you sign in to your store account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to Leal in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection then appears in your list, and every Leal step of every Zap you build reuses it.

First Zap

Your first Leal Zap

GoalTell your team in its chat each time a customer redeems a reward, only for the rewards that pass your condition.

  1. 01

    Set the trigger

Create a Zap, choose Leal and Reward Redeemed. It is an instant trigger, so the Zap will start the moment a reward is claimed, with no interval.

  2. 02

    Test on real redemptions

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent redemptions of the connected account, so you map fields from real data instead of a blank template.

  3. 03

    Add a filter

From the plus icon, add Filter and set its three boxes: the field, the rule, the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Write the message

Pick your team chat tool and the event that sends a message. Insert the customer and reward details coming from the trigger.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the message step once and read what was posted. If it is clear, click Publish to switch the Zap on for every redemption.

Triggers

The 3 Leal triggers

3 events start a Zap when something happens in Leal, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Customer

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new customer is created in your store.”

Starts your Zap each time a customer is created in your Leal store and passes their details on. It is the entry point for copying loyalty members into a mailing tool or a sheet.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
every new loyalty member should land in your mailing list as soon as they join.
Watch out
pairing it with Create Customer on the same store can set off a loop of new customers.
2

Reward Redeemed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer redeems a reward.”

Fires when a customer claims a reward from their Leal card. That is the moment loyalty turns into a real visit, and the one your team most often wants to hear about.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
staff should see each redemption in a team chat, or you track them in a sheet.
Watch out
redemptions from before the Zap was published are never sent.
3

Stamp Earned

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer earns a stamp.”

Reacts every time a customer earns a stamp on a Leal card. It gives you a live feed of loyalty activity, stamp by stamp, outside the Leal dashboard.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
you log each stamp in a sheet to follow how often customers come back.
Watch out
a Zap that starts here and runs Add Stamps will credit itself again and again.
Actions

The 2 Leal actions

Leal gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add Stamps

Action

In Zapier“Adds stamps to a customer in your store.”

Credits stamps to a customer on the loyalty card you choose, in the quantity you set, so purchases recorded elsewhere still count toward a reward.

When to use it
a sale logged in another system should earn the matching stamps in Leal.
Watch out
customer, loyalty card and number of stamps are all required; the customer can be picked or searched by name, email or phone.
2

Create Customer

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new customer in your store.”

Adds a new customer to your Leal store from data another app collected. Only the first name is required, which makes enrolment easy from almost any source.

When to use it
people who sign up elsewhere should get a loyalty card without visiting the counter.
Watch out
switch on Send Card Links to send the customer the wallet link; the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet URLs also come back for your own use.
Searches

The Leal search

1 search step looks for data that already exists in Leal, so a later step can use it.

A search step finds a customer who already exists, so later steps can act on them. In the editor, it sits at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not clean.

1

Find Customer

Search

In Zapier“Looks up a customer in your store. You can either provide a free-text Search Query (matches name, email, phone, or barcode) OR an External System + External ID pair (matches a customer previously linked to that external platform, e.g. their Square Customer ID).”

Looks up a customer in your Leal store in one of two ways: a free-text query matched against name, email, phone or barcode, or an external system paired with its ID, such as a Square Customer ID already linked.

When to use it
a Zap starts in another tool and needs the Leal customer before Add Stamps.
Watch out
use one method or the other, not both in the same search.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
On its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and skips the steps that depended on it. Switched on, the Zap goes on empty-handed.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
On apps that offer it, this box turns a search into find-or-create. Leal offers no such variant, so Find Customer never creates anyone.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three options when several customers match: keep the first one, the default, stop the Zap, or pass them all on at once.
When it breaks

When a Leal Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Leal and documents no limit specific to it. The failures below come from Leal's required fields and from how Zapier works.

Four cases explain most surprises. Go through them before you publish, then keep the Zapier troubleshooting guide nearby.

  • A Zap that stamps itself

Stamp Earned as trigger and Add Stamps as action on the same store: each stamp added starts the Zap again, and the task count drains fast.
  • Older customers never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. Customers, stamps and rewards already in Leal stay out; moving them is a separate job.
  • Add Stamps stops at setup

Customer, loyalty card and number of stamps are required. Leave one unmapped and the action cannot run; the failed step costs no task.
  • A bulk import gets held back

When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import of customers or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.

FAQ

Leal and Zapier: common questions

01Is the Leal Zapier integration free?
Yes, for two-step Zaps. Leal is not a premium app, so the free plan covers it, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The limit people discover late is the two-step ceiling: one trigger, one action. A chat message for each Reward Redeemed fits. A filter, a Find Customer search or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. What Leal charges for its own service is not covered by Zapier's pages.
02How many tasks does a Leal Zap use?
One per action that succeeds, and none for the trigger. New Customer, Reward Redeemed and Stamp Earned are free to run. Each Add Stamps or Create Customer that completes counts as one task, and so does the chat message or row you send elsewhere. A Zap with two actions counts both on every run. A failed action is not counted. Multiply your expected redemptions or sign-ups by the number of actions to size your plan.
03Do Leal triggers work in real time?
Yes, all three are instant. Leal tells Zapier the moment a customer is created, a stamp is earned or a reward is redeemed, and the Zap starts right away. The plan interval, 15 minutes on the free plan, does not apply. In the editor, these Zaps show a lightning bolt. For anyone on the free plan, that is the main point: speed is the same whatever you pay, so staff hear about a redemption as it happens.
04What do you need to connect Leal to Zapier?
A Leal account and a Zapier account. Open Apps in Zapier, click + Add connection, search for Leal and confirm with Add connection, then sign in to Leal in the new tab and grant access. If the Zap must act on data you do not own yourself, your account needs read or write access to it. For Add Stamps, your store also needs at least one loyalty card, since Loyalty Card is a required field.
05Why does a Leal Zap keep adding stamps on its own?
Because it probably writes where its own trigger watches. If a Zap starts on Stamp Earned and runs Add Stamps on the same store, each stamp it adds is a new Stamp Earned event, which starts the Zap again. The same can happen with New Customer and Create Customer. The loop burns tasks fast. Start such Zaps from the tool where the sale is recorded instead, and keep Leal as the destination.
06What if the Leal operation you want is missing?
Then Zapier does not offer it today. The editor lists three triggers, two actions and one search for Leal, as read on 2026-10-06. There is no action to redeem a reward, remove stamps or delete a customer, and no trigger for an edited customer. No setting in the editor unlocks an operation that is not there. The options are to shape the flow around these six operations or to check another automation tool for the missing step.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Leal?
Choose by criteria, not by a ranking. Zapier offers a ready Leal connection with three instant triggers, two actions and a search, and two-step Zaps run free. A redemption alert fits that easily. If your flow chains Find Customer and Add Stamps, it becomes multi-step and paid on Zapier, so weigh that against the setup effort elsewhere. Also check that each tool reaches Leal at all. Budget, steps per flow and available operations are the criteria.
