Overview

What the Lev Zapier integration does

The Lev Zapier integration links Lev, the platform where commercial real estate sponsors and brokers work their deals with lenders, to the rest of your tools. Events on deals, placements and term sheets leave Lev the moment they happen; in the other direction, your tools can open a deal, add a note or record a lender contact in Lev.

Three results you can build. A placement log: Launched Placement fires when a placement goes out to a lender, and a spreadsheet row records it without anyone retyping. A term sheet alert: New Term Sheet fires on each upload, so the people who need to read it hear about it at once. A deal intake: Create Deal opens a deal in Lev from another tool, and Create Deal Note keeps adding plain-text notes to it as things move.

Here is the good news for a Free plan: all nine Lev triggers are instant, which means Lev tells Zapier itself and the plan's checking interval never slows them down.

What Zapier does not do here. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up a deal by name to find its Lev ID; that ID has to come from an earlier step. Nothing deletes or closes a deal from Zapier. And no help article or rate limit is published for Lev on Zapier.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight editor terms in plain words, with what each one means for Lev.

Zap
An automation built on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event shows up.
Trigger
The event in an app that sets a Zap off. Lev has nine, from a new deal to an updated term sheet.
Action
The work the Zap does once started. In Lev, that means creating a deal, a deal note or a lender contact.
Task
What Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. Your plan's monthly allowance is counted in tasks.
Polling vs instant
Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app alerts Zapier the moment the event happens. Lev is all instant.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and halts it otherwise.
Search step
A step that finds something already stored in an app so later steps can use it. Lev offers none on Zapier.
Connection
Your Lev account, linked to Zapier once and then reused by every Lev step in all your Zaps.
Cost

What a Lev Zap really costs

Lev is not a premium app, so it runs on the Free plan, and its instant triggers work at full speed there.

  • Lev on the Free planYes, not a premium app
  • Tasks on the Free plan100 per month
  • Zap size on the Free plan2 steps
  • Instant Lev triggers9 of 9

A Lev trigger never costs a task. Each action that succeeds, in Lev or in another app, counts as one; a failed one is not counted. The Free plan gives 100 tasks a month but only two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap turns multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to polling triggers only, so it never touches the nine Lev triggers.

Connect

Connect Lev to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

Start with a Lev account, the one that holds the deals, placements and term sheets the Zap will follow. In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account, then click + Add connection.

  2. 02

    Pick Lev

A dialog opens with a search box. Type Lev, select it in the results and confirm with Add connection. A new tab opens for the Lev side of the link; keep the Zapier tab open next to it.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Lev in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. If the Zap should touch deals you do not own, you also need read or write access on them in Lev.

First Zap

Your first Lev Zap: log every launched placement

GoalEach placement launched to a lender in Lev adds a row to your spreadsheet, but only when it passes a filter you set.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Create a Zap, choose Lev and the Launched Placement event, then select your Lev connection. The trigger is instant, so nothing waits on a timer.

  2. 02

    Test on real data

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent launched placements of the account, so you build the next steps on a real one.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Match the rule to the field type, or the filter never passes.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet row

Add your spreadsheet app with its add-row action and map each column from the placement data. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step and check the new row before going further. Then click Publish. Placements launched before that moment are not picked up.

Triggers

The 9 Lev triggers on Zapier

9 events start a Zap when something happens in Lev, and 9 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Deal

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new deal is created.”

Starts your Zap as soon as someone creates a deal in Lev, so the rest of your tools know about it from day one instead of when somebody remembers to copy it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to open a matching record elsewhere, or to add a first note to the deal with Create Deal Note.
Watch out
deals that existed before the Zap was published never fire it; only new ones do.
2

New Deal Note

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new note is added to a deal.”

Reacts each time a note lands on a deal, which turns the running commentary inside Lev into something your other tools can read and act on.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to copy deal notes into a shared log or a channel the whole team reads.
Watch out
never pair it with Create Deal Note on the same deal, or each note the Zap writes sets the Zap off again.
3

Updated Deal

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an existing deal is updated.”

Fires when an existing deal changes, which is the hook for keeping a copy of the deal elsewhere in step with what Lev holds.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to update a mirrored record in another tool whenever the deal moves.
Watch out
to act on only some updates, put a filter right after the trigger; the Zap then turns multi-step and needs a paid plan.
4

Launched Placement

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a placement is launched to a lender.”

Goes off the moment a placement is launched to a lender, the point where a deal actually starts travelling outside your team.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to keep a running record of which placements went out, or to warn the people who follow up with lenders.
Watch out
it covers launches only; a placement that is just created or edited uses its own trigger.
5

New Placement

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new placement is created.”

Picks up a placement as soon as it is created in Lev, before any launch, so preparation work can begin elsewhere in parallel.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to open a checklist or a task in another tool for each placement being prepared.
Watch out
creation and launch are two separate events, so a Zap on this trigger does not tell you the placement has gone out.
6

Updated Placement

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an existing placement is updated.”

Kicks in whenever an existing placement is edited, which keeps any copy of that placement outside Lev from drifting out of date.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to refresh the row or record you keep for each placement in another tool.
Watch out
launching a placement has its own trigger, Launched Placement, so a Zap on this one is not the way to learn that a placement went out.
7

New or Updated or Deleted Resource

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a resource is created, updated, or deleted.”

One trigger for three moments: a resource in Lev being created, updated or deleted. It is the broadest of the nine, useful when a single Zap should hear about every change.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to keep a full change log in another tool without building three separate Zaps.
Watch out
since it mixes creations, updates and deletions, test it on each case before you map anything.
8

New Term Sheet

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new term sheet is uploaded.”

Fires each time a term sheet is uploaded to Lev, often the moment a deal gets concrete and someone needs to read it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to alert the people reviewing term sheets, through the chat or email tool they already watch.
Watch out
only uploads made after the Zap is published fire it; earlier term sheets stay silent.
9

Updated Term Sheet

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an existing term sheet is updated.”

Responds when a term sheet already in Lev is changed, so a revised version never slips by unnoticed.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
to tell the reviewers that a term sheet they already read has moved.
Watch out
a Zap starts on a single trigger, so following both new and revised term sheets takes two Zaps, one of them on New Term Sheet.
Actions

The 3 Lev actions on Zapier

Lev gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Connected Lender Contact

Action

In Zapier“Creates a connected lender contact relationship.”

Records a lender contact as connected in Lev, building the relationship from another tool rather than by hand in Lev.

When to use it
a lender contact arrives through a form or another app and should show up in Lev as connected.
Watch out
run the step test once and read what Lev returns before publishing.
2

Create Deal Note

Action

In Zapier“Creates a note for a Deal.”

Adds a plain-text note to a deal, so updates written somewhere else end up on the deal itself.

When to use it
a message, a form answer or a status from another tool belongs on a Lev deal.
Watch out
Deal ID and Deal Note Text are required, and with no search on Lev the ID must come from an earlier step.
3

Create Deal

Action

In Zapier“Creates a deal in Lev's CRE Hub.”

Opens a new deal in Lev's CRE Hub straight from another tool, so a deal starts its life in Lev without retyping.

When to use it
new opportunities are first captured in a form, a sheet or another CRM.
Watch out
a Zap that creates deals and also listens to New Deal will hear its own deals; keep the two apart.
When it breaks

When a Lev Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article and no rate limit to Lev, so the traps below are Zapier's own. With nine triggers and three actions writing into the same deals, one of them matters more than usual.

The loop is the one to watch on Lev. If a Zap misbehaves anyway, keep the Zapier troubleshooting guide at hand.

  • Past deals are not picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Deals, placements and term sheets that already existed never fire it, and moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • The note that triggers a note

A Zap on New Deal Note that runs Create Deal Note on the same deal writes where its own trigger listens, fires again and again, and eats your task count fast.
  • A bulk import held back

A trigger that suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration into Lev, can be held back by Zapier's flood protection.

FAQ

Lev and Zapier: common questions

01Is the Lev Zapier integration free?
On the Zapier side, yes: Lev is not a premium app, so it runs on the Free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps, one trigger and one action. A New Deal trigger followed by Create Deal Note fits inside that. As soon as you add a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. The nine Lev triggers stay instant on every plan, Free included, so the cheapest plan loses no speed on them.
02How many tasks does a Lev Zap use?
One per action that succeeds, whatever app it runs in. The Lev trigger itself costs nothing, so a deal or a term sheet arriving in Zapier is free. A Zap that adds a spreadsheet row for each launched placement uses one task per placement; add a second action and it uses two. A failed action is not counted. The expensive mistake is a loop, such as New Deal Note feeding Create Deal Note on the same deal, which spends a task on every lap.
03Are Lev triggers real time on Zapier?
Yes. All nine Lev triggers are instant: Lev tells Zapier the moment the event happens, and the Zap starts right away whatever your plan. The plan intervals (15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise) only apply to polling triggers, and Lev has none. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. The actions then run in order, so a Zap with several steps finishes once its last step has run.
04What does connecting Lev to Zapier require?
A Lev account and the Zapier account you link it to. From the Apps page in Zapier, you add a connection, search for Lev, sign in to Lev in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. If the Zap should touch deals you do not own yourself, you also need read or write access on them in Lev. Once linked, the connection is reused by every Lev trigger and action in your Zaps, so you only go through this once.
05Why does a Lev Zap keep firing on its own notes?
Because it writes where its own trigger listens. A Zap on New Deal Note that runs Create Deal Note on the same deal creates a note, which is a new deal note, which fires the Zap again. The same risk exists between Create Deal and New Deal. Keep the trigger and the write on different things: a note Zap that writes into another tool, or a Zap that writes notes but starts on another event. Each lap costs a task, so stop such a Zap quickly.
06What if the Lev operation required is not on Zapier?
Then it is not available through Zapier today. Lev exposes nine triggers and three actions there, Create Connected Lender Contact, Create Deal Note and Create Deal, and no search: nothing finds a deal by name, closes it or deletes it from a Zap. Anything outside that list stays in Lev itself. The workable routes are to do that part in Lev directly, or to check whether another automation platform offers it before building around the gap.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Lev?
Pick on criteria, not on a ranking. First, which Lev operations each platform offers: on Zapier that is nine instant triggers, three actions and no search. Second, how usage is billed: Zapier counts one task per successful action, never the trigger, and the Free plan stops at two steps. Third, who will maintain the flows and which editor that person handles comfortably. Put those three next to your own deal volume and the right fit usually stands out.
