Mailatmars Zapier integrationAutomate Mailatmars with Zapier.

The Mailatmars Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. That single action, Create Contact, lets any other app drop a new person into the Mailatmars list you choose, so sign-ups no longer wait for a manual import.

Overview

What the Mailatmars Zapier integration does

The Mailatmars Zapier integration lets other apps add contacts to Mailatmars, an email service organised around contact lists. It works in one direction and does one thing: when something happens in another tool, Zapier creates a contact in the Mailatmars list you picked.

Three results you can build with that one action. A sign-up form that feeds a list: each entry runs Create Contact, and the person is on your Mailatmars list without an export. Separate lists for separate sources: one Zap per source, each pointing Create Contact at its own list, keeps newsletter sign-ups apart from contacts coming from your CRM. A spreadsheet that stops being the master copy: new rows go straight to Mailatmars, so the list there is the one you trust.

What Zapier does not do with Mailatmars: much else. There is no trigger, so nothing that happens in Mailatmars can start a Zap. There is no search, so a Zap cannot check whether a contact already exists. There is no update and no removal either, and no step here sends an email: that stays in Mailatmars. Think of this integration as a door into your lists, nothing more, and plan the rest of the work inside Mailatmars.

If you are comparing platforms before you commit, the Make vs Zapier page is a reasonable first read.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back on this page. Here they are once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. Mailatmars has none, so the trigger of a Mailatmars Zap always comes from another app.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes something. With Mailatmars, that means creating a contact in a list.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The allowance on your plan is a count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer; an instant one is reported by its app straight away. It depends on the app that starts your Zap.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your Mailatmars account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that creates contacts there.
Cost

What a Mailatmars Zap costs you

Mailatmars is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. Each contact created successfully counts as one task; the trigger in the other app never costs anything.

  • One contact created1 task
  • Trigger in the other appFree, never counted
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo

A Zap that only runs Create Contact uses one task per new contact. A failed run is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Mailatmars has no trigger: the interval grid below applies to the polling trigger of the app that starts your Zap, if it has one.

Connect

Connect Mailatmars to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

Go to the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection. In the dialog that opens, type Mailatmars and pick it from the list of apps shown.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Mailatmars

Click Add connection. Mailatmars opens in a new tab: sign in with the account that holds the lists you want to fill. You need a Mailatmars account of your own to get past this step.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Approve the access Zapier asks for. The connection then shows on the Apps page, and every Mailatmars step reuses it. If a list belongs to a colleague, your account needs write access to it.

First Zap

Your first Mailatmars Zap

GoalEach person who fills in your website form is added as a contact to a chosen Mailatmars list, ready for your next send.

  1. 01

    Start with the form

Create a Zap and pick your form tool as the first app, with its new entry event. Mailatmars cannot start a Zap, so the trigger always comes from somewhere else.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of the form; pick a real one with the details you want to send across.

  3. 03

    Add Create Contact

Add Mailatmars as the action app and choose Create Contact. In Select List, pick the list the person should join, then map the form answers into the contact.

  4. 04

    Test the action

Run the action test and open the list in Mailatmars: the contact should be there. It is a real contact, so remove it afterwards if it was a test.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Form entries sent before that moment are not added; only the ones that arrive after publishing are.

Actions

The Mailatmars action

Mailatmars gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Contact

Action

In Zapier“Create a new contact in the selected mailatmars list”

Adds a new contact to the Mailatmars list you pick, using details that arrived in another app.

When to use it
whenever sign-ups land in a form, a sheet or a CRM and should end up on a Mailatmars list without an export.
Watch out
Select List is required, and it only offers lists that already exist in your account.
When it breaks

When a Mailatmars Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Mailatmars, so the cases below are the general ones, applied to a list you feed from elsewhere.

Most trouble with Mailatmars starts in the source app or in the list setting: a list that was removed, or a big import that sends far more entries than usual. If a Zap still misbehaves, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Old sign-ups are not added

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. People already in your form or sheet are never sent over; moving them is a separate job.
  • A sudden flood of entries

After a bulk import or a migration in the source app, a trigger that returns a huge batch at once can be held back by Zapier's flood protection.
  • No list selected

Select List is required on Create Contact. If it is empty, or points at a list that no longer exists, the action does not go through.
  • The same entry seen once

On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same form entry does not start the Zap twice.

FAQ

Mailatmars Zapier integration FAQ

01Is the Mailatmars Zapier integration free?
Yes, for the kind of Zap it is built for. Mailatmars is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan: 100 tasks a month and Zaps made of one trigger and one action. A form entry followed by Create Contact fits that exactly. The moment you add a filter, for example to send only some entries, or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. For one source feeding one list, the free plan is enough to start.
02How many tasks does a Mailatmars Zap use?
One per contact created successfully. The trigger in the other app is free, and Zapier checking that app for new items costs nothing either. A Zap that only runs Create Contact uses one task for each new person sent to Mailatmars; if you add a second action, each run uses two. A run that fails, for instance because no list was selected, is not counted. With 100 tasks a month on the free plan, that means up to 100 contacts created.
03Can Mailatmars start a Zap in real time?
No, because Mailatmars has no trigger on Zapier. How fast a contact lands in your list depends on the app that starts the Zap. If that app has an instant trigger, it tells Zapier straight away. If it has a polling trigger, Zapier checks it at the interval of your plan: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. Mailatmars itself does not change any of that.
04What does it take to connect Mailatmars to Zapier?
A Mailatmars account you can sign in to, a Zapier account, and at least one list already created in Mailatmars. On the Apps page of Zapier, click + Add connection, search for Mailatmars, click Add connection, sign in to Mailatmars in the tab that opens and grant access. Every Mailatmars step then reuses that connection. If the list you want to fill belongs to someone else, your account needs write access to it.
05Why is the Select List field empty in Mailatmars?
Because Select List only offers lists that already exist in the connected account. If you have not created one yet in Mailatmars, or if you connected a different account from the one holding your lists, there is nothing to choose, and Create Contact cannot run without it since the field is required. Create the list in Mailatmars first, then come back to the step and pick it. Check also that you picked the right connection.
06What if the Mailatmars trigger or action you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot provide it: the list of operations comes from the Mailatmars integration itself and cannot be extended from the editor. Today that list is one action, Create Contact, with no trigger, no search and nothing to update or remove a contact. If your plan depends on reading Mailatmars or reacting to what happens there, Zapier cannot do it, so look for a tool that offers that operation before you build. A paid Zapier plan does not add operations either.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Mailatmars?
Decide on what you need from Mailatmars, not on the brand. On Zapier you get one action, enough to keep lists fed from other apps, but nothing that reads from Mailatmars or reacts to it. If you need more than adding contacts, check whether the other platform offers Mailatmars at all and with which operations. Then weigh how many contacts you expect to create each month and who will maintain the setup over time. None of the three is better in itself.
