What the Mobimag Zapier integration does
It connects Mobimag, a tool for publishing magazines and earning money from them, to the rest of your apps. A Zap, the automation you build on Zapier, starts when a reader submits their contact details on your Mobimag publication, and then does something with them in another app.
Readers become CRM contacts. New Contact picks up each set of details a reader leaves, and the Zap creates the matching contact in your CRM, ready for the follow-up you run from there.
A mailing list that grows with the magazine. The same trigger can add each reader to your email tool, so the people who read one issue hear about the next.
A log you can sort and share. A spreadsheet row per reader gives you a plain record of who signed up, without exporting anything by hand.
One polling trigger. Zapier checks Mobimag on a timer, every 15 minutes on the free plan, so a new reader reaches your other tools at the next check.
What Zapier does not do here. Mobimag has a single trigger and no action or search on Zapier: a Zap cannot publish, edit or look up anything in Mobimag, and nothing other than a new contact starts a Zap. To weigh other tools, see our n8n vs Zapier guide and our Make vs Zapier guide.
Zapier in one minute
Seven words you will meet in the editor, in plain terms.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, here a reader submitting details on Mobimag. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, always in another app here.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those and nothing else.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- A polling trigger, like New Contact, is checked on a timer for new items. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Mobimag Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, and a reader leaving their details costs nothing by itself. The trigger is free, and so is every check Zapier runs on your publication.
- Mobimag on the free planYes, not reserved for paid plans
- Free plan tasks100 per month
- Free plan Zap size2 steps: one trigger, one action
- Mobimag trigger1, polling
Only the action in your other app counts: one task each time it succeeds, nothing when it fails. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps, which is New Contact plus one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan. A few apps and actions take more than one task. The interval grid below applies to New Contact, a polling trigger. To compare plans, see our Zapier review.
Connect Mobimag to Zapier
- 01
Open Apps and add a connection
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box where you find any app Zapier supports by its name.
- 02
Pick Mobimag and confirm
Type Mobimag, select it in the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens, where you sign in to Mobimag with the account that owns your publication.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to access the account. You need an account on Mobimag, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Every Mobimag Zap then reuses this connection.
Your first Zap: readers into your CRM
GoalCreate a CRM contact for each reader who leaves their details on your Mobimag publication, keeping only those who meet a condition you set.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Create a Zap, choose Mobimag as the trigger app and New Contact as the event, then pick the Mobimag connection you made earlier.
- 02
Enter the Publication ID
Type the Publication ID, the last part of your publication's address. For
mobimag.co/my-magazinethat ismy-magazine, nothing more. - 03
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of that publication, so you map on a real reader and see which details come through.
- 04
Add the filter and your CRM
Add a Filter from the plus icon (field, rule, value; it needs a paid plan), then your CRM with its contact-creation action, and map the reader's details into it.
- 05
Test and publish
Test the CRM step and read what came back. Then click Publish: Zapier now checks your publication at the interval of your plan.
The Mobimag trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Mobimag. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Contact
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a user submits their contact details on your Mobimag.”
Starts your Zap each time a reader submits their contact details on your Mobimag publication, so those details can travel to the tool where you follow up.
When a Mobimag Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mobimag, so the cases below are the general limits every Zap runs into.
For a symptom you do not find here, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
No backlog pickup
A Zap only reacts to contacts submitted after you switch it on. Readers who signed up before are never sent; moving them is a separate job.Bulk batches held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back. One contact, one run
On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same contact does not start the Zap twice.A filter that never passes
Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text and a number rule only on numbers. Picking the wrong one is why a filter never lets anything through.
