Mobiz SMS Zapier integrationAutomate Mobiz SMS with Zapier.
The Mobiz SMS Zapier integration gives you 3 triggers, 5 actions and 0 searches, all about contacts: new, changed, unsubscribed, added to a list or removed from one. The triggers check on a timer, and creating a contact can send it an SMS, depending on your account settings.

What the Mobiz SMS Zapier integration does for you
It connects Mobiz SMS, a service for building personalised SMS campaigns with their own landing page, to Zapier, the tool that chains automations between apps. Contacts that appear, change or unsubscribe in Mobiz SMS can start steps in other tools, and those tools can create, update, sort or unsubscribe Mobiz SMS contacts.
Unsubscribes that reach every tool. Contact Unsubscribed starts the Zap when someone leaves, and an action in your CRM updates their record. The person who said no stops being treated as a yes elsewhere.
Contacts from your other tools, ready for campaigns. Someone appears in another app, and Create Contact adds them to Mobiz SMS. Add Contact to List then puts them in the right list, found by Mobiz contact ID, phone number or email.
Lists that follow what happens elsewhere. Remove Contact From List and Unsubscribe Contact take people out when an event in another tool says so, without anyone opening Mobiz SMS.
What Zapier does not do here: no trigger is instant, so every Zap waits for the next check, and there is no search step to look up a contact before acting. Zapier also does not stop Create Contact from sending an SMS when your Mobiz settings say so. Before choosing a tool, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison and our Zapier review.
Zapier words in one minute
Eight words come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are in plain terms, before you plug your contact base in.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something in an app on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action that your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts these.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeping only unseen ones.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a check.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
What a Mobiz SMS Zap really costs
Mobiz SMS is not a premium app on Zapier, so you can use it on the free plan. You spend tasks, and only actions spend them.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Tasks on the free plan100 per month
- Steps per Zap on the free plan2 (one trigger, one action)
- Cost of a trigger check0 tasks
The three triggers never cost a task, however often Zapier checks for new contacts. Each of the five actions counts as one task when it goes through, and a failed one is not counted. A Zap that creates a contact and then adds it to a list spends two tasks. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Your plan also sets how often the triggers are checked, as the grid below shows.
Connect Mobiz SMS to Zapier
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Mobiz SMS account linked once, then reused by every Zap step that works with it.
- 02
Pick Mobiz SMS
Search Mobiz SMS by name in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Mobiz SMS opens in a new tab. Sign in, then grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is then offered in the account menu of each step that uses Mobiz SMS, in every Zap you build.
Your first Zap: pass some unsubscribes on to your CRM
GoalWhen a Mobiz SMS contact unsubscribes and meets a condition you set, update that person's record in your CRM.
- 01
Set the trigger
Create a Zap, pick Mobiz SMS and the Contact Unsubscribed event, then your connection. It is a polling trigger: Zapier checks for new unsubscribes at the interval of your plan.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real contact. Check at test which details come back.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value to compare with. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the CRM update
Add your CRM with its update action, and map the contact's phone number or email, if the test shows them, to find the right record. Test the step and read what came back before going further.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Each unsubscribe that passes the filter then costs one task, and only the ones that happen after publishing are picked up.
Mobiz SMS triggers
3 events start a Zap when something happens in Mobiz SMS. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
Contact Created
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new contact is created.”
Starts your Zap when a new contact is added to your Mobiz SMS account, and passes that contact to the following steps.
Contact Created or Updated
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new contact is created or updated.”
Reacts to both new contacts and changes to existing ones in Mobiz SMS, so any edit made in the app can travel to the tools that keep a copy of the same person.
Contact Unsubscribed
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a contact has been unsubscribed.”
Fires when a contact has been unsubscribed in Mobiz SMS, and hands that person to the next steps so the decision is not lost in a single tool.
Mobiz SMS actions
Mobiz SMS gives you 5 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

When a Mobiz SMS Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mobiz SMS, and no rate limit is published for it. What breaks is what breaks on any polling Zap, plus two rules stated by the actions themselves.
Six cases cover most of the surprises on this app. If a Zap still misbehaves after them, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Existing contacts are never picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Your current base stays where it is; moving that backlog is a separate job.The same contact never runs twice
Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.A new contact gets an SMS
Depending on your Mobiz account settings, contacts synced by Create Contact may be sent an SMS. Check those settings before the first live run.No identifier on a list action
Add Contact to List, Remove Contact From List and Unsubscribe Contact need at least a Mobiz contact ID, a phone number or an email. The Zap keeps restarting itself
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burns through the task count fast.A big import gets held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.
