Overview

What the LoyJoy Zapier integration actually does

LoyJoy is a chat platform driven by conversational AI, which companies use to run customer service, sales and marketing conversations on autopilot. On Zapier it exposes one exit point: you drop a Zapier Process Module into a chat flow, and every conversation that passes through it can start an automation in another tool.

A lead sheet that fills itself. A sales chat reaches the module once the visitor is done. The Zapier Process Module trigger starts the Zap, which adds a row to the spreadsheet your sales team already reads, filled from what the conversation carried. Nobody copies a conversation by hand.

A support hand-off nobody misses. Some service conversations need a person. Place a second module at the point where the bot gives up, and a separate Zap can post the case to your team chat so a person picks it up.

Marketing answers routed to the right list. A campaign chat can end on its own module, so its Zap only ever sees that campaign. What it carries goes to your email tool and nowhere else.

Now the limits. The link goes one way only: Zapier offers no action and no search for LoyJoy. A Zap cannot write back into a conversation, change anything in LoyJoy or look something up there. Every Zap starts in the chat and ends elsewhere. If you are weighing other automation tools for this kind of flow, see our n8n vs Zapier page.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back across this page. Here they are once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. With LoyJoy, it is a conversation passing through your Zapier module.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something, here always in another app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan is a count of those, nothing else.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens. Nothing waits for a scheduled check.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval. LoyJoy has none of these.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Cost

What a LoyJoy Zap really costs

LoyJoy is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works from the free plan. The trigger itself never costs a task.

  • Premium appNo, available on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Trigger costZero tasks per conversation
  • Actions or searches in LoyJoyNone, the Zap always writes elsewhere

A conversation reaching your module is free. What Zapier counts is each action that succeeds in the other app: one task each, and a failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps, one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action turns the Zap into a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is how often Zapier checks polling triggers; it does not apply to LoyJoy, whose only trigger is instant.

Connect

Connect your LoyJoy account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open Apps in Zapier

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your LoyJoy account linked once, then reused by every Zap that listens to it.

  2. 02

    Find LoyJoy and add it

Type LoyJoy in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need a LoyJoy account of your own, with access to the chat flows the Zap should listen to.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to LoyJoy in the tab that opens and let Zapier use the account. If a colleague built the chat flows, make sure your login can reach them, or the Zap will have nothing to listen to.

First Zap

Your first Zap: chat leads into a spreadsheet

GoalEach time a sales conversation reaches your Zapier module, add a row to your lead sheet, then post a heads-up to the sales team.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

In a new Zap, choose LoyJoy as the app and Zapier Process Module as the event, then select your LoyJoy connection. This is the build step on the starting side.

  2. 02

    Choose the module

In the required Process Module field, pick the module that closes your sales flow. Only conversations passing through that module will start this Zap.

  3. 03

    Test with a real chat

Run a conversation through the module yourself, then test the trigger. Zapier brings back the three most recent items, so you map fields from a real chat, not a guess.

  4. 04

    Add the two actions

Add the spreadsheet step and map what the trigger test brought back to its columns, then the team chat step. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each action and read what came back. Then publish the Zap to switch it on. Conversations that went through the module before that moment are never sent.

Triggers

The LoyJoy trigger on Zapier

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in LoyJoy, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Zapier Process Module

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Zapier Process Module is visited in LoyJoy.”

Starts your Zap whenever a LoyJoy conversation visits a Zapier Process Module you placed in a chat flow. Where you place the module in the flow decides at which point of the conversation the Zap starts.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
set the module at the end of a sales chat, so the Zap starts once the visitor has gone through every question.
Watch out
the Process Module field is required and narrows the Zap to the one module you pick, so a second module in another flow calls for its own Zap.
When it breaks

When a LoyJoy Zap breaks

Zapier lists no help article and no rate limit specific to LoyJoy. What goes wrong comes from how every Zap behaves, and from where the module sits in your chat flow.

These four cases are the ones to rule out first. If yours is not among them, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Nothing to pick in Process Module

The required field can only offer modules that exist in LoyJoy. Place a Zapier Process Module in a chat flow first, then come back to the field.
  • Past conversations never arrive

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Chats that crossed the module earlier are not sent, and moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches starts itself again and again, and burns through the task count fast.
  • A spike that gets held back

If a campaign suddenly pushes a huge batch of conversations through the module, Zapier's flood protection can hold the trigger back instead of running each one.

FAQ

LoyJoy Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the LoyJoy Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as the Zap stays simple. LoyJoy is not a premium app, so the free plan can use it, with 100 tasks a month. That plan only builds two-step Zaps, one trigger and one action, which is enough to send each chat to a spreadsheet. Add a filter or a second action, for instance a message to your team after the row is written, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which requires a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a LoyJoy Zap use?
One task per successful action, for each conversation that crosses the module. The trigger itself costs nothing, and so does a conversation that a filter stops. A chat that adds one row uses one task; a chat that adds a row and posts a message uses two. An action that fails is not counted. To size a plan, multiply the conversations reaching the module by the number of actions in the Zap.
03Does LoyJoy send conversations to Zapier in real time?
Yes, its only trigger is instant. LoyJoy itself tells Zapier when a conversation visits your Zapier Process Module, and the Zap starts straight away. That holds on every plan, free included, so the polling interval grid does not concern this app. In the editor, a lightning bolt marks Zaps built on an instant trigger, which is an easy way to confirm it on your own Zap. No setting changes this: the type comes from the app.
04What do you need to connect LoyJoy to Zapier?
A LoyJoy account, a Zapier account, and access to the chat flows the Zap should listen to. You add the connection from the Apps page of Zapier with + Add connection, sign in to LoyJoy and grant access. Before building, place a Zapier Process Module in a chat flow: the trigger's required Process Module field asks you to pick one, so it has to exist on the LoyJoy side first. The connection is then reused by every LoyJoy Zap you build.
05Why does one Zap not catch every LoyJoy chat flow?
Because the trigger listens to a single module. The Process Module field is required, and it narrows the Zap to the module you pick there. If your sales chat and your support chat each end on their own module, each one needs its own Zap. That is also useful: a support case and a sales lead rarely belong in the same tool, and separate Zaps keep them apart without any filter.
06What if the LoyJoy operation you want is not on Zapier?
Then Zapier cannot do it today, and no setting will reveal it. LoyJoy offers a single trigger on Zapier, with no action and no search, so a Zap cannot post a message into a chat, change anything in LoyJoy or fetch data from it. Everything has to start with a conversation crossing a module. For anything else, compare what other automation platforms offer for LoyJoy before planning around it, so the gap does not surprise you mid-build.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for LoyJoy?
Decide on criteria rather than on a ranking. Ask first whether you only need chats to leave LoyJoy: that is all Zapier does here, with one instant trigger and no action or search. Then size it: on Zapier the trigger is free, each row or message is a task, and the free plan covers 100 tasks a month with one action per Zap. Finally, if each lead must land in two tools, that is two actions, so a paid plan on Zapier; weigh that against what the other platform asks for the same flow.
