Local Reviews Zapier integrationAutomate Local Reviews with Zapier.
The Local Reviews Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 2 actions and 0 searches. It works in one direction: another app starts the Zap, and Local Reviews sends your customer a review invitation by email or by text message.

What the Local Reviews Zapier integration actually does
It lets another app ask Local Reviews to invite a customer to leave a review. A Zap (the automation you build on Zapier) starts on an event elsewhere, then Local Reviews sends the invitation by email or by text, with the message you wrote. Nothing comes back the other way.
Email invitations that go out on their own. Send Email Review Invitation takes a customer email address from the app that started the Zap and sends your invitation message to it. Nobody has to copy addresses by hand.
Text invitations when you have a phone number. Send Text Review Invitation does the same with a texting phone number. The message field is the same idea: what the customer reads, with your review link inside.
Both channels from one event. Put the two actions one after the other in the same Zap and a single event sends an email and a text. That is a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan, and each successful invitation counts as a task.
What Zapier does not do with Local Reviews: there is no trigger, so a new review or a new rating can never start a Zap. There is no search either, and nothing to read back from Local Reviews. The integration only sends invitations. This site has no Local Reviews page for Make or n8n; see our Make vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on this page. Here they are once, in plain language.
- Zap
- The automation itself: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap. With Local Reviews, it always comes from another app, such as a new row in a sheet.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that sends or writes something, here a review invitation.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan counts these and nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer; an instant one is reported by its app at once. It depends on the app that starts your Zap.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Local Reviews Zap really costs
Local Reviews is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan, within that plan's two-step limit.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Free plan limitTwo steps: one trigger, one action
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Local Reviews triggersNone, the Zap starts elsewhere
The trigger in the other app never costs a task, however often Zapier checks it. Each invitation that goes through counts as one task, and one that fails is not counted. Sending an email and a text for the same customer is two tasks, and a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan. Since Local Reviews has no trigger, the interval grid below applies to the polling trigger of the app that starts the Zap, if it polls, and never to Local Reviews itself.
Connect Local Reviews to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Local Reviews account first, plus access to anything you do not own yourself but want the Zap to use.
- 02
Pick Local Reviews
Type Local Reviews in the search box of the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Local Reviews side so you can sign in there.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Local Reviews in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection (your account, linked once) then shows on your Apps page, and every Local Reviews step reuses it.
Your first Zap: invite the right customers by email
GoalEach new row in your spreadsheet goes through a filter, and the customers who pass receive a review invitation by email.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap and choose your spreadsheet app with its new-row event. The trigger belongs to that app: Local Reviews only comes in afterwards, as the action.
- 02
Test it on a real row
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows of the connected account, so you map the next steps on real data rather than placeholders.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter and set its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule and the value. A text rule only works on text.
- 04
Add the invitation
Choose Local Reviews and Send Email Review Invitation. Map the email column into the recipient field and write the message, review link included. Test the step once.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. The filter makes it multi-step, so a paid plan is required. Each invitation sent costs one task.
The 2 Local Reviews actions, grouped by what they do
Local Reviews gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Send Email Review Invitation
ActionIn Zapier“Sends a review invitation via email to your customers.”
Sends one of your customers an invitation to leave a review, by email. You give it the customer's address and the message they will read, and Local Reviews handles the sending.
Send Text Review Invitation
ActionIn Zapier“Sends a review invitation via text to your customers.”
The text-message twin of the email action: it sends the review invitation to a customer's texting phone number, with the message you wrote.
When a Local Reviews Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Local Reviews, and the source gives no app-specific limit. The surprises come from how Zapier itself works.
Three situations account for most of them. If one hits you, see our Zapier troubleshooting page.
Past customers are never invited
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Customers already in your sheet before that receive nothing; inviting them is a separate job.A big import is held back
Pasting a large batch of rows at once can trip Zapier's flood protection, which holds those items back instead of firing them all.The same customer invited twice
On a polling trigger Zapier remembers what it has seen, so one row does not fire twice. A customer added again as a new row, though, is new to Zapier and gets a second invitation.
