What the Magnetly Zapier integration actually does
Magnetly builds free micro-tools that pull in leads or traffic for your website. The Zapier side is narrow and useful: each time one of those tools captures a lead, Magnetly tells Zapier straight away, and a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier) carries that lead into another app you already use.
Three results people build with it, all starting from the single New Lead trigger. A running log: every lead becomes a row in a spreadsheet, so you stop exporting lists by hand. A heads-up for the team: the lead is posted in your team chat, and whoever is on duty sees it without opening Magnetly. A contact that is ready to nurture: the lead goes into your email tool, where your follow-up sequence takes over.
Now the honest part. Zapier offers no action and no search for Magnetly. So a Zap can read what Magnetly sends out, but it cannot write anything back into Magnetly, cannot build or edit a micro-tool, and cannot look up a lead that already exists. Leads captured before your Zap was switched on are not picked up either. Treat the integration as a one-way door: Magnetly hands each new lead out, and the rest of your tools do the work from there.

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back all through this page. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Here it is a new lead in Magnetly; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens, so nothing waits.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Magnetly account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step and every Zap that needs Magnetly.
What a Magnetly Zap really costs
Magnetly is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and the trigger is never one of them.
- New Lead trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
A new lead arriving costs nothing. Each action that succeeds after it costs one task; a failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two steps per Zap: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is how often Zapier checks polling triggers on each plan. It does not apply here: New Lead is instant on every plan.
Connect Magnetly to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Magnetly account first, plus access to anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick Magnetly
Type Magnetly in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the Magnetly side, where the rest happens.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Magnetly in that tab and allow Zapier to reach your account. The connection now appears in your list, and every future Magnetly step reuses it instead of asking again.
Your first Zap: every qualifying lead logged in a spreadsheet
GoalKeep a clean log of the leads you care about: when Magnetly captures one that passes your filter, add it as a row to your spreadsheet.
- 01
Build the trigger
Create a Zap, choose Magnetly as the app and New Lead as the event, then select the Magnetly connection you added in the previous block.
- 02
Test with a real lead
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of your account, so you pick a real one and map real data in the next steps.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter. Set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on text and a number rule on numbers, or it never passes. Many filters fail for that reason alone.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet step
Add your spreadsheet as the action and map the lead details into the columns. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the row looks right, click Publish: from then on, each new lead that passes the filter is logged.
The Magnetly trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Magnetly, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Lead
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is created.”
Fires each time one of your Magnetly micro-tools records a new lead, and passes that lead to the steps of your Zap so another app can use it.
When a Magnetly Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Magnetly, and the app page lists no limit of its own. What goes wrong comes from how Zapier itself works.
Four situations explain most surprises. Knowing them in advance saves most of the debugging. If you get stuck anyway, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
Old leads never show up
A Zap only reacts to leads captured after it was switched on. Anything collected earlier is not replayed, and moving it is a separate job.A sudden wave of leads is held
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the Zap back. The Zap will not publish on Free
The free plan allows one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action turns the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan.A step failed and nothing was billed
An action that does not go through is not counted as a task. The lead did not reach the other app either, so read what the step returned.
