Overview

What the MARCOM Robot Zapier integration is for

The MARCOM Robot Zapier integration gives your Zaps three lookups and nothing else. One checks an email address and returns validation results. One sends an enrichment request for an email. One sends an enrichment request for a company domain. MARCOM Robot never starts a Zap and never writes anything on its own: another app does that part.

Three results you can build with it. A form that only lets checked addresses through: a new form entry runs Validate Email, a filter reads the result, and only the entries that pass reach your CRM. A lead record with more context: a new contact in your CRM runs Email Enrichment, and the next step writes what came back next to the contact. A company view from a bare domain: a row with a website domain runs Domain Enrichment, so the steps after it can work with whatever MARCOM Robot returns (the test shows you exactly what).

Now what Zapier does not do for MARCOM Robot. It has no trigger, so nothing that happens inside MARCOM Robot can start a Zap. It has no action, so a Zap cannot create or change anything in MARCOM Robot. And because every operation is a search, any Zap that uses it is a multi-step Zap, which means a paid Zapier plan. Budget for it before you build anything.

The searches also offer no find-or-create variant: they look, they report, they never create. If you are still weighing Zapier itself, see our Zapier review.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words carry this page. Each one, once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more steps that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. With MARCOM Robot, that event always comes from another app.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or creates something in an app for you.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completed successfully. Your plan's allowance counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer set by your plan. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens.
Search step
A step that looks something up in an app so the steps after it can use what it found. All of MARCOM Robot works this way.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when the data meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A search, a filter or a second action makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a MARCOM Robot Zap really costs

Zapier never bills the trigger. It bills each action that succeeds, and an action that fails is not counted against your plan.

  • Trigger of the other app0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Zap with a MARCOM Robot searchMulti-step, paid plan

MARCOM Robot is not one of the apps Zapier reserves for paid plans, but that does not make it free to use. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and builds two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one action. A search step turns any Zap into a multi-step Zap, and every MARCOM Robot operation is a search, so you need a paid plan. How fast the Zap starts depends on the trigger of the other app: if it polls, the grid below applies.

Connect

Connect MARCOM Robot to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. You need a MARCOM Robot account first, plus access to anything you do not own and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Pick MARCOM Robot

Search for MARCOM Robot in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the MARCOM Robot side, where you finish the link.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to MARCOM Robot in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection then shows on the Apps page and serves every MARCOM Robot step you add later.

First Zap

Your first Zap: only checked emails reach your CRM

GoalWhen someone fills in your form, check their email with MARCOM Robot and add them to your CRM only when the result passes your condition.

  1. 01

    Start from your form

Build a new Zap and pick your form tool and its new-entry event as the trigger. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent entries so you map on a real one.

  2. 02

    Add Validate Email

Add a MARCOM Robot step and choose Validate Email from the searches at the bottom of the event list. Map the email field of the form entry into its Email box.

  3. 03

    Read the result at test

Test the search and read the validation results it sends back. That is what the filter will look at, so note which field carries the verdict before you go on.

  4. 04

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon and set the field, the rule and the value. Use a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers, or the filter never passes.

  5. 05

    Add your CRM, test, publish

Add the action of your CRM, map the form data, test it, then click Publish. This Zap needs a paid plan. For guided practice, try our Zapier training.

Searches

The three MARCOM Robot searches

3 search steps look for data that already exists in MARCOM Robot, so a later step can use it.

Searches sit at the bottom of the action-event list in the editor, under their own SEARCH heading. Three settings decide what a search does when the answer is not a clean single match.

1

Domain Enrichment

Search

In Zapier“Creates an Enrichment Request for Selected Domain”

Sends MARCOM Robot an enrichment request for a company domain you pass in, so the next steps can use what comes back.

When to use it
a lead arrives with only a website domain and your sales team wants more about the company before calling.
Watch out
Domain is required, so map a field that holds the domain itself and check at test what MARCOM Robot returns.
2

Email Enrichment

Search

In Zapier“Creates an Enrichment Request for Selected Email”

Gives you more on a person when all you hold is their email address: MARCOM Robot gets the request, and its answer goes to the steps that follow.

When to use it
a new contact lands in your CRM with an email and little else, and you want the record filled out before anyone works it.
Watch out
the Email field is required; run the test on a real contact to see which details actually come back.
3

Validate Email

Search

In Zapier“Validate email and get validation results”

Checks an email address and returns validation results that a filter or a later step can act on.

When to use it
a sign-up form feeds your CRM and you only want addresses that pass the check to get through.
Watch out
Email is required, and the field that carries the verdict is the one your filter must read, so find it at test.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and skips the steps that depended on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on with nothing in hand.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
This box turns a search into a find-or-create. MARCOM Robot exposes no find-or-create variant for any of its three searches.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or hand all of them to the next steps at once.
When it breaks

When a MARCOM Robot Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to MARCOM Robot, so these are the failures any Zap can hit.

These cases come from how Zaps work in general, not from MARCOM Robot itself. If a run still behaves oddly, read our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Old contacts are never checked

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Contacts already in your tools are not picked up, and checking that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that keeps restarting

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burn through your tasks fast. Keep the two apart.
  • A bulk import held back

When the starting app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.
  • No double start on polling

On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same item does not start the Zap a second time.

FAQ

MARCOM Robot and Zapier: your questions

01Is the MARCOM Robot Zapier integration free?
Connecting it is, using it in a Zap is not. MARCOM Robot is not one of the apps Zapier keeps for paid plans, so the connection works on any account. But all three of its operations are searches, and a search makes a Zap multi-step. Zapier's free plan builds only two-step Zaps, one trigger and one action, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. So a Zap that validates or enriches with MARCOM Robot needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a MARCOM Robot Zap use?
Zapier counts one task for each action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. In the CRM Zap on this page, the contact created at the end counts once per run that gets through the filter. A run stopped by the filter never reaches that action. The facts Zapier publishes do not say how a search step itself is counted, so read your usage after the first real runs. Zapier also notes that a few apps and actions take more than one task.
03Can a MARCOM Robot Zap run in real time?
It runs as fast as the app that starts it. MARCOM Robot has no trigger, so the first step of your Zap is always another app. If that app's trigger is instant, it reports the event to Zapier straight away and the interval grid does not apply. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer set by your plan: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. The type is decided by that app, not by the editor.
04What do you need to connect MARCOM Robot to Zapier?
A MARCOM Robot account, plus access to anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. In Zapier, open the Apps page, click + Add connection, search for MARCOM Robot and pick it, then click Add connection. Sign in to MARCOM Robot in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. That connection is reused by every MARCOM Robot step in every Zap afterwards, so it is a one-time setup per account.
05Why does every MARCOM Robot Zap need a paid plan?
Because MARCOM Robot offers searches only, and Zapier treats any Zap with a search as multi-step. A Zap needs a trigger first, which has to come from another app here, then the MARCOM Robot search, then usually an action that does something with the result. That is three steps at least. The free plan stops at two. So plan your budget around a paid Zapier plan from day one, and test the whole flow on a few real contacts before you rely on it.
06What if the MARCOM Robot operation you want is not there?
Then Zapier does not offer it today. The editor shows three MARCOM Robot searches (Domain Enrichment, Email Enrichment, Validate Email) and nothing else: no trigger to start a Zap from MARCOM Robot, no action to write into it. Use the searches as a checkpoint between two other apps, and handle anything else inside MARCOM Robot itself. The MARCOM Robot page on Zapier shows the current list of operations: check it before you plan a new Zap.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MARCOM Robot?
Judge it on criteria, not on a ranking. Coverage: on Zapier, MARCOM Robot offers three searches, so check whether the other platform lists the same lookups. Plan: on Zapier, a search makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is a given; compare that with how the other tool charges for the same flow. Volume: Zapier bills successful actions, so count how many contacts you plan to check each month. Put those three answers side by side before choosing.
